These donuts are showstoppers and good for special occasions. They are larger than donuts from other stores and are very dense. I think they taste oily though, and I definitely get an aftertaste. I totally blame Youtube algorithm for making me crave donuts! I'm a huge donut fan and whenever I come to LA I demand my donut fix! I saw a video that Primo's had the best donuts in LA so naturally I had to put it to the test. I definitely recommend placing your order online so you can skip the wait. I got a dozen assorted donuts and if I had to choose my favorite it would definitely be their raised donuts. I tried their buttermilk donuts and wasn't really a fan (I couldn't get this taste of coconut spray out of my mouth). BUT their S'mores donut was divine. It's ultra decadent but the fluffiness of the donut and gooeyness of the marshmallows was just out of this world. Definitely recommend their fancy raised donuts! Awesome customer service as well! After I went to pick up my order I realized that I was missing a donut by the time I got to the parking lot. I went back and told them and they quickly fulfilled the missing order without any questions or even asking to look at the order receipt. Really good donuts! Unfortunately, wasn't able to go sooner to get the fresh donuts but even at 8pm the donuts were still really good! There was also a pretty decent selection even though they were closing soon. Their texas glaze donut caught my eye, but I didn't get one this time around. I tried the chocolate crondy, strawberry filled, and the bear claw. My personal favorite was the bear claw because it was loaded with apple chunks and it was HUGE! The chocolate crondy had a really nice flavor but my only complaint was it wasn't crispy like your typical cronut. Maybe thats how others prefer their cronuts, but I usually like a little crunch. The flavor was still really good though, their glaze and chocolate is delicious. The strawberry filled donut did not have an artificial jelly taste and was very tasty. The donuts were really fluffy, Im sure they would be even better fresh! Service was also really good and they were very patient while I decided which donuts to get. It sounded like another customer. They were frustrated with this person and kept saying how upset they were / why they would no longer give this person free donuts. I understand that when you're at work it's easy to fall into conversations about life; however, it was so uncomfortable for me to hear all of this. I am so happy that Randy's donuts is finally nearby this side of town. Their donuts are HUGE! (Well for the size compared to other donut shops out there.) My MOST fave is the BUTTER CRUMB RAISED DONUT. I had to put that in caps because if you love the crumb donuts in the little plastic wraps as a kid, you'll enjoy this donut! Actually, now that I think about I love all their donuts. From the long johns to their condy. Omg their crondy is actually a cronut and just sooooo good! I really don't go for the premium donuts, just cause they're too heavy in flavor for me, but you may enjoy it if you like M&Ms on your donuts. I will continue to order from them through their website because it's just faster that way. I've ordered from their site 3 times just in the 2 months lolll. Even though I grew up in Southern California, I have never been to the original Randy's Donuts with the huge donut on top of the building in Inglewood. We were in Pasadena last month and, much to our surprise, there was a Randy's right across the street from where we were eating dinner so that was my chance to try the goods. Due to social distancing protocols, we lined up outside the shop because only 4 customers could be inside the store at a time. I believe we waited about 20 minutes before it was our turn, so it wasn't horribly long. While we waited, we were able to peruse the menu board outside so we would have some idea of what we wanted. There are four categories of donuts: classic, deluxe, fancy, and premium, with prices that increase as you move up the donut levels. I chose a classic crumb cake since that's my favorite kind of donut and a fancy Fruity Pebbles raised donut. My husband chose the fancy blueberry cake donut, a deluxe maple cruller, and we also tried a glazed Crondy, which is basically Randy's version of a cronut (croissant and donut combo), but square in shape. Once we paid for our pastries, we were able to sit outside of the shop at one of the tables out front and proceeded to do our donut tasting. I was disappointed in the Fruity Pebbles donut and admonished myself for not sticking with the classics; it was a bit dry for my taste. I really enjoyed both the crumb cake donut and the Crondy and wish I had ordered one more of each. The other donuts were just okay. Service was excellent, though, and I now know what I'll get the next time we go to a Randy's. By the way, I learned that there are currently 6 locations in Southern California with more on the way and one in South Korea! read more

