The White Sox fans are hard core so be prepared to be booed if you come in anything but White Sox attire. Good food and had a great time!
Its been ages since I've last visited the White Sox stadium, now Rate Field. There have been a number of upgrades over the years and the improvements are all for the better. For one, food and drink have stepped up a lot. My cousin and I came to see the White Sox destroy the Oakland A's 14-1. A lopsided win for sure but a win nonetheless. A third of the time we walked the grounds, drank, people watched and checked out the shops. We walked past one of the lots, can't remember if it was lot G, but plenty of folks were there spending the entire day tailgating. It's pretty common and if you are able to land a spot in the lot, it's probably one of the best things you can do. We drove in but parked at the ITT lot because all the nearby lots close to 35th street dogs required prepaid coupon. The walk from ITT isin't that bad. It's like 5 minutes. We came on a clear night where they had the fireworks show post-game. I had a nice time and visiting Rate Field to watch the Sox play is one for the summer bucket list in Chicago.
Recently came to a baseball game and had a great time. Affordable tickets with great views and it was very clean. We had a great experience!
Gotta love it when the LA Dodgers take over Chicago! I went to the game on June 13th, 2026 and saw the Dodgers dominate the Sox as always. 2025 MLB World Series MVP, Yoshinobu Yamamoto had a perfect game through 7 innings. Then, Mookie Betts had an error at shortstop, and then a guy on the Sox hit a solo homer in the bottom of the 9th to ruin the shut out. Dodgers win 7-1. I liked walking around the park as this park might have the most statues of any park I've ever been to. I got my picture with Mark Buehrle, Charles Comiskey, and plenty of other White Sox legends. The concourses definitely feel a little tight and old. I don't know what the latest updates are on the Sox getting a new stadium, but this stadium isn't as bad as the Internet makes it out to be. Easy to get here on the train. Getting an uber to leave the game is a nightmare.
Absolutely loved my experience at Rate Field. I was excited to try new food choices, which we definitely did, and to see improvements since the last time I was there. We sat in the 300 level seats, so it was an option to order to your seat, which was very nice. The seats were excellent views of the field and scoreboard. Foods we tried: Polish Sausage- wow with the onions, yeah great Bulgogi Egg Rolls- just don't overthink it and order them, unbelievable Cookie Dough- ugh, not my thing, cold maybe would be better Sushi- great, cute, even comes with a vile of soy sauce Korean Dog- I did not try, but the friends said it was really good Nachos- GREAT, you can get them with the helmet Parking in the B lot was a breeze and you can tailgate, getting out, still a ton faster than Dodger Stadium!
First time at a Sox game and we had a blast! Sox vs Royals, we didn't secure the win and those Royals fans came out deep and proud! We all had a great time at the game! The weather was great, hot and humid lol we sat in section 152 which was perfect! Shaded area and close to all the great eats! We had some veggie pierogis, veggie hot dogs, nachos, beer and that s'mores milkshake! Omg! I was on a hunt for the milkshake and it didn't disappoint! All the food was amazing! It was easy to get to the game, very minimal traffic, parking was easy to find and a very short walk to the ballpark. It's a great ballpark, nice, clean and organized. Easy to navigate through and the concession folks were nice.
Rate Field was wonderful. RF is a baseball park the way they should be. Access was drop dead easy with the CTA. I arrived without a ticket 10-minutes before a game and was able to catch "Thunderstruck" as the game was beginning. I found the staff members very friendly and affable. Finding our seats was easy and even though we sat in the 500s our view was good. Bathrooms are ridiculously clean for a ballpark. There is easy water refilling stations throughout the concourse which made our visit on a hot day easy. The food options are tremendous as well. I can see why RF has a great reputation for food. The actual field and board are also great. I am really happy I visited with my kid. I only wish I could visit more.
