Its been ages since I've last visited the White Sox stadium, now Rate Field. There have been a number of upgrades over the years and the improvements are all for the better. For one, food and drink have stepped up a lot. My cousin and I came to see the White Sox destroy the Oakland A's 14-1. A lopsided win for sure but a win nonetheless. A third of the time we walked the grounds, drank, people watched and checked out the shops. We walked past one of the lots, can't remember if it was lot G, but plenty of folks were there spending the entire day tailgating. It's pretty common and if you are able to land a spot in the lot, it's probably one of the best things you can do. We drove in but parked at the ITT lot because all the nearby lots close to 35th street dogs required prepaid coupon. The walk from ITT isin't that bad. It's like 5 minutes. We came on a clear night where they had the fireworks show post-game. I had a nice time and visiting Rate Field to watch the Sox play is one for the summer bucket list in Chicago.
Absolutely loved my experience at Rate Field. I was excited to try new food choices, which we definitely did, and to see improvements since the last time I was there. We sat in the 300 level seats, so it was an option to order to your seat, which was very nice. The seats were excellent views of the field and scoreboard. Foods we tried: Polish Sausage- wow with the onions, yeah great Bulgogi Egg Rolls- just don't overthink it and order them, unbelievable Cookie Dough- ugh, not my thing, cold maybe would be better Sushi- great, cute, even comes with a vile of soy sauce Korean Dog- I did not try, but the friends said it was really good Nachos- GREAT, you can get them with the helmet Parking in the B lot was a breeze and you can tailgate, getting out, still a ton faster than Dodger Stadium!
Gotta love it when the LA Dodgers take over Chicago! I went to the game on June 13th, 2026 and saw the Dodgers dominate the Sox as always. 2025 MLB World Series MVP, Yoshinobu Yamamoto had a perfect game through 7 innings. Then, Mookie Betts had an error at shortstop, and then a guy on the Sox hit a solo homer in the bottom of the 9th to ruin the shut out. Dodgers win 7-1. I liked walking around the park as this park might have the most statues of any park I've ever been to. I got my picture with Mark Buehrle, Charles Comiskey, and plenty of other White Sox legends. The concourses definitely feel a little tight and old. I don't know what the latest updates are on the Sox getting a new stadium, but this stadium isn't as bad as the Internet makes it out to be. Easy to get here on the train. Getting an uber to leave the game is a nightmare.
First time at a Sox game and we had a blast! Sox vs Royals, we didn't secure the win and those Royals fans came out deep and proud! We all had a great time at the game! The weather was great, hot and humid lol we sat in section 152 which was perfect! Shaded area and close to all the great eats! We had some veggie pierogis, veggie hot dogs, nachos, beer and that s'mores milkshake! Omg! I was on a hunt for the milkshake and it didn't disappoint! All the food was amazing! It was easy to get to the game, very minimal traffic, parking was easy to find and a very short walk to the ballpark. It's a great ballpark, nice, clean and organized. Easy to navigate through and the concession folks were nice.
Rate Field was wonderful. RF is a baseball park the way they should be. Access was drop dead easy with the CTA. I arrived without a ticket 10-minutes before a game and was able to catch "Thunderstruck" as the game was beginning. I found the staff members very friendly and affable. Finding our seats was easy and even though we sat in the 500s our view was good. Bathrooms are ridiculously clean for a ballpark. There is easy water refilling stations throughout the concourse which made our visit on a hot day easy. The food options are tremendous as well. I can see why RF has a great reputation for food. The actual field and board are also great. I am really happy I visited with my kid. I only wish I could visit more.
We had so much fun with the patio E love. Free food and drinks. Gsme was dope. Go white Sox.

