Went for a birthday dinner and drinks. Service was horrible. The waitress was slurring words, kept forgetting parts of our order, totally screwed up the tickets and looked like she was going to pull her hair out over at the computer bc she couldn't figure out what went where on the tickets And had to ring several people's cards up twice. Very bizarre behavior. She was nice enough and not rude and the food was tasty but we will never go back. The bar tender could have cared less that we were there. When we arrived there was only two other people at the Bar and it literally took two hours to get us our food. I'm only giving three stars because the food was tasty. The service was one star. read more

A solid choice for the neighborhood for sure, with decent food, pretty good service, and my new favorite brew in stock. However, for me, in comparison with other restaurants at the same price point within a couple miles R&D doesn't stand up so well. I really hope they succeed and can make a beautiful space a great place to go, but I fear that they might just become a place to get a couple of drinks before going out to dinner. I dined here with a friend a few weeks ago and had the patty melt, which was disappointing in execution but not taste, and the roasted sweet potatoes which were laughable in portion size and completely unseasoned. It doesn't rate a "meh" but its not something to rave about yet, either. read more

I have been here about a half-dozen times and am rapidly (happily!) approaching the double digits. This place is great. Brunch, duh, because this is Atlanta and if a place is not on point 110% then they are going out of business. Since they're still in business is commentary enough. When this place jumped from 'mushing along with the huskies' to 'Sweet baby Jesus!' was on Valentine's Day. I am not always fully prepared for that day. I still am not but I now know that I don't have to be, I can just call these people up and expect great food, sublime cocktails and other superlatives to be bandied about by my date as we cruise through our meal. I got the swordfish, her the chicken sandwich. Coming from San Diego I have been pampered by good seafood. Not known for its seafood, the city is so close to the water it happens whether or not we try. Fresh, tasty ect. Atlanta so far has been a disappointment. The wonder of modern refrigeration can only go so far, or so I thought. But I was very impressed by my swordfish. Probably because being so close to the Atlantic I've been unintentionally feeding myself shitty swordfish all these years. But kudos to them nonetheless. Her chicken sandwich, by all accounts, made me seem like a genius. So thanks guys. Also I've been here for some group meals, which are usually the bane of any establishment's existence. Like a 12+ dinner. Food came out quickly, drinks were kept full... That's worth an extra star. read more

$18 gnocchi?? When asked why soo expensive the head chef talked about the "expense of the flour, potatoes and baby carrots that make up the dish". Yes, those darn baby carrots, flour and spuds are quite pricey. On Mars! I assumed everything must be organic for that price point but was told none was. "It's locally sourced". I love this new "locally sourced" bit as if that makes it healthy. Just as everything is not beer anymore, it's "craft beer". When I explained to both him and the eye rolling bartender that they could buy the same exact produce, flours, meats and spices at the Dekalb farmers market in Decatur for the same price if not lower but organic they seemed to look at my in 1 of 3 ways... 1.) Why is this guy bothering us about our produce 2.) This guy is annoying but we can't tell him this because he'll write a yelp review. (Whoops!) 3.) What the hell is he talking about I only tried to explain to them and every restaurant that every place that serves food could do more than merely fill your belly. I feel it should be their responsibility as a business. GMO's and poisons sprayed on our produce today have a direct impact on our well being and health. No one takes this seriously and it drives my wife and I crazy. I explained to him how angry it makes me to see poison filled potatoes being served for 18 bucks. Here's 1 of a trillion videos explaining how bad, especially non organic, potatoes actually are. https://youtu.be/0xZFGvfASjg I asked the head chef, (who was actually a really nice guy and I think he really does care about serving a better product. He just isn't informed about this side of food), if he knew what Monsanto was and he had never heard of them. That is scary to me. If you serve any kind of food you should be aware of what you are actually serving. How so many people have no idea who owns the vast majority of the food supply is beyond me. This company sells the seeds everyone grows and the poisons that interact with it! All I'm saying is try harder. Get informed. And sell delicious food that is not only price appropriate but healthy as well. It's really not that hard. Quick example... a bag filled bushel of fresh basil at the Dekalb farmers market? $1.89 Kroger for 1/10th the size from God knows where and wilted? 6 bucks. You can't tell me cost when this huge, healthy market sells quality, healthy products even cheaper than Kroger. Come on man... I like this place and I liked the chef so my wife and I will be back for some drinks. We would both be thrilled to see these things matter in the future. Either way, gnocchi for$18 is waay off the chart for a pub or anywhere for that matter. It's boiled flour and potato. I know, I make them all the time... read more