Great Sunday day game experience--excellent gluten-free options and Hello Kitty fun! We visited Rate Field for a Sunday day game to catch the Sox and grab the Hello Kitty package. Overall, it was a fantastic first experience! A huge tip for anyone going to a weekend game: pre-pay for your parking. It completely sold out, so we were incredibly glad we bought ours in advance. We parked in Lot C, and it was a surprisingly short, easy walk straight to the stadium. As someone looking for gluten-free (GF) options, I really appreciated that they have a QR code you can scan for a list of concessions to see exactly what can be made GF. The only downside is that while they do offer gluten-free fries, they are only available up in the 300 section. We were seated in the 100 section, but we still had great options. We were able to get a GF hot dog and a GF pizza. The pizza is a personal-sized whole pizza that takes about 5-7 minutes to bake. I loved that they actively try to avoid cross-contamination by placing the pizza on foil. If you just need a quick snack, they also have a convenient grab-and-go section with drinks, chips, and peanuts (which are explicitly listed as GF). It was a wonderful first visit, and we will definitely be back for another game!
Good stadium. The team is trying to turn it around so better fans in the crowd. Much better young talent on the field. Fun place to be. Food was good. Ice cream was standard. Mascot photo in the kids clubhouse in the 5th inning. But you can't enter unless you have a kid!
Great Stadium , great to bring friends and family and have a beautiful time and watch some baseball
We had so much fun with the patio E love. Free food and drinks. Gsme was dope. Go white Sox.
Editing this before first pitch and this is why: was eagerly awaiting to go eat at Lucky's as it was close to our seats the other day, but since we ate at the ChiSox Bar and Grill because of the rain delay and I was full, I planned on eating there tonight. Well, tonight we did not get 100 level tickets so we couldn't even go on the concourse !!!!! WTF? This is my 24th baseball stadium and I've never heard of such stupidity--- I guess you don't want me to spend my money where you have better food choices than crappy $5 hot dogs ( although I got an $8 plus Vienna one.. and it sucked) From a 4 star to a two star review....Also, what if it was our first time at the stadium like two days prior, and we wanted to see all the statues, etc., and get a feel for the stadium but could not??? So, two games here and done . Too bad, great stadium and the BEST fans but GO CUBBIES Second time here in 2 days. The good: *easily accessible by rail *dedicated and diehard fans (one youngest kid, mid 20s? And obviously had been drinking, apparently bumped into my husband, unbeknownst to him, and tracked my husband down about five minutes later to apologize. I mean, who does that? Very impressive.) *beautiful stadium/ great scoreboards with pertinent stats *awesome organist *huge 2 story team store with lots of merch and several life size bobble heads *dedicated first time game booth with certificates and button ( thanks Allie!) * What appears to be a fantastic kid zone, but if you don't have kids under 12, you can't go in. Keeps out the pervs and I respect that * Very friendly and helpful security (Carl at the 100 level) /ushers/employees *lots of statues, history ( mostly on the 100 level) *several restrooms, kept clean with attendants right there *lots of food choices including perogies/ empanadas combos --couldn't get this either :( * Fun fan giveaways ( got my pope hat!) with fantastic lineup . Pregame band and continuous theming all day * the option to pay a fee to guarantee you will get a giveaway if you can't make it to the stadium early Cons: * so we were able to walk in with water bottles, but security at the gate took our plastic bag holding them ; for what purpose I don't know? Wanted to put our giveaways and dirty ice cream helmets in there. *the ice cream was terrible , and I rarely complain about ice cream * Not sure why you don't offer women's Jewelry such as FOCO, BaubleBar, etc. Missing a huge market. Same for Montana West and Dooney purses *once again security not letting fans onto the 100 level on pope night ( 8/11)
Elite MLB experience in the city of Chicago. The stadium is always clean and there are plenty of food and beverage outlets. Not a bad seat in the house

Very nice ballpark, the atmosphere was very Chicago! Great food and great people. Take the train it's the best way to get there. read more
