Probably one of my favorite donut spots ever. The dough is better for all of their raised donuts and their chocolate is better for all of their chocolate dipped donuts. My favorite is their custard filled long john. I enjoy all of their raised donuts. Their donuts are affordable and quality so you can't go wrong no matter what your preference. The dough was good but saturated with oil that tasted strong. If you have ever had a Beavertail in Canada, this is the same oily flavor. *Beavertails are food truck style, fried dough covered in cinnamon and sugar often sold to locals and tourists in the blisteringly cold winters." Having previously lived in Southern California for 15 years, I remember seeing some of the original Randy's Donuts locations with the huge donut on top of the building. This time we were headed to LAX, and my daughters wanted to stop at the coffee shop in the same center. So, I decided to walk into this modern looking Randy's Donuts and check out their selection. They definitely have a great variety of donuts. The one that caught my eye was the Bacon Maple Long John Donut. We have similar donuts back in Atlanta, but this one looked unique with all of the bacon chopped. So, I ordered the Bacon Maple Long John Donut and it definitely didn't disappoint. The sweet maple icing and salty bacon go together perfectly, and with the bacon being chopped, you get just the right amount of maple and bacon in every single bite. I have to admit that in all my years living in Los Angeles, I had never tried Randy's Donuts. So, when I spotted this newer location in El Segundo (opened September 2018), I stopped by to finally try a bite. This small location in a little food mall on Rosecrans, always had a line out the door. I decided to wait on a day with only 4 people ahead of me. There's no eating inside, so it's a grab & go. The wait in line gives you the time to study the varied donut collection. When it was my turn, I opted for the Coconut Raised (they also have a toasted coconut raised). The donut was delicious. Some of the freshest donuts you'll ever taste. We've been trying to try Randy's Donut but was never in the area. Today, we were on Rosecrans and had to stop by!!! Glad we did. Plenty of parking. The workers are pretty fast to help you get your selection and get your boxed up, pay and out. I recommend taking a look at their menu online first so you have an idea of some of the flavors and varieties they have. The line forms quite quickly after you so don't be that one person who holds up the line :) We got a few to try and was happy for each one of them. Especially the matcha one. Walked in yesterday. 2 girls on their phones not a client in sight. I asked for an order of donuts. I saw that there were 2 cinnamon donuts and asked for them. The girl Helping me said oh there was an order for it. I said but I it's there and I just picked it out. Her response was the order was already paid for again I said but the donut is there, her response It's paid for. I left the donuts. I did not appreciate that the employees are standing around ok their phones and I choose to purchase that is available just so they now decide to fill the order. No thank you that's horrible service. I thought my favorite glazed donut was at a now closed-down location in Austin, TX...I was wrong; it's here at Randy's. The glazed donut here is absolute perfection: substantial yet light, fluffy yet chewy, sweet but not overly. My waistline is so glad I ordered my single glazed to go; otherwise, I could've stayed and eaten a dozen. If you're not a big fan of lines like Randys in Inglewood, head to the Randy's in El Segundo. It's one of my go to use for an amazing doughnut too. When you walk in you are first greeted with the smell of ingredients to make donuts afterwards the crew comes out from the back to take your order. Today I was greeted by Nick and Jacob who had amazing energy and great smiles. There's a cool vibe in the strip mall with other eateries. Right next to Randys, there's a stop to gather with friends and enjoy your coffee. There's a lot with free parking but it gets crowded and the spaces are tight. I stopped in to order "One" donut but end up with two more deliciousness. The donuts are always fresh, and some donuts go faster than others. My favorites are the classic twister, bear claw and red valet donuts. They also offer hot and cold beverages but it look like most people pick up donuts her and coffee next door. If you are looking for a classic donut, Randy's Donuts is the place to go! Since we are in this crazy covid time, Randy's donuts has taken safety measures to enforce social distancing and safety. The line starts outside of the donut shop and the cashier will allow one person in the shop at a time to order donuts. The strict safety measurement is definitely giving me that peace of mind and allow me to come here whenever I am craving sweets. Many donut shops have added new pretty-looking instagrammable donuts but I have to say if you really want a satisfying donut, Randy's Donuts got your sweet fix! I dropped by after lunch nearby yesterday to get a few donuts with my friend. I ordered an apple fritter, a glazed old fashioned, and a chocolate old fashioned. We were the only ones in the store. When I got home, I was very surprised that I received a raised glaze and a raised chocolate donut with the apple fritter. Apparently the person who helped me wasn't listening when I ordered. I went here because 3 dozen donuts were brought into my job and were so delicious it was a must go to place after that experience. Social distancing was in effect there. There was a 9-10 person line when I went in middle of day but the line moved very fast fortunately. The cashier wAs super sweet and very informative of the companies background. As for the donuts! Super yummy! Open