My daughter was craving udon noodles so she got the chicken katsu and upgraded to udon noodles. The lady serving us was nice and accommodating. The guy constantly checked up on us. I definitely liked that. It wasn't super busy here. I plan on returning here if we are in Ewa Beach. Highly recommend if you want ramen, noodles or fried rice. I ordered from Ramen Ya for my birthday. We order a whole set of ramen combos, curry plate and an unagi combo. I love how they asked to separate the curry on the curry plate. Chicken katsu plate was huge. Ratio of chicken to rice was 2 to 1, which is awesome! Because it was a carry out, they did an awesome job on separating the noodles and soup. The curry was delicious. It had bits of pieces of carrots, onions, and meat I believe. Putting it over crispy chicken katsu and mochiko chicken. The combos were mini plates , bowl of noodles and 4 pieces of pan fried gyoza. Gyoza filling was okay. Unagi set was good with miso soup as well as gyoza. Miso soup was still warm with lots of seaweed and pieces of tofu. My miso looked like it came from whats left of the soup pot because the pieces were tiny tofu bits. My unagi was not firm but very very slimy. Im use to firmness but I don't remember it being slimy. It was ehh okay but I ain't ordering it again. Overall everyone was happy. Awesome service when picking up. COVID protocols were being followed as I can see when walking into the shop. Decided to come back after a neighbor who comes here a lot highly recommended the Chicken Katsu Curry that seems to be very popular. I stayed away for years after they first opened due a Yellow Placard. Seems like they have everything worked out now with the food storage temperatures. I'm not really a big fan of Chicken Katsu Curry but I'll try anything (within reason) when I'm hungry. I ordered takeout and used a discount coupon(from Midweek) that my neighbor gave me. Service was pretty good. They greeted me when I came in and told me they would be with me in a moment when I got to the counter. My order wasn't quite ready, had to wait couple of minutes and then the server walked over to hand my order to me while I was seated waiting. I choose the option of putting the gravy on the side that came in a separate container so everything wouldn't get soggy when I got home. It tasted ok and if you like Chicken Katsu Curry, you'll probably like it. The Chicken Katsu portion was huge and I couldn't finish it (ate about 85% of it). I feel like this establishment is hit or miss. Let me explain further. Parking can be plentiful depending on day and time (Foodland shopping center). We were greeted right away upon entering. The host/server was very nice and quick. This was the hit. I ordered egg soup (I am a sucker for egg drop soup) and shrimp tempura while my friend ordered gyoza and some Ramen I forgot. Wow. Not a good wow. I wanted to pour water into my soup because it was incredibly salty. I did my best to just pick out the chunks of egg but damn, was it salty. My friend's Ramen was salty as well, especially the pork. Her gyoza was fine and so was the tempura. I love to cook with spices but will never add salt or pepper afterwards. But this? This was way too much. I am hoping that it was this one time. So this was a big miss for me. Maybe I'll try it again sometime to compare, but it's not looking likely. I hate salty food. So I was picking my girlfriend up from the airport and she was craving noodles, She wanted soup. I'm not a big fan of Bland soups, so I wasn't thrilled but after hearing she spent the night in the airport I was happy to bring her anywhere she so desired. At The Ramen we also ordered fried noodles and a couple side dishes. The food was plentiful. The soups were delicious, I didn't have to add a thing to it. And the seafood fried noodles was scrumptious. Our food came out quickly. Our server was helpful, she lacked personality but hey, we all have those days something . After my visit here, I noticed that the restaurant was chain they have them all over the island. I have since visited two other locations. Ramen Ya had their opening June 5, 2016. I have eaten at other locations and anticipated the opening in this location. The competition has gotten stiff with Shiro"s and Daiichi in the area for some time and have established their ground footing. As I entered i was approached and warmly greeted. The setting and ambiance reminds me too much of Daiichi just down the street. What makes this better is the larger room. In fact it's larger than many of its' other locations. This is nice because it doesn't feel cramp. You can actually breathe and stretch out without worrying about close neighbors. I am here taking a little break and don't want to spoil my dinner appetite but need something to hold me over. Gyoza. $4.50 These are good. Comes as a 6 pack. Taste like they were fresh made. Not too oily. Pork is cooked correctly but the veges are still crunchy combining for great taste. You can get this as a