Came here on Saturday night. It is a small space but good enough to put tables together. With winter nights I was craving some good ramen. We ordered ramen, squid, noodles, wings and some fried rice. The chicken wings were so crispy and fresh! The ramen was really good too, portion sizes are good. The noodles were really good too! Overall if you want some ramen and want to hit the craving this is a good spot. The pricing is also good! For sure would come back.
Maybe for Scottsdale it's good ramen but coming from San Diego it just didn't hit the mark. I got the spicy miso ramen and it was anything but spicy. I added practically half of the Sriracha bottle and it still wasn't enough. The broth tasted like a watery mess and lacked flavor. The noodles and egg were good but the broth needs a lot of work. The tonkotsu ramen was about the same but I'd say it was slightly better but still wouldn't recommend this place for ramen. Service was good. The service would be a 5 star but the food was less than good.
Visiting from San Diego, I researched to see which places have good ramen and this place came up high on the list. Sad to say I was very disappointed The ramen broth was very water down. The pork cashu is good and the egg was cooked right. Also there's a lack of variety for ramen flavors. I'm used to seeing a few pages of various ramen options that takes me 10 minutes to decide which ramen I would order.
Checked this place out on a Tuesday afternoon and it was pretty much empty. We ordered our food and got our order quickly. The ramen itself is a good portion but was just okay. The house fried rice only had 2 pieces of each protein and was a bit on the oily side. The place itself is very clean and didn't feel crammed.
Love ramen here so much! This place is pretty cozy, and there are plenty of parking spots close to the store. They have ramen, udon, boba, and yummy Japanese appetizers. I tried ramen here, forgot what it was- but it was so good. Egg was perfectly boiled, noodle was chewy, and the broth was so so so good. It would've been even more tastier if the broth was hot. Mine was like lukewarm, and I personally like hot broth. Will definitely coming back here again! :)
We stopped in on the way to the airport. We were the only ones in the place. They seem to do a lot of take out. I think that the food was good. Service was great. The Raman didn't seem very hot when it came out but the noodles were hot... broth needed more flavor and temperature needed to be warmer. Pot stickers were ok, burnt a bit. Water, ice cold and filtered! Very nice.
It was a chilly day so I wanted some hot ramen/soup to warm me up so I decided to stopped in because of the reviews & because this place was fairly close to my work. I'm not sure if it was just because I was the first customer but it was freezing inside the restaurant. I ordered the hot jasmine tea, fried chicken wings and the spicy miso ramen with pork. The tea was good, the chicken wings were piping hot, crispy, cooked to perfection and they were huge! Now onto the ramen. I was surprised that the broth was just warm, was hoping for it to be hotter in temperature. Due to the temperature, the noodles felt kind of chewy and the vegetables stayed raw. Might be good for some people but if I have vegetables in my soup, I'd like it to be somewhat blanched. As far as flavors goes, it was not spicy at all, it was just okay, nothing special. Pricing was fair but service was really slow. I had to ask the waitress for a to-go container for my leftover wings and then also ask for the check, even though there were only 2 other customers in the restaurant.
Ramen Time is located in a nondescript strip mall in Tempe near Scottsdale. The restaurant was neat and clean. The decor was simplistic. I ordered the Hand Rolled Scallion Pancake. (It was actually folded, not literally rolled.). The center was chewy, but the edges were a bit overdone for my preference. It tasted okay, but it didn't have any discernible scallion flavor. Ironic. It was accompanied by a dipping sauce, which had a "just right" amount of sweetness. I also ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen (without the black wood fungus). The noodles were plentiful, and the broth was okay. Pricing was on par with similar eateries, but be sure to read the notice regarding a "service charge" for credit transactions and a discount for cash. The service was fast, but lacked a smile. The shy, soft-spoken server never asked if everything was okay. Plus, I had to hand her the pancake plate (hint, hint), and the soup bowl was never cleared. Is clearing the table something customers need to request? To her credit she did say "thank you. Have a good one." as I left.
Ramen Time has become my comfort restaurant. I love ordering take-out from them and it always hits the spot. I have tried a bunch of things off of their menu and I have never left disappointed. My partner especially likes their spicy ramen and I would highly recommend ordering their gyoza and crab puff appetizers to snack on with their tasty noodles. I also never leave without a tasty thai tea, my favorite! So thankful to live just a short distance from here because whenever I'm craving ramen this is the first place that comes to mind. I highly recommend trying Ramen Time, once you've had it once you are going to want to keep coming back for more!
I am by no means a ramen aficionado, however, I have tried a few ramen restaurants throughout the Valley and I can say that this ramen is okay, average at best. Bf had the tonkotsu ramen. The broth tasted light, not at all the creamy, thick consistency one expects from tonkotsu broth. I had the spicy miso ramen. While not spicy imo, i would rate it jalapeno/sriracha level spicy. A little disappointing as I was hoping for spicy. Certainly doesn't compare to my favorite spicy ramen in a neighboring complex... Overall very average.
My boyfriend and I came here for our first time today from the Desert Botanical Garden (which is not too far away from here). I can't believe how good the food was and how much you get for what you order! The next time we're in Tempe or around Tempe this will definitely be worth coming back to again! Staff were very sweet and kind and the service was great. The inside is intimate, but super cute! They played songs from the movies made by Hayao Miyazaki.
Go for the food. It's worth it. This newly opened establishment (January 2019) still displays some of the decor of its predecessor. I'll let you decide what that is. As of January 20, 2019, the restaurant is still waiting for its liquor license. The food has wonderful flavor and you will not leave hungry. Lots of parking. The waitstaff were very attentive and so the whole experience here was very pleasant. At one point a rather irate street person (?) came in and started to cause a minor ruckus. The situation was dealt with quickly and with a minimum of fuss, even though the customer was loud and obnoxious. Try this ramen place out for some quality food at a very reasonable price. read more

