This location is very close to the parking garage and Clowes Hall. It's a great place to grab an early and fairly quick dinner before a concert. They don't take reservations and you generally have to have all your party available before getting a table. Food is basic pub fare and sandwiches are very tasty. Think I'll try a pizza next time. Cocktails are .

If beer and pub grub are your thing, this is the perfect place for you. Lots of folks visit here before and after the shows on campus, so be prepared. The portions here are quite generous and the prices fairly reasonable. Service is a bit of a hit and miss, but the food comes out rather quickly. Most of the restaurant is either high-tops or booths, so be aware in case you need accommodations. I believe their are a couple of accessible tables in the far corner though.

My husband and I stopped in here for a late dinner after an event at Clowes Memorial Hall. For a Saturday night, it wasn't very busy, so we were seated right away and had a nice spot on the patio to enjoy the great weather. Our server was really nice and checked-in often, despite it eventually picking up quite a bit with other people walking down from the event and lots of carry out traffic. She made sure we had plenty of water and fresh beers and our food came out hot, although there was a little bit of a wait. We were so hungry and ate every last bit of wings on our plates before finishing up our beers and heading home. I can't wait to stop in again!

Great place to stop by for dinner after a show at Clowes Hall. It is open late and has a large menu.

My son and I stopped in for dinner before seeing Sal Vulcano at Clowes. We didn't have a wait. The staff were very nice and attentive. We sat on the bar side and it had many TVs available for viewing. It was nice, looked like a pub setting with the different flags and memorabilia. I ordered the Earls Club with chips. The sandwich was good and the chips were chips. We were able to get in and out in a timely manner. I felt it was a little pricey for my small sandwich, but it was good.

We went to Chatham Tap Butler before the Mike Birbiglia show the other night. It was super busy but they kept up! We sat at the bar. Hubs got the nachos and I got the French dip. The French dip was lovely, really well seasoned and tender. The sweet potato fries were cold when I got them but the rest of our food was hot and fresh. It's a great place with lots of TVs so it's got a nice vibe and you can see whatever sports you'd like while there too.

We enjoyed a strangely, wonderful, relaxing and delicious lunch this afternoon. On Saturday's, we try to take our well behaved, 60 lb. Treeing Tennessee Brindle Hound, Baxter, to lunch at one of the nearby restaurants with a dog friendly patio. With rain expected in the Indy area in the next 2-3 hours, we were selective where we choose for lunch. We hoped to miss the rain totally, but it didn't happen. Chatham Tap, at Butler University, has a covered awning with a heater, ceiling fan and wide patio awning which kept us 100% dry. We watched the rain, and the Butler fans darting in and out of the rain, while enjoying our delicious lunch and still had a dry space to enjoy our dog. We explained our rain plan to the hostess and she was happy to seat us under the awning. We had a friendly greeting from our server who proceeded to deliver our beers and cocktails quickly. Light ales to rich stouts, imports and craft beers are available plus a well stocked full bar. Happy Hour runs Mon. through Fri., 3:00 - 6:00, with a nice menu to choose from. Buffalo Chicken Dip is one of my favorites as well as the Chicken Wings with Chipotle Apricot, BBQ, Hot Buffalo or Teriyaki are just a few of our favorite sauces. The Fried Pickles are delicious and the Nachos are so satisfying. Today, I had a delicious Flint's Meatball Sub with a 1/2 lb. of beef and pork homemade meatballs topped with excellent, well seasoned, marinara sauce, provolone, parmesan and oregano on a hoagie bun. My husband ordered the always amazing Half Order of Fish and Chips served with 3 filets placed on top of flavorful, seasoned, crisp fries. It's one of our favorite meals. Our server was personable and provided excellent service. The menu offers all the typical Pub food with soups and salads, burgers, sandwiches, terrific burgers, pizzas plus some special entrees (Scotch Eggs, War Pig, Reubens, Rasher and Apple Bacon plus more). They also open early to serve breakfast for many of the soccer games aired on T.V. Check social media for dates. The parking garage is well marked and afforable with increased parking prices for special events. Stop in for good food, terrific selection of brews, and soccer's games.

The Chatham Tap at Butler University seems like it would be quite the hopping place if you went during the regular semester, but is quite relaxed during the summer. A group of friends and I went to see the Pacers game, shown on every TV in the place for easy viewing. