Saag paneer, fish curry and vegetable biryani (bottom to top). Naans on each side.

We really enjoyed the authentic food. The fish curry and saag paneer were my favorites. The chicken tikka masala were different than back home, a pleasant surprise while visiting. The spice level was mild for most dishes except the vegetable biryani. That one had a nice kick. We also got naan and garlic naan. Dishes did not come with rice. The mango lassi was a nice complement to the tasty dishes. I would return again!

I was visiting London for the day and decided to stop by here to eat. Absolutely amazing! Ordered the special and corn. Highly recommend the corn it was crispy and savory. Just the right blend of spices I regret not ordering some to take home!!

"So often these days eating Indian food passes for spirituality. I don't meditate, I don't pray, but I eat two samosa's every day." --Dan Bern Rangrez was recommended to us by a co-worker of my hubs who let us know how tasty and delicious their menu is, so we had to give it a try! They do get busy so if you plan to be in the area, it's a good idea to make reservations a few days in advance, especially if you want to visit during prime dinner hours. The menu items we ordered were delicious: Mango Lassi: Not photographed but very creamy and mildly tart. It was very good! Saag Paneer: Very flavorful but a bit too spicy for me. It is good to note that I'm very weak with spicy food. I didn't know I had to request it on the mild side. Salmon Toofani: Very good! Salmon was cooked nicely and was not dry. The base was similar to Saag Paneer, without the cheese. Chicken Tikka: Super yummy! The flavor was wonderful. The sauce was too spicy for me, but my hubby loved it. Chicken Madras: My hubby liked it, but he explained that the flavor of cilantro was too overpowering. It was blended into the sauce. All in all, we enjoyed our experience at Rangrez. It's definitely a solid destination for a delicious meal!

Don't let the empty window deter you from walking in. We have a policy of not eating in an empty restaurant but after walking around and past Rangrez 3x, the restaurant started filling up so we went in after all. It's the best Indian I've had as far as I can remember. And I am from Toronto where we get really really good Indian too.

It was a bit pricey, but the food was all right. The curries in particular were delicious with naan while smelling the right scent.

Review Highlights - Rangrez

My vegetarian friend didn't see vegetable tikka masala on the menu, but they were happy to make it for her and she was blown away as well.

Having already eaten some serious snacks at happy hour, I just needed some good vegetables. There…read morewasn't much open on a Monday night in December in the area, but Sagar looked pretty good. I was seated with my book right behind the counter, almost as if I was hidden away. There was another woman ordering lots of takeaway and some snacks to enjoy while she waited, and a few couples, but the place was quiet. As I looked over the menu, I saw that they also have garlic & onion free options. As I have a colleague who is always looking for such options, and I don't see that much in the states, I wondered if that's something that most places here advertise. I chose the saag paneer with naan and rice pilau. Saag paneer was tasty, a little runnier than I'm accustomed to, but still great flavor, and just what I needed. Rice was unimpressive - I wish I'd just eaten the saag with a spoon. Service was meh - not friendly, but not rude. Didn't really seem interested in serving me - just ticking boxes.

For of you out there non veggie and veggie it doesn't matter this place is a must on any restaurant…read morechecklist. Aurora is right, they are very friendly and helpful, you are treated so nicely, you are even spoiled and then Sagar becomes the measuring stick of other restaurants, in terms of customer service. It mainly specialises in dishes from South India, like the dosa (rice pancakes type), other wonderful things about this place include the lunchtime special which is a real steal, at £4.50 for a big selection of dishes - it includes dosas, poppadoms and desserts! The place itself seems a bit cramped maybe a couple of tables too many, so it can be annoying when children are running around, so I would recommend going on a weekday. And another thing, £3.75 for a takeaway box is stupidly cheap so it must be taken advantage of immediately.