Say kids! What time it is? That's right, it's... RAMEN TIME!!! *A hatch in the ceiling opens, releasing Styrofoam ramen-sized noodles, green paper scallions and naruto confetti. Cheering and squeals of delight commence* For today's review, let me tell you about this new restaurant which used to be a Peruvian restaurant called Mas. Mas decided "No mas" on the restaurant business here which allowed Ramen Time to open up! Ramen Time has both an outdoor patio and several tables for indoor seating. The menu offers tempura, katsu, udon, yakisoba, rice dishes, and RAMEN of course, in several different varieties! That's right kids, being different is A-OK and variety is the spice of life! For appetizers, the scallion pancake is perfectly browned and crispy. The popcorn chicken is plentiful, well seasoned, with light batter and tender dark meat. As for the ramen, the shoyu ramen comes in a large bowl with one piece of tender pork, half a soft boiled egg, bean sprouts (I omitted this in mine), several pieces of bamboo and chopped scallions. The broth is pleasant but lighter tasting than at competitor Tampopo. However, it's also not as salty so you could say this shoyu ramen is better for your health. ;p The noodles are al-dente and a generous portion. Service was excellent at refilling beverages and we got our check as soon as we were done. Both servers were fluent in both Mandarin and English. Also, you know this place is definitely Asian by the prices. Very cute touch that most of the ramen is $8.88 and the other prices end with .88. Are you feeling lucky? Ramen Time's ramen is probably a 2.5star overall, but this is a newly opened mom and pop little shop, so rounding up for now. Located in a small plaza with plenty of parking, Ramen Time was pretty empty when I stopped by on a weekend afternoon. Within half an hour though, there were four other tables seated, and the one-waitress staff was running around in a frenzy trying to take care of everyone. Service was fine and friendly, if a little slow because of the sudden influx of customers. Miso ramen: The first thing I noticed when sipping my first spoonful of soup was how cold the corn kernels were. They had obviously just been taken out of the refrigerator and placed into the bowl, and that temperature difference was rather jarring. The broth was light and not oily, although I debated whether I could really distinguish a miso flavor. The noodles were cooked al dente, there was half an egg that was decent, and the slice of pork was pretty good (I wouldn't necessarily call it chashu though). Curry ramen: I want to make it clear that this is not Japanese curry. I repeat: NOT Japanese curry. I'd ordered this with the assumption that this being a ramen joint, the curry ramen would obviously be Japanese curry. Instead, the curry soup base was more like a combination of Indian curry and Thai curry, and it tasted a bit like the curry powder from Trader Joe's. The soup was very watery and on the spicy side, but it wasn't necessarily bad and it was my own fault for not clarifying what kind of curry it was before ordering. I probably wouldn't order this again, especially because the toppings of sliced raw bell peppers and onion weren't particularly appetizing. Ramen Time's portions are generous, their meat fresh, and noodles cooked decently well. It's a far cry from somewhere like Nishikawa, but it's potentially passable if in a pinch. read more
First time, they're not friendly & very "soup nazi" personality which isn't bad of you know what you want or what's the difference between the menu items. the place is pick up or eat outside (4 or 5 tables). looks like they've raised the prices, maybe due to the plandemic? menu on the front of the door has one price inside the door is a different , more expensive price. good portion & decent flavor. the contents are in separate containers & you mix yourself, IDK if that's the usual.. read more

