I have eaten here twice. The first time, I had a pulled pork sandwich which was amazing. Tender and flavorful! The second time was a brisket sandwich. I'm not sure if they were having an off day, but the brisket was chewy, not at all tender like good risk it should be. Both times I had sides and the okra was amazing. The tots were also done well. Three friends and I stopped in here and the service was bad. No one greeted us, we were in the order line and workers kept working behind counter and never said anything. Grabbed a chopped bar b que sandwich and small bag of fries yesterday at Randy's Bar B Que. it was delicious! The sandwich was stuffed full of chopped beef and it was tender, and as the ad says it was sooo good!! The fries were fresh cut out of good potatoes, and they just added to the meal. The ice tea was great! It would give Mc Allisters a run for the money!! The staff were friendly and made sure you were taken care of. The sliced BBQ was excellent, had an excellent flavor, good smoke ring, and just needed a touch of salt- didn't need the BBQ sauce because the flavor was so good. We also had the pulled pork, and our expert pulled pork critic stated, "it had an amazing smoked flavor that she usually doesn't get, and they didn't drown it in BBS sauce like most places".BBQ baked beans and fried okra also excellent. The fried okra was crunchy on the outside and tender and moist on the inside. We really enjoyed the sweet BBQ sauce. The mild was good- but the sweet was the winner for us. Will be stopping again. Been on the road since 4:30 this morning and had nothing of substance to eat since 9am. Needed gas and also needed to find a place to eat. Stopped first in Texarkana and was extremely disappointed with the variety and availability of choices . Just 25 minutes west though is New Boston and Randy's is conveniently located just 3/4 mile south of I-30. This was exactly what my wife and I needed. She ordered the turkey plate with okra and cole slaw. I ordered the two meat plate ( burnt ends brisket and pork ribs) with okra and potato salad. The dry rub seasoning made the meat delicious however not salty. The mild and sweet BBQ sauce went well with all three meats, however if I was going to pick one I would go with sweet. Best fried okra I've ever had. My wife said it was the best cole slaw she ever had. The potato salad was like a mashed potato salad and was delicious. We finished our meal with a piece of home made pecan pie and washed it down with a perfect sweet tea. So, if cruising down I-30, and you come upon New Boston, head south and go to Randy's . I was pretty jazz'd when I saw all those stars for this joint. Maybe it was my high expectations that led to a fairly decent meal at Randy's rather than an "Oh WOW!" one. I saw "burnt ends" on the menu and I knew that's what I wanted. I asked the kid behind the counter if they made their own sausage (I'm a big fan of house-made sausage). Honestly, he blinked at least 3 times and paused a good 5 seconds before saying, "ummm....well, we smoke it here." Okay.....curiosity was getting the better part of me and I said, "Go ahead. I'll have sausage, too." I should've picked ribs or pork or anything else. The burnt ends were actually tasty. They were a little dry, but not so much a good dose of their great BBQ sauce didn't fix. I certainly hope THAT's made in house because they should bottle it and sell it! Great sauce. The sausage was pretty blah. It clearly looked and tasted like something mass produced by a big, commercial company. A true shame because I'm sure there's a meat market somewhere close by that could outfit this place with all the GOOD sausage they would need and thrive on. Or, at least, get an order in to V&V for it. Also had the green beans and coleslaw for sides. Saw some unfavorable reviews of the coleslaw, but I thought it was excellent! I almost wish I'd done double that and no other sides. The addition of mustard to the slaw was mellow, flavorful and just plain good! Wish I could find this in other places. The service is friendly and pretty efficient. The dining area was small, but very clean, bright and enjoyable. I wouldn't mind coming back and trying some of the brisket and pork. read more

This place was great. My first Texas barbecue the prices are extremely affordable straight up cheap the food can I say Texas barbecue excellent amazing delicious ridiculous. I could hurt myself eating there. I got the turkey breast, the burnt ends and the ribs out of the three of them, I would say the turkey breast would be the star, the ribs were also aces to poor guns were great the sauce in the red bottle I had red on another review that it was really really hot. Turns out only mediocre really hot but flavor was all there spice level only about a six out of 10 very doable you could smother all of your food with it and still be OK, everyone was extremely friendly and the ambience was like going back home Fenway Park pictures on the wall. Stopped in route to Arkansas..read the reviews & they had 4.5 stars but not sure why?? We ordered chicken sandwich, came with a bun & ONLY a bun. No sauce, no pickle & dry chicken as well. They serve cold bbq Walked in and ordered two chop beef sandwiches and a small order of fried okra to go. Only thing warm was the okra. Meat and bun were cold like they had been in the fridge. This is an easy 5 of 5 on my taste buds. I stumbled across this place while waiting to finish sim business up the road. I figured I'd give it a try after my last encounter with BBQ the previous night in a different town. Let me say that this is how BBQ should be done! I ordered the two meat plate with Beef burnt ends and chopped Pork. My two sides were the slaw and potato salad. In my book this is as traditional of a BBQ plate as you can build and boy did they get it right. First, the meat is tender and juicy. There is good flavor on both the Burnt ends and the Pork. The helping size is perfect for a single person looking for a good meal at lunch. Second, the sides were fresh and obviously made on site. You could taste the potatoes in the potato salad and the cole slaw is just the right amount of sweet to be perfect. Of course I had to have some of the great brewed Sweet Tea to go with the meal. The staff are great, very polite and friendly. Overall this experience had renewed my faith in the local BBQ for the East Texas area! If you find yourself passing by on I30 or in the area soon business, you've got to stop here for a meal, you simply won't regret it! read more
