We were traveling from Louisiana (where there's no need for snow clothes) to Colorado where we would definitely need weather appropriate clothing. KitLender had it all. I ordered a full kit for myself (a north face jumpsuit, boots, gloves, and goggles) as well as a pair of snow pants. My husband got a snow bib and boots. And my toddler got a full kit (snow bib, jacket, boots, mittens, and goggles). ALL of this for a fraction of the cost to buy. However, the best part was I had to pack NONE of it. It was delivered to my lodge, we used it, repacked it, and it was picked up by FedEx from the lodge to go back to KitLender. I think it was the least stressful part of our family vacation (lol). Zero stars if that were an option. Absolute failure when it mattered most. I ordered ski clothing from Kit Lender for 9 people nearly a full month in advance (28 days) for what was supposed to be a once-in-a-lifetime family trip to Big Sky. We did everything right to avoid issues. Kit Lender did everything wrong. When FedEx tracking showed delays, I proactively contacted the company on December 31. I was reassured they were "working on options." That reassurance turned out to be meaningless. Fast forward to January 2, the night before our 8am flight, and suddenly I'm told nothing can be done. It gets worse. When I called customer service, I was actually told that I should drive to Billings, Montana to pick up the shipment myself from a FedEx warehouse. Let that sink in. Their proposed solution was that I abandon my travel plans to fix their logistics failure. I asked a very reasonable question: why not arrange Saturday delivery, since the items were already sitting at the Billings FedEx facility? I was told a manager named Ben would call me back after speaking with FedEx. He never did. Instead, Ben sent a dismissive email claiming FedEx doesn't deliver to business addresses on weekends. I immediately responded clarifying that we were staying in a private home, not a business. No response. I called again asking for Ben. The person who answered hesitated, clearly knew who I was, and said "uhhh... is this Nikki?" before telling me Ben would call me shortly. He never did. I have now called four times and am sent straight to voicemail. No callback. No urgency. No ownership. Here's the part that matters most: This was a bucket-list trip for my mother, who has breast cancer. She asked for her children and their partners to take her skiing in Big Sky. We spent an enormous amount of money on this trip. And thanks to Kit Lender's complete lack of accountability, we are arriving with no ski clothing for anyone and scrambling at the last minute to fix a problem that should never have happened. Yes, they offered a refund. And then they disappeared. Refunds don't fix ruined plans. Refunds don't replace lost time. Refunds don't excuse a total failure of customer care when things go wrong. Every company looks good when everything goes smoothly. Kit Lender showed exactly who they are when things were in distress. The answer was silence, deflection, and indifference. If your trip matters to you, do not trust this company. When it counted, they did not care -- not about our vacation, not about solutions, and certainly not about their customers. read more

We had such a great experience with Kit Lender! We are Floridians that were going on our first family ski trip. It would have cost thousands for me to have purchased all of the clothing we would have needed for all of us - and then it would have just sat in the closet unused afterwards, and my kids would have grown out of the sizes quickly. I loved that I was able to rent the 4X full gear kits (waterproof ski jackets, pants, boots, waterproof gloves and goggles!) we needed for the vacation for the cost of two jackets - and return them afterwards! Kitlender sent the wrong pants, and two pair of mismatched gloves. I returned everything they sent me at completion of visit. They charged me for the pants I sent back (which were the ones they sent me), two pairs of gloves, a missing pair of goggles (I packed up every pair of goggles that were sent to me). My kid did lose the little bag that one of the goggles came in and they charged me $2.00 for that bag, which is totally fine because we did actually lose that. Kit lender shipped out a children's glove in a womens kit - wrecking our ski weekend. My fiance missed her 9 am group instruction because we were busy tracking down a pair of gloves for her. And because it was only a weekend trip - she was not able to reschedule and we were not able to ski the second day. We got 2 hours of the 4 hour class - and that was all the skiing we were able to do because kitlender failed to provide the equipment needed - they didn't check their work prior to shipping a set of children's gloves for an adult kit. Then - they refused to believe me - waiting until they got the kit back to discuss the resolution - they refunded us $15 of $300 rentals - rental gear we were only able to use 2 hours because of their negligence - ruining our first ski vacation. BEWARE!! They don't care about their clients. They don't take responsibility for their shoddy work. They don't adequately compensate you for their mistakes. I was about to drop a few stacks at the ski store and then I giogled and found kit lenders. In minutes I had the top of the line gear mailed out to my lodge. It arrived a day before. They sent two pants and two types because I was unsure about my size. The jacket I used was brand new with tags. The jacket alone cost 1800. I got snow boots and pants and goggles. Everything you need delivered to your hotel for a fraction of what you would pay at the store. I would I have to go on ten trips to justify spending 3000 on gear and them lug all this stuff up the mountain. It's the rent a runway of the snow. You guys are going to blow up. My friends and I have used kitlender for ski gear three years in a row. The clothes have always been high quality (the first time, in 2020, they were literally new with tags) and have arrived with plenty of time to spare. Returning them couldn't be easier either, and the convenience of not having to pack bulky snow gear, and store it the rest of the year, is worth every penny. The sizing can be tricky, like any online orders, especially because even the brand's own size charts can be off, and each brand's sizing is different (as any woman who has ever tried to buy clothes knows). It may be helpful to go to a local store and get an idea of what your size in a particular brand may be. But I blame the brands for that. Can't wait to use them again next year. read more

