I was looking to rent ski clothes for my family to use for our first ever ski trip just in case no one liked it or ever wanted to do it again. I did some online research and came across the Kit lender site. The price was very reasonable and the customer service was great. Our kit arrived on time and the instructions to return the kit even easier. They make it very easy and convenient. We've used KitLender twice this year. Once for a trip to Steamboat and another to Utah. The gear was always top notch and a few things were even brand new! What I loved is that: 1) I have a 4 year old who is growing taller every day so this kept me from buying gear that would be useless in a year. 2) I've been losing weight and changed sizes between trips! I also loved trying different styles and sizes. 3) We had to fly ViaAir and our luggage allowance was limited so this prevented from paying for an extra checked bag. 4) It was at my hotel front desk when I arrived all nicely packaged. Just was so easy! The only thing that is a pain (but not KitLender's fault) is calling Fedex and getting them to pick up the package. Had to wait on hold for a while for someone to answer. read more

Rented a tent for my granddaughter's vacation with us. The renting process was convenient, it arrived in plenty of time, was easy to assemble, and clean. But the best feature was realized the second night of camping when it remained waterproof in spite of significant thunderstorms. I had to buy replacement clothes for my family at the mountain last minute. The company blamed me for the issue and would not issue a refund. A few friends and I decided to go for a backpacking trip and rent gear from kit lender. Everything was either brand new or super clean. They provided the little things like pillows and sporks that other companies didn't even include as an option. The gear was pretty lightweight. A warning to all considering this service. You can only cancel your order if it has not shipped yet! I placed my order two weeks before my 'First Ski Day'. The listed FAQs on the webpage state an order may be canceled up to 8 days before first ski day. They shipped my order one day after placing it. My circumstances changed and I needed to cancel. When I provided notice 9 days before my first ski day (a day earlier than described policy) I was told my order could not be canceled b/c it had already shipped. Therefore...basically I had 24hrs more/less to cancel...not up to 8 days before first ski day. I have a copy of the transcript if anybody is interested. read more

I love the promise of KitLender; however, be very careful, especially if you've never tried on the clothes you're ordering. My wife, who's tall and slender, followed their suggestion of ordering clothes one size over her normal size (she's a 4/6) and ordered (8) and the clothes didn't fit. When we contacted them to let them know, they told me that we had to pay $50 to get a new set and my wife "must be wrong about her size," instead of just shipping us the correct size. After ordering multiple outfits for our entire family, we were pretty shocked that they would ask us to spend more $$ and they wouldn't just send us a replacement! When we spoke to a local ski retailer about the clothing in question, they told us that KitLender was off with their sizing. While I've shared all of these details with KitLender prior to posting publicly, KitLender has not responded in 7 days; hence, I've felt it important to post on Yelp to ensure others don't have similar negative experiences. read more

Website touts 24/7 customer service. Once chat request was answered, could not work through the language barrier to get my question answered. Then, after emailing them, it took almost a full 24 hours to get a response. When I went online to order, the website showed "green" (aka, free shipping) for my date. I also had the option of choosing free shipping during checkout. I then received an email stating that I could not, in fact, get the free shipping, and that I had to pay $50 for expedited shipping. When I notified customer service of my above experience, I was told that - even though their website told me TWICE that I could - I would not be getting free shipping, and that I would instead get a refund. Very poor customer service experience, and will absolutely not be recommending to friends and family. read more