Great Sunday day game experience--excellent gluten-free options and Hello Kitty fun! We visited Rate Field for a Sunday day game to catch the Sox and grab the Hello Kitty package. Overall, it was a fantastic first experience! A huge tip for anyone going to a weekend game: pre-pay for your parking. It completely sold out, so we were incredibly glad we bought ours in advance. We parked in Lot C, and it was a surprisingly short, easy walk straight to the stadium. As someone looking for gluten-free (GF) options, I really appreciated that they have a QR code you can scan for a list of concessions to see exactly what can be made GF. The only downside is that while they do offer gluten-free fries, they are only available up in the 300 section. We were seated in the 100 section, but we still had great options. We were able to get a GF hot dog and a GF pizza. The pizza is a personal-sized whole pizza that takes about 5-7 minutes to bake. I loved that they actively try to avoid cross-contamination by placing the pizza on foil. If you just need a quick snack, they also have a convenient grab-and-go section with drinks, chips, and peanuts (which are explicitly listed as GF). It was a wonderful first visit, and we will definitely be back for another game!
Good stadium. The team is trying to turn it around so better fans in the crowd. Much better young talent on the field. Fun place to be. Food was good. Ice cream was standard. Mascot photo in the kids clubhouse in the 5th inning. But you can't enter unless you have a kid!
Editing this before first pitch and this is why: was eagerly awaiting to go eat at Lucky's as it was close to our seats the other day, but since we ate at the ChiSox Bar and Grill because of the rain delay and I was full, I planned on eating there tonight. Well, tonight we did not get 100 level tickets so we couldn't even go on the concourse !!!!! WTF? This is my 24th baseball stadium and I've never heard of such stupidity--- I guess you don't want me to spend my money where you have better food choices than crappy $5 hot dogs ( although I got an $8 plus Vienna one.. and it sucked) From a 4 star to a two star review....Also, what if it was our first time at the stadium like two days prior, and we wanted to see all the statues, etc., and get a feel for the stadium but could not??? So, two games here and done . Too bad, great stadium and the BEST fans but GO CUBBIES Second time here in 2 days. The good: *easily accessible by rail *dedicated and diehard fans (one youngest kid, mid 20s? And obviously had been drinking, apparently bumped into my husband, unbeknownst to him, and tracked my husband down about five minutes later to apologize. I mean, who does that? Very impressive.) *beautiful stadium/ great scoreboards with pertinent stats *awesome organist *huge 2 story team store with lots of merch and several life size bobble heads *dedicated first time game booth with certificates and button ( thanks Allie!) * What appears to be a fantastic kid zone, but if you don't have kids under 12, you can't go in. Keeps out the pervs and I respect that * Very friendly and helpful security (Carl at the 100 level) /ushers/employees *lots of statues, history ( mostly on the 100 level) *several restrooms, kept clean with attendants right there *lots of food choices including perogies/ empanadas combos --couldn't get this either :( * Fun fan giveaways ( got my pope hat!) with fantastic lineup . Pregame band and continuous theming all day * the option to pay a fee to guarantee you will get a giveaway if you can't make it to the stadium early Cons: * so we were able to walk in with water bottles, but security at the gate took our plastic bag holding them ; for what purpose I don't know? Wanted to put our giveaways and dirty ice cream helmets in there. *the ice cream was terrible , and I rarely complain about ice cream * Not sure why you don't offer women's Jewelry such as FOCO, BaubleBar, etc. Missing a huge market. Same for Montana West and Dooney purses *once again security not letting fans onto the 100 level on pope night ( 8/11)
Fantastic scenic spacious baseball stadium not to be missed! EVERY seat has great views, access to a plethora of food options, restrooms, walkways and more. Affordable tickets, menus and merchandise. Fun fan games on the scoreboard and around the stadium keeps fans excited and engaged. Staff service always friendly, professional and efficient. Spot Hero parking recommended and reasonably priced especially for minimal walking to gates.
Elite MLB experience in the city of Chicago. The stadium is always clean and there are plenty of food and beverage outlets. Not a bad seat in the house
I returned for our first White Sox outing in, wow, 4 years already. The stadium now goes by Rate Field, although I had gotten used to calling it Guaranteed Rate Field. Pope Leo has also apparently brought some luck to the South Side, and the Sox are in 1st place. In some 60+ years of watching Chicago baseball, I came to this park for the very first time that I can recall with the Sox in 1st place, woot woot! I'm still sticking with a 5 star rating for Rate Field with the main reason being that good tickets here are very reasonably priced and available for a family outing, unlike at Wrigley Field. I bought 7 tickets for our family outing and only paid $29 per ticket on StubHub for right field upper deck section 522, row 3. They were nice shaded seats, that I picked by design, for a hot sunny day and pretty good seats also. You can hardly get 7 seats together at Wrigley Field on a weekend and it would cost a small fortune as well. This isn't a knock on Wrigley but more a result of Chicago simply being more of a Cubs town than a Sox town. Nevertheless, let us not forget Rate Field for having a nice Chicago baseball outing and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was also heartening that Rate Field offers a complimentary First White Sox Game souvenir certificate and booklet package for kiddos like ours making their first game here. It certainly helps that the Sox are winning these days, and this year they have 3 players making the 2026 AL All-Star team, namely 1B Munetaka Murakami, 3B Miguel Vargas, and CF Tristan Peters. They're the big surprise team in the Majors this year, and I really don't know how they did it after losing a record breaking 121 games in 2024 and 102 games in 2025. On this Sunday they handily beat the Oakland A's 9-1 and completed a 3 game sweep. Go Sox, and best of luck for the rest of the season!

