I'm glad I gave this spot a try. Extremely nice customer service, and they made the food fresh. Seemed pretty organized and clean. I like what I tried will definitely be returning and suggesting this spot to others.

Decent ramen in Menlo Park Mall. I would not recommend shrimp tempura there; it felt like fake shrimp, and the skim was too thick. But ramen itself was good. The service was good, no complaints. This place is in the food court of Menlow Park Mall; seating was plenty. I recommend this place for ramen.

For my daughter's birthday she decided to go to the Menlo Park Mall which is an hour away from our home. While she did her birthday shopping with her older sister, her father and I decided to get a bite to eat. It's a mall so our food selection expectations wasn't too big. We were browsing at the food options at the Dining Pavillion and Ramen Ya caught my eye. It's Monday so the mall itself wasn't busy and quiet plus it's st Patrick's day too. The Dining Pavillion had plenty of tables to sit . We looked at the menu the attendant was very attentive and welcoming . We ended up trying the shrimp tempura, pork bao buns, spicy tonkotsu ramen, spicy miso ramen and chicken shoyu ramen. The shrimp tempura was perfectly fried and crunchy, the pork buns were so juicy and great flavor. My ramen was the spicy tonkotsu omg and let me tell you...it did not let me down. It was soo good. They were generous with the add ins and didn't skimp. Before I even got half way of eating my Ramen my husband had devoured his spicy Miso ramen... I went back to thank them and let them know how delicious everything was. So yess Ramen Ya Ramens are part of the clean plate club; they were fabulous. So if you're in the Edison area in NJ definitely give it a go and pop on over to Ramen Ya !!

Accidentally ate the ramen so fast that I didn't get to take a pic! It was fresh and had great flavor. The Black Jack could've been spicier, but still tasty. It was a great quick bite. You can sit at one of the many mall food court tables or take it to go. If you opt for it to go, they do package it separately for easy assembly. The customer service was top tier, honestly. Super friendly and enthusiastic. :)

Stopped by the food court at the Menlo Park mall and I was happy I did. Nestled in the back left corner was this wonderful little place serving some of the best ramen I've had in a while. Their spicy Tonkatsu Ramen was absolutely amazing. The broth had amazing flavor and the noodles were perfect. My only critique would be to add a little more pork and a little less bean sprouts. I originally thought the been sprouts were the noodle since there were so many. Other than that, I can't wait to come back when they open the new restaurant in Edison.

RamenYa is great and despite being a mall food court location, the quality is not compromised. The veggie ramen is excellent and delicious. There's a promo right now for a ramen and rice ball/dragonball combo too. The food came out quick and hot and the cashier is friendly. The dragonball packaging is also so satisfying.

Food made to order (not sitting in tray) comes out hot and delicious. More expensive than other food court offerings and worth it.

Ramen Nagomi - Rock Shrimp Tempura Don

This is easily one of the best ramen spots I've ever tried. They offer a great variety of broths, ranging from clear to creamy and spicy. My personal favorite is the Spicy Miso Ramen; it's the perfect balance of richness and heat, accompanied by incredibly tender pieces of slow-braised pork belly. I also love that you can fully customize your bowl with different toppings to make it exactly to your taste. You also cannot skip their appetizers. This time we ordered the Rock Shrimp Tempura, which was fried to perfection without overcooking the shrimp, and the sauces were the perfect addition. You also need to try their Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, the Bao Buns, and my absolute favorite: the Ika Geso Karaage, which comes with the most delicious mayo dipping sauce. The cozy ambiance perfectly complements the food, and the service is always attentive. It's a BYOB spot, which is a nice touch, and they'll provide glasses upon request. Since they don't take reservations, make sure to add yourself to the Yelp waitlist so you don't have to wait too long to try this amazing food!

I've actually never been to this location but the staff was so nice and accommodating (we were running late for the ballet ) and made sure to get us in and out asap. Seating is limited so I'd recommend signing up for the waitlist online ahead of time I did try the vegan curry ramen which I've never had before and it was good although I'll stick with my usual next time. It did taste like maggi (ifykyk) but elevated which was comforting buttt I can just make that at home lol still hit the spot though!

The appetizer options are more wider here as they have pork buns and takoyaki! I love how for their sushi's they don't skimp out on the filling and sashimi and have the right balance with rice. The best part if you can't finish it, you do have to pay a penalty fee but they do also let you take it home.

