I ordered chicken scratched in my office for the first time with my coworkers and it was delicious. I didn't take pictures of the food because we ordered delivery so it wasn't the prettiest looking when it got there. If you like spicy food, this is the perfect place for you. It was full of flavor and so delicious. They didn't pull any punches when it came to flavor so if you are someone who can't take a lot of seasoning, you may not be able to enjoy your food as much. One improvement that I would love to see from them is putting labels on the boxes so we were able to tell which order was which. Perhaps takeout is not this location's strength because some of the reviews look great, but I ordered via Door Dash and had a terrible experience. From a salad that arrived with no dressing after I paid for extra, to blackened chicken that was so overcooked it could chip a tooth this was not a great meal. I came here several months back and was soooo impressed by the blackened chicken pasta and I wanted to come back again and twice it was closed when I tried. I came back successfully a second time and it didn't hit as much but it was okay. I came today and I am insanely disappointed. The food looks nothing like it used to. There were only 5 pieces of shrimp on the shrimp pasta which is INSANE because it is $18 before tax..... the sauce doesn't taste the same at all and the noodles are even different. I think the disconnect here is that chicken scratch charges the prices and takes the time of a full service restaurant, but the vibes and food quality are not in line with that. I went in at Tuesday at 6:50pm. They were telling everyone 30min for food and thankfully I only had to wait 20min. The staff was great, but there were some sanitary precautions that weren't being met (no hair nets, ventilation seemed off, counters were sticky). The food was good but nothing phenomenal and it was expensive for what it was. I paid $16 for blackened chicken Alfredo but it tasted like one I could have gotten at noodles and company for a cheaper price. I appreciate all the sauce options and rather to have it tossed or drizzled . Who doesn't love options! I ordered online but you can eat in or walk-in. Service was efficient and ready when it said it would be. It was lunchtime and it was ready within 20 min. It's a little pricey for the type of food but it was worth it. They do have a free parking lot and run lunch specials. It's only one way to find out what the restaurant is about, and sometimes you just gotta order the food and taste it. read more

If I could give Chicken Scratch an extra star, I would. There have been few times in my life where food has moved me emotionally the way that the loaded cajun crab fries did. I don't know what I expected, but I certainly didn't expect the magic I experienced. Everything about the dish was perfection. From the fresh cut fries on bottom to the cajun aioili (would buy this by the bottle if I could) drizzled on top. Nothing was mushy and the flavors melded perfectly. The crab was MOUNDED on top and I could not believe the size of the portions for the price. One order of loaded fries could EASILY feed two people. I also tried the salmon sliders and loved them so much. The salmon was cooked perfectly and maintained that fresh fish flavor. I also tried the hot honey chicken loaded mac fries. I loved these as well. They were a smidge hot for my wimpy tastebuds, but the flavor was on point. I feel like the mac & cheese could use a little "more" to it, but since it was mixed in with the fries and sauces, it still worked well. I got a blueberry lemonade to drink and it was super tasty. Everything is made from scratch (including the lemonade!), so you WILL have to wait for your order, but plan ahead, and trust me that it is worth it. The staff are exceptionally nice and were clearly working very hard. Chicken Scratch has only been open a few months, so everyone is definitely still learning. The restaurant has chalk walls you can write on, arcade games, and is decorated in fun colors. There are bathrooms and very easy parking in the lot. 100/10 recommend Chicken Scratch and am planning on an order of cajun crab fries for my birthday. Food was pretty disappointing. I saw Mac and cheese was their best thing and it was completely separated and oily (basically plain noodles in oil). Don't get your hopes up at all. The fries were so soggy but the chicken was decent. Crispy but nothing great. read more

