    Holiday Snowballs!
    Ray F.

This little bakery delivered on the holiday sweet treats! Cherry Blossom has been around for a while and continues to produce nice bakery goods day after day. A recent stop in for some holiday cookies did not disappoint. Traditional sugar cookies, butter cookies, fruit gingersnaps and coconut snowballs were all to be had in the day of my visit, so I opted for a couple of each to try them all. The gingersnaps were a true flashback to my childhood rememberance and just exactly as I was expecting them to be in both taste and texture. My only regret, not getting more. The sugar cookies and butter cookies, in all of its many forms and styles, each full flavored and true old school holiday cookie styles. I tired several variations that were available that day and each was good. Then the snowballs... a traditional chocolate cake ball, wrapped in coconut cream frosting, these things are amazing! Better than store bought by a mile, rich chocolate cake surrounded by creamy shredded coconut frosty. So rich in fact, I clould not eat one in a single sitting. These are really great holiday treats! 3.5 Stars - rounded up for the hella delish Snowballs! 00769

    Pink champagne!!! YES!!!

Cherry Blossom is absolutely, hands down, my FAVORITE bakery of all time! Have been getting treats here for as long as I remember since childhood. All the negative comments saying it's "just a mom and pop" and "old-fashioned" is EXACTLY why I love Cherry Blossom! Why would one want to go to a corporate, cold bakery in the first place? Bakeries SHOULD be mom & pops!!! And I've always, without fail, have had excellent customer service. Perhaps the negative commenters should remember that you get back what you put out. I absolutely despise cakes from Ramone's and the Co-op; they may look pretty, but they're also bone dry and dense, more bread/muffin like than real cake, with ick "healthy" tasting frosting. When I want frosting, I want the creamy, sugary kind only!!! Every year for my birthday, I get one of their famous pink champagne cakes. My birthday was yesterday, and I admit the cake is almost gone- it's THAT good!!! The bakery, a Eureka legend, has been open since 1927 and it's the only place locally to find pink champagne. It's a proprietary, secret recipe too! Please, please Cherry Blossom, never go out of business!!! For those who say their cakes look old-fashion- go to Ramone's then for a fancier, yet dry and not as good cake. For me personally, I'll take some pretty & delicious classic buttercream roses!!!

Pink champagne cake with strawberry filling and whipped cream icing

Kent and Amy are amazing. Kent's handmade doughnuts are the best. We all have our favorites from the bear claws, twists, to their peanut butter filled doughnut. We always get our favorite pink champagne cake with whipped cream frosting and strawberry or raspberry filling. Amy always does an amazing job decorating. We go whenever we got sweet cravings and whenever we need a cake for a special occasion. Everything is always perfect and delicious. If your in the area I recommend trying them

The eclair . . . No butter, fake chocolate just a sugar bomb. Have to be verbose. I was concise in my review but Yelp wanted more blather.

It is way too sweet. Everything has no taste except for sugar. Cheap-tasting. Not quality ingredients.

The donuts looked great, and I like the reviews, but this time I came for the Chinese food.. The space is very clean, and the lady who runs the place was very, very friendly and helpful. All of the food looked good. They have both fried and non-fried options. I went for the two item combo, and instead of fried rice and chow mein, I had steamed rice. I ordered the non-spicy curry chicken, and the chicken with carrots and broccoli. Overall, the food was good. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and in both dishes, the veggies were perfectly al dente. The rice was also the perfect texture. On the curry chicken, I don't know if there was a misunderstanding on either of our end, because I did get a spicier chicken dish. it was well within what I'm comfortable with spicy, and the flavor was very good. It just wasn't what I was expecting. But hey, it happens. While food was very good, it was just a tiny bit oily. I could feel a tiny bit of the oil on my lips. Again, I do realize that that's how they cook the food in the wok. For a very large plate of food, I only paid 12 bucks. Extremely reasonable. I would definitely come back to try the donuts next time, and maybe some of the other dishes. Thank you.