Tucked away at the end of Arizona ave is this little hidden gem of a restaurant. Total hipster food in a good way! Craft cocktails and farm-to-table food. The portions are pretty good for the price. They also have a little "snack" card where you get can all sorts of things. The pimento cheese is killer! Entrees are huge, salads are great. I mean, I hate to review a salad on Yelp, but it's worthy of deserving one. Get a salad! they rock! Seriously, go here and enjoy something different. The outdoor space is great during the warmer months. Cute place and fun! The upstairs is great for private events and parties too. read more

My party of 5 also came on the first night they had their liquor license. We had a pleasant experience and considering they've only recently opened and will continue to work out kinks, they did a pretty good job on all fronts. We were on a time crunch with only 45 minutes to eat and let our waiter know when we arrived. There was decent traffic at the restaurant this night but our waiter was still very attentive and very friendly/helpful. The ambiance is hip and welcoming. We ate upstairs with the high tables where the large windows and nice lighting create a pleasant environment. The outdoor patio will probably be packed on Friday nights as the weather warms up. In the end, we had an excellent dining experience and made it out on time. The beers are giant specialty beers so the $15 price tag doesn't seem so bad, but we'll be looking forward to some smaller options as they bring in more booze. We tried one specialty cocktail which was quite good. We tried a variety of different dishes. This place is great for bringing a group and sharing food as many of the plates in the $10 range are smaller portion meant to be shared. It's not quite tapas but you would probably still be hungry if you only ordered one of these plates. On the other hand, the $20 chicken pot pie (which comes in an attractive cast-iron skillet -they do a different dinner pie of the day like this) was very tasty and would be too much for just one person (we split it 3 ways). Nothing was bad although I wasn't a huge fan of the duck liver salad (but I think that may be more because I remembered I don't love liver). The beef gyro was decent, the vegan wrap was surprisingly tasty, and ragu turnips were also a surprise but very delicious. One dish came with some pickled stems from some green (collards or swiss chard I believe?) that were really nice, and again a bit unusual. The menu is quite eclectic (at times seemingly all over the place) and features local, ethical meat, and in-season produce which is cool. The place is a little bit off the main road in a somewhat strange location (no other commercial businesses around it) but the facility itself is beautiful and it's worth trying out. Prices are affordable (you can have a nice quality full meal for probably $20-$30 depending on drinks). Ration and Dram is a unique and great dining experience and I will certainly come back again. read more

Had really great service, however, similar lackluster food experiences. We had a great charcuterie plate, but they left off one of the meats until we notified them. The chicken pot pie "skillet" was amazing - tasted fresh and the chicken and veggies were cooked perfectly with a great crust. Yet my husband's patty melt was pretty small and underwhelming - pretty much all bun and no meat (thankfully the pot pie was super filling and we ended up sharing it). Cocktails were great, but the wine list was sparse. Overall a good attempt, but definitely could improve. Price point is a little high for the neighborhood and quantity. read more

