This place nailed it!! Blueberry pancakes were superb. Hot juicy blueberries and local Vermont syrup. I, however, after 25 years in the food and beverage industry, created my own sandwich. Nothing short of perfection. Brie cheese, smoked turkey, bacon and Granny Smith apples. All in a panini made with fresh sourdough bread. Staff is courteous and the establishment is clean.

Good Eats! Friendly attentive staff. The Cook even came over to double check Hubby was good with a particular item on his order. We'll definitely come back again on our next trip to VT.

Ate breakfast here. Food is fresh, made from scratch! No microwave at this eatery! The portion was enough that my husband and I shared. Returned for breakfast the following day

Empty plates equal success. The short stack was a little much for our kiddo (size of them are great)!

Food is delicious and fresh. Pork carnitas omelete was full of veggies and pork. Chorizo migas was yummy. Pancakes were great for our kiddo. We would come back frequently if we lived nearby. When we come back this way, we will stop by again.

Excellent place for breakfast!! 10 out of 10 for the bacon and the French toast! Great coffee and very friendly staff!

You order at the counter when you get there. My girlfriend and I shared homefries and they were pretty bland. I got the chorizo Benedict which was good! My girlfriend likes her breakfast dish as well. Overall, it was a mediocre breakfast but a good place if you're in a rush or trying to grab a quick bite.

Firebird Cafe is a reliably good cafe for brunch/ lunch or breakfast in Essex. It is one of the best brunch options in Essex. (As evidenced by the crowded parking lot and packed seating). You seat yourself, order by the cashier and the food is brought to you according to your number. I've been here a couple times with K and found the food to be better and better each time. We met a friend post holidays for brunch. This place was not that busy around 10 am but filled up around 11:30 am. I ordered a coffee and breakfast sandwich on croissant. K had a chorizo fresco (omelette with chorizo with avocado and non-spicy green chile sauce). My bacon egg and cheese croissant sandwich was perfectly executed. The croissant was toasted crispy, the bacon was perfectly crunchy and the eggs were soft and mildly runny. I loved it. The only item lacking was the chipotle sauce: it lacked spiciness or smokiness. The food is American/New Mexican and reminded me of food in Santa Fe. Specifically the Large food portions, green chile sauce, chipotle sauce and great chorizo. The green chile sauce however was not roasted or spicy at all, which was a little disappointing but maybe that's what the locals like. Also the chipotle sauce was not smoky or spicy. I would definitely return for the delicious coffee and great food. Just don't expect the sauces to be similar to that of New Mexican cuisine.

Save yourself stay away, far away. I would have better off going to Taco Bell. Whatever you do don't order the fish tacos.

It has a really cute, homey feel, and the staff were all friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in. We ordered the Skits N' Gravy, a side of the sourdough pancake, and two coffees. My husband--who absolutely loves biscuits and gravy--was excited to see the Skits N' Gravy on the menu. While it wasn't quite what he expected (the biscuit was much denser than a traditional biscuit and the gravy is bacon-based rather than sausage), he still enjoyed trying something different but said he'd just order a different dish next time as this was not his favorite. I had the sourdough pancake, and for a "side," it was impressively large. It was delicious and came with Vermont maple syrup, which was a great touch. The coffee was good, and we appreciated that they offered almond milk as a dairy-free option. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and would definitely return if we're in the area again--just with a slightly different ordering strategy next time!

Once seated, the ambiance was warm, cozy, and welcoming perfect for a relaxed breakfast or brunch spot. The space has a friendly neighborhood vibe that makes you want to linger and enjoy your meal. The service was excellent. My server, Sarah B., was attentive, kind, and made sure everything was just right without being overbearing. As a first-time guest, I really appreciated how smooth and welcoming the experience felt. For food, I ordered the Focaccia Melt - $11 with tomato, spinach, cheddar, and basil mayo. I added an egg (+$2) and avocado (+$3.75), and it was absolutely worth it. The focaccia was perfectly toasted, the ingredients were fresh, and the combination of flavors was balanced and satisfying. The egg added richness, and the avocado was creamy and generous. On the side, I had the hashbrowns ($3.50), which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside exactly how hashbrowns should be. To drink, I ordered a hot chai tea latte with almond milk ($4.50). It was warm, flavorful, and not overly sweet great pairing with breakfast. Overall, The Pinwheel delivered great food, excellent service, and a comfortable atmosphere. I'll be back to try more of the menu. I recommend if you're in the Essex Junction area looking for a solid breakfast spot!

When we arrived, the parking lot was busy, which felt like a great sign. It was a Saturday morning, so there was a short wait to order and to grab a table, but the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. The interior is eclectically decorated and has a cozy, fun vibe that reminded us of the coffee shop in the Friends TV show. We ordered a brewed coffee and an iced coffee--both were excellent--and really appreciated the option of Vermont maple syrup and oat milk. For food, we ordered a regular breakfast sandwich and the Forager vegan breakfast sandwich. We were especially impressed to see a vegan breakfast option on the menu, as many places don't cater to vegans at all, particularly for breakfast. Both sandwiches were delicious, and it was great to feel so thoughtfully accommodated. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and would happily recommend Uncommon Coffee to friends. First note, get yourself on their waitlist before you go, as there will be a wait and there is no indoor waiting area and it's a small restaurant. Luckily we were there in nice weather, so we just walked around the farmers market across the street until we got a text that our table was ready. It was about a 30 minute wait on a Sunday around 10 am. There is cute outdoor seating on the sidewalk, but I just went with first available and we got a cozy table near the front. Everything on the menu sounded so delicious and it was tough to choose but I went with the California benedict (veggie sausage, spinach, mushroom, tomato & avocado with two poached eggs & hollandaise on a croissant) and Nate got the breakfast burrito. Our food came out quickly and looked great. I was a little bummed that the eggs were overcooked and closer to hard boiled than poached, but the flavors of everything else made up for that. The hollandaise was lemony and bright, and the mushrooms were super flavorful. I loved this other than the eggs! The potatoes were yummy too and nicely seasoned. I had a few bites of the burrito, which was delicious and big enough for us to bring half with us for later. I can see why this spot is popular, and I would come back for a tuna melt!
