Half pour of one of the beers
Bruce K.

Late dinner after spending the day driving up to Helen and back, then being back at the house to watch the UGA game. Now it's time for more drinks and dinner. Very nice beer list and I love that they offer "half pours" and they're half price. Some local beers and some further away, I enjoyed each of what I had in those cute little mason jars. What's interesting is that Raton & Dram now rotates their kitchen around. Tonight, it was "Jackalope" and they had some great choices though nothing particularly keto friendly. We got the "Smoked Salmon Dumplings" and I had one. Delicious dumplings with cream cheese and smoked salmon topped with "everything panko." Yeah, not keto. Oops. For "main", my choice was the patty melt which included "5 spice tots" that went into the box for my friend to take home. The melt had a tasty spicy sauce that I really enjoyed. This is a nice comfy spot and the sports on TV wasn't loud. Folks were comfy and the service was good. It was a nice spot! [Review 15950 overall - 448 in Georgia - 1455 of 2021.]

Dead End Drinks (formerly known as Ration & Dram) is an industrial-styled restaurant with good eats and cool vibes. I met a bunch of friends for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. We were a party of 6 and were seated fairly quickly. We opted for indoor seating since it was a bit chilly out, although there were several parties sitting outside enjoying the brisk air. I think their outdoor area would be nice during the warmer months, compared to other restaurants that have very basic outdoor seating (missing a little ambiance) but it comes off a little...try-hard. Anyway, I'm preggo so I decided to try their disco? lemonade. I think that was the name. It was REALLY good. Alcohol or no alcohol, it was delicious. I ordered the Lady Bostock, which was a slice of brioche soaked with maple-dijon syrup, topped with ham and gruyere frangipane with an egg and my choice of side. Definitely recommend the Lady Bostock. Yum! I opted for the cheesy grits but should have probably gotten the home fries. I like my grits a very specific way, so it was my fault, not theirs. My husband and I also decided to share the cinnamon roll, which was just okay - not GREAT. I'm glad we got one to share instead of getting one all to myself. It was a bit too sweet and a little too hard for my liking. It didn't taste fresh. All in all, we had a good experience and our waiter was exceptional. My friends from out of town rated their meals a 3.5/5 - so it was just OK. I would maybe try this restaurant again and probably (very likely) get the same thing.

We had a fantastic experience at R&D. We walked in and we're immediately seated. Our waitress was extremely attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu. She kept our drinks full and gave us great reviews of other places we had told her we planned to visit. All of the food was delicious and most of their stuff is made in house from scratch. If you are a fan of spicy I suggest trying their hot sauce. I got the McDowell and added hot sauce and it was delicious. Also, you really can't beat the prices.

Sweet lady - ham and gruyere on challah, topped with egg

I really enjoyed this place for Sunday brunch! The place is small, so be prepared to wait. They ended up seating the 5 of us at the bar in a row, which wasn't ideal, but they were doing the best they could! A couple people were just sitting and talking at their 5-top table for hours after finishing their meals, so what can ya do?! The bartender gave us excellent service and chimed in here and there in our conversation. He was great. The food was even better! A bunch of us (myself included) ordered the Sweet Lady - cured ham & gruyere and an egg between challah french toast. It was divine. The perfect mix of salty and sweet... with a little maple syrup in there. A good thing to order for someone who likes sweet things, but also wants a savory brunch. You could pick a side (between potatoes and grits). Tough because I love both, but I went with the potatoes, and they were large chunks of potato with salt sprinkled all over. It was a great, filling meal. And the bartender treated us all to a cinammon roll to split because of the strange seating arrangement. Also delicious. The restaurant has it's own small parking lot, which is sufficient considering there aren't many seats in this restaurant. I'd say to come early if you don't want to wait for seating (we came at 1 on a Sunday and waited about 20 minutes to sit). I'd be curious to try the dinner menu too!

Outside. Parking lot. This is pretty much it for their parking. You'll have to park on the street (free) otherwise.

