I love Randy's when I'm in the mood for lunch pizza. They have a lunch special with 2 massive slices with any one topping (the board says pepperoni, but you can ask for any one you like) and a drink for around $5.85 (I think). The bonus is that they don't mind if you share. Two people can get one lunch special and an extra drink and eat for less than $4/person. The pizza is quite good and one slice is a reasonable lunch. The only drawback is that the restaurant is mysteriously cold all the time. It's not a cold that slaps you in the face as you walk in the door, but a cold that creeps up on you and slowly envelops your soul. Yet, despite the cold, I cannot stay away. read more

Made an order at 6:35 this evening. A $35 order including kids size pasta, garlic knots and salad. The person on the phone took my name, phone #, credit card info and told me my order total and that it woul dbe about an hour. We hae some ice on the ground, reminants from a small storm that came through earlier this week, so I made an allowance that they'd probably be busy and that it may be a little time considering street conditions. An hour and a half later I called, wondering where our orders were. The person who answered the phone gave me the usual "the driver is out there, we're busy" which means it'll get there when it gets there. TWO HOURS after I placed my order and still no food. Not only that, but no phone call, no true feedback or empathy from the people I spoke to... no nothing! I spoke to the manager, as I wanted to cancel my order as this was beyond unreasonable. I spoke to the manager, only to find out my order was not found. It didn't exist. he had no ticket for me, no yellow slip or whatever. So, like a moron, I hae been waiting around for 2 hours and ten minutes, told by two different people "it's on the way" only for it to be finally revealed the order did not exist (aka some incompetent boob forgot to place the ticket or whateer, or worse yet, and I will follow-up with my bank tomorrow, someone may have stolen $35 from me this evening). I have tried to give Randy's a chance, but time after time they continually let us know with poor customer service, sub-par food and just overall crappy service. It's been months since last we ordered from Randy's because of horrible food and worse customer service, but thought tonight would be different. Surely something would have changed in a matter of a few months. Nope, it has not. Randy's is a terrible place to eat, to order from, to even acknowledge their existence much less admit you actually ate there. The final straw of this whole crapfest of an experience this evening? The manager of whom I spoke to offered no apologies, no explanation nor any change to redeem this situation to save the loss of a customer. Business must be great for Randy's Pizza for them to be able to afford losing a customer. And believe me, they hae lost me. And anyone who asks me about the place, I will be sure to tell 'em to aoid the place. There are better hole-in-the-wall talian joints better than this place. read more

I've been a loyal Randy's customer for at least ten years, and although I can't say they are my favorite pizza in Durham, they are a consistent go-to for a quick weeknight pizza. We live close to Randy's, and instead of delivery, I like to order ahead and pick up the pizza. There's a huge difference in pizza fresh from the oven vs. pizza which has been in a warmer in the back of delivery driver's cat for 20 minutes. Delivery times from Randy's aren't consistent. Some days they'll tell me 30 minutes, other times it's an hour plus, but they do show up when they tell you they will. It's just that based on how busy they are, it might take longer. Pick up results in a much quicker dinner which tastes better. Also note that a busy signal can be common due to order volume. Just keep calling back. I do think it's funny that they have an old Papa John's # - 286-7272(PAPA). They have good, bit not great, pizza. It's a lot better than the major chains and the local competition which delivers, but if you are expecting the best pizza you've ever had, you are asking for disappointment. The staff are very friendly, and the owner is almost always working. The crust is thin, with a good chew to crisp ratio. Their toppings are good quality, and they don't use canned mushrooms which are a big turn-off for me. I've had mixed results with their salads. Sometimes the iceberg lettuce they use is wilted, and occasionally you get dressing which is 100% oil because they forgot to shake it up before portioning it. We've stopped ordering salads from them as a result. The garlic knots are worth buying, and the calzones and stromboli are excellent and a very good value considering their size. Coupons on their website if you want to always save a buck or two. Give Randy's a try if you haven't yet. Highly recommended if you are someone who frequently gets Pizza Hut, Papa John's and Domino's. read more