Very quiet for a Sunday brunch, which made me a little nervous but it's nice to not have a wait for brunch. First - the menu was strictly breakfast (at 2 pm), not brunch. I was a little bummed bc there were some great looking sandwiches on the website brunch menu but eh, I like breakfast too! I ordered the steak skillet, but they were out of it. Ok, got the eggs Benedict. They were out of andouille, so used Canadian bacon instead. Fine. But, the menu only had about 8 items so it seemed a little weird. Anyways, husband got the chicken biscuit. The food: chicken biscuit was great. Really yummy chicken and the biscuits are awesome. Eggs Benedict - very classic, regular ol' eggs bene which is great but it came out pretty cold. I still ate it all :) the potato hash was good, too. I do wish everything was seasoned more, but I just doused it in salt and was good. Coffee: amazing! I did like the food overall, but being out of half your menu is always a big turn off for me. And there was no one there, so I can't imagine they just went through it all with a huge breakfast rush. Whatevs. I may be back for cocktails. read more

Nice little restaurant with a good atmosphere. We've been a few times, but the most recent time I went for brunch. The food has been good most times we have gone, and this time around it was again very tasty. I went with the Chicken and Biscuits. The Chicken had a good crunch to it and the breading had good flavor. The biscuits were soft and flaky. Also, enjoyed a few of their signature cocktails, which were also very good. They also have a nice little patio area. Overall, a nice little place to have a meal. read more

You've got a lot of work to do to stay open. At the bar, 7 minutes to get a menu, about 10 to get a beer. 45 minutes later our food arrives. Their were about 6 people in the place dining. Sorry guys. Super frustrating, extremely irritating. Not returning. Hope you reorganize priorities. read more

We've been here a few times now and nothing is ever not good: food is excellent, drinks are excellent, staff is BEYOND excellent...even the bathrooms are great! I know this is a very "standard" staple on many menus, but the fries here are to die for! The spicy chicken sammy is insane! The flavors in each dish are well thought out. Who would ever imagine that "crispy mushroom" would be something to make you question every other mushroom dish you've ever had! And the pork chop sammy is from another planet! Don't be deterred by the kimchi! The kimchi is amazeballs! And the chicken and dumplings can possible change your perspective on life! Highly recommend this place! Easy, comfortable, laid back and delicious!!! Also a late night delight! read more

Braised Lamb Neck with couscous flavored with apricots- I've never had lamb neck- and being the glutton for mutton that I am, I had to try it. I came away completely impressed with the lamb neck. While inherently a greasier/fattier cut, it was cooked perfectly. A slight bit of char on the outer surface, bursting with flavor on the inside. I wasn't too excited about the couscous per se, but it worked to complement the heavier flavor of the lamb. All in all, I loved this, and would get it again. Andouille Linguine carbonara- A bit on the salty side, but very tasty. Pan-seared NC Trout- Simple, elegant, and light- exactly what we wanted with this dish. Pana Cotta- smooth, refreshing Ganache- spicy, nutty, chocolatey Flights 3 for $9, or 4 for $12 Definitely want to come back here. read more

Great cocktails and food and great snacks. I like the snacks because I can eat with one hand and keep the other on my iPhone. The tree over the patio provides some really great shade so I can sit outside and stay on my iPhone. And I can bring my dog, which is nice. He likes to go outside and I like my iPhone. Came here recently with my brother. Or maybe my mom. Can't remember - I never really looked up from my phone but whoever was with me said some really nice things about the burger. Real good burger they said? Right? I do remember the Instagram picture they posted of the burger! I was totally on my Phone in the background. Haha! How funny! I met the owner SUPER NICE DUDE. I was looking at my phone and I ran right into this table of people on my way out the door. He said 'hey be careful. You ran into a table full of food." Haha I was like okay I gotta run and I went through this door and I was in the bathroom. I made a vine in the bathroom. It was hilarious. I came out and he asked if I had taken too much of my medication. I was like NO WAY DUDE check out this app on my phone that tells me when to take my medication. read more

