One of the most consistent places around! This place has been in regular rotation for Sunday brunch for about 5 years now. The steak and eggs are my go to. My husband really likes their grits. Then placed permanent markers in front of him instead. Yea let's give a 3 year old permanent markers. What could go wrong? I think we wasted about 50 cents of good salt so he could trace his fingers in the salt. Sad staff choice with that young tall male who was working tonight. Overall it was a great experience. My husband and I were in town for a wedding, walked in and immediately asked if we had a reservation. We responded no but were instantly sat anyways! Quite a few people did come in with reservations so that might be the way to go. The food was very good, the only disappointment was my husband shrimp and grits. For $22, we expected more than 4/5 shrimp and they were not de-tailed yet they were covered in the grits. Messy and annoying, my husband spent more time digging for them and de-tailing than eating. I've been wanting to try this place for a while now. We made reservations around 6 pm the night before for brunch but it apparently didn't make it into the system. But it was for right when they opened so no worries. Plenty of seats. Staff was fine. Not like Chili's nice. But they got the job done. Chicken with biscuits were good. Chicken was tender and looked kind of undercooked (translucent) in the thickest part. Also the breading kept slipping off. Not sure if that's normal or not. Had naked tenders every time I picked them up. The biscuits and gravy dish had thick cut bacon and a thick sausage patty. Not the thin stuff I'm used to. But I wish they put more gravy on it. Ran really dry at the end and biscuits tough to eat like that. Probably the best dish on the table this morning was the shrimp and grits Benedict. 5 shrimp, decent size. Sauce was tasty too. I'd order it again just for that. Better than the gravy on the biscuits in my opinion. Check came out before we were done eating. My dad had only finished 1 of his 2 biscuits. Guess they wanted to move us out. It was packed full by 10:40 am on Saturday. The one thing I really don't like is the surcharge for credit card use. Is this a Collierville thing? Or a town square thing? These days folks use plastic and because the bill ain't cheap, folks usually don't carry that amount of cash around with them. I wish restaurants got this concept. Bake it into the food price if you must. But don't do the 3.5% surcharge thing. Takes you from classy to trashy. read more

All the team here are really nice people. House-made pork rinds are waiting on table when you arrive in the evening, amongst a relaxed yet upscale dining experience. Austin, the manager, has put together a great team and leads by example while mixing up great cocktails behind the bar, running food out, checking on tables etc. The kitchen team have an excellent pedigree of fine dining standards with a love of food that shows in their unpretentious but absolutely delicious food, so much that nearly everything sells out and rightly deserved. The pimento cheese app looked amazing and comes with bacon jam and crumbles and the sauce is perfect. The children's chicken tenders meal is enormous and everything is made from scratch, made to order. Catfish is extremely popular with its gluten free coating and again 2 fillets with your order. Burgers are not to be missed and yes they make the gluten free buns in house! Shrimp & grits is heavenly, they really outdo themselves. Both chicken dishes are fantastic! All the beef is locally sourced and just melts in your mouth. For desert get the chocolate soufflé is served in cast iron and is decadent, the lemon curd with the freshest strawberries, and being Italian I adore an affogato which is perfect at the end of a meal. And I found out this place is opening a second location in Somerville in August and does a Sunday brunch- I can only imagine what's in store. read more

They all clearly have the best interests and their hearts in this establishment. + Extremely comfortable atmosphere. + The scallops with the grits substituted for the couscous was absolutely superb! Zero grit within the scallops. The pickled, green onions, and Italian virgin oil/balsamic was a very savory addition. + Quality of food was exceptional high with local sourcing of their beef and nothing but the finest of poultry, seafood and vegetables. We had a variety of dishes and everyone loved their food. The R&L burger was super tasty, but hard to eat as there were so many toppings. My daughter went on and on about the burger and the bacon on the burger. The hamburger steak was excellent and the sauce had such a great flavor. My sister in laws loved the Chicken paillard and the yummy potato that came with it. The staff were extremely nice and several members of the wait staff came by to check on us and to inquire if everything was to our liking. Extremely tentative staff. Husband and I were looking to try something new and we knew that we wanted to eat on the square so we could enjoy a nice walk after. We were looking forward to lunch as it was noon. We were tired and hungry after enjoying the Art Fair in downtown. When we walked in we were told that they were still only serving breakfast until 2. After a quick walk and another discussion we decided that breakfast would be okay. Once we saw the menu we were on the fence again. Being gluten free I only had three option and the portion sizes seemed huge. A 3 egg omelet or 3 eggs, home fries and a choice of a side. Upon ordering we decided to order off of the sides menu. We were able to get the perfect portions and save money that way. We both had the sausage patty and found it dry and hard. It had good flavor but without my husband's gravy or my over easy egg the sausage would have been hard to eat. My egg was great, and the potatoes were good, just seasoned somewhat unevenly. My husband got biscuits and gravy, and the gravy was starting to separate. He said that the flavor was good, just didn't feel like it was fresh. Overall we left full, but felt that there were some execution issues, and wished that we could have been able to get lunch at noon. read more

