Had some good experiences there before but after today won't be back. Can chalk up an interaction with a disgruntled employee as a bad day, but back to back, there's something wider, wrong. Was curious to learn more about a ski to purchase and guy downstairs running rentals w a bit of a limp said, "I'm way too busy to bother with this" went upstairs and pretty similar attitude from woman working register w dark hair / nose ring. Maybe because its a holiday and they were probably busy and likely under-staffed, it was just a bad day, but it's tough to justify going back when there are better options such as Pinnacle in town read more

Had almost no selection of snowboard bindings, boots, and snowboards. That is not a huge issue since the store seems to be more ski focused. The old guy with a cane however was less than helpful. We were looking around his store for poles that we might purchase since we are proficient skiiers looking to rent snowboards for this trip. He proceeds to question why we are not trying on the boots he gave us when he hadn't even confirmed that he had the correct size bindings or boots for the entire group and has us rush to put on our gear in his "very busy store" with one other guest looking for gear along with us. I am sure this place has seen better days. Just try to not catch them on a bad day I guess. Would not come back, I suggest you do the same. read more

horrible service. i've been skiing for 10 years and have never been rushed or talked to with such attitude. We were renting snowboards and we're looking at ski poles that where 120$ that we were going to buy for ourselves. when the Old man with the cane saw us trying out the poles that we were planning to purchase, he decided to tell us to hurry up and that he's going to move our rentals to the side and do something else. we were there for a total of 5 minutes. he also told us that we needed to wait for him to find the bindings and in our waiting we where also rushed there are plenty of other places to get rentals so i recommend you go anywhere else but here if you wanted to be treated with respect in the slightest way, unless you plan on renting everything you need under 5 minutes and are fast enough to get out of their sight. read more

Bikes were good well-priced ($25/4hrs) and with ample parking this is a perfect spot to pick up the 11 mile round trip Stowe bike trail. Staff were friendly and the store is fully equipped with bike gear and back country camping supplies. Lots of deals to be had on bikes, too. The bathroom was big and pristine, but watch out for all the uneven floor boards and unexpected steps up/down within the store. read more

MountainOps is the perfect location to rent bikes. We visited during a very busy time of year (peak October) and the start of Stowe's beautiful bike path was right by their building. This led us directly to Stowe's busy downtown area and we were very thankful we weren't in the long line up of cars trying to find parking. Customer service is amazing, I emailed a few times before our visit and always received a prompt and friendly response. The bikes we rode were in great condition. I recommend reserving a bike in advance (no cost to you) and request a bike basket. Baskets are limited so have a backup plan if they aren't available, ie: bring a backpack just in case. I will definitely rent from MountainOps again if I'm ever back in the area! read more

We highly recommend this place for rentals. Stopped in on a busy weekend for some two-day rentals of alpine skis, boots, and poles. Walked in and out in less than 20 minutes. Jason had us registered, fitted, and out the door faster than you can say "downhill racer on an icy course!" The rentals were for the next few days; he said pull right up to the door tomorrow morning as soon as we open and the 'set-up' will all be ready to go. And sure enough they were! Great equipment, great service, and, ultimately, a GREAT two days of incredible skiing. Upon return, George the receiver was speedy to the task; received equipment and didn't even ask if we crashed. Such a gentleman! Thanks for that. This is the second time we've rented here. The fist time was six years ago and it was the same great service and equipment. We had a great experience renting bicycles here. It is located at the very beginning of the Stowe bicycle path. The bicycle path is absolutely amazing and it follows the course of a shallow river.we stopped and waded in the river which had a wonderful swimming hole. We were able to rent a small trailer for our dog, who also loved the experience!. They have Ebikes as well. This is by far the best ski/outdoor shop in Stowe. It might look small but they have everything you need. The service is incredible. Everything is fairly priced. They don't push you into anything. Did not purchase anything, but browsed for as long as my family would let me. I have ever seen a bigger retail selection of touring and telemark gear. Giant array of touring bindings and boots. Seemed like they had dozens of types of skins, they had cross-country and telemark boots and bindings for kids, as well as a a large variety of alpine gear. Broad inventory of Faction, Nordica, Volkl and Black Crows. End of season sale prices on alpine gear looked to be about 40% of MSRP. Prices are great as they will match online prices, while also offering better service / recommendations. Also, my 4 year old loves this store as there are so many great places to hide from mommy and daddy...plus they have stickers / decals. We go here to rent demos of the latest skis and have also bought skis here. They are near the mountain making things super convenient. Ski repairs are done quickly and professionally, never suggesting work which does not really need to be done. Their demo program is impressive as is their selection of skis.
