Beginning Line Up for June 6, 2015 match

I recently went to the Chicago Fire vs Orlando City match, which was my first MLS game, and it was a wonderful experience! Well, except for the fact I was this close "-----------------" to being hit in the head with the soccer ball. The stadium is pretty fantastic: it's easy to find, clean, and intimate. I was surprised at how many families were in attendance - it is definitely a family-friendly event, especially with relatively reasonable ticket prices. There were many group tailgating in the parking lot, both families and adults. Many kids were kicking balls around. It was refreshing to see so many people having fun before the game. The hard-core fans over in the "Firehouse" were wildly entertaining. I imagine that is what the majority of the crowd would be like at any European football club match. And I need to mention the variety of great stadium food available, including Chicago deep dish pizza and fully loaded nachos. I've never seen such amazing food served at a stadium concession stand before. With Toyota Park being a 90 minute drive from Milwaukee, I would recommend seeing a Chicago Fire game to anyone interested in seeing processional soccer as well as those needing a fun family adventure. I would definitely return for another match and wish we had a MLS team here in Milwaukee!

I'm going to cross a huge line here and dare to say that I believe Chicago Fire games just might... JUST MIGHT... be more fun than Chicago Cubs games. There, I said it. Let the hate rain. But before I'm bludgeoned by fellow Cubs fans, let me explain my brazen statement. First, Fire fans are insane. Completely insane actually. Not like "Oh dude I just took four shots at the bar before I staggered over here to Wrigley Field and now I'm gonna heckle a little at the visiting team, but not loud enough for anyone to hear me in case they want to kick my ass". I'm talking serious tailgating for hours before the game, fires in the parking lot, screaming at every move the opposing team makes, fighting in the stands-insane. Not to mention the smoke bombs they set off in the "wild section" and waving enough flags to make you think you're at a parade for religious freedom in some faraway land instead of an American soccer game. And did you know they chant CONSTANTLY? Like nonstop, everybody knows the words chanting. Through the entire game. When was the last time Cubs fans were able to pull it together long enough to chant something other than a half-hearted attempt at singing the seventh inning stretch? Which I'm pretty sure half the fans in Wrigley aren't even aware it's being played. I also really enjoyed all the fire works and spouts of fire on the field when the team races in to hear their names called. And how freakin' cute is their mascot, a dalmation dog?? Get it, like fire house dogs? It's ok, I didn't get it at first either. Downside to Fire games- the stadium is in BFE. However the charter buses from Fado with cases of beer on board make the trip a lot more delightful. Food and beer also seemed to be more pricey at Toyota Park than at Wrigley. This is in no way to bash Wrigley or its fans (I'm a Cubs fan, therefore I can poke fun) but I think when the Cubs disappoint me enough by August, I'll probably switch to Fire games.

Not a bad view from anywhere in the stadium!

I'm a complete soccer novice...but my cousins who are big fans let me tag along. This was my first experience at a game. While it was a little breezy in the bleachers we were seated in, we got to walk around and I know what section I would choose next time! (I ended up buying a hat and scarf while trying to warm up!) The parking lot smelled delicious with people fixing food even before the game started! The Section 8 cheering was fun to watch and I'm sure even more fun to be in the middle of... I would definitely come back!!

    Fantastic!

Oh man, oh man, oh man! You haven't lived until you have gone to a Chicago Fire match and sat in with Section 8 in the Firehouse. The bongos, the chanting, the flags, the freaking fan pride! It's intoxicating. Everyone must do it. EVERYONE! But even if you don't sit in the Firehouse, Toyota Park is beautiful, all the seats are great seats really, trust me I've sat all over the map. The team is great. Soccer is amazing, but even if you don't like soccer, everyone enjoys live soccer. Again trust me!! Just go! Go already! get your tickets and get ready for a fast paced game! Entertainment factor: 10/5 - O yes I went there. Stadium: 5/5 - Top notch, my only gripe is that it's out in BFE and I can't just walk out to the stadium for a drink somewhere.

Love the fire!!! I secretly have a man crush on Mapp ;) But seriously with the exception of the last four games *at the time of post* The fire are awesome. Every time we go is better than before, evan at a friendly where the Pol's outnumber you 9 to 1 lol. The supporters section *where i usually sit* is outstanding and usually on point. great displays and great heart!!! If you havent seen a game or have only caught one on tv...make the trip out!!!! you will never be the same Like Elizbeth C. said FIRE TILL I DIE!!!