Damn...if you have not eaten here... YOU MUST! Austin, the highly energetic bartender who loves his job, made my "party of one" the most enjoyable and entertaining. He sold me on the Maple Old Fashion cocktail which was a little too sweet to my liking but I enjoyed it anyway because you could tell he really liked making it. The specials tonight were phenomenal sounding meatball dishes served In a cast iron skillet and a poached Halibut in a lovely sauce with butternut squash, cauliflower and other delicious flavors... I decided on the Halibut because well...dessert is a must! Holy hecking that fish was OFF THE CHAIN! Once I polished that dish off, I asked Austin what dessert he recommended and he said the "Cinnamon Roll" and I was SOLD! While I was waiting, I kindly asked him to make me a dessert beverage that would compliment the dessert and OMG, he whipped something up that I hope gets added to the menu. TLDR- Austin the bartender was the Sh*t! If my wife's schedule allows we try to come for Sunday brunch as often as possible. We usually have the croque madame and it is not only beautiful but tastes like you're in Paris. My wife gets the poached eggs with it and I get sausage and home potatoes, sooo good. Everything we have had on the regular menu is great, too and when we allow for desserts they are fantastic. The staff is perfect and the atmosphere is busy but fun. Everyone we have ever brought with us raves about how good it was. read more

Raven and lily has a great location right on the collierville square. We have been there multiple times. Previously we've had pretty decent experiences, which is what knocked this rating up from a 2 to 3. My wife and I ordered a couple of drinks. We tried to drinks from the specialty cocktail menu first. Neither were very good. I don't even remember what they were. We're not memorable. But what I DO remember is the old fashioned I ordered. It was one of the worst old fashioneds I've ever had. The large cube of ice in the glass was basically a pellet, due to the drink being borderline hot. It tasted like a double shot of bourbon. And the orange peel looked like it was taken from an orange that was a few weeks old. We then ordered 2 burgers - hot mess and the raven and lily burger. Hot mess is a perfect name for that burger. It was falling apart, and incredibly hard to eat. The raven and lily burger was better, because you were able to bite into it and get a taste of all the flavors. But both burgers were dry. Pair all of this with the prices.. we won't be back. Though- on a positive note, the fries were phenomenal. Easily the highlight of the meal. read more

They provided drink option suggestions and informed us of which food items were unavailable for the day. The other guests were very friendly. My omelet was amazing. We all agreed that the bread items were overdone but the housemaid strawberry jam kinda saved it. The housemaid potatoes were also yummy. I absolutely loved my visit to Raven & Lilly!! The restaurant was cute and small and since we were part of a group, we took up half the restaurant. There were pork rinds on the table, which were pretty tasty. I ordered the scallops and let me just say - I cleaned my plate! It was excellent! One of the other guests at the table had an insane burger. I had never seen anything like it so I had to take a pic! The service was good and everyone was pleased with their selections. I really enjoy coming here. I dig the atmosphere and the loud vibrant energy that comes with it. It is very tastefully decorated and I feel quite comfortable being here. You are sat in a small dining room but somehow I always feel alone and able to focus on the people I'm with. We have been a handful of times and I have always found the food and service to be pretty stellar. My wife LOVES the Bloody Mary, and if you check out my pictures, you'll see why. What a bad ass presentation with tasty little bites to sample while drinking it. It even has BACON! Yum. I've had nothing but great meals here. The RL burger is ridiculous. Just get it at least once. It's excessive but really good. I can personally vouch for the Oyster PO Boy, Brunch Chilaquiles, and the Roasted Chicken Pasta. They are all very tasty. One last thing... for brunch they have CHOCOLATE GRAVY!! If you've never had it, get your butt in here and get some! Pair it up with some salty bacon and you are where it's at. read more

Last night my husband and I had our anniversary dinner at Raven and Lily. It was a wonderful experience! The food was delicious (I had the catfish with greens and grits with the lemon curd dessert), fresh, and beautifully presented. I could tell it was cooked by a chef who takes pride in their work and cooks with love. For my drink order, I asked for a Guinness. They don't offer Guinness but the waitress made a recommendation that I was very pleased with. Also, our waitress was patient and answered all my menu questions with a knowledge of dish ingredients which I appreciated. The restaurant is small but comfortable with a very nice "neighborhood" bar. I'm looking forward to returning and trying the shrimp and grits! read more

May have been my selection, but the shrimp and grits were probably the worse I have eaten. Not much flavor and not much of the grits. I buy grits from mills I have been to and they aren't that expensive. You can put a cup on the plate and still make a killing at $20. Co worker had a chicken sandwich and was OK. Disappointing for a $53 all in lunch with tea, tax and tip. Biggest issue, went back 4 days later with my wife to see if I should have ordered a burger that most seem to like.