Visiting Rate Field for a Sox game is the perfect outing for friends and families. When we arrived, we received free Sox vests upon entry. Our seats were an amazing view of first base and there were a variety of crowd engagement activities. Some of the best stadium food can be found there too. Usually I get nachos, but I switched it up this time by going to Lucky's for the Gochujang Bubble Waffle. It was the perfect balance of spicy and sweet and well worth the price. Later on I grabbed a margarita that came in a cute souvenir cup. It was fun to drink and helped keep me cool. I look forward to attending more Sox games in the future! read more
As many times that I've been to Atlanta, never been to a Braves game. As close as I am to Cincinnati, never been to a Reds game. As many of the other random cities I've been to, never been to a Pirates, Phillies, Mets, Yankees, Red Sox, Tigers, Cubs, Sox, Rockies, and many others game. Before this trip to Chicago, I decided to check if the Sox had a game while we were there. As it turns out, they did. It was either vs the division rival(Twins) or the Pirates. Since the Twins are rivals and the game was game 3 of a series, I assumed it had potential to be more exciting! So that's what we went with. What a packed field! There were 32k Sox fans there that night. It started out rough but the south side Chicago crowd kept it engaging. We had seats right behind the home team dugout near third base. Definitely in the action. So enter first MLB game: I started with tradition: A polish sausage(onions and mustard), bag of plain Lays, and a Coke. The field has plenty of food to choose from... I wanted so many things. It was so much fun! I can't believe the game ended with a score of Sox 10 and Twins 1. The crowd was hyped up for most of the game! I guess now I'll have to go watch another team to compare. With that White Sox crowd and energy, the bar has been set high! read more

Rate Field is located on the South Side of Chicago. The nearest subway line is the red line. It's pretty accessible to get the line from there but they also have ride share options and parking available too. The stadium isn't as iconic as Wrigley but still a beautiful stadium. One thing that stood out was all the different food options. Many different local Chicago food vendors. Many different type of cuisines offered. You can't go wrong where you sit on the stadium. You will be get a great seat no matter where you stay at. read more
Came to a game with the family, 9 of us. There was a big line just to get into the game. Ridiculous!! Then at the game every line was to get any kind of food was 50 people long maybe more (almost hour wait) just to get hot dog, beer? Forget about it! Better off leaving stadium going down the street to get food and drink then return to watch. I am never coming back here. You spend most of your time just getting a hot dog. read more
This past Friday, I went to the White Sox game to enjoy some baseball. I got the outfield tickets, which give you a great view of the whole stadium. Instead of normal seats, the outfield has bleacher seats, so be aware of that before buying tickets. I bought the Cuban sandwiches and I must say they were amazing, I would highly recommend if you are going to a game. Every Friday during the summer, they do post game fireworks, which was really the cherry on top after the socks had won the game. I would definitely recommend going to a Friday game and getting outfield tickets so that you are close to the fireworks as they go off outside of the stadium. read more

Beautiful ballpark.... STUPID rules!! This is ballpark number 24 for me. 43rd game this year This will be my absolute LAST at Rate! They prevented me from bringing in a cheap grocery bag with 3 waters. NOT the waters, they were fine but the "garbage" bag itself. Then we were in the upper deck (500 section) because the game was a sellout and my wife wanted to eat some specialty food on the 100 ... we were blocked from doing that because we didn't have 100 level tickets! Absolutely ridiculous and bad business. Even huge venues like Dodger Stadium, Yankee Stadium and Citi Field don't do that STUPID SH1T!! She had a $5 hotdog instead and I ate nothing! Good job SUCKS... I mean SOX! read more

