I spent several hours trying to install a new deadbolt & doorknob with lock. It should have been easy- or so I thought! I was close, but could quite finish the job.. I turned to Yelp for a local recommendation and signed up for projects, where I immediately received 6-7 responses from local locksmiths. Most asked me to send photos- which I did, but one, after seeing the photos, offered to walk me through the installation at no charge- I was done with the DIY, so I asked when he could come, and he arrived in 15 mins with no extra 'weekend fee'. Fast, efficient, and very reasonable! My little project looks professionally finished, works great!! I only wish I would have called Snir before I wasted my afternoon ! Save his number! Call him for home, auto & garage repairs & projects! read more

I locked my keys in my car on a Sunday evening and called SG Locksmith to unlock the car. They came in about 30 minutes, which wasn't bad and unlocked the car in a few minutes. They didn't cause any damage to the car either, which was great. Now you may be wondering why I rated them two stars. The answer is the price. They only told me what it would cost once they got there, which was $288! My family was shocked when I told them it cost that much. They said 70-80% would be covered by insurance. However, even if you have great auto insurance, it is usually extra to include tow and lockout services in your insurance plan, which most people don't. The result is that $0 is covered and you're stuck with a massive bill. Moral is to just get a AAA membership, which would have been less than half of the price of this one lockout charge. Shame on SG Locksmith for the misleading information, lack of price transparency, and predatory prices. I will never be using them again. read more

They say a picture speaks a thousand words... Hands down one of the worst and weirdest experiences I've ever had with this locksmith. Do not use. Ever. Long version: I had an emergency repair locksmith because someone broken into a padlock that I left for another technician. They came out fast. That was the only positive part of the experience... After that, he went on the install the lock twice; the door would NOT shut and tried to pass it off as working. He then forced the bolt in so that it would shut the door. The alignment is way off, it looks horrible. Then he charged me $680 for the emergency repair. I had to pay since it was an emergency. I mentioned that I'd be posting this review. They seemed to not care. TL;DR - don't usr this locksmith, they cut corners, and while fast, they do a horrible job. See the pictures... read more

SG Locksmith - Big difference from stock key - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - San Diego, California

Update: The last review Snir states that he did not do the work despite them having called my boyfriend to ask why we had left a one star review. What's astonishing is that they have no specific address or phone number attached to their business which is what scam businesses do to not leave footprints. I had to retrace the process of hiring them to add evidence it's them. I have now taken this to the Better Business Bureau - DO NOT TRUST THEM. I have Ring app proof that their car, labeled SG LOCKSMITH, came to work on my car including the phone call transcript I'll be requesting. read more

When I realized that I left my keys inside my home, I requested a quote from local Yelp locksmiths (from my Lyft ride on my way home from a concert across the bay) via Yelp Projects Updates! On a Sunday night after hours, I got quotes for $135-$145...but Snir Giladi from SG LOCKSMITH responded promptly with a quote at half the price for only $69?!! And he was only 10 minutes away!! I was dropped off by Donte, my Lyft driver and shortly after Snir arrived :)) Only the front door lock needed picking as the screen door and deadbolt were not locked...with a pick and a drill, he unlocked my door within 5 minutes and showed me w/my actual key that the lock was not damaged or compromised in any way! The last time I locked myself out pre-Covid was when my keys fell out in an Uber ride...it cost $200 to have my front door lock/knob drilled off on a midnight call! SG Locksmith was a godsend and totally exceeded my expectations! Snir's working hours are 6:30am to midnight, so my call @7:20pm wasn't considered after hours...WOW!!! He also conveniently accepts Venmo payment ;) I highly recommend this outstanding locksmith and would call him again in a heartbeat! A million thanks again, Snir!!! read more

We found Ben on Yelp. He gave us a lower quote ($65) compared to similar services so we chose him. He was flexible with his time so we scheduled at our convenience -- next-day after work. He showed up early, was calm and friendly, and very professional. I, on the other hand, was a little late, anxious and tired. He assured me that he did not have to drill or destroy the door/lock which what I was concerned about. It was actually fascinating to watch him work with his tools. He was able to unlock the front door within minutes! In addition, I can tell that he does this for a living because he sincerely wants to help people. He turned a stressful situation into an otherwise pleasant experience. Of course I hope I won't find myself under these circumstances again. But if I do, I know who to trust. Thanks, Ben! read more

Ben was very professional from the very begining. I wasn't sure which of my 2 locks doesn't work and if we will need to drill it and replace to get into the condo or not. When a requested quotes at Yelp I got a whole variety of pricing form $50 to $210 without any explanation what is it for exactly. Ben as the only one asked if we can talk on phone to get more information. He explained me over phone what are the options and offered really fair and good price ($65) for his service.
