Luckily we got seated after a short 10 minute wait - but I definitely think reservations are recommended for this spot. It got busier the longer we were there, and I didn't see many open tables available. Our server was super friendly and talkative. She gave us some great menu recommendations. We took advantage of their Happy Hour for apps and started with the Hot Chicken & Pickles, and the Truffle Fries. Both are good, however the chicken bites are thighs instead of breast, which isn't usually my fav. For mains, I got the Butternut Squash Ravioli with Prawns. My bf got the Truffle Parmesan Chicken. We both really enjoyed our meals. The raviolis were delicious! My bf normally isn't a fan of chicken breast, but he said this one was great. He also raved about the truffle mushroom cream sauce in the dish. We skipped desserts because we were too full, but there were multiple that I wanted to try - next time! The menu has a lot of different options for different palates and moods. I would definitely eat here again!

We were staying at the Marriott around the corner and the reviews were solid and since both Canada (and Vancouver) and India were once British colonies, we figured Mount Everest Kitchen & Grill had to provide a good representation of Indian fare by proxy, right? And it sure was. All four of us were so happy with everything we ordered. I ordered the set menu with mutton curry, rice, daal, raita and some veggies. I love full-flavored things and I love mutton (older lamb) and you can't find it at most places. This curry was amazing. The wife and Son of Tiki Dave ordered Chicken Tika Masala and Chicken Tandoori. The girl ordered Chicken Teriyaki. WHAT?? But she loved it. Ambience was lovely; service was excellent. We also ordered two orders of Garlic Naan which was probably too much but delicious. We had LOTS of leftovers and dang it, I made certain to finish them off and did on the way to the airport the next day! TIKI DAVE from TIKI DAVE'S TERRIFIC TRIPS highly highly recommends Mount Everest Kitchen & Grill! I will be making a video of our experience that day and will be uploading it here! However it is not focused and instead provides a little bit of the region for everyone (Nepal, China, India, Pakistani influences). Came in for lunch on a weekday. Quickly seated and tended to by the staff. Interior is more of a diner scene than nice cafe. Bathrooms are gender neutral and clean but not nice. Here's my three things: 1) I got a lunch special featuring fish peckora, and tandoor chicken. Good flavor but missed on the real spice flavors. Veg salad was sour and worked with the rest of the plate. 2) These folks can make some NAAN! The Naan stole the show. Sweet, salty and crisp. 3) Price wise you can fill up and have a drink for $25-30CAN.

First off, the shop is super small but I was able to snag a table (there are 3 but it seems most popular for take out). The service was fast and really lovely. And the cost is super affordable for the quantity and quality. I got the FALAFEL MANOUSHEH (FALAFEL MIX, SPREAD AND BAKED ON OUR HOUSE-MADE FLATBREAD. TOPPED WITH TAHINI SAUCE, TOMATOES, PICKLED TURNIP & PARSLEY) and a side of their hummus. The bread is baked freshly and the falafel packs a ton of flavour. The cold tomatoes, turnip, and parsley add a brightness without overpowering the main base. Their hummus was ultra smooth and was so nice to dip dip! This portion was huge and really made the perfect lunch! I dare to say this was one of the best falafels in the city!

A very tiny yet highly acclaimed restaurant in Vancouver near Yaletown-Roundhouse SkyTrain station…read more We stumbled upon this place while walking right at opening, so we got first pick at one of the 3 tables for dine-in. Definitely try to go at opening or when it is not busy, as the dine-in experience is memorable - they place your order in a long wooden board to make it a beautiful spread. We got the Manoush'eh Special which has ground beef, pomegranate, etc and Sham Style which is shaped like a boat. We also tried the yogurt drink which pairs well with the dishes. The only con is that this place does not have free water, but it is no problem to have our own water bottles supplementing the meal. We also got the lentil soup which is pretty good. Definitely sufficient to share one to try, but the Manoush'eh outshines the rest of the items. I loved the quality and texture of the Manoush'eh and just the breads in general. It is a lot of food for 2 people so if you want a snack, you can definitely just share 1. Some people go here for the wraps too. Overall, an affordable restaurant with good food. We got the most expensive items and it was less than 50 CAD all-in, but a lot of the items are around the 10 CAD mark.

First (and only) Yemeni restaurant in town!…read more Came in for brunch for the first time and was immediately drawn in by the waffle photos I ended up ordering the savoury waffle made with potato instead of flour. The texture was great, just a little on the oily side. The charred beef had a nice Chinese wok-style flavour, paired with a giant tandoor bread--really interesting combo! Both hot drinks were solid, but I especially loved the cinnamon latte. It really warmed me up.

The interior of the restaurant was also very nicely decorated. I do think Saba Foods is fancier than other places I've been to while exploring new cuisines and I personally prefer a more casual dining experience. As for the food, the portion sizes were very generous (though I did see other diners ordering individually). I shared the haneeth and saltah with a friend as well as got the kunafa and bint al sahen for dessert. The lamb was very tender and fell off the bone and the saltah came in a bubbling pot. I think the presentation of each dish was beautiful and was representative of its quality. My favourite dish was definitely the haneeth; it had a good combination of meat, rice, and vegetables. My reason for the missing star would be price point (total came around to $55 per person) as well as flavour as I'm used to having very flavorful dishes from other cuisines. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who hasn't tried Yemeni food before though!

No other concern other than the road noise. We were a party of three - 2 adults and one 5-year old toddler. We ordered 4 things - 1. Mantu - very good but expensive for 4 dumplings 2, Chicken Shami Kebab - Comes with super soft buttery naan bread, Melt in the mouth kebabs and possibly the best kebab of my life. My son loved it and primarily ate most of it. 3. Uzbeki Palaw - Very good but the rice to meat ratio could be disappointing. 4. One cocktail and it was very good, very ethnically inspired. Everything was amazing. Portion sizes are small and we finished everything. Our server was so warm and advised visiting during brunch hours the next time to enjoy more kebabs given we likes it the best. Other tips! 1. Service is fairly quick. We were in and out within the hour. 2. There is street parking but finding a spot may still be challenging at any point. There is parking in the building but when we visited, the entrance to it was not working. 3. Reservations are highly recommended for weekends to be seated inside which is very chic and upscale. 4. Menu is pretty kid friendly food and none of the food was remotely spicy.

We were seated immediately, the service was friendly and the wait for our food was not long. It was a very family friendly environment and I even overheard a couple patrons having a friendly conversation with each other. We ordered the pineapple chicken, chicken pieces on the iron skillet and the chicken fried rice. Hands down, the chicken on the iron skillet was our favorite! I would go back just for this. It came out fresh and sizzling in the pan and had a really good flavor. I'm not eating spicy at the moment, and this was not a spicy dish but still had great flavor. It paired really well with the fried rice as well. The fried rice was simple and delicious! The pineapple chicken was sweet and crunchy in the best way.

Heard good things about this place so thought I'd try it. Tried some dishes people mentioned. Hot and sour soup - not standard. No wood ear, bamboo, etc. Taste was ok. Mongolian beef - everybody seems to rave about this but it was nothing special. Quite salty. Bei fung tong chicken wings - presentation is very nice. Lots of fried garlic pieces to take home and mix with rice. Chicken didnt have much seasoning but it was crispy and very juicy. Cumin lamb fried noodles - quite standard. Tasty but can get this dish elsewhere for cheaper. Overall nothing really stood out in terms of taste. We went on Sunday during lunch time and it was just us and another table. I would try other dishes next time.