We had an enjoyable Sunday brunch at Ration & Dram. I like this place. This is a contemporary New American/Southern restaurant and bar that opened in March 2014 in a freestanding building on the eastern side of Edgewood. It replaced the Arizona Pub (https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-arizona-pub-atlanta). It's located across from the Arizona Lofts and the Arizona Ave Soccer Fields. Free parking is available in a small lot behind the restaurant (about 15 spaces) and on the street. You shouldn't have a problem finding a spot. The restaurant is inside a cool-looking, modern industrial building. There are at least two floors. For Sunday brunch service, only the first floor was open. The first floor isn't very big. I guesstimate they can seat about 12 people at the bar and another 20 or so at tables (including a few high-tops). The storefront has garage-style doors that retract up when the weather is nice. There are more tables out on the patio. The patio and part of the building are enclosed by bushes and trees. We showed up just before 11am and slid into some of the last remaining parking spots in the back lot. We joined a small crowd that had built up outside the door just before the restaurant opened at 11. Apparently, brunch here is popular. We were lucky to show up when we did and were seated immediately at the bar. The place was at or near capacity in a matter of minutes. The atmosphere was laid back and casual. The space looks nice and it was clean during our visit. There's a TV mounted on the wall at one end of the bar. It was playing sports. Ration & Dram serves dinner six nights a week, Wednesday through Monday, and brunch on Saturday and Sunday. The business is closed on Tuesday. Both the dinner and brunch menus are streamlined with less than 20 dishes on each menu. When we visited, prices at brunch ranged from $4 for a bowl of grits to $13 for the "Gringa" (more on that below). At dinner, small plates ranged in price from $4-12 each, entrees $9-20, and desserts $6-7. The kitchen uses high-quality, locally/regionally-sourced ingredients. The bar has an extensive cocktail, beer, and wine menu. Here's what we ordered: Food: -- "Smalls" * Beignets ($1.50 each, minimum of three must be ordered) - fluffy beignets with powdered sugar * McDowell ($5) - English muffin sandwich with breakfast sausage, egg, and cheddar * Hick Fil-A ($5) - buttermilk biscuit, fried chicken breast, pimento cheese, bread and butter pickles -- "Biggies" * Tofu Scramble ($10) - mushroom, tomato, bell pepper, onion, turmeric, and potato hash (grits also an option) * Gringa ($13) - crispy maitake mushroom, two poached eggs, creamy grits, and Gruyere Drinks: * Nitro coffee (small size, $3) * Orange juice ($3) In general, the food and drink were great. We enjoyed everything and I can't say there was a single bad thing. Dish presentation was beautiful. Portion sizes were reasonable. The beignets were delectable. They were fresh and served hot out the fryer. I loved the sweet powdered sugar and how warm, soft, and melt-in-your-mouth good the pastries were. These were some of the best beignets I've had in the city to date. The McDowell and the Hick Fil-A sandwiches are obvious plays on McDonald's Sausage McMuffin with Egg and Chick-fil-A's Chicken Biscuit, respectively. The McDowell even comes wrapped like a McDonald's Sausage McMuffin with a golden-arched "M" stuck on the outside. Funny. The McDowell was quite good with the savory sausage patty being the highlight along with the melty cheddar cheese. I didn't try the Hick Fil-A, but my friend who ate it liked it. It looked yummy. The tofu scramble was delicious. The food was bright and colorful and tasted as appetizing as it looked. Everything tasted fresh with the eggs and tofu being nicely seasoned and particularly flavorful. This was a satisfying dish. The Gringa was unique and excellent. The maitake mushroom, also known as hen-of-the-woods, was served as one whole piece. It had to be eaten with a fork and knife. I've never seen it served like that before and I liked it. The grits were warm and had a wonderful, almost silky smooth, consistency. They were mild in flavor. The mushroom, however, made up for it as it was salty. The eggs may have been the best part. They were terrific quality and perfectly poached. The soft yolks were ideal for mixing in with the grits and mushroom. The Nitro cold brew coffee and the OJ were tasty with simple, neat, and clean presentation. Service was great. The staff was polite and efficient. During a busy brunch rush, they appeared to be on top of things.