Kit Lender to the rescue! My sister and I went skiing for the first time in Park City over Christmas and had absolutely none of the gear we needed. Kit Lender allowed us to get top of the line gear and look the look in PC! Every single item was actually BRAND NEW and still had the tags on it - amazing. They fit perfectly thanks to the sizing guides and were all amazing quality and amazing brands - so we totally blended in with the other pros in the slopes. We loved not having to pack all that bulky gear in our suitcase. Even if we continue to ski, I would probably prefer using Kit Lender over buying the gear because of the newness of the products and the easy shipping!! This was my first time using Kit Lender and I could not have been more impressed and pleased! Needed new ski gear after the COVID 19 made my existing gear too small, but didn't want to purchase. This place is amazing! Shipped top quality (North Face) gear including gloves and goggles to my cabin. Pants were brand new with tags still on, jacket looked as though it was new too. Followed size guides on their website and everything fit perfectly. Box arrived early and was waiting for me at check in. Returns could not have been easier, packed return label and shipping tape in the box. I LOVED using this service, not having to pack bulky clothes or deal with cleaning after our ski trip. I rented from KitLender and never received the equipment I was supposed to. Instead of helping me track down the equipment, KitLender told me it was my responsibility to figure out where it had gone. They never apologized for the inconvenience. Even though I immediately reported the gear as missing, by the end of the vacation they began sending me emails saying it was time to "return" the still missing items. For weeks I have emailed and called them requesting a refund. Finally I had my credit card company dispute the charge. Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. read more

Rented a two-person tent kit for a stay at a National Park. It was so convenient to order everything we needed, as I do not camp often. My only complaint is that the backpacking kit, which would've been easier to carry, did not come with everything we needed, so we ordered the 2 person car camping. It came in a huge box, which I understand is necessary, but for two women to then try to carry that with us to our destination was hard, especially because this only ships to FedEx and could not be picked up at our National Park, which is only serviced by UPS. Perhaps we could've planned a little better, but also wish there was another way to have made it a little bit more convenient for us when we had the equipment. This may not happen to others, as this was a pretty unique situation - remote location (Alaska) and we had to rely on bus transportation, and could not drive a car into the national park. Sizing instructions were very accurate and quality was great for clothing. When only skiing once a year or so or if you have growing kids this is a great alternative to buying. I would definitely recommend. Only caution is children's goggles are below standard in my opinion as the lenses popped out multiple times on both pair while putting on or taking off. Kit Lender totally saved my husband and I on our recent ski trip to Montana! Neither of us had skied in 10+ years and being from CA we had virtually no real winter clothes. I'm so glad we decided to give Kit Lender a try for our 2yr old and 5yr old. Kids outgrow clothing so quickly and snow gear is expensive. We felt kit lenders pricing for kids gear to be very fair and affordable. The clothing was of good quality and in good condition. We had everything shipped to our home instead of our destination. It arrived several days before we expected it to which was nice. The only thing keeping this from a 5 star rating is that the kit came with 2 left gloves for our 5yr old. Kit Lender fixed this immediately and the new gloves were overnighted to us. This was not a problem, as we decided to have the kits sent before our vacation started but it would have been a larger issue had the kits been shipped to our destination, as we would not have discovered this problem until our first ski day. My sister-in-law ordered a full snowboard kit from KitLender for a snowboard trip in upstate NY. She is from Austin, and was visiting us in the city. Because she had ordered the kit to be delivered to our apartment in NY, she didn't bring any of her heavy winter gear to NY with her to save packing space, expecting the kit to be there and ready for her for our trip this weekend. The NIGHT BEFORE the delivery, at around 9:45pm, we received a call from KitLender customer service. The message was literally: "Hey. We can't fulfill your order. Call me back I'll be here all night." When we called back, we were informed that they had never sent her order and because they solely use FedEx (who doesn't deliver on weekends) they couldn't get us anything, leaving my sister-in-law without boots, a heavy winter jacket, and snow-pants - which NO ONE BUT KITLENDER rents. So, we were forced to purchase her new versions of all of these. The cherry on top? Not once did the customer service rep apologize. Instead, they offered her store-credit in place of a refund, which we demanded. Don't use KitLender. Just rent from the ski shop on the mountain, and bring your own gear. The perfect service for anyone who just doesn't ski or snowboard enough to justify buying gloves, goggles, ski pants, and a ski jacket. I spent around a $100 (a steal!) to rent the full set for the whole weekend since I hadn't been snowboarding in over 10 years and I really don't know when I'll ever go back again. Super easy to use and free shipping both ways! The only tricky thing I would say is figuring out the sizing and I had to do some online research to get a sense of the how the fitting would work.
