Legit the best service I have ever received!…read more I will be back. I will tell all my friends on Yelp and otherwise that this is the best Bike shop ever. I recently had a flat on my bike tire. Unable to just pump up and hope for the best, I needed help fast. I actually rolled up to another shop that was open and they told me that couldnt help me. This shop was closed as I rolled up. The owner of the shop saw me roll up with my flat, opened the door an hour early and fixed my tire in about 8 minutes. I was back out on the street fast and back in action fast as can be. I cant gush enough how thankful I am that the owner came out and helped me. I was SOL and standing on the corner trying to figure out what to do next. He came out and asked if he could help. Legit baller! Plan to go back and buy a bike from this guy. Also, will be back for all bike repairs and service. NO question one of the best NYC customer service experiences I have ever had. AMAZING

I nicked my tire heading into Brooklyn and ended up with a pretty quick leak. Thankfully I was…read moreright around the corner from Haven Cycles and got there about 20 minutes before closing. I do want to give a little grace since it was close to closing time, but the experience still left me disappointed. There were a few people inside, including staff, and despite making eye contact while they were laughing and chatting, I had to actually raise my voice to get someone's attention. When I finally did, I was told "pumps by the door," and they went right back to their conversation. It felt more like I was interrupting a group ride than walking into a shop that helps cyclists. To their credit, the pump was enough to get me home. When I brought it back, I was again told to just "leave it by the door," which reinforced the feeling that they wanted as little to do with me as possible and to get me out quickly. But if I come into a bike shop saying I nicked my tire, I'm really hoping for a new tube and a bit of help getting back on the road, not a quick solution that gets me out the door. I've heard from friends that this is supposed to be a go-to shop for cyclists in Brooklyn, which is why this was especially disappointing. Maybe it was just the timing, but the overall vibe came off more disinterested than helpful.

I went to their bike repair workshop at 156 Rivington. It's a real cool place to go if you want…read moresome fixes on your bike. You will learn a lot. When you step into this basement from it's only entrance on the noisy, busy, happening Rivington Street, you will be chilled. Don't expect people there will give you a big hug and warm welcome to the biking family. They probably won't give you any eye contact. They are just busy doing their own things. But don't get frustrated. It's really a cool place to learn tons of biking knowledge and meet some really nice, chill, smart people. You can tell from what kind of music they are playing there! Few tips of how to get yourself into this biking family sooner: 1. Prepare yourself as a bike savvy by learning the biking typology. I mean, knowing where is the wheel or frame & what's a cassette is quite inadequate. You should know what and where the rim tapes are... Google helps! 2. Be familiar with the biking repair tool kit. You can find everything you need to fix a bike for free at this workshop and things are kept in an amazing order. You will enjoy working here only if you know what you need, and how to use it. Don't ask around. People here are busy. If you really have to ask one, go back to Tip #1 before open your mouth. Going to Kmart or bike shops helps! 3. Know what you are doing, be straightforward. Remember, biking is not a recreation, it's a serious lifestyle.