There are so many fantastic things to say about Sox Park. I came to see the Dodgers/White Sox game and was impressed by how kind and gracious all the vendors and people who work at the ballpark were to us. As we walked up to the enormous line at the will call ticket booth I noticed a couple of vendor food booths set up next to the ticket area. A rep from the ice cream vendor booth handed us free Edy's ice cream cups with chocolate/peanut butter and vanilla ice cream. I was also impressed to learn that Sox Park is pet friendly. I don't believe they allow dogs inside t he ballpark, which is understandable. On that note doggy day care is available as they have pet facility where you can check in your four legged fur babies so they can chillax "doggy style" while your watch the game. The doggy check facility is located in a shady area to the left of the main entrance at the back of a grass run. We entered through the Chicago Sports Depot, which is the main athletic clothing store and did some shopping before we actually went into the ballpark. While shopping in the store we meandered upstairs to the second floor of the store and realized that an obscurely hidden entrance to the ballpark is next to the store 2nd floor exit. Once inside the park we checked in to the MLB At the Ballpark app and got a free classic tee shirt, found the concession booth that had grilled brats, nachos, and drinks, and went to our seats. The park workers were all very helpful in directing us to our seats...which happen to be behind 1st base. I was impressed by how friendly everyone who works at Sox Park is and how friendly and helpful they all are in answering questions from their guests. As an added bonus Sox Park is just a 5-minute walk from the light rail Red line...a convenient option for those of you who don't want to deal with the extra cost for parking your car. read more

I attended games at the old Comiskey (great old quirky stadium), and then at the original "new" Comiskey (not great... too much cement), and now the redesign of New Comiskey (now renamed U.S. Cellular...aka "the Cell"), and the opening up of center-field really made this ballpark a lot nicer and brings it to the full 4 star field. Love the fireworks scoreboard Love the "shower" in left field... brought over from the old ballpark Love the right field bar where you can watch the game through the fence. Love that you can ride the "L" directly to the game from downtown. Love the "black out" when fans all dress in black and are super loud supportive of the team. Love that they won the World Series recently and are still competitive in recent years. Negative... not much nightlife surrounding the stadium. read more
It had been a while since I came here last, I was 14 years old. I was pleased with the selection of food from Beggars pizza in addition to the standard ball park hot dog fare. I also thought the Revolution tap room was cool. Having craft beer at a Major League ballpark is certainly a win. My friend claimed the room look like it belonged in a surburban office park in the 80s. It had fluroscent lighting. The tap room could be jazzed up a little maybe some different carpet as well. The night was Elvis night which was interesting and somewhat amusing. Baseball is an old game and I fully adknowledge that it was bigger in the 19th century before the rise of other form of entertainment. I like the history and it's connection to the past. Kinda boring as a sport.Even with the ball park prices somehow it still seems cheaper than Wrigley. read more

I was given tickets on the fly from a friend of a friend and decided to take advantage of the situation by experiencing for the first time VIP Stadium Club seating and treatment at a Sox game. The website states "You will experience the batter's view of the action as you and your guests enjoy first-class dining and amenities." Well, nothing could be further from the truth. We had to fight and claw to get a window seat (we were very lucky). I ordered a beer with a glass and you can see how dirty the glass was that she gave me in the pic below. I noticed she wiped the glasses down first for anyone else that ordered a drink. Nice. I've never had prime rib before. The club section was offering it as a sandwich so I ordered one. I was excited about it. Well, that excitement went away when another customer came back with his prime rib sandwich and said it was cold. It went to my seat with mine only to find out the same thing about mine: it was cold. I sent it back and asked for a burger thinking I could get that fresh. As you can see in the pic the cheese is not even melted on the burger. My best friend ordered a foot long hot dog, only for it to be as cold as the prime rib. VIP Club??? (The Sox lost this day 6-1 to the Tigers. Can it get any worse???) A couple of things you need to know about the Stadium club: 1) An extra $5 charge after the first pitch to sit near the window, 2) You have to purchase a stadium ticket to purchase a club ticket, 3) You cannot bring stadium concessions inside the club. 4) 18% gratuity is automatically added to your bill, regardless of the number in your party. I guess the club is good for: 1) bathroom use, 2) bad weather days, 3) not dealing with a lot of drunks and crowds. But as far as it being a VIP Club, and since this review will be posted at the beginning of the baseball season, Guarantee Rate Club, as the umpire would call it "Yoooouuuu're out!!!" read more
Guaranteed Rate Field has come a long way. They have become a lot more fan friendly in recent years. They always pretended to be fan friendly having a lot of attractions and activities for the kids. If your seats were located on the main concourse. There was a time when the park was US Cellular Field if you had seats in the upper deck they would push you upstairs when you entered the park. They would not let you on the main concourse where everything was. One particular time was when they unveiled the Frank Thomas statue and had a ceremony before the game, we couldn't even go down just to get a look at the statue. This has changed in the last few years. This park is beautiful and clean. Unlike that hole in the wall on the north side. If you want to come to a game that's affordable, they have $7.00 tickets in the upper deck. Food and drink are always expensive at any ballpark but at least you can get in on the cheap. I love bringing family and friends to this park. We always have a great time! read more