Caught the home opener against the Toronto Blue Jays and what a game. The Sox won and a few bombs were hit which got the crowd excited. Tried a hot dog and it was fantastic. Wanted coffee/hot chocolate but they ran out of hot chocolate and ran out of cups to hold the coffee. Overall we had a blast at Rate Field. read more
I really enjoyed my experience! My Detroit Tigers were visiting so I had to come watch. I was overjoyed with how easy it is to get to the stadium on red line. I got off at the 35th-Sox stop and the stadium is right there. I found the stadium to be very well organized. I never had to wait in any lines. I got into the stadium easily and thru security (I brought my clear bag). Plenty of clean restrooms. Really nice variety of food options at the kiosks. Lots of vendors passing through the stands with snacks and drinks too. Every staff member I encountered was very kind and helpful. Really good vibes all around! I loved my seat along the first base line. It was so fun when fireworks went off for home runs. Fun games and things on the jumbo screen in between innings. Affordable ticket prices and lots of fun! I look forward to returning! read more
First time visiting this stadium and I definitely would say I loved it ! Great layout and overall good experience. Would love to visit many other locations and experience the fields In all different states. I think the part that stood out to me is how quick they get things rolling for alcohol, food and desserts. Once you order, it's out within mins or even seconds. Hopefully I can visit the brother stadium Wrigley, next time I'm in town. read more
We were lucky enough to win the ticket lottery to see the Savannah Bananas and what a crazy experience! You enter a ticket lottery and the Bananas advise you if you won. They choose your ticket price which ranges from $40-60.00 with no svc fees. Seats are assigned for you and we were lucky to get seats in the right field bleachers. Since is was a sellout,we prepaid parking for $31.00 in lot C or E. Very convenient thru ParkWiz. Entering the stadium was super easy and Rate Field offers an array of food options . Wide aisles and plenty of bathrooms made it an enjoyable experience. As long as you don't mind the Chicago traffic getting to Rate Field,you will have a good time! read more
Completed all the letter A businesses in the alphabet series I was working on including American Family Field in Milwaukee. See my 5-star review of them from yesterday, October 1. I decided to include Guaranteed Rate Field (now just Rate Field) and Wrigley Field from my Chicago/Wisconsin trip. In September 2021, we saw the White Sox here on Wednesday, 9/1/21, then the Cubs on Thursday, 9/2, & Brewers on Friday, 9/3. We ate on South State Street before boarding a red line train to Guaranteed Rate Field. Trains were crowded with many people getting on & off the train at Sox-35th, and Rate Field is right by the train station, which is convenient. What's not convenient is that the area right around there is simply parking lots and the ballpark. There's no restaurants or bars right by the ballpark, which is unfortunate. But I think planned that way so people have to buy food & drink at the ballpark. The ballpark itself was very nice. I liked seeing Carlos Rodon (one of my pitchers in Fantasy baseball) get the Win with the White Sox winning that game in general. Unfortunately, he's a stinkin' Yankee now. Seating was high up with a good view of the whole stadium. I also liked whenever White Sox got a Run, there were these primary color lights that spin around above the scoreboard. read more
This was my 22nd active MLB stadium. Rate Field definitely has the most consistent best stadium food - there wasn't a bad item we tried and we tried a lot of things. The comiskey dog, polish dog, Italian beef, Cuban, stadium fries, campfire shake, garretts popcorn. Lots of different hidden gems to see at the stadium; the old comiskey home plate, Chicago and southside signs, comiskey shower, statues in outfield, had already put up a Pope artwork. Didn't think much of the Leinenkugel Lodge - lacked any atmosphere and the bartender sprinkled tajin on my modelo. Got stuck using the ramps mostly going up/down between levels, I believe the escalators are only in the centre. Riding the red line in and out was easy, no safety concerns. Get yourself a first time certificate, they are pretty nice and a button. White Sox fans were nice to visiting fans. The firework show on Friday was really good as well, I got to be present for one of Nancy the organist's only 6 appearances this season as well. Weather in late May was chilly in the shade, so bring layers. read more

On our tour of all of the ballparks, we landed at Rate Field on a hot and humid Chicago day. As such, I bought club level tickets for AC access. I'm a weather wimp. We got there early to do a walk outside and check out the cool statues as a nod to former players-shout out to the amazing Frank Thomas! The home run plate and walkway homage to the old Comiskey Park were cool. I enjoyed seeing the past joining with the present. A full walkthrough of the park showed some good food offerings and beverage offerings from all different types of food. I had to grab a Comiskey Dog and it was yummy. I will now be adding celery salt to all my hot dogs! Club Level seats offer a nice air conditioned lounge and only five rows per section, nice and cozy with in-seat wait service which was attentive and fast. I keep thinking about the strawberry cream nachos. They are not to be missed. The best part of the day was our SF Giants winning but getting to see this beat ballpark was also a win. Thanks to all the fans and staff that made us out of towners feel welcome in the ballpark! read more

