Very casual local spot that offers biking accessories, has a small bar where you can get drinks, and has both indoor and outdoor seating. Parking out back. Went during the lunch hour rush and staff was super friendly. You order at the counter, they give you a number, grab a seat and they will find you and deliver the food when ready. The pork belly tacos were good. A tad sweet for our tastes, but the tables had hot sauces to spruce it up. The falafel was shaped into a patty (unlike traditional meatball shape) and folded into a pity with tomato, pickled radish, and tzatziki. It was a little bland for my taste, but prefer that so I can season to my liking. Next time, will try the burrito. read more

We were looking for a casual spot to eat after a long day of hiking and landed on ranch camp. Although neither of us are mountain bikers we are definitely bikers so loved that it was also a bike store. The vibe was excellent. We loved the tires incorporated in the decor and the bike photo in the ladies bathroom. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside and enjoyed the patio. I loved that the menu had more unique offerings than the standard burrito joint. We both got a burrito and split the two because neither of us could decide on just one. Both were good and filling and there were a variety of drinks to choose from. My friend tried some local beers while I had one of the hard kombuchas. It's almost unfair to compare Ranch Camp to the other restaurants in the area that can maintain their focus on solely on food because Ranch Camp maintains a dual focus of operating a fast casual restaurant offering creative, reasonably priced cuisine in a very laid-back ambiance AND a first-rate mountain biking shop that has everything you need - from mountain bikes to socks - to enjoy the myriad of biking trails surrounding Stowe. As far as the restaurant goes .. Ranch Camp offers diners their version of comfort food -- sandwiches, burritos, salads, and bowls made from healthy and fresh ingredients. This is a very casual environment, primarily catering to mountain bikers heading out for a day on the trails or returning back to town after a punishing day on the trails. Imagine a more "clean eating"-inspired version of Chipotle. Place your order at the counter and one of the servers will bring your meal out to you when it's ready while you wait at one of the outdoor tables overlooking Mountain Road. The menu has plenty of vegan and gluten free options to accommodate dietary restrictions. My dining companion and I aren't bikers, but were attracted to Ranch Camp by the casual ambiance and unique menu. My dining companion and I started with the "Sticky Balls" appetizer ($9), comprised of locally-sourced brussels sprouts broiled and tossed in a maple-forward sauce that were tasty but neither sticky nor exclusively ball-shaped. I opted for the "Power Plant" burrito ($14), comprised of marinated tofu, barley, green lentils, grilled corn salsa, artichokes, broccoli, chickpeas, guacamole, kale, and a maple verde sauce, which was tasty and very filling but could have used some more kick. My dining companion ignored the numerous Yelp reviews critical of the falafel and selected the "Falafel Bowl" ($16), comprised of quinoa, black beans, red onion, roasted garlic tomato, cucumber, kale with a creamy tahini sauce, and was quite disappointed in the flavor and consistency of her meal. We love Ranch Camp! It's a great place to grab a bite. Well located at the heart of bike trails. It's half bike mountain bike shop and half restaurant. First, you'll need to get used to the ordering system with seat yourself: there is a main counter that is for takeout and a 2nd counter near the kitchen that is for sit-down eat in. This counter has the complimentary cold water and large glasses (help yourself). There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. For eat in, you'll get a number on a stand so they know where to bring your food. We've been here a number of times and they always get our order correct :-) The portions are healthy and the food is fresh and tasty. The burritos are a strong choice and the kids chicken fingers never fail. In the past, I've had the falafels and they aren't the best choice. The pearl bowl is tasty but there weren't a lot of scallops; our neighbors had the T-bowl and he likened it to tuna sushi. It's not fancy but you'll feel happy you ate here. I don't think it's out of line to say I would be completely content spending an entire weekend trip to Stow wrapped up in a Ranch Camp burrito (specifically the Percyritto: braised pork, black beans, brown rice, apple & avocado guacamole, pico de gallo, local cheddar, maple roja sauce), snacking on mad chunky guac and drinking local beer while eyeballing the horizon on their raised hardwood deck. It takes everything that makes Stowe Stowe without allowing the appeal of tourist dollars sully the totally laid-back vibe at Ranch Camp. This is one of my favorite restaurants ANYWHERE. Generous portions, reasonable prices, delicious food. I have had multiple dishes and have yet to find something that did not surpass my expectations. The nachos are out of this world. Quite literally the best nachos I've ever had. The cheese to chip ratio is ideal, and there's a scoop of guacamole crowning the tower. After a long day of skiing, stopped by here after a recommendation from a friend who grew up in Stowe. I opted for the veggie focaccia and it was amazing! Also ordered a Stowe Cider and it paired nicely. The fried artichokes were a fantastic starter as well. The servers were so nice and made me feel at home. I would not consider this place to be a place where you can really hang out for a long time. It's truly a convenience dining experience. There's no waiters, you just go up to the register and order your food and get a number. There are very few tables so if you're looking to go for a night out with the fam, you might be better off ordering takeout and picking it up. The food is super creative and casual. The ingredients are clearly very fresh. The burritos are next level. I had the Percy burrito which had a really neat ensemble of things in it, I truly enjoyed it, it was excellent. But I definitely wasn't expecting this place to be so small inside. It's very Stowe. There's a little trail off to the side of the restaurant which we walked on after dinner to walk off the burritos. We have been to Ranchcamp many times but this last time was not as good. The amount of oil used in every dish was over the top. The kale had more oil than the French fries. The Spud and Magic power bowl, although vegan was swimming in oil. It's appeared that the average age of the staff was very young and maybe that had something to do with the quality from the kitchen? We will try again but hope this isn't a trend and hopefully the management can use this review to make some changes. Drowning each vegan dish in oil negates the benefits. The staff were nice. We waited over 45 minutes for our food, which seemed extreme on a Tuesday at 6:30pm - there were two groups who came in after us, but otherwise wasn't that full. The power plant burrito was a little weird with broccoli and kale and would have been better without those. Now, the roadie salad was AMAZING and the biggest redeeming factor of the evening. I was so excited to see a mainly vegan menu somewhere! Getting there- the drive is up a steep hill, something we wished we knew earlier! We were wondering if we were going to the right place. Getting up the hill and going in, the left side is a bike shop and the right side is the restaurant. You go in and order at the counter, they give you a number, and the food is brought out to your table. The tables inside and outside are spaces really well. Outside is gorgeous! Nicely shaded, there's picnic tables and a table with chairs. I got the plant powered burrito, which was fantastic. My only issue is that mine wasn't rolled correctly and came apart almost immediately. I ended up eating it with a fork, which was a little disappointing. The inside was full of great foods, though! Ranch Camp is a decent and affordable casual food spot in Stowe, somewhat of a rare thing in recent years. Plus, they've got a great vegetarian/vegan selection for those in need of it. Having had a number of menu items, I haven't been unhappy with any of them. Plus, service is fast and friendly. Good local craft beer selection as there should be for any modern Vermont establishment. Food to go is the only downside I'd say, the containers aren't great and it's often sweaty and ruined by the time you get it, so definitely opt to eat-in, if you can, which is good because they've got a counter terrace overlooking some of the town (slightly blocked by trees unfortunately), as well as picnic tables. Overall, I'm glad this place is still here, as the town is always evolving. I'll continue to stop by for food when I'm in town. read more

