Ranch camp is the best option I've found for family dining with kids. We chose Ranch Camp because there were plenty of options for the vegan contingent of the family, but it also ended up being the best place for my two year old nephew (and his sisters and cousins). The space is really large, there is a nice outside area, and there are bikes to look at! Plus, there are plenty of kid arts supplies at the hostess station and the staff are so kid-friendly! In fact, the service is top notch all around, which is particularly notable because Stowe, like many big tourist areas, seems to have, let's say, an often inattentive service culture. I liked all the options (vegan, gluten free, customizable protein) available on the menu. I had the rock power bowl with chicken, which was filling and nourishing and full of good stuff (greens, brown rice, black beans, avocado, corn). My only suggestion would be to add cheese (for non-vegans). It could haxe used a little salt. The burritos were huge and got thumbs up from around the table. The kids meals were high quality, genuine not boxes mac and cheese. read more

Being vegetarian and gluten-free, I was so excited for their menu. When we got there, I told my husband I'll be back at least once daily during our stay to enjoy all the selection I had available. Unfortunately, we had a poor experience tonight and won't be returning. We ordered burritos - and either they scraped the bottom of the rice or it was sitting out too long because it had dried out to the level of becoming stone-hard. They offered to make us a replacement, which we appreciated, but then took 20 minutes to do so. Understandable if they had to prepare a fresh batch of rice. After that though, we kept waiting for our check for 15 more minutes with no server in sight. We finally got up and checked out at the bar. After paying $54 for a meal we really were disappointed in, we feel we really have no reason to return sadly. The flavors seemed good, if only they could've cared about the execution details and customer service. I wish I could've tried the falafel burger and nachos - both sound good. read more

After hiking at Mount Mansfield, we stopped by Ranch Camp for lunch. Sat outdoors on the terrace, especially as the weather is still nice. Previously had their burritos, but this time wanted to try something different. We shared tortilla chips and guac as a started, but as an entree I chose their Beets by Joe Salad with Pulled Pork. Beyond sliced roasted beets and arugula, it included sliced apples, goat cheese and seed trio along with apple cider vinaigrette. Pretty good, but might have benefitted from a little more vinaigrette. Ranch Camp is a solid place to have lunch in Stowe. read more

Ranch Camp is a cool little restaurant and bicycle repair shop combo -- for real! I just wish the food was as good as the overall vibe and the amazing service we received. Let's start with what we enjoyed during our visit: the drinks were good... the atmosphere was cool (more like a contemporary "cabin" vibe, which was definitely inviting)... and the staff were all stellar!! Where Ranch Camp let us down on this visit was the food. In fact, we desperately wanted to love the experience because everything LOOKED fantastic. However, all the food we ordered was bland. It all started with the pork nachos, which our party of 3 ordered as an appetizer. It was piled high and dripping with ingredients... but the dish completely lacked flavor. The pork was perfectly tender but tasted flavorless (until I added hot sauce and salt). I would also recommend they serve the dish with pico de gallo or salsa to boost the flavor. We had the same feeling with the burrito bowls. Two of us ordered different burritos (opting for bowls instead of tortillas), and we both thought the flavor was just okay. And on top of that, both of our bowls were lukewarm. In fact, the entrées weren't even hot enough to melt the cheese. I wish I would have sent the food back, but we were in a bit of a hurry. Finally, my friend James ordered the Chicken Quesadilla, which he also thought was "just okay." Oh, and we noted that a table near us sent back food... so not sure what was up with that, but we we weren't surprised based on our overall experience. Final Thoughts: Prior to visiting Ranch Camp, I read plenty of reviews praising the restaurant, so I'd like to think that they were just having a bad day. read more

This was a unique dinner experience for sure. It had ample gluten free options which is why we went here. It was pretty slow for a Friday so we were seated almost instantly. The restaurant is inside of a bike shop which is pretty cool in itself. We started off with some nachos and fried chokes. I had artichokes but omg these were so crunchy and delicious. The nachos were stacked and loaded each chip as nachos should be. Although I wish they out the sour cream and guacamole on the side instead of drizzled on top. Their pork belly tacos were delicious just so messy. The corn with each bite literally was all over my lap and the table. Good just not a graceful meal to eat. I ordered their crunch wrap which was good but the portion was huge. Two people could easily split one. We also ordered the adult chicken tenders and fries. Which idk what they do to the fries here but you MUST HAVE THE FRIES! They are super seasoned and crunchy and just mouth watering goodness. The chicken tenders were super crisp and well flavored too. Next time I'm so ordering the chicken tenders and fries. The T-bowl looked great but the guest in our party who ordered it barely ate it for some reason. 10\10 for food. Service is a bit slow here so be patient. The prices are not bad for the food quality either. My only complaint is the parking lot behind the building is a bit tight with a larger vehicle. read more