Wanted to try this place for brunch. On arrival there was a line out the door. Thinking there would be a wait list to put our name on we walked in front of everyone. No.. that's the line in order to be sat accordingly. We waited for aboht 30min. There seemed to be only 2 servers and a bartender working. The food was good. Got the beignets which were so great. I got the chicken biscuit and made it a plate (2). The breakfast potato's were great! Overall, good place. Would come again hoping the waiting situation is more organized and more servers on staff.

Cute place. Good food portions and decent prices. Food was good, but it lacks a little something that could make it great. I don't have the answers, but would def eat here again and would recommend to others, too. Try it out!

Decided to grab brunch with my kids. My son found this place on tik tok. We did have wait about 20 min to get seated but that is to be expected but the food was really good and the beignets we amazing! The outdoor seating was really nice. It was exactly what we needed after a long week

Beignets and Irish Coffee

Would give 5 stars but I can't stand when restaurant owners don't step in to assist when they're short staffed. Imagine having to host, waitress (inside and outside), and deliver the food to each table -- with an incredible attitude!!!! She's laughing at these ppls lame jokes, giving this one lady special birthday attention, being personable... literally doing all the things you do to make a patron come back!! The bartender is rocking it as well... taking orders, making drinks, being personable -- even answering this girls annoying question about each drink he's ("they" are) making! Love this place but it's the holiday season... plan for people calling out and being short staff so your workers aren't drowning! Thanks guys!!!! Came back to edit this 1.1.2022 This is the 2nd time we've come and only one person is hosting and waiting tables!!!! Unacceptable-- she's sweating profusely and looks exhausted. The day after NYE and you don't have an staff? Just close for the day!

Eggs Benedict and Grits

Wow, the brunch food here is amazing and so is the service! I had the eggs Benedict with a side of grits and a coffee and my partner got the sweet lady with a coffee. The food was flavorful, well balanced, AFFORDABLE, and delicious. The upstairs area is cozy and quiet and has a fun game section. Absolutely love this place, my new favorite brunch place!

Pimento cheese...spicy in a good way.

I'm on my third menu with Ration and Dram, and I have to say that when it comes to cocktails, no one else is better. YEAH, I SAID IT. Their bar does not run deep but they have what it takes to make a miracle in a small glass. I have not had a bad drink here yet, and while I look forward to the new menu offerings with the change of seasons, I lament the drinks of past. (I should probably start writing down the ones I like the most to avoid this.) Ration and Dram's cocktails truly deserve to be called "libations." As for the food, we're still working together. I've never eaten anything I outright hate, but only a couple of things have I loved enough to order more than once. I love what they do with food - I just don't end up liking how it tastes. I've had a whoopie pie here where I loved the filling but was not too happy with the crunchy cookie. I've had more than one kale salad here (because I love kale), but R&D is heavy-handed on dressings. I've noticed this trend with my kale salads and the house salad. I recently had their apple pie dessert and while the sugar cookie crust is beyond delicious, the apples used were too sweet and the skins on them were a bit chewy (in a bad way). I also think their sides are boring (French fries and mashed potatoes in a list of five items - say what?!) On my last visit I was offered a card which listed items available a la carte from The Pantry. My first impression was that The Pantry is a DIY charcuterie plate, but more items are available such as pimento cheese, deviled eggs and local honey. The cheeses included chevre and bleu; and the meats included ham, salami, soppressata and bacon (yum!) Next time, I want to sample items from The Pantry. I think it's a great idea. Service here is very low key. Everyone I've encountered is very, very nice and will talk to you about their drinks, beers, menu items, and favorite bands. I always come fairly early - before 6pm. That's because R&D gets busy, especially later in the week. In the summer a kids' soccer team plays in the field across the street so the kids and their parents come in for dinner often after practice. (This only annoys me a little.) I like Ration and Dram a lot and I would recommend it for drinks and dinner, especially if you're feeling a little experimental. Yelp 100 #8

The Elvis Bananas Foster Child is king!
Lisa H.