I've only had the delivery, which is good and consistent. A little pricier than some chains but a whole lot better. Best delivery pizza, and also will deliver on campus to Duke, although make sure you get your location clear as parking is difficult. FYI I spent $30 for two medium pizzas (cheese and pepperoni) just to give you a price range, but two slices each were enough for the eight people there. read more

After the awesome service and delicious food my roommate and I got from Randy's Pizza last night, we will only have their pizza delivered in the future. After ordering a 14" pizza, jalapeño poppers and garlic knots the person who took our order called us back to let us know they were out of the knots. We had paid with a credit card and they offered something in its place we didn't want. We ask for garlic bread which was a bit more expensive and they said that was ok. A few months back, I had ordered Dominos Pizza and while waiting outside for the delivery, a young man who is a delivery driver for Randy's approached me asking for help. He had just been robbed and had his car stolen delivering pizza about a block away. I called the police and waited with him until they arrived. This delivery driver happened to be the person delivering our order last night. The driver had given us 10% off our order for helping him months ago! Thor, you are awesome and Randy's actually gave us two orders of the garlic bread. I have always ordered pizza in the past from Dominos but not anymore. Awesome job Randy's! Make sure you request Thor to be your delivery guy as well! read more

I would give zero stars if I could. The pizza is great but the service is so bad I will not be back. Ordered through yelp. Came to pick up no one has a clue they internet is down. How do you run a business with the internet being down. Young people have no clue how to handle situation 6 people and no one could say we can make your order now. I'm done. Disappointed read more

So I was craving pizza, and I didn't want to get dominoes or papa johns. So I ordered from here. I got delivery that came at about 40 minutes when he told me it would take 45. To me, that's cutting it pretty close. Anyways, I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza that was new york style. I thought it tasted fine, but it was kinda flimsy. The size of it was great though. Definitely really filling. The mozzarella sticks were alright. Nothing special. Same thing with the garden salad and the garlic rolls. Next time, I would probably just get a huge pizza to share with friends. Grade : B- read more

It's ok. Not awful. Not great. It's pretty ok. In fact, this location isn't even quite as good as other locations (which have rather good specialty pies). The combo specials are pretty excellent deals, though. If you're looking for two pizza slices the size of your head and a fountain drink for $6, this is your place. Also, they do a pretty tasty sleazy cheesesteak. read more

$40 fed 4 adults and 3 kids plenty of pizza and salad. I think that's a deal. The guy making the pizza didn't mind my nosy kids asking him: What are you doing now? What kind of topping is that? Is that our pizza? I finally told them to shut up and let the guy work, so then they just watched him toss pizza dough, which, yeah, is pretty cool. It's an ok pizza. As an adult, I actually got to have TOPPINGS; my sister and I ordered the large veggie! Woohoo! No more plain cheese for me! Anyway, I like sprinkling on the parmesan, garlic, oregano, and black pepper on those thin slices. It makes me happy. :) Also, the large salad was plenty to share amongst 4 adults, so plan accordingly. My mini-monsters devoured a large cheese. Before the kids dug in, my sister said, "Oh, they'll have plenty left over." I was like, yeah, no, it'll be gone. Sister: "No way." Me: "Way!" I was totally right. We all left happy. read more

Solid thin crust pizza (I wouldn't compare it to NYC, but I don't think I've ever encountered places outside of NYC who can do New York pizza). There are some non-standard topping choices available, like bacon and green olives, and ordering delivery over the phone is easy (nothing's worse than repeating an order to someone battling with background noise!) For hangry folks: plan ahead. Delivery takes 45 minutes - 1 hour. read more

Hard to rate. When their pizza is hot, fresh & done "right", Randy's is pretty awesome. Don't bother with their delivery though. For some reason we kept trying their delivery and it would take 1.5 +hours, cold pizza etc with numerous calls. I think there was one time we waited 2.5 hours for deliv. Probably won't be trying them out again. read more

So good! Had a sabarro pizza flavor but great pizza! The cannoli had potential to be good but they must be made off site because the crust had gotten soggy but if it was fresh it would have clapped. Will definitely get another pizza from here when I'm in town again. read more

Went with a friend around Thanksgiving weekend and you couldn't beat the price. It was very affordable and very delicious. Would definitely recommend this store to anyone that is looking for a nice, affordable meal... read more

