Smh 2nd experience with this restaurant in years. This is not it food was overly salted, over cooked if this is soul food I truly feel sorry for them souls. If the seasonings are corrected this would be amazing. The rice was not it at all tasteless. The ambiance was great customer service outstanding.

Three dinners and one dessert for $72 and the majority went in the trash . Very disappointing . The fact that you have to pick up your food at a window next to garbage cans is definitely a turnoff

All I can say is: WOW! Walked in and was presented with the menu of the day. Most of the dishes are out in the deli case so you can see them before ordering. I went with the baby back ribs meal and chose the yams for a side. When my order was called I was handed a bag that easily weighed 2 pounds: Smoked ribs, yellow rice, beans, cornbread, and sweet yams. The ribs were heavily smoked with a very savory rub. The smoke and rub flavor penetrated all the way to the bone- much better than some of the other bbq in town. Their sauce is great too- sweet & heat reminds me of Nashville style bbq. Don't sleep on the beans! Those were probably the best side dish I have had in the city (including restaurants that cost twice as much). Perfectly balanced seasonings with smoked pork and a rich base. I couldn't finish my meal as it was so large, so I got to enjoy it again as dinner and attached is a photo. Note: Some of the bad reviews on here are really just people who were screwed over by the food delivery apps. Those apps are shady- they list restaurants without their consent and show menu items that the restaurant doesn't even have that day. They don't have a bathroom and they don't seem to do phone or online orders. If you need those then maybe you should just dine somewhere else.

Food portions were ok, kinda pricy but I'm willing to pay to support black owned businesses. However it to 20-30 to receive our order and had to wait in a line outside of the establishment for the order. It was sunny and hot out. The restaurant is really small and holds only ordering customers, to actually get the order you have to wait outside. Ridiculous. SMDH read more

Wonderful food! We have been working our way through the menu, ordering two meals to take out once a month, and the food portion are so huge that we can split one meal between us with no room for their delicious desert! Highly recommend, the food is delicious and the service is wonderful!!! read more

First time there, love the ambiance, portion size was great. I got the oxtail dinner and I couldn't finish it because it was too salty. I was extremely disappointed . The gravy it was in was too salty and it canceled out the taste of the meat. There are so many other "healthy" seasonings than salt to make the food taste better. read more

All I can say is: WOW! Walked in and was presented with the menu of the day. Most of the dishes are out in the deli case so you can see them before ordering. I went with the baby back ribs meal and chose the yams for a side. When my order was called I was handed a bag that easily weighed 2 pounds: Smoked ribs, yellow rice, beans, cornbread, and sweet yams. The ribs were heavily smoked with a very savory rub. The smoke and rub flavor penetrated all the way to the bone- much better than some of the other bbq in town. Their sauce is great too- sweet & heat reminds me of Nashville style bbq. Don't sleep on the beans! Those were probably the best side dish I have had in the city (including restaurants that cost twice as much). Just cooking bbq, well I wish they was just cooking bbq for me and my family. New menu items daily, very nice customer service. Owner came out from kitchen and greeted and welcomed everyone. Been there once, and my goodness. I'll be back. Portions are generous to say the least. Menu changes daily from what I gather. Food very hard to get though. They don't take phone orders usually. They don't deliver via DoorDash or anyone else. Only chance ya really seem to have to drive there and wait in line and hope you get something. They kinda be like the soup Nazi on Seinfeld. read more

I went to this restaurant for a very long time,the food is great,but I had an encounter with one of the family members that decided what was going to be on my plate after I ordered it,and when I called back she was so unprofessional,, avoid the aunt on the register at all times but everyone is nice,and took forever giving a refund,this has happened to other people,why should I be different,they have such a good business,but she has had alot of problems with people atitude adjustment read more

