The restaurant smelled like sweat when I walked in. The place did not feel clean. I found a hair and what looked like nail clippings in my biryani. That ruined the meal right away. The chicken in the biryani was dry and overcooked. It had very little flavor. I could barely finish a few bites. The owner was also rude. He made strange comments about religion that made the table uncomfortable. Poor hygiene. Poor service. Poor food. 0/10. I would not recommend this place if you expect a clean restaurant. read more

We really enjoyed the authentic food. The fish curry and saag paneer were my favorites. The chicken tikka masala were different than back home, a pleasant surprise while visiting. The spice level was mild for most dishes except the vegetable biryani. That one had a nice kick. We also got naan and garlic naan. Dishes did not come with rice. We have eaten here multiple times and it has yet to disappoint. The papadoms were cooked to perfection, the chutneys are perfect for dipping, and the mains all have such a fantastic range of flavors, which keeps bringing us back. When entering, the decor is dark and overburdened with as many pillows as the eye can see, but that is quickly lightened up by the sunny dispositions of the staff. We have always been well waited on, definitely worth a visit! Be warned, if it says "hot", it's hot! read more

They do get busy so if you plan to be in the area, it's a good idea to make reservations a few days in advance, especially if you want to visit during prime dinner hours. The menu items we ordered were delicious: Mango Lassi: Not photographed but very creamy and mildly tart. It was very good! Saag Paneer: Very flavorful but a bit too spicy for me. It is good to note that I'm very weak with spicy food. I didn't know I had to request it on the mild side. Salmon Toofani: Very good! Salmon was cooked nicely and was not dry. The base was similar to Saag Paneer, without the cheese. Chicken Tikka: Super yummy! The flavor was wonderful. The sauce was too spicy for me, but my hubby loved it. Chicken Madras: My hubby liked it, but he explained that the flavor of cilantro was too overpowering. It was blended into the sauce. All in all, we enjoyed our experience at Rangrez. A friendly and relatively authentic Indian dining experience minutes away from Hammersmith subway. Small, but tasty dishes. Good masala chai. Friendly service. Don't be afraid to tell them to turn their large and centrally located air conditioner (rare for England) which can make things chilly. Worth a visit if you are in the area. read more

I've been eating here for over two years and so happy they have continued to deliver every time. Excellent vegetarian dishes like the curry lentils and especially the black daal. My partner loves their smoky, rich aubergine while I am a big fan of the okra stewed in a flavourful sauce. Garlic naan is perfect and the poppadoms are a plenty including two dipping sauces. Chicken tikka masala is a staple or go for the spicy lamb rogan josh. So many great dishes to enjoy, you won't be disappointed! read more

This place is great! I highly recommend it. The best saag I've had in a long time (got the chicken saag). It was simply delicious. I'd give it 9/10 just because one of the pieces of chicken was a bit dry/burnt. That aside this dish was simply perfect. Juicy chicken pieces, spinach spiced to perfection, I just loved it. I should probably tell you about the other fine dishes we tried, but frankly I'm just mesmerized by the saag. Deliciously awesome. The default version wasn't very spicy, but I'm sure you could kick it up a notch if you ask. (I'm guessing they tone down the fire level a bit for the locals. =) The other dishes we ordered were all good, but just make sure you order a saag dish. =) read more

Don't let the empty window deter you from walking in. We have a policy of not eating in an empty restaurant but after walking around and past Rangrez 3x, the restaurant started filling up so we went in after all. It's the best Indian I've had as far as I can remember. And I am from Toronto where we get really really good Indian too. read more

Soooo good! We had the chicken masala with white rice and crispy corn. The crispy corn was downright A-MA-ZING. The masala was incredible too. Being from the states we don't have a ton of Restaurants like this, but it seriously changed our lives. Since we got home we've tried recreating the corn, naan, and masala. Nothing compares to Rangrez though. Definitely going here next time we're in London. Even if it's out of your way, GO HERE. The atmosphere is nice, and the food will blow your mind. read more

Oh my goodness! I've had a lot of Indian food in New York City before and this place ranks up there. Even our timid omnivores found something to like here. I recommend the fish curry, baigan ka bhatya, and saag paneer, though the butter chicken and daal makhani were good too. It took us twice as long to walk back to the hotel! read more

The first day I turned up a bit early (they opened at 5, I believe) and I was lost, and the waitress out front was kind enough to give me directions on her phone to my hotel. The next night I came for dinner and it was FANTASTIC. I had a perfectly spiced Prawn starter, and the butter chicken with garlic naan main entree was the best I've ever had! And I've literally had it all over the world. The service was great- they checked on me often and made sure my water was topped up. Visited this restaurant last week on my visit to London after a friend's recommendation. I absolutely enjoyed the food. I have had Indian food at many restaurants in many different countries and continents but this one was most definitely in the top 5 list. The food was flavorful and not overly heavy and greasy. Chef mentioned that he only uses Olive oil and grape seed oil for cooking. Waiting to go back to London and have another delicious meal at Rangrez. Cheers!! read more

Found this place near our hotel - it's right behind the Eventim Apollo. Would recommend it for a pre-show meal, though the service is a bit slow. The food is *amazing*. I had the "Lamb Do-Pyaza" and it was one of the best Indian dishes I've ever had. My vegetarian friend didn't see vegetable tikka masala on the menu, but they were happy to make it for her and she was blown away as well. The staff were friendly and attentive.
