Ralston's is always a solid choice! With a lively atmosphere of table shuffleboard, sports games being played and a big patio, it's always enjoyable. In the past, I'd only come for a drink, but we finally made it for brunch yesterday and it was great! Our server was nice and quick and the brunch menu was great. They had biscuits and gravy, egg platters, egg BLTs, yogurt parfaits and more. I went with the breakfast tacos and loved how they came in a soft, waffle-like shell. Interesting! I got two chorizo egg and one bacon egg tacos and almost finished all of them. The breakfast dishes come with a side of crispy potatoes which were yummy as well. They have a breakfast cocktail list, but we were in the mood to hydrate this time around. I was in Indy visiting for a friend's wedding and had countless locals tell me this was a spot I needed to check out. We actually ended up coming in here on Friday and Saturday night. Friday night, we walked in and sat in the bar area. This bar is a great sports bar with a really nice patio area. Our server was outstanding and let us know that it was late night menu. They have a few selections, so we ordered some pretzel bites, fries, and sweet potato fries, along with drinks. The second night we were seated in another part of the bar, but still were taken great care of. We ordered some other food, too, since we were there earlier than late night. It was pretty busy, but we were taken good care of. My friend got a quinoa quesadilla which was really good, just a little too spicy for me haha. But those fries and pretzel bites were delish so we got them all again. Can I just say I love the prices in Indy?! Our bill both nights were so cheap, especially as a group of friends that come from expensive cities. I can totally see why our friend that lives her told us to try this spot out. I don't think you could ask for much more in a Drafthouse. We stopped in for dinner before the X Ambassadors' concert the other night. After fleeing the horrible service of the Rathskellar, we came into Ralston's a little uneasy. But we were warmly greeted and quickly seated. Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful. We were checked on frequently and the entire staff seemed happy to help us have a good evening. The food was great, too. I really loved the beer battered fries. And my friend swore by the rosemary potatoes. She ordered the burger and said that it was cooked perfectly Medium. I got the Hot Mess chicken sandwich and felt like it was a good mixture of flavors. It was an overall enjoyable experience. I went on a Wednesday which has nowhere near the crowd I imagine there is on a more active night. With the sports theme and dartboards I imagine it's a lot more fun on a weekend. Service was quick enough and I appreciate the selection of NA beers available. I honestly love their wings so much! After a night out I would come here for their wings and it would never disappoint. They're so flavorful and I would highly recommend theses wings! If there was a zero star, I'd give them a zero. Going out with a few of my work friends after the Pacers game. Wanted to enjoy a few drinks. We head over to Ralston's hopeful for a good time having a few drinks. Come to disappointment, we walk in and there was a sign that said "please wait to be seated". My friends and I were waiting for at least 5 minutes to be seated until one of the workers that came up to us and said "you guys can pick any seat". We eventually found a seat and waited at least 10 minutes until someone came to our table to tell us they'd be with us in a second. Another 10 minutes go by until we decided to leave the establishment. Very disappointed with the service. Hopefully this review will influence some change in the management at Ralston's. read more

Ralston's and I share some fond memories. I've watched a woman fall off of her barstool. I've wondered why everyone was drinking coffee after their meal, only to find out that my check came in a coffee mug. I've had many laughs with the best company, one too many drinks, and some of my favorite appys, aka the cheesy crab dip. Ralston's has a little bit of something for everyone. I think that's one of the reasons I love it so much. Here are my top menu picks: Doc's Spicy Dip - spicy, cheesy, crabby, with grilled bread. Mama Mia!!! Slider flights - 4 mini burgers that give you the opportunity to try multiple burger flavors?! Sign me up. There were at least a dozen noms I dearly wanted to try, from the street tacos to the ooey-gooey ham/fig/grilled cheese sandwiches... There were almost three dozen beers/ales/lagers/ciders/lambics/porters/stouts/goses/etc etc etc. ALL of which looked astonishingly appealing. Everything of which I ordered I adored. So! Soft pretzel bites with fabulous spicy-sweet hot mustards and cheese sauce -- fantastic. And enough to share! Sauced duck sandwich: tender pulled duck, peach chutney, Gorgonzola, arugula, on a soft fresh crisp ciabatta roll... perfection. Dry cider? Crisp and dry, refreshing. Bourbon barrel-aged pumpkin beer? Bright with rich bourbon flavor, oak, perfect hops balance. Deep dark chocolate raspberry Belgian quad? Dessert in a glass, minus the excess sugars. The fall from greatness is painful