I heavily depend on Yelp reviews when I select and visit a restaurant or hire anyone for a service. I contacted The Flying Locksmiths givern their ratings to help me with a condo mailbox lock that was, I thought, broken. They scheduled me for today and to my surprise, the tech was late about 30 minutes. David, the tech, was red and sweating profusely. I could tell he had just come from a job and was busting his behind. He apologized several times which I accepted and was very helpful. He found a solution to the problem that did not require replacing the lock which saved me a few bucks. Honesty is hard to find... unfortunately, so I truly appreciated it. He double checked the lock worked and was just a nice guy with well developed customer service skills. Definitely a company I recommend and if you can, request David as your tech, you won't regret it. read more

I used a quote from them in a small claims case as a reference for how much a rekey would cost. They voluntarily gave out information about me and the job to people without my permission. I would not trust this company and would not recommend them. This is dangerous and unethical behavior. read more

These guys get a solid 5 stars for two reasons: 1. When they put you on hold you get to listen to Guns & Roses. 2. Their work is great!! We had three doors that needed fixing. Two were easy, one required ordering a part and a second service call. They explained everything they were doing and made sure how we could avoid similar problems in the future. Side note: they're also great with kids. Our little boy loves helping, especially when tools are involved. They were really sweet with him watching them, asking questions, and even helping when he could. It made his day both times they came out! Did not have a good experience. Got a glass door lock fixed. It was very expensive to get fixed and it broke within 6 months. Called to see if they would come back and fix it so that it worked seeing as we paid for the repairs and we got the run around with a return labor/check-up fee, sending back parts, etc. Really disappointed. read more

I went to their web site, and stated a chat with a mysterious on-line lady named Erika. I explained my problem to her. She asked me to email a photo of the lock that needed fixing. Had the locks changed on my front door and security screen this week. I made the appointment through live chat on the Flying Locksmiths website which was quite simple and also gave me the opportunity to ask questions prior to confirming. I was given a four hour window for the appointment. "Mark the locksmith" actually called 45 minutes prior to the appointment time saying he had finished his last call ahead of schedule and could he come early. Mark was great. He had no problems with the lock changes and was finished quickly. I would gladly recommend the Flying Locksmiths if you're in need. We had a new entry way / front door installed. With the new door, we wanted new hardware. I checked out a couple of local companies but settled on The Flying Locksmiths. They gave excellent advice instore when I went to look for the door handle and deadbolt. I wanted a keypad deadbolt so we wouldn't need to use a key. They talked me out of a more expensive Bluetooth enabled deadbolt because of security concerns. In short, the more convenient you make the lock, the less secure it becomes because there are additional vectors that can be used to defeat the lock. I scheduled a service call to have the factory strike plates from the door manufacturer replaced with the strike plates that came with the door hardware. The tech came on time, then talked me out of doing the replacement. He fully explained why; it would look ugly based on what was cut out for the factory strike plates and the factory plate provides just as much security as the hardware plates. I would have been more than happy to pay the service call charge for the education I received, but he wouldn't take it because there was nothing he would do on the call. There are still reputable companies out there that are truly customer focused. Highly recommended. read more

We hired the Flying Locksmiths to replace all interior and exterior locks in our new house. Whereas half a dozen keys were previously needed to unlock all doors, Sean reduced that number to two, exactly as we requested. He also managed to unstick two lock mechanisms that didn't work at all, and swapped/replaced door handles to make them look uniform.
