Outstanding Service & Food, But the Smoke Ruined It We had the pleasure of dining at Ramsey Kitchen in Danville, VA, and were beyond impressed with the experience--at least, most of it. First, the staff was exceptional. Every person we encountered was professional, attentive, and truly elevated the dining experience. We were particularly impressed by a young male manager on the floor, who was actively ensuring everything ran smoothly. His leadership and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. The cleanliness of the restaurant was meticulous, which we deeply appreciated. It's clear that the team takes great pride in maintaining a top-tier environment. And the food? Absolutely amazing. Every bite was a testament to the high standards expected from a Gordon Ramsay establishment. For the price, we expected excellence, and in terms of service and cuisine, they delivered. Now for the heartbreaking downside. Despite the perfection inside the restaurant, there was one overwhelming, unavoidable issue: the relentless cigarette smoke. From the moment we arrived until the moment we escaped outside, the thick, choking smoke made it nearly impossible to enjoy our meal. As someone with severe asthma, I was struggling to breathe the entire time. Even two days later, my lungs are still suffering from the exposure. We understand that the restaurant is within a casino, but for such a high-end dining experience, there should be a serious effort to create a better barrier against the smoke. At the very least, guests should be warned about the conditions before making reservations. For the money we spent, the food and service were worth every penny--but we quite literally paid to harm my health. I had to shower and wash all our clothes immediately after leaving just to get rid of the lingering smell. If Ramsey Kitchen could somehow address the issue of smoke intrusion, this would be a 5-star experience all the way. Unfortunately, as it stands, we won't be returning--no matter how incredible the food is--unless changes are made. For anyone sensitive to smoke, consider this a serious warning before dining here. read more

We recently had the pleasure of visiting Ramsay's Kitchen in Danville, VA, for our family's first time. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a bustling atmosphere with loud background music and a crowd of patrons awaiting their reservations. Notably, the hostess, who introduced herself as Anna, demonstrated exceptional composure and courtesy in her interactions with the crowd, maintaining a calm demeanor despite the chaos. As we were seated at our table, Anna's warm personality shone through, even taking the time to sing 'Happy Birthday' to my mother. Our server, Nan, also provided excellent service, bringing a positive atmosphere to our dining experience. The cuisine was outstanding, with the 16 oz Ribeye cooked to perfection and the chicken malanese being particularly delicious. As the old saying goes, save the best for the last and the sticky toffee pudding was delicious , which I highly recommend. She was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain all the menu options in detail, making great recommendations tailored to what we were in the mood for. When we mentioned we hadn't tried a certain dessert yet, she enthusiastically encouraged us to go for it--and wow, it was the highlight of the meal! The dessert was delicious, and her suggestion was spot-on. Katie's service was exceptional from start to finish: super attentive but never overbearing. wow just wow. the food was great! the service was great! the atmosphere was quite and cozy! my husband and i was sitting and chatting in our lil world enjoying ourselves . our server was sarah and she was such a sweet lady. she answered all our questions with no problem and no attitude. ms anna was our hostess and she was just lovely. she came in and i watched he walk around and speak to everyone in the restaurant. she was all smiles! she also answered questions that my husband asked with no problem. she and sarah suggested the desserts for us to try and boi oh boi were they right! we will be going back! oh did i mention, this was our first time eating at ramsey's kitchen! great job everyone read more

Had the opportunity to take my 79 year old mother to Ramsay's Kitchen in October for her birthday. The service from beginning to end was fantastic. Our server SJ (Sarah) was personable, attentive and went over and beyond to meet our needs. I will request her on my next visit! Kudos to the kitchen staff that prepared our meals. The filet mignon was tender and cooked to perfection. We also ordered the fish and chips. The flaky crispy batter fried Haddock was the best I've had. Chef James stole my mother's heart. While the crab cake I ordered was just okay, it didn't detract from the overall quality of the meal. I love his high expectation of excellence and you can tell he passes that work ethic and character down to every member of his kitchen and wait staff. The customer service too is impeccable. I am from Appomattox, VA. Hostess was extremely polite. Waitress was 100% helpful in sharing her take in the food choices for lunch. She was patient while waiting our selection and extra kind. Food was fabulous! My suggestion would be fish and chips. Best Cod I have ever eaten anywhere. Mai Tai was the real deal. Definitely get your monies worth. First off, we LOVE Ramsay's no matter where we are. Anna the host was wonderful and very sweet, she got us right in 2 hrs earlier than our reservation. Austin our waiter was an extreme professional, so friendly and really just a great waiter. We had fish n chips and mac n cheese of which both were mouthwatering good.