We had a party of 6 and still had to wait about 25 minutes for a table as the place is pretty small. Right after we sat down we accidentally spilled a glass of water and it took so much effort to flag down a waiter to get some napkins. They didn't even help us clean it up, we could barely mop up what was on spilled on the table because they gave us very little napkins. Then when we asked for more napkins when the food came out the waitress counted it out and gave us exactly 6, one for each person. As for the food, a big disappointment. The tuna was not the bright pink color it normally is and instead had a dark red/purple hue to it, a little concerning. The yellowtail and squid were super chewy. The mackeral was very fishy, which I understand mackeral is on the fishy side for raw fish but I've had it in Japan where is was the exact opposite. Honestly, the only fresh tasting fish was the salmon. The food was slow to come out even though the wait staff was very attentive with grabbing our menu orders. Most likely will not be returning.

I've eaten at Ottoyee for months now, and each experience has been incredibly delicious. However, the only thing is that the wait time can run very long. Not for the food to arrive, but for placing the order. We tried to get the attention of the waiter on staff multiple times, but was either ignored or they were behind the screen attending to something else. The wait time was around 15-20 minutes, but this is likely attributed to the small staff. Otherwise though, they were incredibly kind and knowledgeable of the menu and we still had a delicious experience as usual.

I so wanted to love this place, and was so excited to try it when reading the menu. Otoro? Ramen?…read moreGyudon? It all sounded like the perfect restaurant, but I'm really hesitant to return. Upon entertaining on a weekend evening, there were a few tables with patrons but not too busy. The restaurant did seem a bit understaffed with only one person taking orders / bringing food out, making it difficult to flag down this one person to successfully take our order and ask for anything additional throughout the night. Gyudon: for the price, we were really surprised at how small of a portion this was. It was not only in a small bowl, but the meat was layered on top perfectly deceiving you to think that there was more than there actually was. The majority of this dish was rice, and with limited sauce at that. As displayed on the menu images it was to be served with a runny egg, but unfortunately we got a fully cooked one (disappointing, as we were looking for something to mix with the rice!) Sushi: We got a 3 rolls and they were just alright. They were pretty small in size, with less rice than I'm used to (which is something I do like - I would rather more fish than rice!) With us getting spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and spicy scallop - they all kind of tasted the same, so I wish the fish wasn't as heavily masked with spicy mayo. Ramen: I got the black garlic ramen, and it wasn't the best, but wasn't the worst. I've purchased fresh ramen packages in the supermarket before and it tasted just like that, so it made me disappointed knowing I could achieve the same at home. The soup itself was extremely rich and fatty, and the charsiu had no flavor whatsoever leaving much to be desired. The main reason I'm rating this so low is upon having my last bites of sushi, I could tell something was off. I don't recall which specifically I had but I made a statement that it was extremely fishy and off putting. Fast forward later that night, I was hunched over the toilet vomiting with stomach pain - and I can deduct that the sushi was the culprit. I might consider trying Ottoyee again due to the great deals they have listed on food delivery apps, but the sushi quality (quite literally) put a bad taste in my mouth.

We did not know what the tofu dish was and asked for some clarification but was just told it was fried tofu and that it was good. We didn't know what was really on it but we ordered it anyways. We didn't enjoy it but were happy we tried it. I thought my ramen was fine, not my favorite but no complaints. My friend didn't like her ramen so she asked for hot sauce, sriracha, and soy sauce to spice it up and the server was confused at first but was fine bringing it over once we clarified what we wanted. We also didn't love the karaage chicken. All in all, we enjoyed our visit there and appreciated trying something new. They give cute little cat shaped chopstick holders. We will not likely be back because it wasn't to our liking but think it is just personal taste not that the place was bad so we do recommend trying it for yourself. Like many people today, I'm mindful of what I spend dining out, so I expect good value for the price. Since I live in South Jersey, I brought the food home to eat later. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The ramen included four slices of chashu (pork belly), but three of those slices were entirely fat with no meat. I understand that pork belly naturally contains fat--that's part of what makes it flavorful--but receiving pieces that were essentially all fat made the dish unpleasant and felt like poor quality control. I called the restaurant to share my concern, but the response was underwhelming. I was simply told the manager would be informed. When I asked if there was anything further that could be done, I received no real resolution--just a basic explanation of what pork belly is. As someone who understands the product, that explanation missed the point. The issue wasn't what chashu is--it was the quality of what was served. Everything else about the meal was fine, which is why I'm giving two stars instead of one. However, customer service matters just as much as the food. A simple effort to address the issue or offer a solution would have made a big difference. As a former business owner, I've always believed customer satisfaction should be a top priority. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here, and for that reason, I won't be returning.