Love coming here because it's close to home and doesn't cost an arm and a leg for great seats. They have a couple great promotions that I love to take advantage of. Wednesday's is dollar hot dog night.. which really beats the 6 dollar regular cost. If you have a family of 4 or a group of friends that want to go you can get 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 bags of chips, and 4 pops for $49! If you want to upgrade your seats you can get the same deal with 100 level seats for only $99! Guaranteed Rate Field has so many great dining options compared to other parks as well. You can get giant nachos in a baseball helmet, soft serve ice cream, Mexican Street corn, and so much more! Let's go White Sox! read more
The nostalgia for this park runs deep for this southsider so take whatever you will from this review with a grain of salt. Been coming here since the park opened in '91. Trust me it has only improved since then. There isn't a bad seat in the house, great views everywhere -- Im partial to the bleacher seats personally. If you're an out of towner coming to Chicago please know this park CONSISTENTLY is voted #1 for having the best food among MLB ballparks. Go get lit on Baderbrau Southside beer, eat a polish sausage (or 3), save room for churros and high five the Carlton Fisk statue on your way out. read more
I am shocked right now that I'm giving this place a 5 star rating but I really am. I last went here in 2016 and it was terrible. The food was bad and the service was even worse and I gave it a 1 star. But things have changed at this Southside White Sox bar & grill. I went for lunch before Mondays labor day game and I had such a great experience I came back the next day for dinner before my Cleveland Indians played the Sox. Both days I had Eli as my server and he was superb. He was attentive and more importantly he got my order right. The food was really good and really affordable. You can't beat a price of 8 bucks for a burger and fries at a major league baseball game. Next season I'll be back. read more
Awesome field with great selection of food n drinks inside. Great did family too, as they hv plenty of entertainments for children. So catch a game, hang with friends and play with ur children here! Did u know that families with children can roam freely in the building, going up and down as they please? This is because the children activities are located on different floors. So yeah for being a parent. Did I mention that it usually cost more to be at lower decks with better views? Better food? And better crowd and atmosphere? Yeah... loving parenthood with its benefits! Lastly, children also get free tickets when u sign up to white Sox kids club. Hint hint! read more
Decent ballpark. The food options aren't incredibly diverse. I was disappointed to learn that Wow Bao was no longer at the park. The beer selection is limited at most locations. There is a venue in the outfield with more options, but you have to get to it. read more

My home baseball park! I know people get all crazy about Wrigley Field, but while it's cool, I'm not a fan of the Cubs. I'm South Side, and this is my home. The food is great! And the team is usually pretty bad, so if you look hard, quality seats at a bargain can be had. The jumbotron is state of the art, and the Kid's Zone if awesome for the youngsters. Lots of quality beer options. Cool shops. The White Sox are also constantly doing cool promotions, so check the schedule! Last night we got Star Wars Night and fireworks. read more

During a recent visit to Chicago my best friend was awesome and surprised me with tickets to the White Sox V. Cubs matchup in August. The game was held at U.S. Cellular Field. This was my very first visit to this ball park, but I hope it won't be my last. The ball park is really nice, and huge! There were so many people there to see the White Sox play the Cubs, and even though it was a sellout it never felt over crowded. There is plenty of room everywhere in the ball park, the lines never too long, and the stadium seats are very comfortable. After the game there was a fireworks show that was really neat. I have no idea if they always have the fireworks show after games or if they just did it because the two Chicago teams were playing each other, but it made for a great ending of the night after a great game! read more

