Call it a bit if all the good stuff from the chef!

What you see here I don't even have a name for it. If you want to order, ask for the : sausage, chicken, beef, shrimp, cactus, roasted jalapeño plate. This was the special but is now on the menu as a regular item. I don't think this pic does it justice. Sheer volume alone requires 2 people to finish it. The flavors are outstanding. I been going to this flavor mecca for 10+ years and it's yet to not satisfy. A wide ranging menu, if you don't see it, ask for it. I recommend...oh they have a fully stocked bar with brews to Margaritas as well. During the pandemic, they not only stayed alive, but built a permanent outdoor eating area that is a nice alternative to a very pleasant indoor atmosphere. Local, family owned, gracious host and the food is impeccable. In a time when sadly we are losing great eateries for a variety of reasons, fortunately, these folks are thriving!

Always good. Always consistent. Always friendly service. Glad to see the staff that has been here for a very long time and also the "new" faces who were friendly and provided good services. I tried the Tortilla Soup (bowl) tonight which I never had before: it was delicious. Lots of shredded chicken, cheese, some avocado chunks and fresh tortilla strips in a beautiful broth. Very good! My husband had the carne Asada, like usual, and he truly enjoyed it. It's too tough of a cut of meat for me though.... Tortilla chips and salsa and bean salsa are provided for free... that is becoming more rare! Good job!! And their home made flour tortillas can't be beat!

Being a California native, I've been on the hunt for authentic Mexican food. Ranchito Grill exceeded my expectations! From the beautiful rock exterior to the warm, colorful interior, it reminded me of old town San Diego. The parking lot was filled with cars which is always a good sign. We were greeted with smiles and only waited about 5-10 min to be seated. I've been here twice in one week and decided it needed to be reviewed. I want to give a big shoutout to Angie our waitress, who surprisingly waited on me both times. She was super sweet and attentive, gave many suggestions and we're glad she did. Everything was amazing!! The chips and salsa with the home made beans were a nice way to start the night. We ordered the blue pineapple margaritas as well as the mango and peach, they were all delicious and pretty big for the price, not to mention the perfect amount of liquor. For dinner I ordered the carne asada and the chicken super burrito. The carne asada was absolutely amazing, cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The rice and beans were very good, but the homemade flour tortillas were incredible. Reminded me of something my grandma would make, you can tell they put lots of love into their meals. We also ordered the chicken enchilada suiza plate and shredded beef sopita with the chicken enchilada plate. Each meal was served on hot plates and not to mention very big portions, I've had to ask for a box each time. This place was very busy but it didn't stop the staff or the manager from walking around checking on each table making sure everyone had what they needed. Everyone was nice and friendly, made you feel like family. I will definitely be making this place my go to spot for authentic Mexican food.

Good place. The homemade tortillas were great and the fajitas, chile verde, and machaca con huevos were excellent.

Ugh. The fajitas weren't well seasoned and rather tasteless. Most of the dish was onion with very little beef.

I hadn't seen my nephews for a very long so we talked for a long period of time as we got over our excitement of seeing each other again. The staff was extremely patient while we sat there for about 20 minutes catching up. We had very attentive and thoughtful service the entire time. My wife wasn't sure what to order but the waitress was helpful in finding a grilled vegetable and chicken dish. My nephews and family were all satisfied with their food. The portions were huge for my nephews' supreme burritos and for my mole burrito dish. My wife's dish was huge and I thought there was no way she'd finish it but she basically did. Service was prompt and warm and the waitresses even took some pictures of our big group. Overally, we had a great experience there. I don't know what the competition is like in terms of Mexican food in Springfield but I would say that this would have to be near or at the top based on our experience.

We went to the little meat market attatched to the restaurant looking to buy some proteins for home…read morecooked tacos. We found some of our favorite snacks at the front and grabbed those on our way to look at the meats. The first red flag, all of the meat was the same dull, brown color. It looked like it had been sitting there for a while and was going bad. The second red flag was that there was no signage for price or what each meat even was. We stood there at the meet counter and noticed some workers talking to each other in the aisle about 10' from us. They said hello and that was all. Didn't ask if we needed help picking or purchasing anything and didn't even seem enthusiastic when saying hello. There was no one else in the store. While they conversed, we started looking at some sauces they had in the aisle behind us. The third red flag, and what ultimately made me put my snacks down and leave was that there was an odd looking jar of Tostino's on the shelf. I was pretty certain of what I was looking at so I urned the jar to check the date, and sure enough, it had expired in January of 2025!! The very front product! Obviously there is no FIFO (first in, first out) in this store. I pointed it out to my partner and we left without purchasing anything. The overall lack of care they had to help customers, as well as gross looking meat and expired product just made me severely unnerved. I recommend going elsewhere for tacos whether you're making them yourself or eating in house.

I came here with a friend last week. This place has been here forever, but it's the kind of place…read morewhere if you blink, you miss it. Parking is on the street only. There is no dedicated lot. I wasn't even sure they were open when we stopped by. It took a few minutes to find an employee. Once we did, he was kind and helpful. I ordered four tacos, and I forget what my friend ordered. But it wasn't an expensive lunch. We waited for what seemed like forever for everything to be ready. Walking around outside, the building looks like a shack. I'm not even sure there is running water inside. It has the same siding as the apartments behind it, so I wonder if it's ran by someone who lives there? Or if they cook in their home and bring it there? I have no idea. This seems very similar to Joey's Pizza in that as long as you close your eyes and don't pay attention to where your food is coming from, it'll be great. Food itself was quite tasty and enjoyable. We took ours to-to and went home. Seating is an outdoor table only. Which seems more appropriate just for waiting to get the food than to actually eat it there. Would I return? If I happen to be driving by and they're open, yes. I can't say I'd go out of my way to eat here though. But it was certainly tasty for a tiny little dive.
