If you are a cycling nerd, you will love this place. Plain and simple. I am a bike racer, so by default, I like this place a lot. There are very few Rapha clubhouses in the world, so this is sort of a special place for cyclists. They make very upscale cycling clothing and related gear, but it is more than just glitz and glam, Rapha products are very well made and designed to be used while riding a bike, not just posing for photos. They also have shop rides during the week and special events/guest speakers at the shop and do a lot to make the sport more inclusive. They also have a decent coffee shop and cafe on-site as well. Having a pre- or post-ride espresso is of critical importance, so going on a ride, popping into the clubhouse, having an espresso while watching a bike race on their big TV is pretty nice. read more

I was in NYC to visit some old cycling friends as part of an on the fly Hill Cycle reunion. We met up at the Rapha store in the South Village area. As other's have written, it is a beautiful store. There are plenty of seats for cyclists and non cyclists to hang out. There are 3 bathrooms too which is a big plus for an older rider. All the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. There is a nice selection of coffees, drinks and baked goods. There is a lot of wood and natural elements. It is very well designed. Rapha also makes some beautifully designed cycling clothing. Riding and racing for 35 plus years, their old school simplicity certainly appeals to me. The stuff is pricey, and I am sure well made, but it does seem to me as designer cycling chic. I will admit if that is what one is so inclined to purchase, Rahpa is the place. They do the best job I have seen successfully marketing high end cycling gear. read more

I'm writing this review as the employees are having a blast reading other reviews. Guys...the coffee isn't that bad. I'm in town for a week and could not skip out on visiting the clubhouse. Reasons? In chronological order: 1. Make friends jealous 2. Spend rent money 3. Tell employees how awesome Taiwan is and how their next international cycling destination should be Taiwan. 4. Buy exclusive NYC clubhouse merchandise The employee who helped me, Cauldor, was super helpful and knowledgeable. I was on the market for a breathable cap and he knew immediately what I needed and found me the right size. I ended up chatting with him for a good 15 minutes at the register about everything and anything cycling. I really love how cycling can make it seem like I've known him for a long time. It seems like they allow non paying customers to use their restroom. I've been sitting in the cafe for 2 hrs and a lot of people have been walking over to the restroom without buying anything. This is really cool of them since I feel like a lot of places in NY don't allow it! PS Free WiFi and they have outlets under the larger TV for those wanting to do work. read more