I'm extremely mad that I didn't know about this place earlier. I'm in cincy for the summer and all I've been able to find is mid-tasting food...BUT DAMN DID THAT CHANGE. The Mac N Cheese was the best damn thing I've ever tasted. It brought me closer to the one and only The cornbread? DE-FUCKIN-LICIOUS. As a Hispanic, I can vouch that the beans were also just as good. I placed a door dash order and received notification my order was ready for pick up only to arrive and not only it order not ready they aren't "taking doordash orders today" I have never had their food and now I never will. Customer service was definitely lacking, and no apologizes were given for time wasted or for misleading information via door dash. If you want to run a business in the 21st century you should learn how to turn off your internet ordering bc my time and now maybe my money is wasted bc it appears my card was charged for a meal that was never prepared. read more

I am so done with Just Cooking. I ordered a dinner which consisted of yams (and they was full of strings) scalloped potatoes and (they were hard, half done) chicken that was supposed to be baked and tasted like it was boiled. Called and gave my complaint and the lady told me thanks for trying them out and that they do not do refunds. Lol. Only us would give that kind of response. My daughter and I buy from them quite often especially on Sundays, but no more for me. I'm done. read more

Just Cookin BBQ Is a family business. We come from a strong background of great cooks. Our roots run deep in the South. Little Rock Arkansas and Troy Alabama. These recipes were handed down from both my grandparents Ossie Stewart and Lula Mae Watson. Whom I honor as culinary geniuses. They were southern women who didn't have much, so they showed there love through loving there family proudly! Hard work and good food is a tradition that JUST COOKIN stands on we take no short cuts. We do it the old fashioned way and that's the only way we know how.

Meet the Business Owner: Monica Williams J.

Food saved my life....! My parents split early on and I can remember a lot of hard days for myself and my siblings. My mom became addicted to substance abuse and that lead to us not really having parents at home. I remember when my mom was in the kitchen the smell of bleach and good food. Seems like I've been chasing that feeling for a long time. When I went in the kitchen as early as 9yrs old I was scared. But once I started getting comfortable that fear was replaced with a sense of comfort. It brought me joy and took away the pain. I spent time bringing to our household what was missing. What my mom was supposed to. Had I not found the kitchen I'm not sure where I would be. Holidays get real rough to a child with no parents. So being able to prepare those traditional meals at such a young age gave me hope. I can remember burning most of my food in the beginning, but as with most things practice makes perfect I never imagined food would take me this far. Wow! Look at GOD...

The sad part is the food was actually pretty good (tasty yams, mac/cheese, fried whiting, and peach cobbler). However, the cabbage was under-seasoned. Take my advice and order your food to go until the training, customer service, and adequate staffing is present. You won't be disappointed if you do that.

The service is really good. Seated promptly, waters come out promptly, minor order modifications handled easily. We have really enjoyed the variety of food. My husband loves the salads and the bowls and pizzas are also good. Probably the favorite entree we have had is the fish and chips. We find the drinks particularly reasonably priced and the cocktails are good. We really like the blueberry one. The space is sunny and open. We have been with our kids and see lots of friendly groups dining there. Free parking in the garage is another plus.

It didn't help that one serving of dumplings came out much later. We tried our best to identify which ones were what ended up being the missing dumplings. It would have gone a long way to have someone taken a minute to help us understand what was what. All that said, the food was outstanding. The Pork Wontons in Chili Oil were a standout and the Steamed Pork and Shrimp Soup Dumplings were also fantastic. The Triple Delight was just okay, but given how delicious the dumplings were, I couldn't subtract an another star for the mediocre Triple Delight. The restaurant is quite beautiful, which was a huge surprise given the restaurant is in a strip mall. Overall, our dining experience was relaxed and wonderful. If you like dumplings (house made/hand made dumplings) then get to Corner Dumpling House right away!

We ordered the Crostone, an assortment of Italian breads featuring different toppings. One with fresh salmon cream and Asiago cheese, and another with roasted cherry tomatoes and stracchino, along with their Bufalina pizza. For drinks, we tried the Mokaccino Ferrero Rocher and their seasonal Arancia Nutella Latte. Everything was delicious and made for a great lunch. Definitely stop by and check them out for a unique café experience!
