I've come to Raphael's since moving to the area just over a year ago. All of the barbers employed do a good job, and they do it quickly. Turnover amongst the barbers seems relatively low, though I think Bari and Rommel have moved on. If anyone knows where Rom went, let me know. This place is as good as it gets for a barber shop. The lines move fast, all the barbers are skilled, and reasonably priced. I get a fade from sunny and I'm good for several weeks. For when there's a line, they have a free massage chair and TV with sports playing...doesn't get much better than that! read more

I have to say I was very disappointed by my haircut here. The gentleman who cut my hair did not listen to/cut my hair at all how I asked (buzzed down on the sides and back with a zero blade and just enough up top to part). I ended up needing to go to a different shop elsewhere to get it fixed. While the prices are cheap, you get what you pay for. I did not know about the threading option and I may go back for that. went to get a haircut here today hoping to find a new good place to get a cut since my old barber wasn't that skilled. but I was very pleased with the quality and speediness of my haircut. I was in and out within 20 minutes. Ebrahim cut my hair and he did an awesome job with cutting it exactly how I wanted. I was used to getting cuts from places like Hair Cuttery, which is not a bad place in its own right, but I was truly amazed at how good of a job he did with very little instruction. There was a high degree of attention to detail and it ended up only being $20 for a male cut. The lady that cut my hair was named Tamara and she was quite pleasant and sociable. Luis and Sonny are both great barbers and would recommend going to them. Today I was cut by the older gentleman in the middle and it was a bit of an upsetting experience. As he was attempting to cut my hair, which is thick and curly, he asked me "does anyone like your hair?" This caught me off guard as it's not a question I expect to hear from my barber that I am paying. He then continued to complain that next time I need to condition my hair so he can cut it better. The only issue, as I tried to explain to him, is that when I condition my hair it becomes very curly and makes it a bit difficult to get an even cut, which is why I had picked it out and threw it into a bun. The majority of barbers I go to will spray my hair before they cut it. He had a spray bottle of water on the counter and never touched it until he was finished cutting my hair. He pretty much gave up on cutting my hair and with the attitude he had towards my hair texture I was done as well. He didn't even cut my part like I requested, but I was tired of hearing him sigh and talk mess about my hair that I did not even try to get him to add it. I now have to find another barber to touch up the areas he was unable to do and pay for 2 cuts instead of 1. If I do decide to ever return I will not be allowing him to cut my hair. If you do not have thin straight hair please avoid this barber at all cost! read more

Raphael's is a barbershop, no more, no less. I have been there 6 times and have had 4 different barbers. They are very quick so the waits may look long on the weekends but the line moves. As another mentioned, the quick cuts comes at the expense of a good haircut. All cuts are the same, so yes can be a bit of a chop shop. There really is no attention to personal detail and if that is what you are accustomed to then I suggest looking elsewhere (and let me know where it is). If you want a quick cut at a reasonable price then this place will suffice. read more

This review is based on a shave that I just received. This place advertises hot towel shaves for $20.00. It was a bad experience. The barber first used a dry electric trimmer to "bring down" the beard, although it had been only 24 hours since my last shave. Aside from being totally unnecessary, that left my skin quite irritated. The hot towel was slightly damp, warm and quite rough. It's quality was like the polishing towels you buy in bulk from Home Depot. Unlike higher end shops, the barber didn't use any shaving oil and the only moisture on my face came from the damp towel and the very thin layer of shaving cream he applied. The cream dried about half way through the shave but he didn't go back to get more. A second pass, again with a very small amount of shaving cream, left me nicked in three places (including a 1/4 inch cut on my chin) and with bad razor burn under my nose. Even after all that, he missed spots. Hot towel shaving is truly a lost art, at least at this place. read more

My 12 year old son, got his haircut by Luis. Luis was rude, unprofessional, and took a phone call in the middle of my son's haircut. The only time he spoke to my son, was when he whispered something rude about my son's friend. He was way too rough and did adjustments without asking. I will never go again. read more

I figured maybe it was because I had the wrong barber (or got him on a bad day), so I went back last week and tried another person. He was just as bad. He rushed through the cut without paying much attention to detail. When I looked dissatisfied, he was nice about fixing the cut as best he could. But I won't be going back again. read more
