I had been wanting a cheesesteak sub and didn't want to be disappointed. After a few searches for restaurants near me with good cheesesteak reviews, this spot was listed a few times with good reviews. Food is so subjective and what one person loves someone else dislikes so I also go with what the pictures look like and so with that I went for it. I'm very glad I did because I had the best cheesesteak I've ever eaten at Ravage Deli. It was very good and I'm holding myself back from getting another one today lol. The only reason I didn't rate 5 stars is that for me the lettuce didn't taste as fresh. It had a producy taste if that makes sense. Very small thing in the big scheme of things. read more

Yelp has been knocking it out of the park for me recently. Thanks to you all for pointing me towards this AWESOME PLACE. It was so good that I've been back 2 days in a row, and brought my wife the second time. The first time, I ordered the beef brisket sandwich, as Anne S. suggested (review 2/9/13), and BOY was she right. The sandwich was delicious, BBQ sauce tangy as advertised, with melted cheddar on a toasted roll. Unless you have a big, big appetite, the regular size is probably the correct one for a single person. I can't say that I've had too many memorable sandwiches recently, but this was definitely a memorable sandwich!! The next day (when I brought my wife), I had the cheesesteak -- which was good, but not a sensory experience like the beef brisket. My wife, though, ordered the pulled pork with NC-style sauce, which was RIDICULOUSLY good. The pork was tender, flavorful, and the sauce was not overpowering or over the top -- just right. We shared a basket (regular sized) of the hand-cut fries, which were delicious. Just as good as Five Guys' hand-cut fries, and maybe better. I probably drove past Ravage Deli for 4 months before reading the Yelp reviews and deciding to give it a try. Thanks for pointing me to another awesome find!! While running a few errands out in Perry Hall, my friend and I got hungry for lunch. My friend suggested Ravage Deli, she works nearby and has heard plenty of great things about this little deli. It even won best deli in Baltimore in 2013. That information by itself was enough and we headed over. The space is small, but the menu is expansive. We decided to start with an order of Duck Fat Fries and this was a great decision. These fries were hand cut and then fried in duck fat and topped with parmesan, cracked pepper and chives. We shared a small, which was more than plenty, but I couldn't help feeling disappointed when we finished the dish because they were delicious. My friend decided to order the Angus Chili because it was a special when we visited. The chili wasn't too spicy but packed with plenty of ground beef, beans and other spices and then topped with a light sprinkling of cheese. It was the perfect dish on a cold winter day. My friend also ordered a Grilled Cheese, at Ravage Deli you can customize your grilled cheese by choosing the bread and cheese. My friend chose texas toast topped with American cheese. While this may be the most boring grilled cheese combination someone can invent, it was still very good and satisfied my friends craving. For my meal, I went with the Slow Cooked Beef Brisket Sandwich. The sandwich came with house smoked beef brisket, Vermont cheddar cheese, crispy fried shallots, tangy barbeque sauce, on a toasted brioche bun. This sandwich was great and I'd drive out to Perry Hall for another one in an instant. We decided to stop into this place on our way out of Baltimore and were not disappointed. The interior is very small, so this place wouldn't work for a ton of people, but carry out seems to be popular. The menu was large with tons of sandwiches, salads, and sides. I had the crab cake sandwich with the malted vinegar aioli. The crab cake was really delicious (I would expect nothing less in Maryland). The aioli was pretty bland, and I personally prefer quite a bit of malted vinegar with my crab, so I ended up putting a little extra vinegar on there. Overall, a great sandwich. My SO had the philly cheesesteak. The hoagie roll was really good, but it was missing peppers and the meat was just a tiny bit greasy. As native of Pennsylvania, he said it was "pretty good sandwich, not a great philly." Overall, if you're looking for a good place to stop while traveling on I-95 north of Baltimore, take a short detour to this spot! read more

My husband and I recently moved to the area, and he decided to try Ravage Deli after the gym. He raved about their food, so I figured I would give it a shot. I ordered the chicken caesar salad and I was underwhelmed. The Caesar dressing was particularly thick, making it difficult to spread and coat the romaine. The chicken lacked seasoning. I ended up adding salt and pepper to the salad to give it a bit more flavor. I think this may be situation where I ordered the wrong thing. I might go for one of their more popular menu items next time! Update 6/13/18: I tried the Maryland Crab Grilled Cheese, tomato bisque, and white macadamia nut cookie, all of which were fantastic. Super friendly staff! When you walk in it seems everyone says hello! Menu looks good and ratings from various tv shows and magazines speak volumes. But, we've visited