Fair price, add-ons kind of expensive though. Flavor was average, like the definition of average. Not special not awesome but not bad. The service was very quick though, one of the cooks behind the counter in the kitchen was eating with his hands while I think chopping? So i hope he was on break in the wrong area cause thats a little gross. Also the dishes looked gross which can happen.... Ramen enthusiast here who has tried several ramen joints in Japan, Okinawa, & Hawaii so my ramen expectations are kinda high. I dislike giving low ratings but I have to be frank about my experience. Two stars are for the cleanliness, ambience, & decor. I like the wall decor and rustic/industrial light fixtures. The soft lighting made the place feel warm & cozy. So on to the nitty gritty.....Customer service was not great. 1) We were not warmly greeted when we walked in (others who came after us were) 2) Once our order was taken & our drinks handed to us, not one waiter ever came to check on how we were doing or if our drinks needed to be refilled but was quick to hand the check & bid us farewell when we left. The food was meh. The presentation was okay, portion was decent, but the flavors were really lacking. 1) Garlic Miso Ramen with a side of spicy & kimichi: The broth was tasteless & the spicy paste I was given was not even "spicy". Adding the kimchi gave it some flavor but it was still lacking that oomph I was seeking in a great ramen. The charshu tasted weird & kinda gross. The egg was not too bad but I've had better. The noodle was cooked perfectly & I like how it was "plated" on my bowl. Veggies tasted fresh so I appreciated that. 2) Katsudon: The rice & pork cutlet was dry and the sauce was meh as well. 3) The gyoza was fried perfectly but the filling was dry & the dipping sauce was ew. 4) Spicy chicken karaage: Flavor was okay but it lack the crunch that I normally like & it was drenched in it's sauce which I did not like at all. The spicy chicken karaage is probably some of the best chicken karaage I've ever had. The flavors are perfectly balanced and the chicken itself was crispy and juicy. I kind of regret only getting one order haha The broth for the tonkotsu wasn't as flavorful as the spicy karaage, but the pork chasu was really good. Noodles were cooked perfectly. I needed to redeem myself for some poor "ramen" I had in my local town. I am sure glad I stumbled upon this place! Although I am a lifelong pho devotee, I like to enjoy me some Ramen from Time to Time. What brought me here was Tsukemen being on the menu! While I do enjoy a hearty bowl of Ramen, I am a sucker for some Tsukemen! I enjoy eating tsukemen, bexause of the Novel experience in having to dip the noodles and everything in the broth. I don't know about you, but it's almost like being able to play with your food and actually enjoy eating it! I was very pleased with the portion of noodles they provided with my Tsukemen. I have had instances of ordering Tsukemen where the portion size of the noodles was piss poor. They did not skimp out on the noddles at all! The broth was very tasty and rich in flavor, which is what you should expect when eating Tsukemen. The broth was not only rich in flavor, but it was also a thick broth that stuck to the noodle with each dip. I have had other where the broth would run off the noodles, leaving little to no flavor at all. No worries here! My only slight gripe was the noodles were a bit too al dente for my liking and my wife also had the same issue. I also wish they gave a little more broth to work with. Other than those two minor points, it was still enjoyable nonetheless. Takoyaki was very delicious and flavorful. It did not have the fishy taste to it like I have experienced with other places. My wife was a big fan of the Takoyaki here. The Grilled Ika was excellent! The squid was fresh and it was prepared perfectly. Add that with a squeeze of lemon and their aioli/yuzu dip, you are in for an enjoyable appetizer. Overall money well spent. Ramen enthusiast here. And so after having eaten ramen in Japan, It seems I have become quite picky... I love that there is a ramen shop here in Allen as we usually have to make the trek down towards Carollton or Dallas. Ramen comes out quickly and there is a variety of flavors to choose from. I like to try tonkotsu flavor just as a standard for the broth, noodles, and also the pork. Finding the dipping ramen on the menu was a treat as we don't usually get to have this. My daughter who only loves the noodle was very happy to get this dish. She can choose to dip or not to dip into the dipping sauce. We loved the little dishes as well. Especially the coolness of the pickled cucumber appetizer and the flavorful edamame. These were great to nibble one while waiting for the entree's to come out. I've been here a few times and have always enjoyed the food. Yuzu Shio Ramen The description states "Chicken/fish broth, pork chashu, soft-boiled egg, menma,bean sprouts, green onion, nori, yuzu". The broth is light and good but it takes some concentration to get the fish aspects of the broth. I recommend this ramen if you want a lighter flavor. I've been searching for a fish broth similar to Rokurinsha's tsukemen in Japan - thick, deep, and rich. After getting back to the US I legit had dreams about this ramen. I must say, the decor here is agreeable but the flavors are lacking. I got the Spicy Miso Ramen and the first thing it was lacking was the spicy... the usual rich flavors were not there, the salty ness of the miso was no present whatsoever so had to add some of their seasoning offered on the table. Also disappointing what's the chashu... it was as wide as my fingernail (see pic) and only 3 pieces which would equal the size of one regular chashu. Flavorful! Tasty ramen; portions were right-sized. Ordered mine extra-spicy and they delivered. The broth could have used a smidge more seasoning (salt and garlic, at least) to create a "Wow!" The soup that came with other meals (like the Katsudon) was almost flavorless (even with the green onions); not a fan. The Katsudon was a little dry but had good breading and enough flavor to disappear quickly off the plate. The Ebidon did not fill an empty stomach. The spicy chicken karaage was excellent. We could not eat it fast enough! The actual cabbage portion of the plate was akin to coleslaw, but we did feel the sauce on top was a bit excessive. The ambiance was right: comfortable enough to stay a while, but effectively set up to allow quick turn-around on new seating. A good place for a quick meal... More like 3.5 but I'll round up. It was raining and cold which meant I was craving soup!! We stopped in on a Saturday around 6pm and it was not too busy. We had edamame, agadeshi tofu, potato croquettes and chashu buns to start. The edamame was not nuked and was probably the star of that starters followed by the croquettes... The agadeshi was not silken tofu and pretty salty so wouldn't order again. The chashu buns were a bit soggy and my least favorite. For mains, I had the yozu shio ramen which tasted decent but wasn't as hot a I'd like. Soup should be molten hot IMO. The kids at tonkatsu rice, which tasted crunchy and pretty good. Overall, we'd return again if we're looking for a quick meal close by but not somewhere I'd seek out. read more

The servings were generous. It wasn't at all what I expected because the broth tasted and smelled kind of burnt. The ramen noodles were perfectly cooked and the tofu was just the right texture too. My daughter ordered the chicken ramen and her's was okay but it did not have alot of taste to it. My son orded the fried shrimp and coleslaw. Wow! Let me tell you first I don't much about Ramen. Only been to a few ramen places in my lifetime and the dried kind we all eaten at some point. The location in Allen is new and clean, it was Saturday night and no wait but 90% of tables where full. We had the grill pork dumplings, which where fantastic. One of my favorite haunts whether dining solo or with friends/family. They have a bar for you if solo, and plenty of comfy seating around when with company. I've dined in Japan before and can honestly say their flavor is the same as what I got in Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima, and Ginza. We ordered the Chicken Karaage and the Agedashi Tofu to try and both were quite good. For my main course, I ordered the Garlic Miso Ramen. The portion size was good, and the ramen wasn't too oily (which is generally my issue with most ramen places). My only recommendation would be for the kitchen to mince the garlic pieces smaller, or use only garlic paste, so that you don't end up eating huge chunks of garlic. read more
