My gf had the fried chicken salad and said it was good. I had the Stoner's Chicken Mac n Cheese. The chicken was popcorn chicken without much meat in it. The "caramelized" onions were just lightly cooked and still translucent white, no nice brown caramelizing. Mac n cheese was ok but nothing special. Sauce was fairly plain. I wouldn't order it again. The food here was just amazing. At first walking in we felt a bit out of place but the server made us feel right at home! The environment was cozy and casual, making the dining experience very enjoyable! I recommend the food here to everyone! The food took a bit long to come out but it was 100% worth the wait. I also had a burger (moog burger ) which was cooked to perfection but I forgot to take a picture! This is a "don't judge a book by its cover" type of place that deserves more recognition. read more

I'm guessing all these great reviews are written by loyal regulars, or maybe we just caught them on an off night. This is a very small place, crowded, old, a little dirty, with VERY slow service and average to below-average food. We sat outside with a dozen locals who all knew each other, very friendly vibe with everyone stopping at every table to say hi. Tuesday night and had a live solo guitar/singer, quite loud and good on guitar, but should stick to softer, simpler tunes. We waited over an hour and a half(!) for our simple order - onion rings (well breaded but cold), shrimp salad sandwich (surprisingly good) and chef's salad with grilled chicken (came cold). Clearly the food had been made 30-60 minutes before coming to our table and might have been pretty good if not cold and starting to petrify. There was only one waitress who was torn between hustling and chilling with all the locals. After being there more than two hours I went to see if she'd rung up my bill and she was talking to friends at the bar, seemed surprised to see that I was still there. So, classic rundown neighborhood hangout - amateur but enthusiastic music, competent kitchen, beat up premises, and service that can disappear for way too long. read more

This place has the best maple creamies! In the summer, they had an outdoor stand so it was COVID safe. They also have a great pulled pork sandwich plus awesome homemade fries. If you like craft beer they have a nice Vermont selection. read more

The reason for 3 stars I had company from Connecticut come up 3 of us with a $ 160 bill no problem but hitting me with a $4.92 surcharge for using a credit card after what I spent was EXTREMELY TACKY. I heard a sad story yesterday. My brother-in-law went to Moog's Place in our small town for dinner on Saturday night. It was 7:30, they walked in and there was a couple eating and a few guys at the bar. They asked to be seated and one of the four guys at the bar turned to look at them and said "you've got to be cotton-picken-kidding me", he repeated again and again, loader and loader as the bartender stood there doing nothing. The couple that was dining asked for their check with looks of disgust on their faces. My brother-in-law and his wife stood up quitely and left. This is not an unfamiliar story but it's one that enrages me. I fear for this moment, with my family. I hate to see this so close to home. read more

Burger was decent, but the chips & salsa needs some work, or take it off the menu. Nobody wants salsa served in the size of a shot glass bowl. One of the best places to eat and drink in the United States, period!!!!!!!! Fantastic food, awesome beer selection and amazing mixed drinks. Not to mention the chill atmosphere. The Bloody Mary should be on everyone's bucket list. The wings are so good I still dream about them even though I moved away 7 years ago. The jalapeño poppers are the best I've ever had. This place caters to their friend, and regulars. The owner has no idea how to expand his clients base in terms of patrons and in terms of booking music. Basically this place won't stay open for long if the owner (Tom) doesn't get off his high horse and realizes he needs to bring in new faces into his bar. I tried booking a show there and was told to call back at least 4 different times, and on the 4th time the owner calls me back yelling at me telling me how busy he is, and doesn't have time to write me into his calendar (which takes 10 seconds). I'm sorry but that is not how to talk to people period especially if they are trying to make you money. As far as I'm concern this place will fail along with the other two bars that were in there. Im a local and consider this one of the better bars in town. They have a good selection of live music and excellent homemade jalapeno poppers. The building is in its third, perhaps fourth reincarnation as a bar and is doing well. Good place but the food prices are astronomically high. read more

Moog's Place has the absolute worst service. Went the other night and nobody checked in with me after I got my food. Sat and waited for someone to bring me my check for 45 minutes, no refills, nobody came to make sure everything was okay. After finally getting it, by someone who wasn't my waitress, I walked out the side door just to find my waitress sitting outside smoking a cigarette. The boys and I were on our annual motorcycle sojourn. Moog's was right in the heart of the quiet downtown. We ate dinner there one night. Appies were good, dinner was also. Price was right in keeping with the area. They had a large variety of beers to choose from and a bar inside that was busy. We ate outside on the deck . Our waitress Michelle was good and friendly and put up with us. They have nightly entertainment , open mic night, etc. We ended up back there the next night for beers and relaxing. The owner Tom came out and shot the breeze with us. Nice guy, community oriented and very nice. Sounds like they do many many things for the locals. Good food, fine vibe, but only 2 stars 'cause of service. My brother in law ordered the Travis (a 1 lb burger challenge that if you eat the whole plate you win a t shirt) - it's a $22 meal. They neglected to mention at ordering that there weren't any tshirts though. The waitress waited to say anything till the meal ways over, even after checking on us several times, then didn't offer to comp the meal (or even lower the price to just a normal burger), the waitress offered an old hat, 2 coozies, and a weird glass. He asked for a voucher instead (she said "it could be years before we get more shirts" then said she had Magic Hat condoms if desired), but she wouldn't accommodate & wouldn't offer any other suggestions. Overall a fine place, but they really should've at least mentioned there was no tshirt before ordering & should not have been so incredulous when we asked for alternative prizes. read more
