Large Pretzel
Bailey D.

If you're craving German food, Brat Haus is the spot to be! It had been nearly a decade since my last visit to this charming little bar and beer garden in Old Town, but it's still the same quality of food that I remember. Our group of five arrived on a weeknight at 7 PM without a reservation, and we were able to table a seat inside right away. A few of the beers we were interested in trying were no longer available, which is a bummer, but thankfully they had plenty of other options to choose from. We started with the Sauerkraut Balls (yum!) and the Large Pretzel, which is the perfect size to share among a large group. I went with the Hot Italian Brat for my entree, with Sauerkraut and Onion & Pepper on the side. I got a side of German Potato Salad, which was warm and comforting. The prices are very fair for the portion size! Definitely be sure to come hungry.

There was a lady that had posted on her own review that this place wasn't good for kids. So i was extremely paranoid since my kids aren't the best at staying still at any restaurant we go to. Esp with our friend's kid with us as well it's just a dangerous combo. But we had a great time and thankfully it was not a very busy Sunday night thank god. So as usual my kids did happen to wander a bit but our waitress was extremely nice and understanding. We feel like they changed the recipe for the pork schnitzel. My husband used to love ordering it years prior during spring training and he couldn't even get through half because he said it's not the same as it once was. My burger on the other hand was decent. We loved the renovation to the patio it's much more open and welcoming and nice to see how much growth/change has came over the years of coming here.

We stopped in at the Brat Haus for a beer and snack during spring break and loved the huge outdoor area. They had plenty to do with lots of TVs, giant Jenga, and other activities. There were over 40 beers on tap and the waiter was very helpful in picking a good one based on my preferences. The pretzel bites appetizer was amazing. Great place to visit!

Espresso martinis

The large espresso martini sign out front pulled me in so of course I had to get a martini when I was in the area! The patio is so cute, it felt like a hidden oasis in Scottsdale. We started with some pretzel bites which were good and then followed those with espresso martinis. Unfortunately the espresso martinis were not my favorite as tasted watered down.

Only speaking on the service, the drinks and the pretzel appetizers 100/10. Richy and other staff were extremely attentive and helpful. The lemon drop martini and lemon drop shots were delicious. Really enjoyed ourselves !

I've been hanging out at Brat Haus for many years. The staff is friendly, the food is tasty, the beer selection is vast. There are two indoor areas and a nice outdoor area when the heat isn't insane. Dog friendly with water and treats for them. You can pay a yearly fee to have a beer stein custom engraved with discounts while your stein is active. They also host a very busy Octoberfest every year.

Everything we ordered was delicious! Great service! Love the dog-friendly patio! Giant pretzel was amazing!!! In a fun part of town too! Restaurant is super chill - loved it!

I was here for a private event in which the company was celebrating 15 years in business. The reserved area was off to the side by the kitchen, which allowed for a great atmosphere. The food was good, including sliders, brats, pretzel bites, and more. The service was also great, as they were on top of everything, from getting guest drinks to replacing utensils. I attended a private event at this restaurant to celebrate a small business's 15th anniversary. The reserved space, located near the kitchen, provided a lively and inviting atmosphere. The food selection was enjoyable, featuring options like Sliders, Brats, Pretzel Bites, and more. The service was great, with the staff tending to all the guests throughout the event. It wasn't hard getting drinks despite the busy atmosphere outside of our area. An ideal spot to grab some great German food & beer with a very casual relaxed vibe.

stopped by for a quick drink and grabbed a snack servers were all friendly and had great recommendations! there are a million options for beers which is awesome something for everyone here it's a smaller interior but they had a big patio as well if you want to sit outside. only tried the pretzel on the board but the pretzel and cheese were really good

Brat Haus is the most fun! If you're looking for an incredible selection of beers, ciders and spirits this is the spot! They have so many imported beers that are fantastic and hard to find. Drew runs the show and gives the best service. The staff is incredible! We enjoyed the Octoberfest! It was well received for the entire family. Great chill spot, lots of seating and good vibes.

Great place to have dinner on a Friday night. We sat outside on the patio at one of the wooden tables. I did enjoy sitting outside but I didn't like that the bench was not able to be adjusted - I was too far away from the table and that made it difficult to eat. We started with the pretzel bites. The pretzel bites were pretty good but the beer cheese was great. I got the cheeseburger and really enjoyed it. The burger has a great flavor and the onion jam adds a nice sweetness. I liked the fries they served with it. My sister got the chicken jalapeño cheddarwurst and she really enjoyed it as well.

