Blueberry cornbread muffins with citrus butter

Cars were parked in the lot plus along the road, attesting to the popularity of this resturaunt however my friend and I were seated right away, we sat in a very cozy section in the back. We could hear the band but it wasn't too loud. I opted for a light lunch of Mac and tomato soup. The soup was ok but needed some hot sauce to kick it up a notch The corn muffins were confusing ,there were blueberries in it and served with a citrus butter. The muffins were somewhat dry, and if I wasn't told that they were corn bread muffins I would not have known ,seemed more like a cross between a muffin and cornbread. I'm not sure if I wold have chose a citrus butter ,I think a maple or honey butter would have been better.

Absolutely in love with this gem of a place! We ended up here purely by luck and randomly, because we got lost in trying to get up to the Cliff House on top of Mansfield Mountain (hello, taking the gondola!) Anyhoo, we ended up being so HUNGRY and in our lost state, we ended up just asking a Good Samaritan who told us to check out this little place for brunch! We finally made it around 1:20 (Christmas Eve, too, BTW) and they were closing at 2pm. I felt that at any other place, any party waltzing in about half hour prior to closing would be met with an attitude and / or an eye roll. But not the staff at Jericho Tavern! They were so warm, friendly and welcoming!! We sat down and had some amazing grub! We weren't rushed at all either. The waitress was kind and friendly and patient. I had Steak and Eggs (for extra protein!) which was cooked to perfection - truly yummy! And I never get Steak & Eggs usually. The coffee was also delicious and my hubby had the CUTEST and scrumptious hot chocolate! I would love to come back to this cozy nice place with some TRULY tasty diner options! Loved it, loved it, loved it!

Absolutely LOVED this spot. The food was so incredibly good and the service was awesome. I showed up right at open (because I got kicked out of my hotel for check out) and they were so sweet. When I was a server I used to hate when people would show up right at open but they were the best. The place is so cozy with so many good views. Lots of windows to look at scenery and a patio :) 10/10

    The band.

Mrs. Martin Vanzo gives this restaurant 5 stars for its food quality. And its service also gets 5 stars. The atmosphere is a 10 out of 10. The wings are especially good. The maple chicken chili BLT is also excellent.

Food choices are limited, way over priced and the food wasn't great. Definitely not worth what they charge and the service was awful.

I heard about a restaurant in Essex shopping center,a breakfast /lunch place. It was 1/2 before closing ,patrons were still coming in. I love the back story of this place ,set in the western mountains with decore to match. it was fun to see all the antlers made into chandeliers . I ordered the flaky waffles, somewhat like a croissant but waffle shaped I ordered mine with cheese . It was melt in your mouth! It has a really cute, homey feel, and the staff were all friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in. We ordered the Skits N' Gravy, a side of the sourdough pancake, and two coffees. My husband--who absolutely loves biscuits and gravy--was excited to see the Skits N' Gravy on the menu. While it wasn't quite what he expected (the biscuit was much denser than a traditional biscuit and the gravy is bacon-based rather than sausage), he still enjoyed trying something different but said he'd just order a different dish next time as this was not his favorite. I had the sourdough pancake, and for a "side," it was impressively large. It was delicious and came with Vermont maple syrup, which was a great touch. The coffee was good, and we appreciated that they offered almond milk as a dairy-free option. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and would definitely return if we're in the area again--just with a slightly different ordering strategy next time!

The staff are always so polite and friendly. The breakfast sandwiches are always so delicious. Many options for vegetarians, or you can have the most delicious bacon you'll ever eat on a sandwich. The rolls are fresh baked in house, and certainly tasty, though I think they'd be better a bit smaller. The baked goods aren't extravagant in terms of uniqueness, but they hit the basics exceptionally well. Blueberry muffins are always moist, and the morning roll with the sugar and butter is so light and fluffy. I like that they also offer savory options in their herb scones. I find their menu prices to be quite reasonable. Most baked goods are around $3, with some less. Breakfast sandwiches start at $4 and the $6 ones are well worth it. In all fairness, I've never been nearby for lunch so I can't comment on that. But WCS is delicious, friendly and affordable. I was concerned for them when a competitor opened nearby, but they've weathered it and I know that I'll always choose WCS for a simple breakfast or pastry treats for the office.

Which mind you an almond croissant is simply a day old croissant that is split in half and filled with almond past and rebaked. They had been out of coffee and almond croissants that day and I don't know about the ambiance for that day. However I do know that the croissant we got was not fresh it was stale and the didn't have an airy flaky texture that true butter laminated croissants are supposed to have. It tastes like they used a cheap subpar butter and have burnt the croissant. The breakfast burrito was also badly wrapped and leaking everywhere and had for some god awful reason been filled with hard boiled eggs instead of scrambled eggs which only made it harder to handle.

When we arrived, the parking lot was busy, which felt like a great sign. It was a Saturday morning, so there was a short wait to order and to grab a table, but the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. The interior is eclectically decorated and has a cozy, fun vibe that reminded us of the coffee shop in the Friends TV show. We ordered a brewed coffee and an iced coffee--both were excellent--and really appreciated the option of Vermont maple syrup and oat milk. For food, we ordered a regular breakfast sandwich and the Forager vegan breakfast sandwich. We were especially impressed to see a vegan breakfast option on the menu, as many places don't cater to vegans at all, particularly for breakfast. Both sandwiches were delicious, and it was great to feel so thoughtfully accommodated. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and would happily recommend Uncommon Coffee to friends.