Get here early at least 90 minutes before the game it's no joke. It's so unorganized of where to park and they do close some small roads. I definitely recommend the CTA train instead of driving. It would've been waaaay easier. Bought tickets for the July 25 Sox vs Cubs which they shockingly won 12-5 woot! Sec 535 Row 14 was perfect and had an overhang for shade in case of rain and sun. The food offerings in section 500 was hot dogs, nachos, and drinks. I recommend to get nachos and add extra cheese with free jalapeños it was sooo good. Go Sox! read more
This was my second visit to Rate Field, first since 2004. I was a White Sox fan as a kid and don't mind the park. Access from downtown is super easy as the park has its own L stop. There isn't a lot around the park. I did get a sandwich about a mile away and did walk there (area didn't look too bad). Workers are extremely friendly. I was here on a Tuesday night which has heavily discounted beer and food options. Even with the discount night there were 11,000 fans present. I was able to walk up and purchase a ticket for $28.00 a few rows off the field (down the 3rd baseline). Seat was positioned awkwardly. If I was in Chicago and the Sox were playing, I would definitely go to a game. It is significantly different than the Wrigley experience but not a bad day at the park. read more

Not a Sox fan, but I'll always show up for the food. Guaranteed Rate Field is in a convenient location, and the staff is consistently welcoming and helpful. While I'm usually rooting for the other side, I can't deny the solid food game here. There's a great variety of options--from classic stadium eats to more creative bites--that cater to just about everyone. Whether you're here for the baseball or just tagging along with friends, the food alone makes it worth the trip. Come for the food... and maybe, just maybe, pray for the win. read more
Stadium 23/30. I was in Chicago to catch a White Sox Game. Took the green line train down here to avoid parking costs. Drops you off about 3 blocks away. I actually really liked the stadium. Some of the reviews I had read, made it sound horrible. It was not! There were good sight lines from pretty much everywhere. Cool statues in the outfield of some White Sox Greats (Fisk, Baines, Thomas etc). Friendly fans and very reasonably priced tickets (White Sox stink, so the cheap tickets are expected lol). The White Sox were celebrating their 125th Year in baseball. It was also Dick Allen 1972 MVP Bobble Head day. Cool souvenir, and they even were passing out the little cigarette for the bobble head at tables around the concourse, all while telling the story about the Sports Illustrated Cover of Dick Allen with the cigarette. Had a great time at the game and will definitely see another one here if/when I go back to Chicago. read more
"It's not as bad as some say" may be faint praise but there are many things to like about Rate Field. Overall though, it lacks character and in our particular experience left us feeling (figuratively and literally) cold. Background Sat in lower deck first-base side for a weeknight mid-May game between the White Sox and Mariners. Weather better suited football, game time temperature was 47° with cloudy skies and gusty winds. Pale Sox lost 5-1. Stadium Let's start with the positives, and there really are several. Transportation to and from the stadium is efficient with easy access to the train, well-organized parking and a dedicated Uber lot. The concourses are very wide which provides for lots of good shopping and concession options. The Team Store is by far the largest I've visited in a park. Plenty of aisles make it easy to access seats. And, there are multiple large scoreboards, including a "spinning light" and firework display in centerfield which goes off when or if a White Sox player hits a home run. But,that outfield view. The worst of any outdoor stadium I've visited. Who ever thought erecting black scaffolding, excuse me, lattice work, across the exterior of the stadium outfield was a good idea? I know, why don't we just cover it up with a bunch of advertising? Seriously, one seemingly easy improvement would be to remove this lattice from a couple sections and provide an open view of the city skyline (albeit a rather distant one from this stadium's locale). There weren't many people at the game. a likely result of both the weather and the team's recent performance, and this significantly detracted from the viewing experience. Stated attendance was 10,380 - BWAHAHA! There were, maybe, half that number in the park. The only section even partially filled was behind first base where a majority of Mariner fans sat. Food A major positive. My hot dog was delicious. And there are numerous unique dining options, from Italian Beef sandwiches (c'mon, you've seen The Bear), to Korean, to Ramen, to street corn. What's Unusual Yes, this was the first of the new baseball stadiums built, opening in 1991 before Camden Yards started the retro park trend, But did you know that the new Comiskey could also have built a retro field? Such a design was offered by a local architect firm but was rejected in favor of a modern look. Baltimore's park opened just a year later and quickly became iconic. Summary Meh. In a comparison against other major league stadiums the positives fail to overcome the overall bland view and feel one gets watching a game here. read more
This was my first time watching a baseball game and while the white Sox didn't win, I still had fun! Tons of vendors from food to drinks to dessert. I definitely enjoyed the sundae in the souvenir cup, so adorable. The only downside after the game was that the elevators get shut down so you have to walk all the way down! read more

We had a great time at the rate field for the Sox vs yankees game! Great seats are easy to get and on the affordable side (thanks to the sox current poor record). The mascot interacted with my cousins kid and an umpire even threw him a ball! Security wasn't overbearing and staff was helpful in finding our section. They have some decent food options in the stadium as well. Really what's to complain about? I'd love to come back soon. read more