I have not participated in any of the clubhouse' group rides but have stopped by numerous times to check out their very stylish and practical cycling apparel and accessories. The store and merchandise are quite nice and I've made several purchases throughout the years and am always satisfied. I would describe the staff as understatedly friendly, if you need something they're available and helpful but if you just wanna browse they leave you alone. Easily one of my favorite cycling shops (and brands) in NYC. I go at least twice a week as part of my little weekend routine. The customer service is great and consistent. No one is pushy. The store is following all COVID procedures to a T. I don't have a membership yet but it seems worth it. I feel like the store sells more than items it sells a culture- which I'm down for. I also love that they have a cafe (just adding to the Rapha culture). The Women's section is tiny but they have some stuff you can look at (a selection of jerseys, not many bibs because they sell out so quickly, socks, etc). I do wish cycling stores everywhere would add a bigger section (and overall more inventory) to cater to their female demographic but I get it's a male dominated sport. Shoutout to Chris! Rapha is the future of retail. Awesome coffee bar in the front which gives you a reason to come again and again and beautiful and stylish clothes for cycling. I've been here a bunch to drink cold brew but fully intend to buy some of their clothes. It's definitely worth a visit for the coffee and treats a alone. Their new location on Prince St is another example of their meticulous attention to detail and their passion for the sports of cycling. The layout of the store is a cafe first, a shop second. You can easily catch a stage of a tour or chat up a fellow cyclist while enjoying a cup of the finest coffee. The line-up of the memorabilia from the two Canyon bikes to cycling-inspired artworks really immerses you in not just Rapha but the sports itself. I can see what the store experience they were going for was, but it only works if you have plenty of proactive store members that are friendly. THe only reason for 3 star instead of 2 is because of 1 member that was friendly and willing to help. The layout is very cramped, so people kept bumping into me, the inventory is all in the back, so you have no choice but to track down employees for sizing, and the staff didn't really seem proactive about helping out customers. I noticed that the free ones just hung out by themselves without trying to make it a good customer experience. Thankfully, I found one that was willing to help and friendly, but I really don't want to come back here unless I absolutely have to. If you are already familiar with the Rapha brand, then this outpost will definitely meet your expectations. Eye-catching merchandising and bikes brought in by locals, and Aesop handsoap and lotion in the WCs. This location, like the others, has a cafe where locals come hang out or cyclists can drink spros before or after rides. This location has a one-up on the ones I've been to in San Francisco and Tokyo because there is outdoor seating in the back. I have been to this particular location twice now and can say that the service I've received surpasses the one in San Francisco by far. The first time, my partner was trying on bibs and was paid attention to by the shop guys. The second time I came in, I was trying on rain jackets and a friendly shop guy came up to me pretty much right away to see if I needed help with sizing. Side note: If you're a petite woman, I guarantee that you will have to ask someone to get an XS or XXS for you from the back. Later on, another shop guy asked if I needed help, so kudos to the guys who work in the retail section of the shop here. Coming here is so much nicer than my SF experience, where I've had to practically jump up and down to get help with sizing and then felt like I was bothering the workers. Miki is that person you see and gotta give him a hug. He films all our races at kissena and is just an all around positive guy. We are luck to have him as well as Rapha. Rapha soho store is neat and comfy. Upon entrance, there is a big open space with a coffee bar at the corner, where cyclists can sit down and enjoy a nice conv while sipping some good coffee. In the back end, there are shelves and shelves of Rapha goodies!!! (some styles even unavailable online!) I'm a rookie to cycling. And, I always thought I had to wear ugly poorly designed clothes until I heard about Rapha! Unlike a regular fashion cloth shop, they don't sell 100x styles of shirts for a single season, but they offer a few lines of high quality, artfully designed jerseys every year. Just wearing them and watching Rapha film channel (https://youtu.be/feiRpSPknQM) make me want to go cycling, and want to become a pro (not just look like one)! Clothes are a bit pricy but according to my pro cycling friends - they last at least a few years and still feel anew (he goes cycling every other day). So without much hesitance, I got my first jersey from Rapha! It feels very smooth, light and tight. If it's you first time with cycling cloth fitting, please try out different sizes in store to make sure you get the best fit. The staffs are super friendly and patient to help me find the best fit. I was totally unaware of the Rapha cycling apparel brand. Passed by this shop/coffee shop and the large screens showing the Belgian spring cycling classics caught my eye. You can bike to the shop, hang your bike (whaat?) have some tea and watch the tour of Flanders among connoisseurs. Very cool, relaxed vibe. Nothing like the beer guzzling pubs in Flanders lol. A lot of talk about bike brands. Don't get that in Flanders either. read more

I live just a block away from the store and the store itself is amazing. Every item is selective and friendly employee create a cool atmosphere. However, If going there for coffee or matcha, I would not recommend this place. Not a great choice as there are better places around. Most of their barista don't know how to make good coffee or matcha. Like today, I went there for a cup to go matcha and I was misheared by a barista. Instead of offering to make another cup, he went arguing with me while other people were waiting on line. Then another barista join him to help to defend him. Obviously he was wrong still he preferred to keep going insisting on his point. I thought it was weird situation, absolutely unnecessary and absurd behavior. read more

Super rude. Havé bought gifts here. Came to grab glasses and Not one but two people were extremely rude. They don't have a single pair of glasses for sale in the shop except ones that you must pay a 200$ membership to purchase. Please note I was the only woman in the shop and they seemed very polite to all the men, maybe they are " members " I don't know but I think if you don't have another pair of bike glasses in your entire shop, you should allow a non member to buy the single pair you do have. And I am actually a real biker. Not one kind word or smile from either of these salespeople the whole interaction. They didn't even invite me to get the membership or explain benefits of it. Nice to check out all the new merchandise and clothes, but even better to see what nice bikes the locals bring in. Great little cafe to stop in while you're out shopping. It's part bicycle shop and part cafe. We ordered a latte, a flat white, and a cheese danish. The coffees were both really good and the danish was tasty. Seating is limited but they do have places inside for you to hang your bike while you shop or eat/drink. read more

This is an upscale shop for Euro style cycling gear. They have good quality product that is often creative in design and priced reasonably. The shop also offers very good espresso, small but quality menu of lite choices and pastry. They also have road rides leaving from shop. A very nice environment which includes some seating and bicycle races on the TVs. I wish they had more product however. A bit skimpy. read more

Wanted to pickup bib shorts and possibly a jersey and new gloves-had to ask for assistance several times as i was being largely ignored for the 20 minutes i was there.