Their pizza is the best that I have had here in the south! It reminds me of NY pizza slices. The delivery time was reasonable for a Saturday evening. The delivery guy was prompt. The pizza was delish!! I also ordered mozzarella sticks and they were ok. I was a little disappointed to see that they only had fried dough with powdered sugar(no cinnamon sugar). read more

It was a very tasty extra large slice of cheese pizza. The crust was thin and that sauce wasn't too sweet. The ratio of sauce to cheese was pretty good. I would definitely recommend Randy's for a good slice of pizza. They have a great combo deal that has 2 huge slices and a soda. read more

Probably my favorite pizza in Durham. I am a little surprised that Randy's isnt rated higher. Though I have not ventured to try other items aside from their pizza, it really is good New York style thin crust. The portions are large so keep that in mind, daily special two slices and a drink for 6 or 7 bucks, that will definitely curve your appetite! read more

This is the worst Pizza place I have been, I waited for 1.5chours for 8 regular wings. Will never go their again!!!

Hands down, the BEST New York Style pizza in NC! As a former NYer, I have to say that my quest for good NY style pizza was always sad and dismal. Then I stumbled upon Randy's! I have been eating here for years and have delighted in turning on friends, coworkers and family. If you really want to blow people's mind, be sure to order their MASSIVE pizza. WARNING: you will need a large vehicle to transport or you will have to strap it to the roof! What you need to know, is that none of the other Randy's use this recipe! read more

I don't know what happened to Randy's over the past year, but for us, it's gone from five stars to one. We've given them many chances to show us they're capable of becoming who they once were, but it's obviously not going to happen. Uncooked pizza delivered (an hour late), 1 tiny piece of chicken on each slice, missing pieces of the order (no cake). And the worst part? When I call to find out what's going on, I get a negative attitude so I asked for the manager and hear, "I AM the manager." It's time a new REAL pizza place come to this area and provide the product, service and "customer first" attitude we deserve. So long, Randy's. read more

Well this really is a New York style pizza!Oh my gosh you know that by the crust and sauce. This is the best pizza I've had since coming to North Carolina. We will be back read more

This place reminds me of home! This is authentic NY style pizza complete with the oil that drips down. The slices are huge so you'll only need one. Randy's is great for catering too, we use them at work often. Hands down the best pizza in Durham. read more

Amazing pizza the way it should be! Thin crust and large slices. Was a surprising find on a trip from Virginia to Charlotte. We just followed the lunch crowd to a super casual little spot in a strip mall. (You can always trust the weekday lunch workers to lead you to a great local spot.) Now we stop every time we are passing through. Which is not nearly enough for our taste buds. read more

I ordered a large cheese pizza. I was walking out the door and tripped and my pizza slid out onto the ground. I went back inside to explain that the box wasn't closed properly, and the pizza slid out and was told by the cashier that it's "not our problem". I am in the customer service industry and regardless of fault, the customer should never be treated so poorly. They made me pay for a new pizza and I had to wait until all the new orders were filled before I got a new pizza rather than expediting my order. While waiting, I also noticed the filthy hood caked in a thick layer of dust. The store is run down with tiles falling off the walls. Do not eat here! read more

Just awesome. Exactly what a pizza should be. Great sauce, not too heavy. Lots of gooey cheese and the crust is thin on the bottom but not soggy. Crispy and chewy. Prices are average for a regular pizza but get substantially higher for "premium pizzas". The staff is a little unwelcoming. Never said hi or can I help you. A little standoffish. read more

Pizza options in NC have come a long way! Randy's is a solid if unexceptional choice. Huge slices and good flavor abound and I like the crispy, chewy crust but the slices are so large that they can't help but be very floppy. I'd give 3.5 stars if Yelp offered that as an option read more

Had Randy's deliver to hotel during stay for Med. appointments. Very good pizza reasonable prices. As with some pizza was even better cold later on. Sure to revisit next time must say the crust was better than Dominos or pizza hut read more