I came to Yelp to expand my horizons on local donut eateries bc my favorite mom and pop shop was starting to annoy me by being sold out of classic donuts hourssss before closing multiple times in a row. I do not need zany donuts. Gimme a quality classic glazed maybe a chocolate glazed and I'm loyal to you for life. Was shocked to learn Randy's opened in the area last fall. Randy's donuts are BIG compared to probably any other donut in the area. And their price point is stellar for what you'd get, in fact cheaper than most places when you compare size to cost. My 1st visit was a fluke. I got there 10mins before closing (still waited in line but honestly it moves quickly!) and they still had glazed and a decent selection in general left. Even their closing shift donuts were soft, fluffy and tasted fresh (I cannot say that about most places). This visit I had a few glazed, chocolate cronut and Apple fritter based on employee suggestion bc they were sold out of the butter crumb (an employee fav I've been told to try). I relearned I don't like Apple fritters. There's usually never enough flavor/apple to offset the fried taste. The cronut was decent. There's something there at room temp. Don't warm it otherwise it becomes soggy, greasy and less flavorful. Glazed were phenomenal. However, if you don't like cakey/doughy donuts you may not like these. I tend to lean towards airy (think Krispy Kreme) but these were great. Most recent visit got the butter crumb, choco glazed and 3 regular glazed at 9am (virtually no line), but haven't tried them yet bc ya know if I want to recklessly eat 4 donuts in 1 sitting I at least have to honor my intermittent fasting window. Rule of thumb: these are donuts, not cancer curing circular objects. If you like (I can only speak for the plain ones!) a good 'ol donut these are an amazing price point, impressive in size and taste like quality donuts are supposed to. Doubt I'd ever wait in line more than 10mins for them, but do as countless other ppl have said and order ahead -- I'd just never think to plan ahead for donuts. Wow, they have really good donuts. When you look at them in the case, they look like regular donuts, but when you eat them, you can tell they use really high quality ingredients. I got a chocolate donut with M&Ms and you can tell they used a very good quality dark chocolate. My wife got a cinnamon donut which tasted like a coffee cake and was also excellent. These donuts aren't cheap, so expect to also pay a premium for them, but definitely worth going here if you want a good tasting donut. read more

Easily the best donut shop around! Donuts are my favvorrrite. I live in Burbank so Krispy Kreme in my family was THE standard to judge all donuts. After I tried Randy's I had all my family and friends try it and told them it's better than KK! I brought it to social gatherings just so people could experience it. Every single of one of them were skeptical but after the first bite all were hooked and now it's our go to donut shop! The raised donuts here are unlike any other shop... they have the perfect amount of chewiness and fluff. It's almost like they use Mochi flour but it doesn't have quite the same texture as Mochi donuts either. Regardless they are the best!!! I am a classic glaze kinda girl so I always have to get at least two for myself. I've tried several flavors but the glaze is by far my favorite with the perfect amount of sugar coating. The butter crumb is also very good! I would skip out on the cake donuts here as they are nothing special here. The original Randy's never disappoints, and they kept it simple. Randy's specialized in a "keep it simple" raised or cake donut. Their giant glaze Texas donut was my go-to. I used to eat half in the parking lot and the rest when I made it back home to San Diego. This location threw me off. Since when did Randy's have so many donuts to choose from? When did they start selling breakfast donut sandwiches? Since when did I have a Randy's donut and it was cold? What the heck happened to fresh donuts that Randy's was known for? Glazed Raised all day! Randy's has made it to Pasadena and my waistline couldn't be anymore happier. The lines have definitely died down, well weekday morning/mid afternoons at least. So you can get in/out pretty quickly. Also online ordering is available so makes it thaaat much easier to avoid contact these days. They have a variety (duh what donut place doesn't) of donuts to choose from in 4 tiers. I think as you go up the tier the donuts get packed with a little bit more sugar haha so I stick in my basic zone here. The donuts are light and fluffy with a slight chew to them. Not light as Krispy Kreme but not heavy either. A league of their own (: They also have super fun flavors and designs that are according to the season. Service is super nice and friendly so you'd be sucked to get even more donuts haha! Perfect addition to Pasadena and hopefully when we can all go back to work , I can drop by more to bring a box of happiness to my coworkers. read more