to experience. I've lived downtown since 2017 and ralstons brunch: 2 eggs bacon potatoes and toast for $8 plus $5 bloodies was the weekly ritual. It was also my favorite bar and I'd recommend it constantly for a great menu with attention to detail. It was my spot. I'm sorry to say that it's a husk of the former establishment it once was. Post covid I understood consolidating the menu but now the only long standard good sandwich, the hot mess, a chicken sandwich is $18. There are no "options" anymore. I brought friends here for their first time singing this spot's good graces only to be embarrassed by my endorsement. I got the cheesesteak. It was crazy over salted, tiny for $14, and not worth the order. It hurts me to say that ralstons as a bar and grill has jumped the shark. If you want good beer on draft and darts absolutely still come through, the tap list remains excellent. The nachos are still excellent too. Most of the apps are still there but dinner is unfortunately off the menu. RIP old friend. You will be missed. read more

We ordered via DoorDash. First timers. Let's get serious: The wings are huge, juicy, delicious, and the grill-flavor is fantastic. My husband can't stop talking about how great they are. He got them with the Danart hot sauce, he said the flavor has a great heat but only a small kick. I got the steak quesadilla and had to fight my husband off of it even though he had his own food. I ordered it without cilantro because I only like a light amount and didn't know how much there would be. The quesadilla is SO GOOD. The steak is seasoned & tasty, the crunch of the tortilla is a nice touch. Also, I know it shouldn't be such a crazy compliment, but they remembered the condiments we ordered! I used to really like the food and atmosphere of Ralston's, but my visit tonight was disappointing and I won't be returning anytime soon. Our server was lacking some basic social skills, and very inattentive, despite there being only a few other guests. My food came out 10-15 minutes later than the rest of our table because he didn't input the order (a burger and fries). When we finished eating, we waited nearly 30 minutes to receive the bill. I was unaware of some major menu changes. Their fries and onion petals were my favorites, but they switched vendors and are no longer offered. The sliders are also not available anymore. We went late one night for drinks with coworkers. I'm usually wary of downtown places because I hate downtown traffic & parking, but we easily found a parking spot at 9 pm on a Friday a block from the establishment. It's a cute little sports pub with tons of beers and ciders on draft, but my favorite is their cute little patio with lights. When the weather is nice outside it's perfect to sit out and grab a drink with friends and people watch the downtown foot traffic. They have a full menu with tons of great looking dishes, but by the time we ordered they were down to their late night menu, which still has a ton of choices. I got their "Yogi" fries which are loaded fries topped with queso, pico de Gallo, guac, sour cream, corn & jicama. For as many calories as it probably had, it tasted fresh and light and healthy... No wonder it's named Yogi! My favorite drink on their menu is the Dragon's breath, which is fireball, Jim Beam apple, grenadine and ginger ale! read more

You can pick any 3 from their menu so I picked the blueberry and sausage, yogurt and berries, and their chorizo! Hands down the best thing on their menu. The sausage and blueberry waffle taco was the perfect balance between salty and sweet and their yogurt waffle felt like the perfect dessert to top off a delicious meal. Since Covid, they have limited their menu to basically sliders, apps, and salads. Their sliders are great! You really cannot go wrong with any of them. The dip had great flavor and packed just the right amount of heat for the dish. The bread held its structure but it wasn't the harsh crispy bread that tears up your mouth, it was the perfect balance of soft and stable. They've added outdoor seating in their parking lot during COVID and are appropriately social distancing the tables. Their outdoor seating, as they had done before, is dog friendly. If you stop by, their pretzel bun mini burgers are a must try. The bun is so soft and fluffy for a pretzel burger. They also make their own ketchup which is akin to Bru Burgers if you've had it - sweeter and thinner than traditional ketchup. Those 'Murca Cheese Fries are not to be slept on. Man they were sooo good. Came here after the Pride parade looking for shelter from the rain outside and a bite to eat. The fries came out first and were irresistible. The cheese sauce was perfect. I ordered the hot mess burger and my girlfriend ordered the Babu burger. They come as a pair so we both swapped one so we could taste both. The Babu burger has a sauce that is something like you've never tasted snd will properly only get here. One of the things I love most about Ralston'a Drafthouse is the patio out front! Patios are hard to come by on Mass Ave. and this is a good spot. Recently during COVID they've added additional outdoor seating in the parking spaces. If you are looking for a spot to catch a football game stop by