twice and though the food isn't bad, it doesn't quite live up to he hype. On our second visit, we split the cheesesteak, and it was decent. The meat tasted like they missed seasoning it as it cooked, and it's definitely not "the best cheesesteak this side of Philly" but it's ok. My daughter had a cheeseburger and it was tough, and inedible, maybe just a fluke. Fries are good, service is great. Get your food to go because it's hotter than hell inside. Mr. X and I have been eating a lot of cheese steaks lately, too many really. They have sort of become our Friday night "go-to" for whatever reason. This has inspired me to go on a mission to discover what, to me, is the best cheese steak within a reasonable distance of my home and/or work. By "best", I might add that i'm not only judging by taste. I also judge by value. I might also judge by travel distance, or also how late the place is open, as I'm generally picking up my order after 10 PM. So that all factors in. I found an article online touting Ravage deli as having one of the best 10 cheese steaks in Baltimore. Now, anyone with a brain knows to NEVER trust the media, especially because most reviews or "best of" lists are completely made up with nearly no basis on facts, the City Paper's BEST OF issue being a glaring example of complete liberal incompetence (and like, what about the other 1000+ "sub shops" in Baltimore that were NOT visited?). After reading the Yelp reviews, and with trepidation in tow, I called Ravage deli and placed an order for a cheese steak with the works ($10.00 & $14.00), hoping that I stumbled onto something great. Along with it, I ordered the "Mobtown" ($9.75 Regular size, $12.00 Large, and also an "XL" can be had for a whopping $19.00), which is their take on the traditional cold cut sub, along with a large order of regular fries ($2.50 for a "hand full", $4.00 Regular, $6.50 Large, and then $10.50 for a bucket. I chose the large, which was quite generous and more than enough for two people. I will say that although the cheese steak was good, it didn't "wow" me, or Mr. X. It was good, sure, but not like fantastic or anything. For one, it was a bit too greasy. I know fat equals taste, but in this case, it really was a bit too much, even for a fat guy like me. Also, it just didn't seem to have much taste, like it wasn't properly seasoned. It seemed to mysteriously be lacking in cheese and onions as well-- two vital components to this classic. I was really let down to be honest. Maybe it's just me. I must say to be fair, I've never met a cheese steak I didn't like, and this one was really no exception. It was fine, I just don't know that I'd put it on a 10 best list, or go out of my way to get it again. So much for media hype. Don't EVER listen to the media! On the other hand, the Cold Cut was awesome. I can highly recommend it. According to their menu, it's built with Hard Salami, Sopressata, Smoked Virginia Ham, Capricola ham, Sharp Provolone, Parmesan, Hots, Shredded Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, and Vinaigrette on a sub roll. It was very tasty, really excellent; perhaps one of the best I've ever had. The fries were good, I guess they are hand-cut in house as their menu states, but if they are, I couldn't tell anything about them that separated them from frozen. Still very good, crisp on the outside and crunchy inside. Again, they were good, just not special. They didn't have the taste, texture, or appearance that you expect with real hand-cut fries, so I'm not sure what to think. Don't go expecting them to be like Thrasher's or Five Guys because they aren't. Maybe they have switched to frozen, I don't know. I do know that you can get a damn good premium frozen french fry these days that are practically indistinguishable from hand-cut. I'd give 4 stars for an excellent cold cut sub, but I'm subtracting 1/2 a star for the lackluster cheese steak, and another 1/2 star for the fact that they close early (9:00 PM!) on weekends-- bad! I will say that the customer service is great! Very friendly people! If you're in the white marsh area, it's worth a visit. They have only a couple tables inside, but they also do carry out and delivery. read more

Amazing variety of choices of sandwiches, burgers, desserts, etc. I got a Roseda burger w/ Applewood bacon (no regrets) and a large side of sweet potato fries. Burger was great. Every bite was full of meat, fresh veggies and their bbq sauce. I love their bbq sauce. Although I do wish the meat was more seasoned. If your a fan if sweet potato fries, this is the spot, hot and fresh and not even greasy. I do want to try the duck fat fries next time. Overall great meal. I had been following Ravage on Facebook for a while, admiring their absurd creations. I decided to finally head down there (I live about 90 minutes away) to pound a food challenge they had promoted - 3 large cheesesteaks and a large order of fries in 45 minutes. As a born-and-raised Philly boy, I am always suspect of any cheesesteak concocted that is more than 30 minutes from the Schuylkill River. What these guys got going on is seriously legit. My only minor complaint was the roll - the roll itself is solid, but I would have preferred it to be untoasted (nobody in Philly toasts their rolls). The staff was patient and completely understanding when they could have been stressed and annoyed. When we picked it up, they were also extremely helpful in packing everything in the car as well. I decided to try Ravage Deli out after reading an article in the Baltimore Sun that the Food Network listed Ravage Deli's cheese-steaks in the Top 10 List of Cheese-steaks outside of Philadelphia, PA. Being as I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, and have now lived in Baltimore, MD for the past 22 years and have eaten many cheese-steaks from the Baltimore, MD area, curiosity got the best of me. I came here around 11:00 a.m. right when it opened and there were already people in there ordering food, It's a small place with only three tables and then a bar type table at the window with a few chairs. They do have tables and chairs outdoors, which I am sure people use during the warmer months. I ordered the Philly Cheese-steak with everything but hots (a large one) and a small order of duck fat fries to go. I have never heard of duck fat fries until I researched this deli on Yelp and read the reviews and pictures of them. I figured I would give it a shot to see how they tasted. I decided to sit at one of the tables there and eat instead. While the duck fat fries were good, I probably wouldn't get them again, and would stick with regular french fries. The cheese-steak was also pretty good, even though, there are others restaurants/sub shops in the area that I have had really good cheese-steaks from as well. Living in the Carney/Parkville area, this place is a little out of the way for me. However, I wouldn't rule out coming back here in the future if I had the time, or was in the area and wanted to get a sub or sandwich. I got a daily special, a chicken and goat cheese sandwich with arugula and roast red peppers on ciabatta. The ingredients were light and fresh and the chicken was juicy. Alright heres the deal. I used to work very close by to this place and co-workers would always get the Duck Fat Fries. I could eat these every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They are A1-- AMAZING!!! I was here over the weekend with my mother. I had ordered the philly cheesesteak and she ordered the shrimp salad wrap. Let's start with the cheesesteak-- it was okay, nothing special. Very dry, almost sand like. I was really disappointed because I hear amazing things about the cheesesteak. Not mine unfortunately. Also, did not taste any cheese which is my favorite part. Now the shrimp salad wrap-- a million times better than my sub but still not the best. 2/5 stars. There was NO seasoning on it! C'mon, we're in Baltimore.. at least throw some old bay on there! Too much lettuce as well, not enough shrimp. Definitely not worth it for the steep prices. There are too many Chinese and Pizza places around the area so I wanted to try out something different. I came upon this place and saw the great reviews people made. So I decided to order from them twice in 2 days. Was it worth it? Well let's see! First time I ordered, the guy was cool and told me what was popular and recommended me some stuff to get. So I went with what he said and got The Marylander, Duck fat fries, and the Mobtown Classic. Delivery came at a reasonable time. The Marylander was great. Flavorful and hearty. However, I couldn't taste any of the lump crab dip that was supposedly in the sub. None. I tried to focus on that flavor and I couldn't. Maybe my tongue is still healing from all those years of smoking and drinking? Either way I couldn't taste it. I was sad.... :( The duck fat fries were pretty good. Should have gotten their regular fries and compared the differences. The Mobtown Classic was on POINT. From the sauce to their salami and smoked ham. So good! So I decided to order from them again and try something else. I ordered the Noble Pig, Jalapeño Mac N Cheese, and a San Pellegrino bottle. Delivery came about an hour and 20 minutes later. Then when i got the order, they forgot to give me my bottle. The delivery guy said he'll come back and give it to me, which then I said it's okay. I was just so hungry that I didn't care at the moment, just wanted the food.... The food..... o_o But he insisted so I accepted. He didn't come until another half hour later which then I already finished eating my food. But to the food! The Noble Pig was AMAZING. All that pork with the aioli and the bread. The textures were so good. But when I tried the mac n cheese, it was below average. It was basically regular mac n cheese with slices of jalapeño on em. There is only 1 place that had Mac N Cheese please my taste buds. Oh and then when I finally got my bottle of San Pellegrino, it was really warm. Like it's been sitting out in the sun for an hour. Food was hit and miss, depending on what you got. 4 stars. The first delivery was fast but the second wasn't + the drink situation. 3 stars. 3.5 stars so I'm going to round it up to 4. The menu has a lot of influences from crab meat, the many reasons why I love Maryland. From crab Mac and cheese to crab meat stacked on top of deli sandwiches. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak and the Marylander with duck fat fries. The cheesesteak was average but was delicious. The Marylander was stacked with roast beef and slathered with crab dip.