This place is amazing. My husband picked some up on a Monday, and by Friday we were already back for more. So far I've tried both varieties of blueberry. The glazed was a little too sweet for me, but the iced cake blueberry tastes like a blueberry cake and a bagel got together and made this donut as their delicious offspring. I've also tried the chocolate raised (yeast) which was incredible. Their chocolate frosting is perfection! My husband tried the glazed raised (yeast) which he said was very good, and then the butter crumb which I snuck a bite from and it was amazing. The donuts are amazing that goes without saying. The location could really use a walk up window. They have this long hallway where we waited and people were walking by to exit, which made social distancing impossible. There's a front door and a back door all they had to do was designate one door for entry and one for exiting. So I'm subtracting a star. I'm sure they'll figure this out very soon. When I think of donuts, I usually don't think of anything fancy or any marketing gimmicks like gold flakes anything. What I do think of is something that is worth my dollar since I will be running for the next few weeks to work off an impulsive dozen. This donut shop is my standard when it comes to no BS pastries and flavors. With a wide selection at a decent size I really do have a hard time finding a donut that doesn't make me feel like today is my birthday. I recommend the crondy for something to chew on for those weekend movies binges or maybe something plain like a cruller! Perfectly doughy/chewy and a lot of flavors available when I came in on a Saturday afternoon! The ppl working there are so nice too. This place is soooo tiny though and only 2 parties allowed at once. Entrance is in the back and front but the line starts out in front so if you come through the back, be aware the hallways isn't that wide so you have to pass ppl taking their order to go back out thru the front door to wait (if there's 2 parties in there already). I park in the back parking lot bc parking is free (Pro tip: yeah there's a sign saying you need to pay but I've been coming to this plaza for the last 30 years and not once have I ever got a ticket for parking without paying) I bought a bunch of donuts and the leftovers I put it an big airtight Tupperware in room temp and they were still pretty good! The ones w cereal were obviously stale and since it wasn't the coolest weather some of the icing were a little melted but still better than expected for being over a day old! If you wanna do contactless you can and it will be on a rack outside in the shade.... although i feel like it would be melted if it was really hot outside. Overall my fav donut spot on this side of town!! The dough is kinda comparable to donut friend vegan donuts in highland park! So excited to have Randy's down the street! I can't tell you how many times I've driven to LA because I had to have a bacon maple donut! So, I happened to be up - so I got to Randy's at 6:45am. There was already a long line! And it does not move fast! When people were walking out with one, two and even FIVE boxes of donuts I wondered if there would be anything left! (Still wondering where he was going with all those donuts!! (As we're still supposed to be not socializing.) Sure enough, when I finally got inside after the 45 minute wait- the maple bacon were gone! I almost just walked out of the store because it was my only reason for going! This review is based on Randy's Donuts after it had been sold & new owner started opening up in different locations. I tried them @ Century City mall December 2019. I was not impressed, the glaze taste just like a Winchells & it lost that distinct flavor that brought it up a notch from Krispy Kreme. I was disappointed. Fast forward to today @ Pasadena location and I'm sorry I was beyond disgusted, I had to throw mine away & my 7 yo daughter had me buy her the rainbow donut of the month & she said the icing taste like medicine, so that went to the trash as well. I was trying so hard to like it but nope taste failed big time, it taste like burnt grease. I hope the original location in Inglewood hasn't lost the quality & taste that made Randy's famous for its Texas glaze & glaze raised. read more

Long line no matter what time of the day but I was on a mission to get apple fritters for my fiancé's bday. At 3:30 PM, Randy's said that they had them. Stood in line and caught it right...there were only 3 ppl in front of me not counting person inside store. We split the choc crondy. Verdict: He enjoyed the apple fritters and choc crondy.