For me, it was a big hike up to the north side- but totally worth the haul! I grew up in the Midwest, occasionally going to one or two German restaurant/ clubs, so this was not an unfamiliar atmosphere to me. It is definitely a "seasoned" vibe, having immediately taken over the space by a former western bar/beer hall that had been in existence for 50+ years. Their menu says "German and Hungarian" but all I read was German. They have a solid European beer selection, including taps and bottles and some cocktails with a German twist. The one that threw me for a loop (in the best way) was Kriek! So ofc I got a pint. We shared a (fairly large) pretzel to start, which comes with beer cheese. Tasty, but I was genuinely shocked there was no mustard. I ordered the jagerschnitzel (pork) and just overall the meal was as expected as if I was in the Midwest - amazing, delicious, insert chef's kiss. I wish I could have joined the clean plate club. The cucumber salad was flavorful and not too sour/pickley. My friend and I both noted how umami the savory sauce was- not too bacon, not too mushroom. The potatoes were not too salty or under-seasoned. Literally willing to drive up again if/when someone tells me to go. It wasn't horribly busy so it didn't take forever to order and get everything we needed. Our server was super nice and patient. She even gave a bar suggestion that ended up being a nice cherry for the top of the evening.

I was impressed with the size of the schnitzel portion. By the end of the meal I was very full. I know there is a beer garden behind the restaurant but it is probably better at night or in the winter as it was over 100 degrees when I was there. The wait staff was very efficient and my food was ready when I arrived. Parking should be easy except during very busy times.

SENTRY - WATCHING RESTAURANTS…read more Zur Kate 4815 E Main St Mesa, AZ 85205 Companion and I decided to eat German food and having eaten here before, it was time for a new review. We arrived at 4:30 and every table was full! Considering that they opened at 4, it was hard to believe it was so. We had to wait for about 15 minutes, but it was worth it. The owners are from Germany and the food is as authentic as it gets. There is live accordion music also on the premises. When we were seated we were immediately brought fresh baked rye bread and real butter. Our drink order was brought and companion had a Warsteiner beer and I had an Ayinger Dunkel which is a dark beer. Both were from the tap and were ice cold. For the main course, companion had smoked bratwurst with red cabbage and German potato salad. I had the jaeger schnitzel which has a mushroom grave, with red cabbage and spaetzle. Both of our main courses were delicious and large portions. Last was dessert. A big piece of apple strudel swimming in a vanilla sauce. To say we were full is an understatement. A motorized wheelbarrow would have been nice to get out to the car! The restaurant is rated with an A from the health department and it shows. When the bill came it was not to be believed. I've spent a lot more for a breakfast than for this dinner. Including 2 large imported beers the entire bill came to $55.00. I give them 5 stars for outstanding authentic food, good service, and cleanliness.

Per the recommendation from other reviews, I made a reservation for a week night just in case. There are so many combinations of foods you can try, from only pierogis, potatoes, sausages, cabbage rolls, to a mix plate of any of the above and more! I wanted to try a little bit of everything, so I got the potato and sausage plate, which came with 6 pierogi, 2 potato pancakes, and smoked kielbasa. With the pierogis, you can also choose from a wide variety of options: potato, meat, and/or cheese. I feel like you really can't go wrong with any of the pierogis as they are the star of the show. Even though it was a random weeknight, it still got pretty busy with all tables occupied at its busiest. After dinner, we checked out the market attached to the restaurant. They have frozen pierogis from their restaurant you can buy and take home to make yourself. There's also a wide variety of foods specific to this region.

I wanna try the mushroom and rice version next time as I think I would like it way more. I literally have no complaints about this place. Everything was fantastic even the Beer. I just picked a random one and it turned out good nice malt lager and they have a mini shop inside as well. If you wanna buy any food that's related to what they serve there as well as they have a frozen section of handmade pierogies that you can take home that they handmade. I recommend the spot 100%. Our orders were plated nicely and everything looked and tasted great We chose to sit outside, but there is plenty of seating on the inside. The interior is deceptively spacious. There is a long bar with pretzels and other baked treats. The menu is posted clearly behind the bar. The decor was fun and quirky. I enjoyed their chef my songs for "good pretzels for good people (and the other ones too)" Their literal bread and butter is pretzels, and they have a variety to choose from like original, garlic Parmesan, pizza, cinnamon, Italian, everything seasoning, etc etc etc. They also have flights of pretzel knots where you get a chance to try a variety of five. Each pretzel or knots comes with a dipping sauce that includes but is not limited to nacho cheese, beer cheese, sweet cream, marshmallow fluff, marinara, ranch, etc There are even pretzel dogs and other pretzel fusion dishes. If you're thirsty they have soft drinks and specialty coffee options Everything tasted delicious. Both the nacho and beer cheese worked well with the original pretzel and the knots flight Some tips: Parking is limited, but we visited the downtown area a few times, and we were lucky enough to find spots each time Try the knots flight to get a variety.