during quarantine! If your looking for a place that makes good donuts, this is it! Big, small, classic, and innovative donuts... they have them all! I came to stock up on donuts for the week, don't worry, I didn't eat them all at once lol I got the Apple Bear Claw which was SUPER good! It was really big and had apple chunks on the inside like a donut apple pie. I also got the Maple bacon long-John which was delicious! The bacon is savory and combined with the maple glaze and the dough it is amazing! I also got the mint chocolate chip one, it was really flavorful. The frosting was chocolate and the chips on top were mint. They have a few different coconut flavors, I like the chocolate frosted one with the coconut flakes on top (compared to the all coconut grain one). The facility is very clean and well kept, and the staff are very friendly. There's a nice patio area outside to hang with friends or get work done (after quarantine) and there's a Philz right next door. The wall art makes for a great photo opportunity too!! read more

Service was prompt and attentive. Two gentlemen behind the counter on a Saturday morning were rather busy. Good customer skills. Our only suggestion is stop saying "no problem". We live in a city elsewhere in California that will soon be getting 3 or 4 Randy's. Makes us think maybe the original sold the name or franchised. If you have ever flown into LAX or watched a movie within the last couple decades, you know Randy's. It's a cultural icon that's been franchising in recent years, with multiple shops around SoCal and abroad. Although nothing beats the Inglewood big doughnut drive-in, I much prefer shorter wait times and avoiding the 405 traffic. Leave it to the tourists making their pilgrimage to the original location. The El Segundo store (ironically, technically the second Randy's CA location if you exclude the now-closed Hollywood one) is situated at Apollo Landing, a plaza along Rosecrans filled with many other eateries. Parking is on the easier side, but if it's full there's a structure within walking distance. I wish there was more seating here for longer stays, but the set-up is ideal for grab-and-go visits. There's a large display case with the doughnuts available, and someone will assist you as you make your selections. I couldn't decide on the word to describe how they divide their menu (tiers? classes? levels?) but essentially the basic doughnuts are cheaper, and the price increases as you get more extravagant, which makes sense. "Classic" - Your average raised or cake doughnut with a simple glaze. I usually stick with the classic, chocolate, or maple raised. The dough is very soft and chewy, with the best consistency. "Deluxe" - Crullers, Old-Fashions, Twists, Buttermilks, Long Johns, anything that takes a little more effort into making. I tried the Blueberry Iced Cake once, this one is very good if you're looking for something more dense and not as sweet (relatively). "Fancy" - Jelly/Cream filled, Bear Claws, Fritters, Crondys (croissant/doughnut hybrids), Cinnamon Rolls, and "fancy" toppings. My mom is a big fan of the Butter Crumb Raised, which is a powdery mess but very satisfying. You'll also find a couple cereal doughnuts like Froot Loops Raised or Fruity Pebbles Raised. "Premium" - The super-sized Texas Glazed and other super fancy toppings. Whether the prices are justified or not for some of the menu items, that's debatable. But like the saying goes, eat first and talk later. If you want coffee with your doughnuts, Philz is right next door! read more

I finally made it to Randy's and to hell with gluten free, I'm heeeere!! We immediately began the mission of deciding on flavors because there was a line of donut monsters behind us and holding them up was not an option. The serious work begins. Have you ever made eye contact with a donut and decided that was the exact one you were meant to go home with? I have. "Maple glazed with churro and chocolate drizz, the one on top of that one, yes" .........nabbed her. Next, roasted coconut. My partner in crime got the Oreos raised and chocolate glazed long John with cream. Ok. I estimate about 3 minutes to box them, pay, 1 min to make it to the car and 1/2 an hr to get home (praying there's no traffic but there will be, it's LA) Next thing I remember is plastic knives cutting donuts in the car, napkins flying and the most incredible flavors in my head. Apparently we had moved onto plan B and I wasn't complaining. These creations are some of the best donuts, if not the best I've ever had. Not only are the flavors epic but the donut itself is too. Bouncy, slightly chewy, crisp outside and pillow soft inside, texture perfection. Do yourself a favor and get there as soon as you can. Randy's has been around a long time and hopefully they'll be around for many years to come. The ladies behind the counter all had masks on and were very helpful and patient (with all those flavors they've gotta be!) The place was clean and well organized. Awesome store and amazing Donuts!! It is located right across from the place we were staying and even more important, it was located next to a coffee shop and Gym I'm familiar with. I had ordered only a couple of their donuts but they were pretty good. The Nutella and the Fruity Pebbles were my favorite and the people who worked there were pretty friendly. It only allows only 2-3 customers at a time due to Social distancing, however; it doesn't apply to Door Dash/ Grub hub delivery drivers?! Wait your turn in line like the rest of us, geesh?! We stopped by for about half a dozen in the late afternoon. Perhaps our person at the counter was just tired from a long day. Parking is not easy here as it is shared in a very busy strip with a coffee shop and other eateries. We have had better experiences at the iconic Inglewood location.
