My favorite ramen spot in the valley! My go to is always the spicy miso extra spicy and extra ginger on the side. My family and I have been coming here for years. Service is always great. The ladies here are super attentive and there's hardly ever any long waits (unless of course they are super busy) because it's a relatively small area. My go to drink is their iced green tea. I should have known to turn around when the place was empty and I wasn't greeted by the lovely older lady screaming CASH ONLY. I shoulda got up and left when I saw we accept all credit cards. I shoulda got up when I saw the prices. I've been visiting this place for over 20 years. It's always been cash only, affordable and quite yummy. I've been coming here for probably 15 years now, and it never disappoints. It's been a while since I last had their ramen and the happiness their food brought me today inspired me to finally leave a review. This is not a thick broth tonkotsu spot and it's what I most appreciate about it. I love the lighter broths, my favorites are the shoyu and miso ramens. Depending on my mood I get it spicy or with extra chashu. The fried rice is unique and tasty, the gyoza are delicate with a crisp skin and the delicious curry is traditional Japanese style. You can't go wrong with adding any of these as a combo with your ramen, you can taste the care they put into them. The ladies that run this place are incredibly sweet and efficient. As always, about twice a week or three times a month I come to eat at the restaurant, Nippon ramen. It has not been one of my favorite places to come and enjoy Japanese food, especially the soups and pork squeezers. I have to say that this is the second time that I have come and they have served me a pork that has no consistency. They have lost their consistency. They have lost their flavor. Eight days ago I came here and ordered the same thing and they gave me a dry pork that was poorly served. I returned it and then they heated it up, something that should not be done because the chasú is at served at room temperature. Today I return again and ordered the same thing and it turns out that the pork has no flavor. It is the same. They did not always pay attention to the recommendation that the pork was not at its best, but they continued doing the same thing because it was very sad. read more

My rating is more of a 4.5. Been in the valley for a few years and this is the first time I tried Ramen Nippon. While most other Ramen establishments serve pork based broth, this place opts for chicken base. Per their website, the flavors are more "classic" and you can definitely taste that when you sip the broth for the first time. I got their eponymously named Ramen Nippon which is a shoyu style ramen, and I was pleasantly surprised. It tasted very good and wasn't heavy. To be honest, I'm kind of disheartened that it took me this long to try this establishment out. The employees were also very nice and accommodating. I'm taking off half a star because I ordered a combo C which includes fried rice and a 4 piece gyoza. Both were decent but they cost an additional $8 along with the Ramen. They were by no means bad, but they weren't "exceptional." I would say if you're feeling hungry and price isn't an issue, definitely get a combo, but just know the sides are not mind blowing. Would I come back? Yes. They have a variety of dishes on the menu, and I would definitely come back to try something different. read more

My friends, partner, and I have been regulars here for over 10 years. It's a small, simply decorated spot with light jazz playing over the speakers, and the food speaks for itself. We've tried almost everything on the menu, all of them delicious. The broth is made from scratch and the noodles are always perfectly cooked. My favorite during the winter is the spicy miso ramen with extra bok choy and my favorite during the summer is the hiyashi tantanmen with extra broth. The sui gyoza is a go-to for my partner as well as the jajamen and miso ramen. The wait staff were attentive to our table last night as usual and were very appreciative when we congratulated them on the new look to the menu. We ordered Mabo, Shoyu, Miso and Spicy Miso Ramen with a side of Gyoza. The ramen was good. A really huge bowl for around $15. Mabo was good but not as spicy as I thought it'd be. Spicy miso was very spicy and had a lot of chili flakes and seeds. Shoyu was way too salty, needed vinegar or something to balance it out. The gyoza was pretty meh. Not enough crunch and it didn't have very much flavor by itself. It required soy sauce to go with it. Overall, good ramen with a good portion size. read more

To begin, the ambiance is so calming, instrumental background music playing which was so soothing. But most of all, the service was top tier. This was one of our last minute decisions to come as we were looking for a Ramen place. Service was decent and they were nice. Portion sizes are excellent and prices are comparable to other ramen places I believe. Only reason why it got a 4 and not a 5 because I've had some yummier ramens elsewhere (Little Tokyo), but this place is not bad at all. What a classic! I have been coming to this place for almost 10 years. It may seem like a hole in the wall but the service and comforting food will make you feel right at home. THE FOOD: Is so tasty. This is my go-to ramen spot. I have tried the other things on the menu like the curry, fried rice and potstickers and those are good as well. THE SERVICE: Is wonderful.