Big bowl + reasonable price = happy belly and wallet! The ramen is tasty and not too salty. I had tonkotsu ramen. The broth is perfectly light and with lightly creamy. The egg noodle is perfectly cooked and the veggies help bring out more flavor of the dish. There are more non-ramen dishes for those who are not in the mood for ramen. The fried rice with bbq pork is great and not too oily. Definitely good place for college students and anyone with small budget. I need to go back to try some appetizers and different kind of ramen. read more

Just ok. It's an ugly room with zero atmosphere and weird service that borders on unfriendly. The ramen is mediocre. It's ok if you are in the neighborhood and don't feel like driving to Tempe or Mesa. read more

Order to go some ramen but the ambiance when I got there was busy. Noodles are chewy as they should be but the broth was a bit disappointing. It was a bit water down unfortunately. Service was fast and effective. read more
I had to go back and forth between 3 and 4 stars. Once again, it's nice if Yelp offered a 1/2 star option. This review reflects two visits. Between those visits we ordered chicken yakisoba, tonkatsu ramen, beef yakisoba, shoyu ramen, beef udon, and chicken fried rice. The results were mixed. The two yakisoba dishes were good. Not "OMG", but good. The shoyu ramen also was good, as was the tonkatsu. The beef udon was not a great dish; the meat had little flavor and the broth was not a lot better. The chicken fried rice also was good. Except of the udon, a solid performance both times. I can't quite elevate this to "I'm a fan", but they are better than "A-OK". So make of that what you will. read more

Delicious! Ramen is very filling and satisfying, great topping choices and variety. Gyoza and fried rice were also delicious and it was fun to do a sake bomb with my dad! I would definitely recommend this shop, it was perfect for warming up before visiting the Desert Botanical Gardens at night. read more

I absolutely love this place so much. I go here all the time and always forget to make a review. I discovered it during Covid so the inside was closed but food was so tasty I always came back and took it to go or ate it outside. But now the inside is open, it's small but cute!! Still so yummy and I always get the Vegetable Ramen, my boyfriend got the Seafood Ramen and enjoyed it as well!! The menus in store are adorable and the waitress is so sweet!! It's usually just her taking orders and taking care of everyone so just be patient, food is tasty I promise. I'll try to try more menu items soon to add more to my review. I live in Queen creek where there is not really much, I wouldn't mind driving to Tempe everyday to get some Ramen if I wanted. Thank you for lovely food every time RamenTime!! read more

Since we are quarantined we obviously didn't get to experience eating in, but delivery did not disappoint! We ordered the spicy ramen, tonkutsu, and a milk tea boba. The spicy was super spicy! Tonkutsu was super good, and the milk tea boba was ok, nothing special. The down side of ordering this for delivery like we did was that we had to heat up the broth which it's not like it's cold (it came warm), I just like mine boiling hot! I also thought the egg tasted funky, but my partner didn't think so. You only get half an egg with your ramen. After I heated them (I added 2 tablespoons of water and put the heat on high) I put them in my own bowl. read more