Split the fries, buffalo cauliflower, tofu crunch wrap and beet salad for two for dinner (plus a beer each) and it was the perfect amount of food for dinner plus leftovers! This spot is great. Many beers on tap, in additional to fun canned drinks like hard kombucha. Many vegan/vegetarian options. Everything was incredibly tasty. Easy parking in the back, which has connections to free bike trails that would be fun to explore in the winter. Perfect dinner spot. Also inside the restaurant is a bike shop! 12/10 read more

Ranch Camp is highly recommended for gluten free, so we stopped in on a Monday morning for lunch. The restaurant is also a bike shop, which gives a fun vibe. We ordered chicken tenders and the crunch wrap and were told about 15-20 minutes. Unfortunately it took about 30. The crunch wrap was absolutely delicious, and I loved being able to have it gluten free. The chicken was cooked well, and the wrap itself didn't fall apart. Unfortunately, the chicken tenders were burnt and overcooked. I'm betting that's where the extra 10 minutes came in, they were just cooking away in the fryer. The fries were over seasoned and pretty greasy. I'd stick to the "Mexican style" food over the fried things for a better meal. Good for some things, not so great for others, but a great gluten free menu and friendly service! read more

We are out-of-towners who were in the area to ride bikes, so finding the local bike shop was priority number one. I love when the local bike shop is *truly* a LOCAL bike shop, and not some generic conglomerate that has hired locals. We got so many excellent recommendations on where to ride, what to look out for, and any setup changes we should make based on our individual setups. For those who didn't bring bikes, renting bikes was quick and painless. They took the time to get us dialed in before we were off to ride. The merch was top-notch. My only (very minor) disappointment was that the green hat that I bought to match the jersey I also bought was a children's hat. I missed that at time of purchase and didn't realize it until we were back at our rental for the night. It's okay, I brought it back the next day and they were cool about it and let me swap my kids hat for a different adult-size hat, even though they didn't have any green adult hats. I wish we had a few extra days in the area, I would have loved to join some of the local group rides that seem to meet here to ride regularly. We did eat lunch here one of the days. It was so nice to eat outside. There was a good flow of people in and out, but it didn't feel overwhelmingly busy. We had a group of 8, and yet everything arrived just as quickly as we ordered it. I had a crunch wrap. It felt like a lot of food, but it hit the spot. If I find myself back in the area, I will definitely visit again. Highly recommend. read more

We had a lovely lunch in Vermont. Server was great, we got a table right away and our server was very attentive. Food took a minute to get there but was worth the wait. Everything was fresh and cooked to order. Kids loved the patio/deck area where they could collect leaves and play for a minute. Everyone left full and happy, thank you! read more

An excellent choice if you seek outdoor summer dining with wholesome recipes and excellent, attentive service! The falafel burger was crisp, tasty, packed with fresh vegetables and had an exceptionally pleasant texture & mouth-feel. The depth of flavor was incredible for such a humble dish, with notes of nuttiness and fresh herbs complimented by the refreshing tzatziki smeared on the bun were delicious. The ambiance was charming with mountain bikers coming & going and a photo-op ski lift feature in the outdoor dining area. read more

GLUTEN FREE FRIED FOOD!!!!!! We got a chicken tenders with fries, Crunchwrap and a kids chicken wrap. Unfortunately, the chicken was over fried, and fries were over seasoned but the fries were yummy!!! The Crunch wrap delicious and had fried cheese blanket around the bottom, and the chicken wasn't over cooked! The Wrap nothing special, woulda been better without overcooked chicken. Def would give it another try and perhaps a one time fluke but not a pleasant experience read more

What I love about Ranch Camp is how vegan friendly it is! It is the perfect fast casual spot for lunch or sharing small plates with veg and non-veg. Right along the rail trail, you will see plenty of folks meet here after a bike ride or hike to enjoy a meal and beer! My absolute favorite is the nachos! This time we went with the Mexican theme also tried the tofu tacos and crunchwrap with tofu. Honestly, they were all super fresh, healthy and delicious, but very much the same. I would recommend diversifying your order and get only of those three (I didn't ask but maybe they can add tofu to the nachos), the Fried Artichokes, and Buffalo Cauliflower. Great local beers on tap! Definitely one of our usual spots to visit in Stowe. If you go when the weather is warm, the outside patio is pup friendly! Updated from previous review on 2024-10-02 Pros: Many options compared to other Stowe restaurants, Dog friendly patio Cons: Ingredients used across dishes, choose wisely read more

Ranch Camp was great! The atmosphere is so laid-back. They have a great beer, wine, and non-alcoholic selection, as well as an extensive menu. The majority of our group had the "crunch wrap", which was fabulous. I also enjoyed the beet salad with the addition of chicken. Everything was fresh, and the portion sizes were very generous. The waitstaff and kitchen are very cautious with allergies, and no one in our group had issues. We can safely say that Ranch Camp is celiac/gluten free friendly! We will absolutely visit again! read more

Buffalo crispy chicken sandwich was KILLER!!!! Came with really well seasoned tortilla chips or you can sub for fries but the chips are amazing! Also tried the Stowe high and dry cider and that was absolutely incredible. Went with my dad who's extremely talkative and animated and our server was just great! Great convos, amazing service, very attentive and just overall super sweet. Definitely stop in and grab a bite to eat or at least check out their bike shop in the front, really neat items! 10/10 :) read more

Great food. Great vibe. We have enjoyed eating here over the past few years. Would drive back to Stowe just for one of their burritos.