Came in on a weekday night and had burritos. Nice setting, plenty of seating both indoor and out, nice beer selection and pleasant. They warned us that it would take 40 minutes for food to come out and they were on target with that so be aware of that even if you order something like a burrito and order a beer, sit outside and enjoy the weather. So here is a belated review of this restaurant. We were in Stowe recently to enjoy the quiet season between peepers and skiers. I came upon the restaurant on line and found that it had a great amount of delicious sounding foods. We picked the Family Taco Box. We were feeling some veggies so chose the vegetable protein. What an outstanding presentation and a great value. The amount of food was incredible and included a large salad to share as well as all the fixings for tacos you could imagine. And to top it off it came with dessert! Two large chocolate chunk cookies were included. We were so full from the fresh and tasty food that we saved them for the way home the next day. The box is only available for takeout but that was the best choice for our evening. Ranch camp should be proud of its freshness, quality and delicious taste treat. Definitely a place to visit next time that we are in the area. read more

We're locals and heard great things about Ranch Camp. We went there today, and aside from the great service by Holly, we had a very disappointing experience. The fried 'chokes were super salty and there were hardly any "hearts', mostly fried leaves. Since the 'chokes were so salty the tamari dipping sauce was just too much. The sticky balls weren't sticky at all. They were mushy and boring. There was nothing about them that stood out, which was disappointing. We had high hopes for them. The falafel nuggets had good flavor, and the outside was crunchy, but the inside was terribly undercooked... not fluffy at all. The hippie fries were the consistency of biscotti... not much to praise and wouldn't order again. The nachos were pretty good. The "crunchy"/baked cheese on the nachos would've been nice with a little queso for contrast. That being said. We finished most of them. The french fries were great. We believe in second chances, so we might go back. Hopefully, they were just having a bad day. read more

This was the place to stop by for lunch. Get here earlier or during the peak time, there is a bit of a wait to put in your lunch order. We ordered the cheese quesadilla (for kid), burrito , the rock w/ pork. All were delicious but my favorite was the power bowl (the rock). The pork was juicy and well flavored. My husband got the burrito and it was not easy to eat and broke apart easily - probably because there was so much food in there. We have bought (and consigned) multiple bikes through them 2) the food and beer selection are excellent. Everything is good but the falafel and chicken sandwiches are ridiculous 3) finally, it is located right at a trailhead accessing Cady Hill. It literally is like a killer base lodge for mountain biking 4) much more...they just added Backyard and the whole scene in the parking lot is like A-basin for spring skiing. I got the Vermexico burrito and it was excellent. The ingredients were quality and well dispersed throughout the burrito. Very casual spot that is in partially a bike shop and partially a restaurant but it is not intimidating if biking is not your thing as it isn't mine! There are a few bar seats and a fair amount of tables. We didn't have drinks at lunch but they offer local beers. Our food was ready quickly and service was friendly. Also felt reasonably priced.