What is a better way to end the week than a soccer game? Since this was my last night in town, I wanted to catch a soccer game. I saw the Fire play a couple weeks before in Denver and it was definitely night and day from how the team performed since they lost to the Rapids. To my surprise, there were some fans of the San Jose Earthquakes but the cheering sections quickly dispersed any cheering from the opposition. Soccer could be the most underrated sport across all sports. I enjoyed the game and the victory for the Fire. I look forward to coming back when I'm in town again!

I brought my son for a game here. We saw the fire vs. New England revolution. It was such an amazing game. Over all, I loved the small fest out side the stadium where my son loved kicking the ball and we got a bunch of goodies and tastes. The food was not bad in the stadium. Lines moved kind of quick. We had so much fun that I definitely plan to come back again and now I am fan of the Fire.

Thrilling! Great Seats! Party Deck! Clean Bathrooms! Good Game! I've been a big fan of soccer all my life (not to brag, but I WAS the best goalie in my city league growing up) and it was my goal (pun!) to get my good friends to go with me to a Fire game. And success!! We ventured to Toyota Park last weekend as part of a Groupon.com deal that got us tickets to the Miller Lite Party Deck (ages 21+) and it was definitely worth every discounted dollar. Everyone had a good time, even the group members that knew nothing about soccer and its rules/regulations. The players are true professionals and put on a really good show (though they did have me worried when they were down 0-2 to Colorado. Seriously? Colorado?) but came back in thrilling fashion to win 3-2 with mere minutes left in the game. The sales staff was walking around the party deck and were extremely friendly. The raucous section behind the other goal (Section 9?) was very entertaining and the facility is quite impressive. The parking situation could be improved a lot, but I won't hold it against the Fire for that. Cheers! Go Fire!!

I heard about the game from the Yelp summerfest booth. The L.A galaxy were coming to town and I thought seeing David Beckham for my first Chicago fire game would be cool. A couple days before the game I learn that Beckham was suspended for the game due to a penalty in a previous game. This was disappointing but the game go's on. Toyota park has bench style seating similar to a highschool football game. The field seemed smaller than I have seen on TV. The park was really not that nice. The playing surface was raunchy not like the lush greenery you see in Europe. The game was exciting with many failures on the Fire's end. They lost the game handily but did put on a good effort near the end of the game. The soccer crowd was very annoying. Screaming and yelling like beasts. There were two women behind me just screaming GO FIRE. They ordered hot dogs and I thought that would shut them up but no they kept going. Yelling with hot dog chunks spewing out from their mouths. I thought I was at the zoo. The parking situation was a mess. $15 for parking along with a 45 minute wait to get out from the parking lot after the game. We ordered our tickets from goldstar.com for only $15 per ticket. The game was good for a low level standard of soccer.

Welcome to the world of the ECHL where anything is possible. The Sears Centre is home to a new hockey club (Chicago Express) where if you want to hear the slashing sounds on the ice or the roaring whistle of a train as a goal is scored; you are more than welcome. Chicago has been lucky enough to be granted with three levels of professional hockey and this is definitely no exception. An Affiliate of the NHL's Blue Jackets, the Express skate with determination and skill that make it perfect to watch while they are growing as professional players. The venue itself isn't overly large and offers pretty much a decent seat from both sides of the rink. The Sears Centre suits the bill for holding the sounds of the ice and the crowd without making you think there could be a concert the next night. Because the Express club is still so fresh and so clean, seats are readily available for every game. We're talking, if you wanted to be bangin' on the glass come this Saturday (or when the next home game is) you'll probably find out that your luck--is in tact. For this particular outing, I ended up sitting rows behind the benches for which I have to admit...I am skeptical and should have opted for the other side but couldn't for the life of me get the ticket site figured out. Ten rows up from the ice is still a pretty sweet view--even if you're somewhat behind the benches. The crowd has taken the Express to heart already which is very warming, because they are a brand new franchise. Loud cat calls, whistles and screams to skate to the center is something that will be of a common fixture for the night. Tickets are definitely affordable. To sit in the lower 100 level tickets start as low as $17, and sitting behind the glass if that is your fancy is only $25. For anyone in need of getting a hockey fix this is a great option to choose from. Parking itself is standard for the Centre, look to spend about $10 to park easily across the way from the arena entrance.

When it is the Thunderbolts you get reasonably priced hot dogs and beer. You have to pay for parking - but come on, it is only $2.00 per car. Tickets for the games are just $10.00 and you can reserve your seats online. They have some sort of event between each inning - like T-shirt launches and the like. Aside from the new found talent, I have to say that the entertainment factor here was amazing. As in, leaps and bounds better than any other sporting event we go to (and we go see a lot of games in different sports). The pregame intro is classic, the tv and called timeout skits were terrific and hysterical, and the halftime show was a collaboration of gymnasts and performers that put on one hell of a show.