Could not have been happier. We received exactly what we ordered, in brand-new or almost-brand-new condition, delivered right to our resort. The box was waiting for us when we walked in so there was no using up precious space in our suitcases with bulky, heavy ski gear. Each set came wrapped neatly in its own package so all I had to do was hand them out and everyone was ready to ski. At the end of the trip each of us packed our things in the bags they came in, stacked them in the original box, used tape and labels provided by Kit Lender, and dropped the box at FedEx on our way to the airport. A couple of my friends decided to do a backpacking trip and 2 of us didn't really have backpacking gear. Due to covid there aren't that many options to rent locally so I ended up googling backpacking rental gear. I browsed through a couple sites and ended up staying on Kit Lender. I really appreciate the free shipping AND returns. I was able to browse their inventory and find what I needed. The only challenging thing about their site was the sizing for backpacks. They do tell you dimensions, but it is hard to know if it is a S/M or L/XL . Otherwise, customer service is VERY responsive and they were really easy to work with. My equipment came in a couple days early which was extremely helpful so we could prepare to pack and gather our supplies a little sooner than later. The backpack and sleeping bag were both very useful and performed exactly like I needed them to. They were clean and in good shape. Their prices are competitive and the returns are SO easy. Great idea, but the rental products for backpacking are not suited for real adventure. I rented the basic one person backpacking kit, the 1p tent was replaced by a 2p tent and was really heavy and bulky (6lbs!). Just storing the tent, sleeping bad and pad took most of the space in the backpack. Would recommend renting stuff from local REI's, they actually rent ultralight gear fit for backpacking which will make your life a lot easier. read more

I rented from KitLender and never received the equipment I was supposed to. Instead of helping me track down the equipment, KitLender told me it was my responsibility to figure out where it had gone (just how you want to spend your vacation). They never apologized for the inconvenience. Even though I immediately reported the gear as missing, by the end of the vacation they began sending me emails saying it was time to "return" the still missing items. They delivered the kit to the fedex near my Air B&B rental 10 days early and it was returned to sender by the time I picked it up. No notification or explanation. They refunded my $85 kit, but I'm still out $500+ for ski rentals/lift tickets/ and an entire vacation centered around this one day of skiing! Ski clothes were in excellent condition. My friend ski outfit still had the tags on them. They function perfectly for my ski weekend. The outfit came with everything I needed for for skiing and riding a snow mobile. My ski outfit arrived to my hotel a few days prior to my arrival. Kit Lender is a great concept. I don't ski often enough to warrant buying my own ski apparel, nor do i have room to store extra stuff in my NYC apartment. When I do go on the occasional ski weekend and need gear, however, Kit Lender is the perfect solution. The kits include all the necessary apparel in coordinated sets that you pre-select. All kits include a ski jacket and pants, gloves, and goggles. Some kits include more layers as well, if needed. They use high quality brands (Patagonia, North Face, etc), and all the items are in excellent condition (if not brand new). If you have any questions about the products or what size to select, Kit Lender's customer service is very helpful and responsive. The price for a 3 day rental is fair, especially considering the time and cost of having to research and purchase each item on your own. An added bonus is the delivery/return. Rather than having to try to fit a bulky jacket and pants into your weekend bag, you can have the kit delivered directly to where you're staying. At the end of the rental, drop it back in the post yourself or give it to the front desk of the hotel/lodge in the prepaid shipping envelope. So easy. Just wow! Incredible service and quality! It was super easy to order the snow suits I wanted for my family.