side dish of 4 for $2.75 with your regular meal. It seems I am not the only one waiting for this opening as the customers are coming in based on the established reputation developed at other locations. It is a good start. Customer service was good. I was checked up on enough times to be satisfied and I didn't really order much. As I paid I was asked how I knew about this location. I was told there will be coupons mailed out to residents in the area giving them close to 20% off entire meal. I was given a coupon on the spot. Nice. The parking is not so bad but can be difficult during peek times. With the opening of Ramen Ya and Applesbee opening shortly, this parking might become a battlefield in this Ewa Beach shopping center. I know i will be back. read more

Wow, I barely give low rate stars to any restaurants I've visited. But truly this one was a big disappointment. Ramen Ya, is located in many area's of Oahu & this new location is close to home. However, I'm not a big fan of Ramen Ya - my boyfriend & I decided to give it another go. It is located right next door to Genki Sushi & Subway - where Starbucks use to be. As we walked in, it was fairly empty & the waitress ask for two? We said yes, no greeting no thing. The vibe of the place already wasn't a happy one. We were ready to order within 5 minutes & no one came to check on us. We had to wave her down, not just us. But another table had to go up front & tell someone they were ready as well. WATER: The water has ALWAYS been a problem. In the Pearl city location, their water tastes like sink water. Like you can really taste that it's not fresh. I walked to the bathroom & Glympse how they refill their pitcher. It was the same water, they USE FOR THEIR DISHES. I was so disgusted. That I told my whole table to get a soft drink. Anyways - in this new location in Ewa Beach, since it new I thought they would use a better way to serve water. But nope, same thing: it taste nasty. So I highly suggest you get a soft drink. Trust me it's worth the money LOL. FOOD: My boyfriend order Miso Ramen - he was craving for "ramen" but when he got his order - He mixed his bowl and at least 85% of the food was BEAN SPROUTS. (I have a photo of his last bites in the photo album) & No he didn't finish even half his soup. He was really disappointed to know that we came here because we wanted RAMEN. I don't understand why someone would do that?! It doesn't make up for the noddles.. Idk if their trying to be on a budget or what? Ramen-Ya, which opened in the Ewa Town Center the first week of June, is located in the same center as Foodland and CVS Store. The space is alittle more spacious than their Pearl City and Kapolei location. The seating area is with minimal décor that feels warm and friendly. The kitchen, which you can see through a glass from the dining room, serves various Sapporo or Chuka ramen or udon soups along with side dishes of chicken Katsu, curry, fried rice to name a few. The noodles (ramen or udon) is served in a broth that simmers for twelve hours. If you dine between the hours of 2:00pm to 5:00pm, you'll be served free gyoza (4 pieces with your meal). The location is perfect considering that Ewa Beach is a growing community. One of the good things is that there is many choices to choose from now instead of driving outside of Ewa Beach. While others may share that there is Daiichi Ramen down the road, Ramen-Ya is more appealing to me because it's roomier and there is the convenience that I can walk to Foodland or CVS afterwards. Others may worry that having another eat will minimize business in the other eats in that center but I don't believe so. In fact, it will be hard to decide on where to eat because there are good restaurants in this center. Definitely check out Ramen-Ya if you're in this area. The staff is friendly, the food is full of flavor and its family-friendly. It's definitely a place that everyone can enjoy especially for the ramen. The portions it came with was more than I expected. But it was amazing. The food didn't take long to come out, which is a plus! Their menu is taped on to the wall, so it's very easy access for anyone. They don't leave their condiments out, so please be sure to ask for them if you need them. I definitely needed to take some home. Nothing is outstanding about the food in either way. I can say that I at least am glad the curry isn't overly sweet like some other establishments they offer similar food. In and out, no frills. To all diners beware that this restaurant discreetly hides that they add a service charge. Upon receipt of our bill we gave a credit card. When they returned the charge slip for signature there wasn't a itemized receipt attached. When I asked to see the itemized receipt that is when the girl said "oh we added a service charge." I almost tipped them double have I not asked to see the itemized receipt. I asked her where in the restaurant does it say that they add a service charge. She pointed a sign at the register.