Yes, Five Stars. The food is really good, the background and experience and quality shows, even if I'd rate some other places as more favorite. The drinks are also great - having a shorter list of specialties probably helps the quality stay high and the experimentation effective. The service has been consistently good (we had an odd experience right after the opened, but eh, it was right after they opened) But what I love about this place? It has all of that in an environment that's comfortable, attractive, convenient and keeps the noise and music to a level so we can actually talk to one another! I don't know what the intention behind having places be louder than your mom during mating season, and sometimes it's expensive, structural stuff beyond the control and budget of places to optimize. I even like some places which are made to be loud, energetic and so on, but some places really seem to take pride in cacophony over energy. I've been to some otherwise fantastic spots with the food, drinks, service and so on which should have made for a great night, but instead it became a race to eat and get the hell out so we could actually conversate. Hm...aha! Is that it? Turn the tables with annoying noise? Here's an idea: get a repeat customer who'll chirp happily to everyone about you because he didn't have to shout over his farm-raised dooflakus and local-brewed snozberry IPA because he dared to show up with friends. R&D is good and have been improving over the time I've been going. Having a comfortable atmosphere has given me the opportunity to appreciate that. read more

This is my third visit here, and tonight was not good at all. I came with a family member twice before and loved the brussel sprout salad with grilled chicken. Not only is it good, but its truly one of the best salads I've had! So decided tonight to bring a friend along to turn her on to this place. Well that didn't work. My friend and I were greeted by a lady that sat us after wiping off a table for us. She was disengaged from the beginning and we were kind of left at the table. We ordered cocktails - they were brought over and she never asked us if we wanted more. After she continued to walk past us repeatedly, I walked over to get us more cocktails from the bar. After explaining to her that I wasn't trying to offend her by going to the bar, her response was that she wasn't our waiter anyway - she was just trying to help. I will not go back here. After being rude and doing us a favor by waiting on us she was laughing and whispering with one of the owners and it made us both feel that saying something wouldn't matter at all. Its not worth it. There are too many great restaurants here in Atlanta. read more

tl;dr: This place is awesome. Try it out if you're ever in the area. The food is all from local farms... but honestly I couldn't care less about "locally sourced." All I care about is that it's tasty, and I have yet to eat anything here that wasn't amazing. They have a variety of sizes, from little things to nosh on (I highly recommend the pimiento cheese listed on The Pantry cards) to full dinner-sized plates. The menu rotates from time to time, according to what's in season and what they get from the local farmers and markets. Their mixed drinks are all very tasty, and they have a decent beer selection. I wish it would rotate a bit more often, but they always have a dunkel in bottles that I'm a fan of, so it's sort of my staple. The wait staff is incredibly attentive, friendly, and fast. After just a couple of times coming here they started recognizing us when we walked in the door, and after a few months of coming maybe every other week, we get handshakes and "welcome back!" greetings whenever we come in. Atmosphere-wise, the place itself is clean, and sort of industrial looking. The music ranges a fair amount as far as genre (90s music is pretty common though), but is always awesome. And best of all, it's played at the perfect volume -- you can hear it just fine, but it doesn't at all interfere with conversation. I *hate* places that play music so loud you have to raise your voice or even shout to be heard by your dinner companions. Monday night is dollar oyster night, which I highly recommend. They usually do blue points, but sometimes have others in. The one area that's lacking is their wine list. I'm not much of a wine drinker myself, so it doesn't really affect me, but I've noticed that they only have a very few selections as far as glasses of wine (though if you buy by the bottle they do have a much bigger list). read more

Haven't even placed our orders yet and can already tell it was a mistake coming in here. we ordered a cider and a cosmopolitan, cider came after 5 minutes, no Cosmo. Who delivers only one drink to a table of two. Now after waiting ten minutes bartender arrives with the Cosmo. Did he have to go downstairs to mix it? No pork belly on the menu as we've seen in the pictures on Yelp. Seems to be a vegetarian type menu, we settled on the French dip and poutine fries. Because we're a member of PETA, People Eating Tasty Animals! The roasted beef shoulder (the French dip) reminded me of the days when I was making my own steak sandwiches with Steak-Ums. Rolls were so so but not bakery fresh. Only a small hint of horseradish flavor, less than I was expecting. The au jus was greasy, pickle good but not crisp. Turns out we won't be going back here. read more