It left a very waxy film in your mouth unlike donut mill which makes exceptional apple fritters. I assume they use some solid frying oil like shortening or something. But the real reason for leaving this review is as I came in. I asked for a round glazed cinnamon roll. It was 6.95. An apple fritter was 6.95. A dozen donut holes was 5.95 a glazed donut was 2.95. Are you absolutely out of your mind? The donuts are so mid tier and youre charging more for that filth than a local bakery does for their pastries. Absolutely out of your minds. We would always make fun of this place because the lady would be so obnoxious and always be like and then and then and then what else what else you want what else you want and then what else you want. Like nothing I want one donut that's it. Thank god she wasnt there this morning and it was some other gentlemen. I gladly told him I didn't know donuts were so expensive and I walked out. Lovely wall art that appears to be from local artist. I really want to give it 5 stars - the only downside was - and I have to be honest - there was a homeless man who came into the cafe and started yelling repeatedly at the clerk and other patrons. This is NOT the fault of the owners but when I'm in side of a restaurant or cafe and eating I think it's reasonable to want to feel safe. Let me tell you all a story about the most perfect cup of coffee I've ever had…read more It was fall 2002 if my memory serves me. My band was on tour on the East Coast. We had just played the previous night in Atlantic City making our way back to Worcester Massachusetts. It was an overcast morning traveling on the New Jersey Turnpike. Now, what most people living on the West Coast dont know is that all over New England are toll roads. And being that every time you exit you have to pay a toll, they've set up these convenient highway oases (oasises?) that you can enter from either direction without paying to exit the road. These usually consist of a large gas station, one for each direction of traffic exiting and a bunch of fast food and mini-marts all under one roof. KInd of like if a truck stop and a shopping mall food court had a baby. Since it was morning we went for the Burger King but to our disappointment this wasnt an actual Burger King. It was a truck stop express BK with premade food under a lamp with no employees. Being that it was nearly 11:30am. There were only a couple stale breakfast sandwiches left. So we turned around and saw a Dunkin Donuts. Being from the San Francisco bay area, we'd never really experienced Dunkin Donuts or knew what it had to offer. I ordered a maple old fashioned donut and some kind of breakfast sandwich I think... and a coffee. The nice lady working there asked if I wanted cream and sugar. I said yes expecting to get a couple packets of sugar and maybe a powdered creamer packet, but to my surprise she just handed me a lidded to-go cup of coffee. I asked about the accoutrements and she just nodded and said "its in there" In my head I was like "WHAaaaaatt?!!!!!!!!!!!" How do they know how I like it? I'm very particular about my cream and sugar levels... she never asked me. I was VERY sceptical. Then... I took a sip. Temperature, perfect. Coffee flavor, perfect. Cream level, perfect. Sugar level, PERFECT. OH MY GOD. I couldn't believe it how did she do this? I made sure to tell the woman how perfect it was. I was very excited and probably freaked her out a little. People can be a little more surly in the Garden State. I will never forget that cup of coffee. I've had coffee from Dunkin Donuts since but it was never as serendipitous as the Turnpike Dunkins. A few years ago they started selling the coffee beans at the grocery store and everyone was hyping how good it was. It wasn't that good. Which leads me to the Ramones in Piersons Building Center. Here's two things that you also need to know. Pierson's provides free coffee to it's customers and employees. The other is that I am an employee of Piersons. Just to be clear, this isn't Ramones Cafe coffee they're giving away. It's whatever is good-enough-to-drink yet, give-away-free kind of coffee. This is what I usually drink because I'm a cheapskate and it gets me through the day. I've on occasion purchased a latte or two but in the nearly 3 years working there I've never purchased a regular coffee from Ramones. That is, until yesterday. It was medium roast. I added my own cream & sugar but damned if it didn't take me back to that foggy morning on the turnpike. Kudo's Ramones. I was in at lunchtime, so I decided to get an "everything bagel" with their sun-dried tomatoes spread. I asked for light spread, and that's what I got. The bagel was amazing! Very tender. I could smell the garlic on the bagel and taste it as well. It was excellent. The spread was both savory and rich, but not overly rich. I loved it. I also had a white mocha. It was a good quality, coffee, and the drink was rich and sweet, but not overly so. I was talking with my sister later, and she told me that their sandwiches and salads are also very good. I decided to come back for dinner. I had the salami, baguette, and one of their lemon squares for dinner. The Salami Baguette had Salami, Jack Cheese, Spinach, Tomatoes, Dijon, and Pesto (Basil, Olive Oil, Garlic, Walnuts, Parmesan, and Salt) That sandwich was amazing! Baguette was soft and delicious, they were generous with the salami, and it had the right amount of cheese. The veggies give it a nice "pop" of freshness, the pesto was rich, but not overly so, and the Dijon and just a tiny bit of a "zip" to it. All of the ingredients played together very well. The lemon square, the crust was flaky, the lemon was creamy, but not overly sweet, and it had just the right amount of powdered sugar on the top. Everything I had there today was fantastic. The prices were reasonable. I will definitely be back to try more items. My only regret is waiting so long before I finally came in. Thanks!

It turns out she was going back-and-forth between being the cashier, and taking orders. If they had a box, it wasn't working. I decided to go with the pulled pork sandwich on a baguette, I chose all of the veggies, with no cheese or avocado, which was extra price. I requested the barbecue sauce, which was the non-spicy version. The sandwich was excellent. The baguette was a very high-quality roll, the pulled pork was savory, and all of the veggies were nice and crisp. The barbecue sauce tasted like it was a vinegar based, and it had a great "Tang" to it. It provided a nice pop of acid to offset the richness of the pulled pork. I could only finish half of my sandwich, and I had the other half for dinner. The sandwich came out to $14 and change after tax, , which was reasonable for such a good sandwich. The reason I'm taking off a star, is because of the wait time. The wait time from when I pulled up till when I pulled out with my sandwich was roughly 15 minutes. That's quite a wait for a sandwich. You can order ahead online, but you still have to wait in the line to pick up your food. They do delivery, but they only do one delivery run a day at 11 AM, and so you have to get your order in on time. They shouldn't have the person running back-and-forth between being cashier, and taking orders as well. Maybe have another person taking orders. Hopefully the next time I come back, the wait won't be so long. I wish these guys would get a "brick-and-mortar." They would do very well. Thank you!