For a Friday night, Ration and Dram wasn't too crowded which worked for us. Free parking the back and our nice server Josh were positive early signs. The Thyme After Time cocktail did its job relaxing me after grueling day. In true dork fashion, I texted pictures of the beverage to friends, eliciting envy. I felt myself unwinding after a few sips, ahh. Everyone else at my table liked their cocktails. We nibbled on the pimento cheese and pork belly appetizers while waiting for the mains. I got the burger which had some unique aspects to it such as the smoked tomato and the picked onions. Yummy! Even though I'm typically a raw onion gal when it comes to my cheeseburgers, I must say that these onions were ridiculously addictive; I do love me some vinegar. Now I need to devote a separate paragraph to the dessert. When I spotted a dish called "Elvis Bananas Foster Child," I knew that I could not leave the premises without trying said concoction. Besides the bananas, the Foster Child had kind of like a peanut butter fudge base topped with a layer of chocolate; peanut butter and chocolate are two things I can't turn down. And the best part? It comes in a cast-iron pan shaped like a guitar! Yes, I think I have a crush on a dessert.

Quincey D.

Great food and also great drinks but they were so understaffed that they couldn't handle the amount of customers flexing in and out. Servers were good but you could tell they were extremely overwhelmed. My note is to management would bring to have management available over the weekend and to have a full staffed team to accommodate the amount of people wanting to eat here. Also, your staff was nor particularly nice because you understaffed them. You can tell they are amazing but you (mgmt) need to do better to make sure they have resources for a busy day. Again, food was amazing and drinks were greats, but wouldn't wait in line for the food. We waited 2 hours.

Fantastic sweet potato and spicy!!

Just a warning, the space inside is pretty small--typically there's optional seating outside, but it's really chilly at the moment (although they have heaters)--but there's more seating downstairs in The Victorian Atlanta plant shop. I didn't realize that the two were connected! FYI, if you sit downstairs, you'll be seated next to where the live music performers will be playing, so it will be louder there. As for the drinks, I tried the Zombie. I loved it so much, I ordered a second one instead of trying a different one! It tasted sweet and slightly tropical with the rum and spiced liqueur. It also had some absinthe, which I was worried about when I first ordered it since I hate the taste of it (not a big fan of black licorice flavors), but I didn't taste it at all! Nowhere to wait except standing there like idiots until bartender says we can sit in a reserved section for a bit. Nasty waitress comes by soon after to usher us away, despite conflicting instructions from the bar. Anyway, insult to injury when it appears I've been charged a service charge and a gratuity charge and the dishes were small and mostly not great. The food and drink were solid, and service was excellent. I recommend this place. For details, keep reading. This restaurant opened in October 2015 and has been listed in the Atlanta Michelin Guide since its inaugural edition in 2023. Since the restaurant's opening over 10 years ago, it's become a popular favorite among our friends and acquaintances. We've heard it's also a favorite among food service industry workers in Atlanta. Ticonderoga Club is located inside Krog Street Market. You can enter the restaurant from inside or outside the building. Paid parking is available on site or you can street park for free in the residential area just east of the market. This area of Inman Park and Old Fourth Ward has gotten busier over the past decade; luckily, Dixie Ave NE still hasn't let me down. This is a hip, casual restaurant and bar that describes itself as "a modern American tavern." The bar is known for its cocktails and the cuisine is a mishmash of global influences, as you'll kind of see below. Here's what we had: BEVERAGE Non-Alcoholic * Saline Sibling ($8) - Ginger, lime, hibiscus, tonic, salt * The Ticonderoga Cup ($16) - aged rum, cognac, cream sherry, pineapple, lemon, mint Signature * Nerve Pill ($16) - London dry gin, blanc vermouth, fino sherry, olive DINNER Apps * Green Salad ($12) - local lettuces, radish, shaved Parm, toasted pepitas, sherry-Dijon vinaigrette, herbs * Veal Sweetbreads ($20) - spiced yogurt, rhubarb chutney, crispy shallot, TC masala Mains * Poh's Eggplant ($28) - jasmine rice, Thai basil, mint, Thai chilis, toasted coconut, Bali sauce * Tavern Chicken ($36) - butternut risotto, citrus brown butter, spiced walnuts Table Sides * Roasted Fall Squash ($10) - pepitas, feta, herbs * Wok Veg ($10) - "Any season - Any reason - Wok hei" - edamame Dessert * Key Lime-Fromage Blanc Tart ($12) - sweetened cream, toasted coconut, lime salt In general, everything was delicious. My wife really liked her non-alcoholic Saline Sibling. She said it was refreshing. I liked both of the cocktails that I got. The cognac flavor/scent was strong in the Ticonderoga Cup. The standout dish was the Veal Sweetbreads. Five stars. The Green Salad was also quite good (we love salads). I liked Poh's Eggplant more than my wife whereas she liked the Wok Veg (edamame) more than me. I thought the edamame was too salty. Same for the Key Lime-Fromage Blanc Tart, but to a lesser extent. I gobbled up the Tavern Chicken and Roasted Fall Squash. Dishes like Poh's Eggplant and Tavern Chicken are apparently mainstays on a menu that changes daily. If I recall correctly, the Tavern Chicken is a dish that recently returned to the menu. Everything was presented beautifully. I like the skull-theming, decor, and details here. It's fun and different. Erin K was our server. She was terrific. Friendly and attentive. I used Resy to book our reservation and inKind to pay. Ticonderoga Club is eligible for American Express Global Dining Access benefits and Amex Platinum $100 in statement credits per quarter. I found out about inKind on the restaurant's website. I got $30 off since the visit was $100 or more. I also earned $32.58 in "inKind cash back" to spend at eligible restaurants. inKind reminds me of Seated.