Ugh, just read some other recent reviews and wish I had read them a few hours earlier because we had similar experience tonight - the food was actually pretty tasty but the service was terrible. My husbands food did not arrive at our table until the rest of us had finished eating. The music was so freakin' loud we couldn't really hear each other. It was miserable being there. Don't go. Too many other options in town to be wasting your time, $$ and patience at this place. read more

Came here for the first time last Sunday for brunch with some friends. Waited about 30 minutes for cocktails and then a little over an hour for our food to come out. Everything tasted good but I don't think I've ever waited that long for food. The waitress wasn't very friendly or apologetic and just seemed very stressed. Other tables around us seemed to be having the same issue. One couple even came and sat down next to us and ended up leaving because no one came to take their order. Not sure if they were short staffed or if something happened but I will not be returning due to the poor service. read more

I wish I could rate this place a 10 star. They have literally the best brunch I have ever had!!!! Their drinks are fire. Everyone makes you feel like family when you walk in. It's a good environment. They go the extra mile to provide a ton of gluten free options! I don't know how people can't rate this place anything other than a 5 star. read more

Came here last Sunday for brunch and it was pretty good. Not a big place, but new enough to not have a huge crowd yet, I guess. Came here with a couple friends; two of us got the Sweet Lady (french toast, ham, gruyere cheese, egg, potatoes) and the other got biscuit and gravy, I believe. We were all really happy with our food. The ham and cheese were inside the french toast, as a sandwich, which I didn't expect, but it was still good. (I'm one of those people who likes syrup on their french toast but think that syrup should never touch breakfast meat, so I had a little bit of an internal dilemma, but it worked out). Service was good, and lots of great looking stuff on the menu, so looking forward to revisiting some time. read more

Great little spot to kickoff my birthday celebrations. My wife and I went to the BBQ joint down the street and it was PACKED and this was on out list of places to try. Glad we went! Tucked away down Arizona is R&D. Craft cocktails and farm2table me it items typically means that it's going to be a little bit more expensive but also better quality. Sat right down, ordered drinks, and the our food. She got a glass a wine and I the Suicide in the Afternoon. If you like tequila then I would also suggest the Paloma. She had the burger which raves about and I had the hot chicken Sammy. This came out AFTER they thought I said trout (not sure how that happened). But the bartender and mgmt really made up for it with impeccable service. That's how I got the Paloma. Now for dessert if you like spicy chocolate...get the Ganache. If not get something else. Overall, this place is definitely a keeper! read more

Patio intimate yet spacious. Service friendly. Sparkling blackberry lemonade is homemade with perfect blend of sweet and tart with serious flavor from blackberry bushes down the street, perfect for afternoon outside. Mains of smoked duck breast medium rare and veggie BBQ sandwich, flavorful and just-right portions to feel satiated but not full. Thursday 06/13/17: Check the menu every month to see if there is something you may like on the website, that's what I intend on doing. I'm in the neighborhood, so I certainly want to like the restaurant. Anywho, I liked the cuban (1st time) as well as the reuben (today). The restaurant is clean and cozy. The service is fine, but not perfect because the lady (she's nice) is so laid-back but I forgive 'em. And they have really clean/well-designed bathrooms. Lastly, I loved the strawberry shortcake for desert. It is so good, and you will just wish that there was more of it. read more

Ration & Dram - Strawberry Shortcake with biscuits - Southern Near Me - Atlanta, Georgia