***US Cellular Field is a comfortable place to watch a game and the stadium feels nice and new, but there is nothing special about it; this stadium lacks the charm and history of nearby Wrigley Field as well as the unique and nice designs of the newer ballparks like AT&T Park, Chase Field and Petco Park; the subway / elevated train stops right at the stadium, which is a nice plus*** US Cellular Field is a relatively new baseball stadium and you can tell with the open feel and the design touches throughout the stadium (as well as the nice, clean and new exterior). US Cellular Field is a pleasant stadium (good sight views) and a comfortable place to watch a baseball game, but it lacks the character of other new stadiums like AT&T Park, Chase Field and Petco Park. There is also no integration of the city skyline, which a lot of the newer stadiums like PNC Park and Busch Stadium do very well. US Cellular Field, like those other new stadiums, is fun to walk around. There are a few sculptures of players throughout the stadium (like Frank Thomas) as well as plaques and glass cases commemorating their World Series win a few years ago (I forgot all about that). There also seems to be fun stuff to do before the game like a speed pitch. The stadium has a lot of concessions and there is a wide variety of food (though I did not have much). There were burgers, pizza, Mexican food, and Chicago Style Dogs. They also had several small stands selling bratwursts and Italian sausages made on a flattop. I tried one of their Italian sausages. It was pretty good. It was juicy and had a good spiciness though the sauteed onions were way too soggy. I tried their chocolate and vanilla soft serve as well. The soft serve was pretty good--good flavor and not runny. I also looked for chocolate malts, but those seem to be harder and harder to find at stadiums. I did not see any here. Their gift shops were okay. They were not huge nor did they have a great variety (like the gift shops in Cincinnati and San Diego). The crowd was pretty good though there was an inordinate amount of Yankees fans in attendance. At times, there felt like more Yankee fans than White Sox fans. US Cellular Field is okay, but it lacks the charm and history of Wrigley Field as well as the more unique designs of some of the newer baseball stadiums, which make it a decent place to watch a game though not a must visit (unless you are trying to visit every MLB baseball stadium). US Cellular Field is comparable to Progressive Field (Cleveland), but I like Progressive Field more. I imagine parking is expensive around here. A lot of people take the train to get here and (like Wrigley Field) the train is quite packed before the game. read more

This one if the best ballparks I have ever been to. It is a great place to see a ball game. If your kid doesn't want to sit in a seat for hours, bring him/her to the kids section. It is a great place for your kids. The only thing I don't like about is that it faces a highway, it should face downtown Chicago. But otherwise it is a great ballpark to go to. read more

Not to psychoanalyze anyone or anything here, but U.S. Cellular seems to have a hot dog fetish. Seriously, the culinary options are second to none - even for vegetarians as this park was rated one of the most veggie friendly in baseball - but they really hype up the hot dogs. So much so, they give them away for $1 a piece if you get there far enough before the opening pitch (and on certain holiday weekends for the entire game). The deal doesn't apply to veggie dogs (these are still $3.75) but it doesn't matter. The Cell is still seemingly the more manly park in Chicago - or at least the more phallic one. No offense to Wrigley Field, it's a national treasure and the Cubs are my National League team. But I'm glad that this is the park I come to multiple times a year as an opposing fan (go get 'em Tigers). This park just feels more like Chicago. This is the park you can stand at the top of the ramp and see complete Chicago skyline lit up like an average Wrigley attendee after a game. This is the park where you can hear "the accent." And this is the park where complete strangers talk about baseball and not the identical raging keggers they attended last weekend at completely different colleges. But beyond that, what I really love is this is the park where you can buy a cheap 500 level seat for a 7:11 game (and there are half price tickets available to a lot of games at goldstar.com) and get the same amenities as if you spent bigger money in the lower deck. In the 500 level seats, there's still the Sauza margarita man. There's still a churro stand. There's still a customizable jersey shop. And in the 500 level, the fan gets something special - the Beers of the World stand. For $7.25, a Guinness keg can worth of beer in a plastic cup can find its way into your hands (or an Old Style or a Stella Artois or over a dozen other beers). Not a bad deal since a Miller Lite from a vendor is $6.75. And the party is in the 500 level as well. "Comiskey" is not a staid, classy stadium. The rock music and rap tunes blast throughout the game (for good or bad). So even on the occasions when my team gets beat, I still can't help but dance at least once. And I swear if the Cubs ran out onto the field to an eardrum shattering playing of AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" before every game, they would win 10 more games a year. It's intense! A lot of people hate on the modernity of U.S. Cellular or the naming rights or a dozen other things. But this park is the Chicago one I prefer. Now if only a team I hate didn't play there. Or if they'd at least make the veggie dog $2 for an early arriving herbivore. read more