I know the word gets overused, but it truly was a whole vibe. What I loved most is that it's the kind of place where everyone feels welcome. There's no pressure, no strict dress code--just a come-as-you-are energy, and people genuinely receive you that way. Within five minutes of being there, I already felt comfortable. Everyone was so friendly--the bartenders, the people around us, even the random interactions felt warm and easy. The space itself is really cool too. They have artwork featuring icons like Prince, Tupac, and Biggie, which added to the overall atmosphere. They're open until 2 AM, so it's a great spot whether you're grabbing a drink with friends, on a date, or even just stopping by solo to soak in the energy. It's one of those places where you can just be. I'd love to make this a regular spot--definitely somewhere I can see myself coming back to at least once a month.

A great small cocktail spot with an even better happy hour (until 8pm!). All the bartenders were…read moresuper friendly and our dirty martinis were made very well. Definitely would return to try some of their special cocktails

I was in Atlanta for work, and a friend recommended this place to me. I have to say, this spot is…read moreabsolute perfection. From the two hosts at the front, the bar staff in the lounge, to Andy, our waiter, everything was flawless. Andy suggested our first two drinks and surprised us with a complimentary item since we were celebrating my job. He also gave us great advice on how to best utilize the menu, which we followed. The food was incredible, delicious, flavorful, and exceeded my expectations. Andy was genuinely the absolute BEST. He recommended the perfect wine to pair with my steak, and I can't forget the suggestion for the truffle butter. My cousin and I had an unforgettable experience. Plus, everyone we interacted with maintained a five-star level of service. The decor is fabulous, chic, sexy, and sophisticated. Kudos to everyone here! I will definitely recommend this place to all our executives and more. Thank you for a memorable experience.

Agreeing with all other reviewers re the sexy and grown ambiance, however, noting the noise level is on the greater side and if seated across from each other and don't want to shout, there will be a lot of "huh?" going on. Calamari was yummy: coated in crispy corn meal with chopped jalapeno sprinkled in for a nice kick. NY Strip: yummy and well crusted, however, the plate could be hotter. rigatoni w/ lobster: delicious, complex flavor but light. service was decent. Will be back. But it was almost TOO busy on a Thursday night. Might pivot to the bar instead of the main dining room.
