I was frantic, our keys were locked in our trailer & we were at a rural campground. Spares were 2 hours away. I called Ramona locksmith, they were closing in less than an hour. I could get in some real trouble here. I have a slight shopping problem and a lock smith store is no exception. on this particular visit I needed to get a new car key cut and switch the chip from my old key to the new one. every place I called told me it could not be done and that I needed. to order a new key and get it programmed, which can cost a pretty penny. We had the inside components of a door handle/lock break. Called and spoke with PJ who asked if we could send pics. Upon viewing said he could fix. Had us bring in the handle and parts and it was fixed in about 20 minutes for a reasonable $30. We thought we were going to have to replace the 30 year old set. Highly recommend. read more

This business has changed ownership. That's important because the previous owner was overpriced. The new owner has reasonable prices and seems concerned with being a part of the community (he answers the phone any time... Good to know in case you're locked out!). We had him re do the locks on our house, he was prompt and quick. Edit: added July 11, 2017: a friend lost a car key. Upon searching for the business it turns out they have moved, about 100 feet away, across the alley, behind the Mobil station. There's limited parking, and they're not readily visible. But staff was helpful. It's expensive to re key a car... Think: $75. It took over an hour. read more

I had gone down the hill to the Sprinter Dealer for a key for my van. The dealer did not know what they were doing, I made 2 trips to Kearney Mesa, paid for a key and it did not work. The dealer could not program the new key to the main computer, (ECM). Ramona Locksmith in half hr. max, made a key, cloned it and it worked. Honestly I've used them 2 times out of maybe the 10 that I needed them. They're never open during business hours. Both of their vans are there so they're not out on calls. They just open when they feel like it. I hate going down the hill because a Ramona business can't be open when it's supposed to be open! I left a message, and they didn't return my call. I needed a key for a set of file cabinets that I had bought that did not have a key. I called one of those other locksmiths that advertise like they are from Ramona but really are not. They came out and immediately said that they could not do the job. So I realized my mistake and called Ramona Locksmith. He was able to look up the key and I was able to pick it up in the next 10 minutes so that I could avoid a trip charge. It turns out that there are a few options for keys to cut and he cut the wrong one. When I told him that the key didn't work, he made the key on both other types and dropped them off to me without charging me any extra. I was very satisfied with his service. read more