A quaint ramen spot with good service! Small intimate dining area and the ramen is great! I had the tonsoku, and went with someone else who got the shoyu. Both were great and traditional style. Would come back again! read more

Okay, I went here so hopeful. Like soooo hopeful. I mean, I just got back from Tokyo. I grabbed up my Japanese copilot and we went to Ramen Time. I have decided to give them advice and if they follow it I will go back and give them five stars. First of all, Pork Tonkatsu goes over cabbage. Please do that. Secondly, Takoyaki has pink pickled ginger in it, and it is sprinkled with seaweed flakes, plus mayo and sauce at the end. It was missing all of these. Third, The Shoyu broth was salty and almost non-existent. Like an inch of broth under the noodles. Add more water and fill that bowl! Fourth, the chicken yakitori was way undercooked, like almost scary. It only needed another minute over flame to be crispy and sweet. It should have dark crispies on the outside. Fifth and MOST IMPORTANT: WHY WOULD YOU EVER PUT THOUSAND ISLAND DRESSING ON A JAPANESE SALAD????? Please put the carrot/ginger/sesame dressing on that salad. For real. My family is coming from Japan and I would like to take them somewhere but as is, this will not do. Thank you. Good things: The Tonkatsu and Tofu were cooked perfectly. The Takoyaki was okay except for missing ingredients. The gyoza was fresh and the pork inside was juicy. read more

Guys this place is the bees knees, the cats pajamas. I was looking for a spot close by for lunch and stumbled upon here. Nice little mom and pop shop, was seated down quickly and offered a menu. I ordered the Miso Ramen which was so so good, I loved it. The bowl was more than fulfilling, it was flavorful, and came out beautifully. I recommend you come stop by and grab a bowl and try it out. Prices were really fair for what you get, plus they have beer! I will be back for sure read more

I was surprised to see only one other couple sitting down when we walked in at 7:45. Within 5 minutes of sitting down, 3 other groups came in, giving the mid sized restaurant the perfect social ambience. Our service was excellent from the get-go. We had the Gyoza for an appetizer and it was the best I've had in Phoenix. My Tonkotsu Ramen was just as creamy as I like it, and it was a hearty portion size that didn't leave me wanting for more noodles or any other add ons. We got Beef fried rice as well, which was delicious, and not too heavy. Due to ordering with our eyes instead of our appetites, we did not finish the beef fried rice, but I'm looking forward to it complimenting my lunch tomorrow. I'll definitely be back to try the Udon and the Chicken Katsu. And, well, for more Ramen. read more

We ate here a couple of nights ago and I've been meaning to write a review. I was skeptical given the more generic sounding name for the place but we absolutely loved the food. The eggs were perfectly soft boiled and cut in half (we've been having a hard time finding a place that does that right). The bowls of ramen were quite large and the broth was very flavorful, they don't skimp on anything. Ramen Time may have just bumped our current favorite down a notch. I came with some friends on a chilly night to grab some warm bites. We started with some mixed tempura. Solid and right of the fryer the warm crunch of every vegetable and shrimp was on point. Needless to say, you have to eat fresh tempura right away before it gets cold! Our second appetizer were the fried tofu. It came in 8 squares and again best when warm for sure. Then the highlight of the night started with our ramen. I ordered the Ramen Time; a Tonkatsu and seafood broth with roast pork, shrimp, chicken, seaweed, bean sprouts, scallions, corn, and a soft boiled egg. Overall, not too bad as it wasn't overly salty. However, I would want the broth somewhat a little more on the saltier end, but plus and little more pungent. I didn't really care for the chicken, but the shrimp and the roast pork was spot on; especially the roast pork! In the end, Ramen Time will need some minor improvements before I can give it my love. Having Ramen in Japan is not fair, but it's hard to let go of the best and not compare. - Enjoy! read more

The tonkatsu ramen was above average. Not a huge bowl and only one piece of pork, but it is hard to complain for the very reasonable price. Also, the sesame balls are a must. They are incredible. I will return when in the area for sure. See my photos of the current menu. read more
