LOVE Ramone's for coffee, meals and baked treats. We really enjoyed the short period when they delivered (early in the pandemic).

Not a bad place. Very friendly customer service and the shop is neat and tidy. Delicious treats of course, but I'd only complain that their selection could be a tad bit better. That's a pretty minor complaint though. As near as I can work out, this is probably the best bakery in the Eureka area. Definitely worth a look. read more

So I called the wonderful staff at Ramone's, paid for a beautiful cake w/ my credit card and it's personally being delivered to the front door of my precious niece tonight. Good coffee, desserts, food, ambiance.........and free WiFi. It's one of my regular stops. I'm not too interested in ordering full-on meals when I come here, but it's good to know that you can pretty much find anything your palate desires here, whether it be sweet or savory, light or heavy. I've had sandwiches, pastries, cake, coffee, soup, and salad here. Can't really say anything bad about any of them. The only time I don't like to be around here is lunch, because the place will likely be completely slammed with employees from the various hospitals and medical practices that abound in the area. Otherwise, I find it a perfectly comfortable place to sit and have a drink, and maybe a small bite to eat throughout the day. The oatcakes that they make are pretty much the "hair of the dog" for me. They're super cheap, very filling, low in fat, and packed with nutrition. Oh yeah, and they taste fantastic, stuffed with oats and all kinds of berries, and topped with a light coating of something sweet and syrupy that has a brown sugar-ish taste. Anyway, this is a fairly regular stop for me when I'm in this part of town, and I suppose I find the other fronts to the north to be comparable. read more

I asked the wonderful people at Ramones to make a croquembouche for me for a birthday party and they did an amazing job! It was a beautifully executed desert that everyone was in awe of! For sure the center of attention at my celebration. For a dessert or pastry for a special occasion I would absolutely go to Ramones again! read more

THIS is the kind of place I long for in my own town. Lots of delicious options from the bakery, baristas and kitchen. I ordered the Ohana pizza and it was cooked perfectly and the flavors melded wonderfully. The baked chevre and toast points was a nice started (and I'm really hit and miss when it comes to goat cheese). My brother in law had the vegetable curry. It was rich, creamy and full of flavor. The pre-packaged egg salad sandwich was tasty and came with red onion, pickles and cheese. When I visit Eureka again, I'll be back here for SURE. read more

Lovely little café. I come here for business meetings occasionally. Great pastries and coffee. A surprisingly diverse assortment. Interestingly, this place fits right into the Humboldt vibe though at the same time transporting you to somewhere else. Where? I don't really know. But you definitely get a sense of being in different a country temporarily. read more

Loved this place. Really wanted to catch the breakfast menu but I was late. I had the Oven Baked Cubano sandwich instead. It was incredible. The pork was perfectly roasted, the bacon was exactly as crispy as it needs to be. Great atmosphere, really friendly staff. Can tell it gets really busy but they seem to move everyone along quickly. The espresso and coffee menu looks amazing also. Can't wait to go back for a cup of Joe and a house made pastry. read more

NEVER AGAIN. We ordered a half sheet cake for a baby shower. Wanted baby blue.. specifically stated NO GREEN. And yet they used green and not baby blue. $62 for them to make a cake with the wrong colors. Plain.. So plain... a decorative ribbon around the outside. AND SPRINKLES THAT I SEE IN THE CRAFTS AREA OF LOCAL STORES. Never again. Maybe it tastes better than it looks? Makes me wish I had just gone with Betty Crocker. I ordered a cake on Thursday be picked up today at 11 o'clock. I called at 10 to make sure it would be ready. they said oh yeah sure I show up at 11:10 and I'm told that they haven't started it yet, it's going to be 11:45 or 12 o'clock. Obviously timeliness does not matter to them or that other people might have things to do rather than wait around for them to feel like doing what they said they would. If I had known this was their attitude on Thursday I would have ordered that birthday cake from somebody else. As it is no cake and no apology I will never try them again. read more

Ramone's on Harrison is pretty much the best example I've encountered of hit or miss. The ambiance is great which makes it my go-to for business meetings with clients, but I'm only happy with both service and food on maybe one out of four trips here. I know, one out of four and I still come here. Because we live two blocks away, the ambiance is perfect for client meetings, and they have beautiful frosted cookies which I bribe my kids with on occasion, they continue to get our business. Examples of bad food and service include: my birthday, I ordered waffles and they came without syrup after a 45 minute wait. When I asked about syrup, it took almost five full minutes for them to come back and tell me that they are out of syrup... nothing like plain, dry waffles to say happy birthday! Today we walked in at 10:48. Breakfast is served until 11am. I grabbed a breakfast menu and started to order. "We aren't serving breakfast. Order lunch." Ummmmm, okay. Do you have a lunch menu?" We ordered a pizza for me and my two small kids to share. Forty five minutes of waiting to get a slightly burned cheese pizza which was missing about 40% of the cheese. I am so fed up with the customer service here. There are generally 5 people behind the counter, most of them just standing around. The two female servers in the morning with blond dreads have the worst attitudes out of the bunch. If I didn't work right across the street I would never go there. I just stood in line for over 10 minutes. There was only one person in line ahead of me. When I finally got to the counter and mentioned how long I waited, blondie with the dreads just shrugged her shoulders. Ugh. It is a shame because their food is pretty good. This morning I walked to Ramone's before work giving myself 15 minutes before I had to be back. Needless to say I clocked in 10 minutes late! I work a block away. I ordered a scone and an eggnog latte. I stood and waited while everyone who ordered behind me was served their drinks before me. Let me just say I live in walking distance to this establishment and I would rather drive across town to Dutch Bros to experience better coffee than this place. I will give them credit on their pastries and grab to go breakfast croissants, but otherwise I do not like to go out of my way for this place. My friend ordered a smoothie from here and tasted moldy substance in her drink, but was in a rush to get to work, so could not complain. Overpriced, for low taste drinks. I have no opinions of their lunch or dinner items, but if you are advertising yourself as a coffee place, you should get it together and stand by your main item. read more

