For starters the menu is not up to date and therefore the items listed were priced incorrectly and sized differently. When I inquired about the difference in the menu and what was offered the cashier was very rude and had to call someone on the phone because there was no manager present. I ordered a steak medium rare and I revived a over cooked overly well done steak. Did not notice the steak was over cooked until I was already home. When I called to make the restaurant aware of the mistake the person on the phone stated that I was "a pain in the neck" and jokingly told the cook "some one is saying their steak was over cooked and not medium rare like the ordered" and both the cook and cashier laughed as if it was some kind of joke. Very disappointed in the service and quality of the food! I was not offered a new steak or any compensation for the terrible food I received. I would not recommend eating at this establishment to anyone!! If your looking for good food and customer service go elsewhere! read more

So I'm in Cinci/Covington for 5 weeks for work. My coworker and I made the 25 min trek for some home cooking. The chicken and mac n cheese were very good. But the star of the show were the greens! So good I ordered a 2nd batch mid meal! Service was great (for those that complain about the wait, good things take time). I will definitely be back before my time in Cinci is done. read more

This is one of those place you leave with left overs. Of all the times I've eaten here the food was delicious and hot! Don't come expecting pork to be on the menu. Only Halal meats here and some surprises on the menu. This is the healthiest it gets for souls food. From the gingerade to the cream of wheat bread! I had the African red snapper with buttered red skinned potatoes and the bread. It was not how I pictured it but it exceeded my expectations! I walked in and was not greeted and sat down trying to figure out who worked here and who didn't. Once I place my order the meal came out in five minutes. I was shocked. I spent $7 for a meal that could have easily cost twice as much. They have a food strategy here because they offer some atypical menu items on different days of the week to keep you coming back. They all sound appetite and I think it's brilliant! The place looks like a typical diner with nothing really special. This used to be a really good restaurant when it was in Evanston and Rasheedah ran things. What happened? I had been looking forward to coming back here for weeks but it was not what I expected. The food was mediocre... the portions were definitely smaller... the dine-in service was ridiculous. The waitress was never accessible. I told her a friend was joining me so I gave my order but asked her to wait to put it in until she arrived. I also ordered a dinner to go. My friend was running late so I tried to find the waitress to ask her to go on and place the order. She was nowhere to be found. 3 minutes later a man came out with a tray asking if it was my order. I said yes (although it wasn't supposed to be cooked yet). He threw the food on a nearby table near the drafty door and walked away. I waited, expecting someone to come back and place the food on my table. No one came, so I got up and served myself to avoid the food getting cold. Too late, it was already cold. A few minutes later, the waitress came and offered to throw the cold food in the microwave. Who wants a bunch of microwaved food when it's supposed to be cooked fresh? No thanks. She disappeared again for a long time. I suppose they decided I had been there long enough because they brought out my to go meal and asked if I was ready for it then (I wasn't) or if they should keep it warm (no thanks). I'm giving it three stars instead of one or two only because it used to be good, and it might be okay if you get the food to go, although the cleanliness of the establishment should be improved as well. I'd definitely never dine in again. I was highly disappointed as someone who used to eat there 1-2 per week when I lived in Ohio. Rasheedah is definitely missed. read more

I went to Rasheedah's and she wasn't there, they only has one serving of greens and if I wanted another serving I would have to wait 45 minutes now this is in the afternoon around 3 o'clock the food was not good at all the mac & cheese looked old like it was leftovers I had the salmon Crokette which was not good at all and if it was cooked to order I wonder where they cooked it; that's because it wasn't cook there and if it was it just wasn't good if I could give lower than one-star I would , I won't be back that was $16 wasted, Thanks a lot Rasheeah read more

I have eaten at Rasheedahs twice in the past couple of months. Although it's been a while since I've eaten there I decided to share my review on my dining experience for those who may care. No doubt about it the food is off the chain. Both times I've eaten there I ordered the curry chicken, cabbage, potatoes and cream of wheat corn bread. My first dining experience service was terrible. The waitress was cute, young but lacked etiquette and seemed to have an unpleasant attitude. We were standing at the counter waiting to be acknowledged and seated. We must've been standing there for about 5 minutes before she looked up at us and mind you she was only 10ft away from us standing behind the counter. She looks up and says "y'all can have a seat wherever". Another five minutes went by she finally came to our table and handed us their menu we ordered, they brought the food out to us we smashed. The second time we went I decided to bring my man there for vittles after all it was his birthday weekend. I ordered the same thing as the above my man ordered 5 hot wings. We were very hungry being that we both had a long day and were saving our appetites for Rasheedahs all day. The same young lady waited on us. When our food arrived it wasn't what my man ordered he ordered 5 hot wings they brought 3 jumbo hot wings to the table and said that they were out of the smaller wings so they gave him 3 jumbo wings. THAT IS NOT WHAT HE ORDERED. My man was very upset to say the least. To make matters worse the waitress said it with a take it or leave it type of demeanor. My food was on point so I swapped meats with man to avoid Rasheedahs staff and their lack of courtesy ruin a great afternoon. There was a gentleman working there behind the counter taking orders and running the vacuum cleaner while folks were eating came over to our table looked at how we've eaten everything off our plates and asked if we wanted anything else. Now take what you want of this I believe by the way he said it was an under cuff sarcastic remark.... and because of his tackiness WE WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN. Rasheedah's Cafe serves the best soul food in Cincinnati. I usually get the veggie plate. The collard greens and string beans are always nicely seasoned. The mac and cheese is consistency PERFECT and the potato salad is the best I've eaten outside of my aunts kitchen. I also like to order the delicious salmon croquettes, grilled veggie burger and fried catfish. Everything is great and the large portioned dinners range from only $6.50 - $10. read more

We went to Rasheedah's today and it was just what we were looking for. The customer service was great! The prices and portions made it a great value. $10 for a dinner with two sides and bread. This was my first time eating soul food at a restaurant versus eating family's cooking, so it's hard to compare the food quality, but I'll try. The food was very good. I LOVED the bread. The fried chicken, macaroni & cheese, and greens were very good. I probably would try something else instead of the candied yams next time. They were good, but not great. My husband got the same items as me except he got the potato salad instead of greens, and that was also very good. It's not in the greatest neighborhood, but other than that, no complaints!