No denying it, Randy's has the best pizza in Durham, hands down. We've now been to the Northgate location twice and loved it each time. We split a pizza so mine has the veggies and my son's has the meat. The toppings are abundant, the cheese is the perfect amount and that sauce is amazing. Their brewed tea it really good, too. This is a typical pizza joint with a dozen tables, TV in the corner and an open view of the pizza master twirling the dough in the air. read more

I thought the New York style pizza here was worth a visit...then I tried the hot wings. WOW!!! Best wings in Durham without a doubt. Love watching the pizza maestros flinging dough up in the air while I totally blow the diet on a massive slice of pepperoni. read more

Food is good! But the black young girl at the front with braces requires some serious customer service training! Her stank attitude was the worst read more

I went here based on a glowing recommendation that all of the Randy's Pizza restaurants in Durham (i.e. MLK, etc.) were outstanding. So I called in my pizza order at this location. I picked up the pizza just a short time after calling in the order while on the way. While the flavor, crust and cheese had a very nice flavor the pizza tasted like it had been sitting for a long time and it had a chewy texture and taste for us. read more

Not all Randys are the same! Avoid Northgate location will not take coupons. Ordered 3 large 1 toppinng pizza cost was almost $60. Go to the other locations in Durham read more

Randys has the best pizza in the triangle that I have had so far. Being a New Yorker, I consider myself a pizza snob and Randy's was the pizza that came closest to New York style pizza (aka the best pizza on earth!). The pizza is good, as are the meatball and chicken parm subs. read more

Okay I've been here 3 times and two of those times have been flawless. Great service, great food, good prices. Today though I noticed that Tony (owner/manager/?) wasn't there and it was busier than normal for a Sunday night. Having worked at a pizza place for 2 years I definitely sympathize with crazy nights. The service was a little off and the food was cold but overall I still would keep going back, just maybe when Tony is around. read more

Although the pizza was good, We waited an hour and 15 minutes and called the place and finally got our pizza. It was cold. We called back, we were promised another pizza freshly made that would get to our place in 25 minutes, took another hour and again, luke warm. We are so disappointed and will not be ordering again. read more

I've ordered from Randy's several times, and typically had an OK (not great) experience, but this last time was HORRIBLE. I called in my order and was told it would be ready in 25 minutes. I arrived in just 20 minutes and was told my order wasn't ready yet and asked to take a seat. I sat waiting and was never called for my food. After waiting there for 25 minutes I asked at the counter (which I had been sitting directly in front of the whole time) if my food was ready yet. I was asked to repeat what I had ordered, and when I did, the guy rudely said, "Uh, YEAH, it's ready. It's BEEN ready for, like, 20 minutes." I said, "Well, I've been sitting right there for 20 minutes because you told me it wasn't ready." As he flung it across the counter at me, he repeated, with a huff, "Well, it's been here..." To make matters worse, during my 25 minute wait there, I noticed that the floor of the restaurant was littered with about half a dozen cigarette butts! EWWWW!!!! I will never return, Randy's. read more

Went there this afternoon ordered single slice of pizza which was 3.09 plus tax; cashier asked if I wanted drink and I said water; rang up bill and it was 3.92; I asked why it was so high and young woman cashier said I was being charged for water because people get glasses for water and then get soft drinks; I said "so you think I'm a thief?"; she said no but that they just charge everybody for water. Randy's Pizza is the thief because they charge you for water without telling you what they're doing hoping the customer doesn't notice the add on to the bill. I noticed because based on a 3.09 plus tax bill I was being charged roughly the equivalent of 30% tax, which exceeds Durham County tax by over. 20%. I've never been charged for water in any restaurant ANYWHERE much less have it done in such a deceptive way. Plus the plain cheese pizza slice I bought had the consistency of day old pizza. I'll never go back to Randy's Pizza!!! read more

Very good and big slices. Don't order a whole pie unless you are ready to eat. Also had a calzone which was huge.

This could be good, I think the quality got lost along the way. Bland sauce a little too doughy, the cheese was acceptable There is better in the area, load this one up with toppings if you need a fix. read more

If you love NY style pizza, this place is for you!!! So glad we discovered Randy's!!

So far it's the best NY style pizza I've found in the area. Their salads are really big too. I haven't had anything else from there yet.