I went here over 5 years ago for my wedding cake. We were having an out of town wedding in the woods and had to pick it up ourselves and then we would have to put it together and what not which was fine. My to be mother-in-law checked the box to make sure everything was there before we left town and noticed that the dowels to hold the cake together weren't in the box with the cake. I called Ramones Bakery to ask about that and they said, "No everything should be there."(The manager took our order) I said, "Okay." We got there and it was time to put the cake together, and guess what there weren't any dowels to put in the cake to hold it together! Luckily my aunt who does cake decorating jimmy rigged something out of nothing to get the cake to stay together long enough to cut it, and take a picture and that's it. Moving on to the present day. Yesterday(09/25/13) I called them and ordered a cake for a birthday. They said to pick it up today which isn't the issue, the issue is they're always rude when I walk in they never help me, plus they LOST THE CAKE! This is the SECOND TIME this has happened! No sorry, no nothing from them they're just SO RUDE about it!!! They all act put out when they help you and act like their s*** doesn't stink, and they push you to the side as if you don't exist. While letting other people push there way in front of you so they can help them, UH NO! I was here first the other people behind me can wait! Did I mention they have two cash registers too. Just need to know the difference between vegetarian and non vegetarian! Obviously they don't have a clue that Chicken and Salami are animals? My company has been feeding me a chicken salad SW during conferences for months, as they were told it's a veggie SW. Also to verify I picked up a cold SW labelled veggie-cheese, without meat mentioned in the ingredients to find a hefty slice of salami. Business is thriving, who cares right? We live in the neighborhood and visit Ramone's regularly for a weekend breakfast or brunch. Although the service can be a bit ragged (as you come to expect after living for a while in Humboldt county, where professional service is a rare luxury), we've never been disappointed. Good breakfasts and sandwiches for a reasonable price, wine and beer (including Redwood Curtain IGA!), and a comfortable friendly setting where you can linger over a coffee with your paper or meet for a meal with friends. Plus it's one of the few places in Humboldt with outdoor seating for those sunny days. Every neighborhood needs a place like Ramone's! read more

Totally yummy coffee and tasty sandwiches. My MIL, who avoids garlic when she can, had this lovely tomato soup that was so fresh tasting, the staff must have just crafted it in the kitchen. I had a tasty tomato, basil, mozarella sandwich on a baguette. That was made with some of the best bread I have tasted in a long time. Fresh, with a nice give; and the mozarella was fresh.... yummmmm There was a hint of garlic in there, too, that was a nice kick. The hubster had a veggie sandwich on a nice, seeded loaf, and he enjoyed that. The FIL had a yummo sandwich too, but I was so busy channeling my inner Hoover that I don't know what he had. Love this place for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert! Very affordable prices for breakfast and lunch, especially for the quality of food you get. They have good coffee and really delicious pastries but my favorite food is the food off the menu that is made to order. Always fresh, quality ingredients and they come up with creative and yummy pizzas, sandwiches, and salads. Ramone's on Harris is one of my fiancé and my favorite date spots for dinner, as the decor is adorable and the food is always very very good plus there is a large selection of beer on tap and wine. I have nothing bad to say about Ramone's. I highly recommend it. read more

I like their baked goods, especially the chocolate torte with raspberry! Yum. I've eaten here a few times and the food was pretty good. But it does irritate me that I spend over $4 on an almond chai latte, and they won't stamp my card because their stamp card policy is for "Coffee only". A $2 cup of coffee counts, but not a $4+ tea. I used to stop here a couple days a week on the way to work but the stamp card thing pissed me off so now I'd rather go somewhere else. read more

On new years day I called to inquire if they were open for business. I got an answering machine saying that if I received the message during business hours , which it was, that they must be busy and I was offered to leave a message. Assuming that they must be open because if they weren't it would have been stated on their machine, my daughter and I drove across town to their store. We were dissapointed to find that they were in fact closed. I'm giving Ramones on Harrison only one star because I'm upset at having wasted not only my time but gas too. When it would have been easy enough for them to let their customers know they were closed for the holiday on their answering machine. read more