The first thing I noticed walking in the door was the great atmosphere that the folks at Ration & Dram have cultivated in this spot, nestled between lofts and the neighborhood soccer field. Andy, the owner, is behind the bar crafting delicious cocktails and greets many of his diners by name. The rest of the staff is attentive, knowledgeable and prompt, but never frantic. This is a place I really feel like I can stop in anytime for drinks or dinner and enjoy the time, I've never felt rushed or ignored, as often happens at busy bars. The food I've had has also been great. Pork chop sandwich, duck liver salad, and the patty melt were all delicious. The menu is still fairly fluid, but maintains a good mix of large and small plates, varying proteins and produce. Andy and crew also keep the cocktail menu interesting with a variety of drinks that involve fresh juices, interesting liquers and just last week, their delicious house ginger beer. read more

Dear Ration and Dram: I get the whole hipster too cool for school thing. It's rampant in the east Atlanta restaurant scene. But must your bartenders be actual jerks?? I've been there three times, shame on me, and I won't be paying for pretentious overwrought drinks there anymore andd will encourage everyone I know to go elsewhere. The final straw fornme was the bartender actually rolling her eyes at my request for a Cosmo, which sucked by way. Too cliche for her? Too unimaginative? So sorry..I'm happy to order that normally tasty beverage somewhere else so you don't have to stoop to fulfilling such a pathetic request. See ya and good luck ruining a potentially cool place. read more

A friend I hadn't seen in years and I sat the bar and caught up for hours. Andy, the owner, asked us what we liked to drink. After that good and cocktails arrived almost in time with the conversation. We had shishito peppers, the tartare, some head cheese fritters, the chilled succotash, the peach salad and we split a burger. All of it was delicious, the peppers were a real surprise with simplicity and just enough heat to keep things interesting but not stop the flow of conversation. The cocktails he made us all started with bourbon (a favorite of both of ours) but each one was distinct and matched well with whatever we were eating at the time. We wound up the night with the mulberry creme brulee. Normally the dish is vanilla and a little too sweet for me but this was great and the mulberries that the owner and his family had picked added a needed nuance. It was great. Food, Drink and catching up with old friends sitting at the corner of the bar. It was perfect. Thank you. read more

We have a winner! I instantly fell in love with this cozy hidden gem. I went for brunch but after seeing their bar and handcrafted cocktails I need to come back for drinks ASAP! Service was definitely slow here but our server was nice. I ordered the enchiladas. They were out of pork belly which sucked for the wife so she ended up getting the biscuits and gravy. The food took quite a while to come out. While waiting I sipped on my coffee which was excellent and came in the cutest mug with fresh cream. Once the food arrived it was excellent. My enchiladas were so good! Very flavorful and filling. I had a side of grits which came to me lukewarm. The flavor was on point though. I definitely recommend this place but be patient as the service is slow. Sidenote: our server brought us an order of beignets on the house! They were also yummy. :-) read more

We had brunch today at Ration & Dram and thoroughly enjoyed it. We sat at the bar and had great recommendations for food and drinks. The Bloody Mary was just right and my boyfriend enjoyed his old fashioned. This is a great place to relax and enjoy drinks and brunch. read more

Solid drinks, so-so food. I would recommend just coming here for appetizers and drinks, as the main entrees were rather blah. My burger was not memorable and overcooked. Haven't been here in quite a while. The family checked out the Sunday brunch and had a great experience. Was a rainy day in February so rooftop and outside were closed, but the intimacy and vibe of the bar area was great. Started with the beignets and they were warm and nice an sugary. Perfect start, kids meal was varied and tasty. I had the biscuits and gravy, wife had the tofu scramble. Both were delicious. Service was friendly and timely. Our new go to for Sunday brunch! We will definitely be back for drinks on the roof. If your looking for a great out of the way spot for any meal I highly suggest checking this place out! read more

