Ordered the Beef Curry plate. Japanese gravy/stew always has perfect consistency, not too thin, not too thick but juuust right! Beef is always tender, practically falls apart. Service was good, they filled our takeout containers for us. No real ambience, just tables in a small dining room. Very good for what it is. Repeat customers! read more

Ordered the black garlic ramen with added menma, chili oil and paste on the side. The broth was thin and had a strange off putting flavor. The chasu I spit out on the second bite because it smelled off and tasted worse. The chili paste added a vinegar flavor to the broth which was just weird. The egg was so over cooked and completely cold in the middle. It was also not seasoned at all. Noodles were very over cooked. Long story short, I am not sure what the ramen scene is like in Hawaii but compared to the states this ranks dead last for me. If you know good ramen, sit this one out. read more

Efficient. Friendly. Great value. Nice spot to hit after a movie or a long day of shopping. For $12.95 you get a Mini Ramen, Gyoza & your choice of entree (I got the Chicken Katsu Curry) - easily one of the best deals in town! Their gyoza is light and tasty, katsu curry does the trick & with some chili oil, their ramen is solid. Service is always kind & quick, anticipating every need. read more

Ramen Ya - Combo A with Curry Chicken (curry on the side) - Ramen Near Me - Kahului, Hawaii

SO. YUMMY. ramen ya never lets my mans and i down. we've been longtime supporters and fans of this restaurant. we haven't been disappointed. the only reason they get a 4/5 is because we had waited 45 minutes when they had told us it would be a 20 minute wait. that's the only con of this review. onto the pros! i always order the combo A (mini ramen, 6 piece gyoza and your choice of a side; i get mini fried rice). my man usually gets the same combo, except with chicken katsu curry. we also get a fried rice that we end up taking home to eat with our leftovers. howeverrrrr, as of july 2021, they have a NEW ramen. it's called the black garlic ramen. it is SO unbelievably tasty. it is more on the saltier side, but that's a given since it is a black garlic ramen. it's more of an umami-salty. it's my new go-to order! my mouth is salivating just thinking about it. we always leave ramen ya full of hearty food and happy souls. mahalo to everyone for keeping this local business alive! read more

Ramen Ya is one of our go to spots!! Best combos, delicious taste and quick service I usually always get combo A..ramen with fried rice. But kinda wanted to switch it up a little bit this time so I got combo B..wonton soup with fried rice. The wontons were soooo big. But not the meat part, the wonton part so it was like thick noodles!! And I like more broth with each bite so win win for me! And regular combo A for the boo..ramen with chicken katsu. . As we sat inside, I swear like 10 take out orders went through!! Their service is so fast..we were in & out with a full tummy! read more

i like the new renovation that they did. Looks nice. You walk in and you let the lady know how many people you have in your party and usually if they're busy they give you a number and you wait outside to be called. This place is usually always busy. They have tables and chairs and you also can sit at the bar area NO ALCOHOL tho... They have different ramen options for you to choose from. Place your order, it usually comes out really fast. The staff are friendly. The cooks are GOOD.. read more

Tonkatsu ramen. By far one of the better ramens spots I've been too. Pricing is great and food is delicious. Dining area is a little small so might be a wait to dine in. read more

Ordered take out. The beef curry had 4 pieces of meat & 3 pieces of veggies, under it was a huge pile of rice. So bad. My dad ended up eating curry rice. The mochiko chicken was also dry and gyoza had a weird after taste. I was pretty bummed because I used to really enjoy this place. Spent $50 for low quality food. read more

Wow, I am truly surprised how good it turned out to be and especially with the price. We came here to the mall to kill some time before our flight. There was a long wait but we really wanted to try it as we felt a lot of local went there. It was well worth the wait m. There were a lot of choices but we went with the combo deal. Which you get ramen, rice, and gyoza. The ramen was just the classic ramen which I loved, the noodles were "eggy" but I like that taste which was fine. I loved the curry and fried rice also. The portion they give you is small for the set which is perfect as that way you don't get full on only one thing. The fried rice was surprisingly flavorful which I was but expecting, I was expecting Panda Express quality fried rice. We also got the fried chicken as a starter. You don't get any sauce so I recommend asking them for gyoza sauce to dip it in which was delicious. The chicken was fresh juicy and crispy If I ever come back to Maui I will be back! read more