Regardless of who you root for, it's an easy decision who's got the better park. Sure Wrigley's got history, but you also have to pee two inches from a drunken frat boy who's got a wad of dip in his mouth. The Cell is newer, nicer, and much more accessible than the north side stadium. Food options are better and they offer 3 lb banana split that's served in a Sox helmet. I know the Cubs are having a great year and that's cool for them, but the good guys in black definitely get to play in a better park. read more
A ball game here is a guaranteed good time. The fans are usually friendly, it's clean and a fun atmosphere. Of course food and drinks are going to be overpriced, so I can't dock them stars for that. This past season I went to the blackout game, which was awesome! Everyone was in such a good mood and it was a really exciting game! Parking is extremely expensive, so I suggest taking the train, walking or other transportation if possible. P.S. Just because I wrote a review for Cellular Field does not necessarily mean I am a Sox fan. read more
My company hosted a customer event at Guaranteed Rate Field. The space was amazing, the staff was accommodating and the food was really good too. The suite space allowed for our product expo and provided private seating as well. Everything was going great until weather caused the game to be cancelled. Nothing anyone could do about that. Luckily, our event still had a good turn out; we just weren't able to watch the game. I can highly recommend this venue for corporate events. I would love to see more beer options offered for these events. Chicago has a great craft beer community and bringing their beer into an event like this would help enhance the connection to Chicago. read more

I'm a Bulls fan so the United Center will always be #1 to me, but Sox Park comes in a very close second. Easy to get to via public trans, but parking is decent too -20 bucks right next to the stadium (Fuck you Wrigley Field). Even in the nosebleed seats you can get a great view of the field which may or may not be a good thing pending on how the Sox are playing (last place? Good job White Sox! O_o) On to the food. It's bad and it's not cheap (as most stadiums tend to be). But hey! If you're going to enjoy a $9 Budweiser and $8 nachos, this would definately be the place to do it. The cashiers are slow as molasses but they do have a rather cheerful demeanor. Even if you're not a baseball fan, this place is worth checking out, be it a tourist or long time Chicagoan, go here. Oh, and did I forget to mention "Fuck Wrigley Field"? :-) Go people! Go! read more
Not exactly the most scenic location like some of the MLB parks I have visited, The Cell does earn extra points from me on ease of use. This is stop #20 on my quest to visit all of the MLB parks. Right off the Dan Ryan Expressway, this park has tons of parking. Lots of Rambo like traffic directors get you in the parking lots and work twice as hard after the game to get you out! Also, right off the red line, unfortunately for us, it was closed for renovations while we were in town. Although I did feel more comfortable visiting the south side of Chicago in my rental car. Accessibility for big crowds is obvious here, gigantic ramps get you to your section. We were surprised to find that you are stuck where your seat is at. Meaning, we couldn't visit the upper deck. Likewise, they could not visit us. We visited during a very exciting celebration "Half Way To St. Patrick's Day"!! Never heard of it? Well, you have now. It's an excuse for devoted baseball to dress up in their finest green, drink too much beer and make a**es of themselves. At least, that's what was happening with fans near us. Has-been hunks talking trash and shocking little kids with their language. No ushers at this park. And security was busy drinking green beer, no control over obnoxious fans. Freebies for the first 20,000 fans was super cute green and white baseball caps. I love mine! Another plus was fireworks night complete with Scottish melodies! I am not so sure I get the "exploding scoreboard". Although I do like the Comiskey hot dogs. Not too many beer choices. And Pepsi. I don't like Pepsi. Even Southpaw was disappointing. That slacker was suppose to appear right by our section. Little kids cried waiting for him, he never showed up. The game was another disappointment. For Sox fans. Although they never showed it. They were completely out of the game. Until the last inning. They scored one run. And the fans went wild. I guess sometimes you have to be happy for whatever you can get. Final score 8 to 1. I know I have complained a lot in this review. The fact is, I really loved my visit here. Decent park. Really. read more
U.S. Cellular Field is a really solid all-around ballpark. It's a little older than the new "retro" style ballparks, but they've done a lot of work to it over the years and kept it looking very clean and modern. Definitely one of the better parks I've been to in the MLB ... too bad they don't have a better team playing there! (ha!) It's easy enough to get there on the Red Line trains, just a couple minutes of walking to get into the ballpark. It probably should be noted that if you have tickets for the upper deck, they don't give you access to the lower level areas at all! The one thing I don't understand is the odd lollipop-things they have above the Jumbotron... they light up with homeruns, but other than that... they just seem misplaced. Oh well, whatever! read more