Oh Ration & Dram, how delicious. Awesome ambiance, LOVED the 80s girl mix that was playing. Seriously wanted to just steal the entire list. Has those huge garage door type windows that can open up the entire restaurant to the outdoors, which is fabulous for this gorgeous weather as of late. Started with the fish & chips, DEVOURED it! Not what I was expecting, but so incredible. Hubby's hot chicken was spicy hot and also fabulous. My panzanella salad was okay, but that's what I get for trying to eat healthy. But dessert. OH. .MY. GOD! THE GANACHE!!!! This has to be one of the BEST desserts I have ever had. Sweet chocolate with just a hint of spice, paired with sea salt and basil oil. It was like a big O in my mouth. Seriously, incredible. Could have done without the pecans, but still AMAZE-BALLS!!! Dear lord, I am ready to drive back over to R&D just for that dessert. I wonder if it's okay if I just starting going by myself for the dessert. So a solid 4 star experience, but a BAJILLION stars for that dessert!!! We'll be back. read more

Their drinks are pretty incredible, and the staff is very attentive. I just stopped in for drinks so I can't speak to the food. The menu layout looked a little schizophrenic but seemed to include attractive, high quality dishes with quality ingredients from local suppliers like the Spotted Trotter. The second level feels a little cramped with a few too many tables and chairs, but other than that, it's nicely furnished and designed -- modern chic I'd say. The scene is a mix of gay/straight, trendy, hipsterish, professional couples. It seems like a great place for a date or small group of friends to hang out and have apps and drinks -- definitely not kid-friendly. Looking forward to seeing this place mature and ramp up their menu. I'll definitely be back to check it out again in a month or so. read more

I have been here 4 times and I have never had to wait for Sunday brunch! Small miracle, right? The food is really good! The staff is attentive and friendly. The food always takes awhile (over 30 min today with 3 tables sat) and they have never had coffee brewed and ready to go. They offer what's left of one pot just to get you going, or say they are brewing a fresh pot. I've only spotted one air pot in the coffee station. Maybe get 2? It's a little frustrating to have to wait for coffee every time, especially when your personality kicks in with caffeine. Lol. I am happy to not have to share the space with a huge crowd, so it's kind of a trade off. I will continue to come in based on the quality of food and service! I highly recommend the Sweet Lady and the yogurt parfait. read more

I might come here again. One reason why I would is because the burger I had was really good. Despite the fact that I ordered med-rare, it was more like rare. The fries were also very good and I don't usually like fries! The thing I didn't really like was the potato chips they were very plain, could have used more salt. The fries were fantastic, little truffle flavor. The on tap beer selection was good, ranging from ciders to stouts. I had the Eventide (Kolsh style) with the burger and a 3 Taverns Oatmeal stout to start. My wife stuck with NC Old Rasputin stout. Service was attentive, food prep & delivery was slow when the restaurant was less than half full. My daughter was disappointed with the drink options. Loved the roasted beets in pistachio butter side we ordered. Overall, I felt the experience was good, but not great. read more

I can't believe I hadn't heard of this place until last week! I went last Friday for dinner, and my friend and I both enjoyed our time immensely. We didn't have reservations and didn't have a problem getting a table (might have been the rain). It's located amongst a bunch of lofts on "the other side of Dekalb" - quiet, residential neighborhood. We shared a panzanella, roast chicken, and a vegetable plate. The panzanella was so delicious! The "crispy bread" (croutons) and tzatziki dressing were perfect. The roast chicken was very tender and moist. I am used to underseasoned food, so I found the chicken a tad on the salty side. The jus from the chicken went really well with the farro that came with the vegetable plate, though. The oyster mushrooms from the vegetable plate was an umami explosion - so good. We got panna cotta for dessert. Flavors were great, but slightly on the less formed side. Cocktail was also really refreshing. I can't for the life of me remember what it was called but it had applejack and some kind of soda. Starts sweet and refreshing and ends with a clean bitter note. I feel like, compared to the quality of the food, it was surprisingly affordable. I think I've gone to many other restaurants in Atlanta that charged more for more poorly executed food. I would definitely give this place a try, for dinner or drinks. read more