Was disappointed with this place. I love Ramen and for a place that is called Ramen Ya, I was expecting their ramen to be pretty good. I got their Tan Tan Ramen and while the flavor was ok, it fell far short of other places I've been to. The bf got noodle soup with chicken katsu on the side. The katsu was pretty good, the noodles and soup were just basic. As he was halfway through his dish and about to take a bite of the noodles, he noticed something hard and white sticking out of the food. Turns out it was one of those white plastic ties that you use to tie up your bread to keep it fresh. We pointed this out immediately to one of the waitresses and she apologized for it. While they did take $2 off his meal as an apology, I really think they should have just comped the whole thing, as that was an unpleasant experience. They also don't have any liquor on site, which was a disappointment. I could have gone for some beer to wash down the food. I guess for mall food you can't expect too much but I wouldn't recommend going here with the other options you have available in the area read more

Ok so aside from the rise in price (which is inevitable), I'm much happier with this place. They renovated a while back and it's so much nicer. I feel like they have a much better flow in the way they operate which is great for them they can pump people in and out as well as the food. For every table they have full in the restaurant, they have an equal amount of people coming in and out to pick up their take out. So kudos to them. Not sure about those of you who frequent this place, but I'm like 99% sure their portions grew! So more bang for your buck which is a total plus! I always get the combo because it's the best of both worlds, but I always have to sample whatever everyone else is having too if it's something different. Definitely recommend this place! Just know that if you go during a "busy" time, you may wait a while and may need to consider take out if you're hungry! read more

If Covid was to be spreaded here, it wouldn't surprise me. The server touches money, clears the tables and brings waters to the table while touching the rim of the glass where I'd put my lips. Our server was rude but the food was decent especially for the price. I had option A which came w Ramen, Gyoza, and chicken katsu curry w rice for under $13.00. read more

Great stop! This eatery is right in the mall. The food was excellent as well. We had 6 people and we all tried a different bowl. Everything here was great. The pot stickers are super fresh and perfect. Be careful when adding soy sauce from the table. They have multiple sauces in soy sauce jars. They are labeled, but easily mixed up. The service was fast and the ambiance was what would be expected from a restaurant in a mall. read more

Ordered the usual jumbo gyoza and my son ordered his usual chicken katsu ramen. I ordered their new black garlic ramen. I love garlic and this was so good. I would order it again. I've been coming here every few months or so ever since they first opened up. Love it! Tasty food, fast and friendly service, nice and cold AC inside, and interior decor is nice. Generous portions. I always leave extra full and/or with enough leftovers for another meal or two to enjoy later on. Satisfies the hunger! Our meals came out very quick. When one order was wrong, they were quick to replace it too. Checked on us regularly and refilled our drinks just the perfect amount with what we needed. When it's busy, it can feel a little noisy inside but nothing too terrible. Overall, it's a friendly vibe. They're really good when ordering take out too. They'll pack your food really good using additional boxes or masking tape to make sure your meal containers all stay in one place (NO SPILL). Will be back soon! read more

Ramen Ya - Finally trying this gem - Ramen Near Me - Kahului, Hawaii

Right around the corner from Koho's at Queen Ka'ahumanu center, you will find Maui's Ramen Ya. I probably eat or order take out from Ramen Ya every few months and I really like it. I usually order the Spicy Seafood Ramen or one of the combos with the mochiko chicken. My sweety likes their seafood crispy noodle and their Big Bowl Ramen and the little one likes their chicken katsu curry and their mochiko chicken. Their portions are very generous which is nice. The only thing I don't like about this place is that service isn't always the greatest especially when they are super busy. Sometimes the wait is very long but it usually is worth the wait. Other than that, food is always great if you dine in or take out and usually there's leftovers to go. Check it out. read more

So many restaurants in Maui closed due to COVID, but we were pleased to see Ramen Ya was still open! Located within the shopping mall next to the Macy's is their small storefront. We have been to their locations in Oahu and been pleased with the food and service, this location was just as good, but only on a smaller scale. We did have a short 20 minute wait since there are only a handful of tables. The menu appeared to be the same and fast service also. Friendly staff attended to our requests. We ordered several dishes between the four of us and one had the udon noodle. The noodles were soft and good flavor and broth was good also. Fried rice was cooked to a soft consistency and chicken fried noodles were warm and not crunchy. Fried chicken was not hard and very juicy. My soda was filled upon request and returned fast. Prices are good for HI. We will return! read more

Ramen Ya is always my go-to spot for ramen. Whenever I go, I like to get one of the combos- you get a big bang for your buck with those. For about $13 you can choose either ramen, gyoza teishoku or wonton soup along with one side dish- I always get fried rice, it's super yummy and 4 pieces of gyoza. Their tofu is also super good, some of the best I've ever had. It literally melts in your mouth and has a beautiful silky texture. I wish they had a bigger spot or even another location because it is almost always packed inside especially when the weather isn't so good. But they make it work and the wait is always well worth it. read more

Expected so much more, but was very disappointed. We were really hungry after a day at the aquarium. Noodles were ok, but the ramen broth did taste right. I had the big bowl ramen and wife had the tonkatsu ramen. Both were not good. Pork was tough like beef. Would not return. read more

