We've been customers since opening visit a couple times each month for the lowest prices on Fruits and Veggies around town. A super selection of hot food ready to go or eat inside the dining area. Love the Authentic Lebanese food on the cheap, half price any restaurant. Got a favorite Mulukhiya it's Greens with Chicken , I compare to Collard Greens OMG. She had the Kousa Mashi outstanding stuffed Squash Wowed . We shared Deep Fried Kibbie and a Mixed Shawarma sandwich always a winner. Also a order of the Rice with Lamb and Cashews so addictive Yummy . I got some Armenian Sujuk and Toum Garlic Sauce for great prices. Super busy open till close 9-9 everyday, parking lot always filled. 6 cashier's working hard to check customers out. A must visit for super savings especially on Wild Wednesday. My whole total was a measly $11 for a dozen of falafel, a plate of rotten turnips pickles and parsley 2 mini containers of garlic and tahini and 2 huge containers of garlic and tahini that were both sour and old tasting, I kept my mouth shut and didn't call them to complain and figured they lost a long time customer bc why would I even go back when their packaged items are all dusty and expired and flies all over their produce, in the whole produce isle I didn't see one fruit or vegetable that was edible and everyone was trying to buy stuff but they were walking away after trying to pick through. Way better markets in the area. Skip this place if you care about what goes into your body, threw the turnips pickles garlic and tahini straight into the trash upon opening, ate 2 of 12 falafels out of hunger, then threw the rest away bc what would make me think it was ok to eat them after everything else was rotten, pathetic third world vibes in this market, defiantly has gone down hill, hope they shut down and use that big space for an actual edible market

They do provide plastic bags, but if you're picky like me and don't want it to be condensating, bring a cloth or paper bag to maximize the crispy bits. The bread is hand made and so it's thinner in the middle, and thicker on the outside rim. The outside is chewier compared to the crispy-wafer like interior. We also got the shish kabob, the shish tekka beef and shish tekka chicken. We also picked up a grilled fish. The kabob was very tender and juicy, with a charred outside, and the chicken tekka came by a close second as it was so juicy and flavorful. The tekka beef was a little gristly, but still very delicious. As the chef was pulling them off the skewers, he gave the meat a final sprinkle of seasonings. The meat came with two whole grilled tomatoes and three whole grilled small onions. I'm not sure how you're supposed to eat them since the onions still have their skins and roots attatched, while the tomatoes was very, very juicy. The fish was butterflied and grilled with similar spices added. It's still bone in, so nne careful while eating it! It was cooked perfectly.

Al Falah Supermarket is a small Iraqi supermarket and deli. They have a small section of dry goods,…read morebut the real magic is behind the meat counter. There, they have Iraqi style pita bread (aka Arabic bread) freshly baked in tanoor ovens. The only reason we stopped by was because the oven at the restaurant next door was down and they recommended Al Falah to pick up bread. We walked over right after eating lunch and found that there were a number of people in the store and every single person was lined up for bread. Arabic Bread ($0.90) - This is fresh baked, with the baker pumping out pieces every 15 seconds or so. Since this is hand made, there's varying thickness in each bread round, with fantastic crisped sections in the thin areas and a nice chew in the thicker areas. There's a fire charred developed flavor throughout. Large bubbles form on the skin due to the high heat of the tanoor. The fragrance and smell of the bread as it hits the table is mouthwatering. You honestly can't get more fresh and delicious than this. They also offer whole wheat options pre-made and pre-bagged. When we walked in, we were only planning to get two pieces of the fresh bread, but we ended up getting five. We ate almost an entire one on the drive home, even though we were already stuffed from lunch! The only thing they could do to improve things is to offer paper bags instead of plastic. You'll see people here only bagging their bread at the very last second as they walk out of the store because the pita starts immediately steaming inside the bag. Al Falah also has Iraqi style grilled masgouf and various raw skewers, chicken, and kabobs in the meat counter, all of which they will cook for you fresh on the grill or oven. Another patron was asking about hummus, but they were sold out for the day. Unfortunately, we couldn't justify getting anything other than bread on this visit due to how full we were, but next time we visit we will definitely be trying some of the meat. I never would have expected this because the sign outside only said it was a meat market. Now we don't need to travel all the way up to Troy/Sterling Heights or west to Ypsilanti to get fresh Iraqi pita. We will definitely be back for more! Note: Google reports this as Al Falah, but I think the sign says Al Hussein? Not 100% sure of the actual name.

SPecifically, we came here to find asafoetida, and after figuring out that it's not called asafoetida in Arabic, we left happily with not one, but two different configurations of the stanky herb (which made all of the difference in our dinner!). You can find some special, more obscure things, like weird varieties of cocoa powder or coffee, plus honey, and even locally made Yemeni halva/khalta (to the uninitiated, it's sort of a distant cousin of nougat or Turkish delight, but better-- get the harissa one, it's the bomb). The staff are friendly and helpful. They also have a bunch of other random housewares and household items ranging from tea sets to perfumes, including an "inspired by" Baccarat Rouge that smelled actually believable for a tenth of the price of the real deal. Go for it.

Displays were through out the space, but unlike a traditional market that stacks food items on shelves far above the shopper's line of sight. They carry a variety of top-shelf items at great prices. (Check out the pics I've posted.) Their perfumes are high quality oud-types, that for some Americans might be considered too heavy, but are fabulous and long-lasting... mostly selling at $25 at the time of this review. Check out Khanjar perfume for men - the art in the packaging aloneis worth $25 alone! But don't kid yourself, this smells incredible for both males and females, IMO. Their jewelry, mainly silversmithing of rings, is high quality and unique. I found them a bit high in price for the silver content but many held beautiful polished stones (Aqiq, Agate,) of which I have no knowledge of their value. Overall, this smallish market houses a powerful punch of high quality merchandise in comparison to larger markets, and excellent customer service. I'll be back.