If I could leave zero stars, I would. Let me paint you a picture. My boyfriend found this place on tiktok, food looked amazing. We came from Columbus for a Reds game and stopped by after the game. We ordered our meal at 7:59pm. I ordered a small rootbeer with the loaded garlic buffalo fries & my boyfriend ordered the buffalo chicken mac fries. I got my drink & we sat down. We were sitting for quite awhile but the food is made to order so after 30 minutes of waiting I didnt think anything of it as the group of 4 people that ordered ahead of us were waiting on 75% of their order as well. My boyfriend and I are scrolling social media, talking, etc. They start calling orders 10 numbers past ours, we were 66 & they were calling ALL the 70's. I look at my watch and see that it is 8:54pm, thought to myself "when did we order" so I checked the receipt, which stated we ordered at 7:59pm. Groups of 3+ people who walked in 20 minutes ago are already seated with their order. Meanwhile were waiting almost an entire hour for our order so I stand up to go say something to an extremely bland hates her life worker who was bagging orders. I walked up and she completely ignores me, I said "excuse me", she looks at me & I say "is order 66 coming up? weve been waiting an hour" she looks behind the counter with no one back there, turns around & says "its coming up" so I relay the message back to my boyfriend. He said alright lets wait a few more minutes but if its not the next one then I want a refund, as he should. We wait and hear 77, 75, 78, doordash, etc, no 66. So I walk up to the cashier & tell her the situation, she says okay one moment, she gets the manager on duty, he comes over, doesnt acknowledge or apologize for the service, I had to ask "do you need our card for the refund" he says "yeah probably" then shows us how the system was not allowing for one, offers a cash refund which we agreed upon & he told us to wait a moment as he walked to the back. As were waiting for him to show up, a couple ppl are commenting about how long weve been waiting, ppl walking in started leaving because they heard me say weve waited over an hour. At this point its past 9:00pm. The ppl at the register asked how long the wait was & the cashier said "only 30 mins, shes just" doesnt finish her sentence. shes lucky i did not have the energy to raise hell about her attitude or injustifying the bad service. like "im just what?" its like 9:05, i ordered at 7:59, wheres my food? im just WHAT girlfriend??? i ignore her comment, the manager comes back, hes on the phone with whoever, they help him issue our refund. Got out refund, no apology. Terrible service, the customer service is LACKING. The girl handing out/bagging orders never smiled once or told someone to have a nice evening/enjoy your meal, she nodded at them with the stankiest face. NEVER coming back here. Im glad we drove people away from them, please lose your customers because you dont deserve any. Not a single person working at this location belongs to work in customer service. This puts a bad look on management & ownership of this facility. TERRIBLE. I am absolutely disgusted with the way we were treated. My boyfriend also made a very valid point as we were discussing this disgrace of a restaurant on our way back to Columbus. Everyone who had ordered after us & received their orders before us were individuals of color (which we have zero discrimination towards) however the group of 4 ppl that had ordered right before us there was only 1 of them of color and he received his meal within 20 minutes while the rest of them waited just as long as we did, they got their meal while we were getting our refund, so over an hour wait. Waited over an hour... I get it's made to order but come on nothing should be taking that long

I placed order ID: 103195632-103195632 at 6:47pm. The window for pickup was 7:02-7:12. Showed up at 7:10 and was told the order wasn't even started because they don't make it until you come for pickup. What is the point of the pickup window time then? We didn't walk out of there with food until 7:55pm which is absolutely absurd. Even better, we get home and not ONE sauce. The lemon pepper and parm garlic wings I ordered--dry, no sauce, no seasoning. The honey mustard for the tenders? Non existent. The buffalo sauce for the other entree? Missing. Dry chicken with no sauce. Fries that aren't fresh which is incredible since it took them over an hour to even make it. The steak, insanely overcooked. The staff was very unorganized and unapologetic. Just said "I think it's stupid" that the app gives a pickup window. We spent $70 to waste an hour of our time and not even get what we ordered. I ended up not even eating my meal because the whole ordeal is so frustrating. Tried to call but guess what? The number doesn't even work. Go figure. What a scam. read more