A VERY tasty ramen spot at the mall. The tonkotsu ramen was so tasty, I drank some of the soup - and I normally NEVER drink ramen soups. The gyoza were really yummy and cooked to be a bit crispy on the outside - they tasted like they could be homemade. Really yummy. read more

Great food and service. Took my two older kids and they both agreed it was great. Oldest only complaint is the food could have been spicer. Would recommend to travelers. read more

Definitely our go to if my family can't agree on where to eat. The Ramen never disappoints. The combos are where it's at. You can choose a mini Ramen and a mini plate lunch which comes with gyoza. Seafood Crispy Noodles or veggies, they are very accommodating and willing to please their customers. We enjoyed their ramen soup with seaweed and bamboo shoots. We don't eat pot so they were willing to substitute by adding more seaweed. Also loved the chicken karag....so fresh and delicious. We ordered two big bowl Ramens and 1 small for the kids. It unfortunately did not taste very good. Chicken Katsu tasted a little funky like the meat was past it's prime, as well as the breading having a strong taste of rancid cooking oil. The soup base was bland and slightly bitter, and the noodles were a bit caked together. However I did enjoy the chashu pork so at least I was able to eat something and get full. Sadly I can't recommend this spot though. read more

Really wish they would upgrade and move to a bigger space. It's so small in there I feel like every table is pretty much eating with each other. The food is good, always cooked very well and it's consistent! Nothing changes it always taste the same which I absolutely love! The workers there, pretty decent. The two Asian ladies I think maybe Japanese or Chinese? Those two are really nice! The one skinnier Filipino lady, she's nice, BUT there is this other lady! She's a little on the heavier side and has grey hair, she is rude! And not only that but she stares! It sometimes even makes me uncomfortable to eat there!! At least the food is always good! read more

Always lots of good food, great value ! Can see why it's always very busy! Best to call in order, or go in early!

I got the paitan! Worst ramen! I asked without egg and it came with egg. When I asked what was the difference between paitan and shyo she couldn't really tell me, she just told me that paitan is with a paste added to normal broth! The broth, which is the most important part in ramen was not good, it seemed made with old meat, the pork meat in the ramen was disgusting, tasted like very old meat! I ate only the noodle, which were good and spring onion, left all the rest. My husband ordered the combo and none of his dishes were good, he barely touch the ramen, he said they tasted super weird! I don't understand why this place is so popular! read more

Ramen Ya is one of my favorite go-to restaurants for a cheap dinner date with my daughter. When she was younger, we would share one if their very affordable combos. For about $12 and some change, we get to choose between a bowl of ramen or won ton soup to start. Then we have a choice of either (mini sizes) beef curry, chicken katsu curry, spam katsu curry, mochiko chicken or fried rice. It also comes with a few pieces of gyoza! That is such a great deal! I also really enjoy their Tan Tan Ramen. Tip: you can ask for Tan Tan broth for your combo A ramen! To be honest, I've never had Tan Tan before I tried it at Ramen Ya so I can't compare it to anywhere else's but I absolutely love it! The broth is heavenly! Pork is succulent and portions are generous. Food comes quick and the staff is very friendly, but they are always busy so be prepared to flag them down if you really need something. They try their best though! And yes, be prepared to wait to be seated because they do get busy and it's a cozy little dining area. At least there are benches outside to wait on! It's really not that bad! read more

We were hungry. It's been super windy here in maui. It's not normal. We wanted something warm. They served perfectly warm and salty ramen. We got the kids ramen, ramen set A (kids sized ramen, gyoza and spam katsu with curry over rice) and tonkatsu. It was perfect portion for us with a little rice left over. Other tables got the fried rice which looked good. read more

This is a super family friendly place for ramen and katsu and fried noodles. Definitely will return. The pork fried noodles were scrumptious. I had chicken katsu curry- katsu was dry for my taste but the curry made up for it. The kids devoured the ramen and the gyoza. Their 2-5 special of having free gyoza with every meal is an unreal bargain. Plus they give free refills on drinks. Get the cold green tea- totally a great jet lag killer! read more

This place is the bomb. No Matter how busy or slow. They always get you seated quickly and the service is always great. The food quality and portions are always great. I am a big boy and can eat and I usually take some of my food home. The ramen here is awesome and so is the udon noodles. If your in the mood for some good Japanese comfort food at a very affordable price. This is the spot. What's nice is if your not in the mood for noodles they also have a good variety of rice dishes. One of my favorite food from there is the mochiko chicken with fried rice, or the fried seafood udon. I can say I have tried everything on there menu at least once before and have never been disappointed. read more