This place is solid, service is good, ambiance was nice. Got the percyrrito which was good enough, food had great portions which was a plus. Would recommend if you are just passing by in the area. read more

The food has been and is excellent. I've visited many times and have never had a bad meal. The change from self ordering to table service is ...interesting. Out of ~10 trips with table service, maybe 2 have been positive. More often than not, we're waiting 10+ minutes after finishing our food before the server stops by. Drink refills aren't offered until we're done eating. Most recently, we were one of four tables in the restaurant. The bar was empty, and instead of being checked on, the servers were on their phones at the counter. At least hide in the kitchen if you can't do your job. We'll probably switch to take out, but it is disappointing. read more

Fantastic host! Food was amazing and water was kept full the entire meal. Got the burger and pork burrito. Would come back!

If we lived in the area we'd be regulars at Ranch Camp, I can guarantee it. Such a cute spot, love the patio outside, and the food is so. good. Also some nice gluten free options to choose from! Portions are huge so go with an appetite! I wish I could remember exactly what we got but it's been too long and I'm too old. I do know it's going to be a must-stop on our next trip for sure. read more

We love coming here after skiing. We appreciate that they offer so many GF options. We are not vegan, but they have MANY vegan options too. It's also just good after-skiing food. It's casual, so head over in your skiing (or biking) attire. It's in a bike shop, which is also cool. They also have a variety of local beer on tap, and a rotating GF beer, cider, wine, etc. Service is a combo of help yourself and waiter/bartender. You can help yourself to water and you go to one of two counters to order, but there is a bartender and someone who will bring food to your table. All-in-all, great spot to stop for a yummy meal. read more

A nice surprise. Servers were super friendly, food was fresh, clean and delicious. Will be visiting again on our next trip to Stowe.

The food was good, but super heavy. I think I ate maybe 1/4-1/3 of my burrito. Maybe because we filled up on tortilla chips & Guac first? The chips and Guac were good. Chips were crispy, Guac was fresh (but I felt it needed some salt and hot sauce). Obviously it's a very casual atmosphere - you're in a bike shop. You order at a counter and they bring the food to your table.... If you want a casual atmosphere with good food, check it out. But be prepared for a filling, hearty meal. read more

We stopped here for dinner. We both got the Buffalo chicken sandwich with fries. We also ordered the nachos as an appetizer but it came out with our food. The food was good and tasty. Second time to Ranch Camp and in the immortal words of Randy Jackson: it was just ok for me, dawg. Pros: beautiful outdoor woodsy setting. Indoor and outdoor seating. Good selection of beers and ciders. Extensive menu that's not very expensive. Friendly service. No reservations taken and unless it's peak tourist season you can find a table. Cons: every food item I tried either lacked flavor or what flavor there was didn't do it for me. The corn salsa was bland. The sticky balls Brussels sprouts had too much soy sauce taste. The meat in my vermexico burrito did not taste great and the accompanying salsa didn't add much. read more

Ranch Camp is half bike shop, half restaurant. For those visiting in a car, be careful driving up the hill since it is a one-way road. There is a large circular corner mirror that can help you see if another car is approaching. They are an eco-friendly restaurant as they provide compostable plasticware and paper to-go boxes. Ranch Camp's menu features a hefty amount of vegan food, though you can also find non vegan items if you so choose. The falafel was warm and yummy. It did not taste overly seasoned and was easy to bite into. The Baller on a Budget burrito was superb! Chipotle who?? I could eat this thick chungus of a meal every day!! read more

I don't think it's out of line to say I would be completely content spending an entire weekend trip to Stow wrapped up in a Ranch Camp burrito (specifically the Percyritto: braised pork, black beans, brown rice, apple & avocado guacamole, pico de gallo, local cheddar, maple roja sauce), snacking on mad chunky guac and drinking local beer while eyeballing the horizon on their raised hardwood deck. It takes everything that makes Stowe Stowe without allowing the appeal of tourist dollars sully the totally laid-back vibe at Ranch Camp. Crack a sour, bring three friends and spend an incredibly fast afternoon being slow and purposeful. Your altered state will thank you. read more

The food was disappointing all around. Pork belly tacos: the meat was ok but a bit too much sugar to not the sauce. The rest of the taco was a disaster: it had a ton of corn, uncooked greens, on a wheat tortilla. No other sauce or salsa... overall, not good. I just picked off the meat and ate it. Pork borrito: tasted super bland and was cold. Fried artichoke: meh. Had too many inedible bits you had to spit out. French fries: soggy Mac and cheese: edible read more