Ralston's and watch the game on the big screen on the patio. Personally my favorite thing is the brunch! Most wouldn't even realize they offer brunch but it's a great bunch with some menu variety but not to much to pick from. My boyfriend loves the waffle tacos and my favorite is brunch BLT on ciabatta. They also have a diverse cocktail menu, wine and about 20 beers on tap. I will say sometimes the service can be a bit slow; however, it's still somewhere we frequent often. I've ventured here several times and I'm always impressed with the beer selection. This go round I wanted to try something a little different. I opted for Lindeman's Framboise. This is a Belgian raspberry beer that sits somewhere between sparkling wine and beer. It's fresh and tart without being overly sweet. And of course we ordered a ridiculous amount of food. I got the Reuben fries. House-made corned beef, sauerkraut, 1000 island dressing, and Ralston's white cheese sauce on their beer-battered fries. The fried cheese curds were amazing. They were served with an unexpectedly delicious blood orange IPA honey lime-mint sauce. (Y'all that's a mouthful) Jason ( I think that's what his name was) was attentive but not annoyingly so. As someone who lives just a few blocks from Mass Ave, Ralstons is one of the few restaurants I've yet to check off my list. We decided to dine in the front patio which was cozy and comfortable, even on a 89 degree evening! When comparing the nachos and smoked grouper tacos, I would have to highly recommend the nachos. The nachos come fully loaded with a variety of toppings so you won't have to worry about a bad chip to topping ratio. I do want to call out that the pulled pork that you can get on the nachos does have a bit of a sweet sauce on it. I was not expecting the sweetness, but wouldn't let it deter you unless you have an aversion to sweet sauces. I had high hopes for the smoked grouper tacos with a spicy crab sauce, but unfortunately it was hard to taste any smokiness in the fish or spicy in the sauce. Ralston's was a decent spot for a casual dinner with family after an event downtown, but I didn't think it was anything extraordinary. At first glance, I was impressed with their menu variety and had trouble deciding what to order, as there were several that caught my eye. I landed on the Ralston's Recession Burger-- which was pretty good, but didn't blow me away. The combination of toppings like cheddar, spicy mustard, and more created a unique flavor on top of the ground beef and potato burger. The pretzel bun was tasty, as well. It was a very filling burger and came in a large portion, along with a side of fries. Their fries were spiraled wedge type fries that I can't quite explain and wasn't overly impressed with. The vibe was very relaxed and includes shuffleboard and darts. However, the bar-like feel wasn't exactly my scene and being surrounded by yelling men and girls standing and dancing wasn't my cup of tea. This might be a good place to drink, but as far as a place for a casual dinner-- not so much. Perhaps it was the specific crowd that night-- but it felt really rowdy. Our server was a younger female and while I can't majorly complain-- as she brought us our food promptly and there were no mistakes and she was prompt with refills, etc., she seemed as though she may have been very tired or even under the influence, as all of our interactions with her were very strange. When she first stopped over at our table to greet us, she greeted us and then stood there for some time without asking to take our drink orders, etc.-- almost as if she wanted us to take the lead on the conversation. There were a few other incidents like this where something just felt off and I can't quite put my finger on it. i've been hooked on this place since 2017 and i order the same thing each time i go! i always seem to go at different times with different people or simply alone. i've dined in & carried out. it's usually pretty crowded on weekend nights with draft beer drinkers & game watchers. the house is on mass ave not far from tini's and the metro i decided to go last night with another Yelp Elite member after attending Yelp's Solidcore workout class. It was a pretty short walk and when we arrived inside we were the only patrons. We were seated in the bar area and given menus. I ordered the Rhinehurst Bubbles and the bartender leaving his shift brought us both waters. We advised them we would be right back and we got weird stares but our meters were running out and the app was not cooperating. When we were done and seated we placed our food orders and waited. Our fries were brought out first as appetizers. I don't suggest this as they pair well with the wings and stay warmer longer but we were pretty hungry. The fries were crispy and still soft on the inside. The dippin sauce was good. i did ask for an additional one as just one cup is not enough for an appetizer portion. Our wings . i got the bourbon barbecue sauce on the side although i don't need any. the dry rub and my wings cooked crispy is perfection on its own. Our bartender Shelby was attentive and moved swiftly when we requested things. They are pricey imo without the drink $18 is pricey for wings & fries 25 total.
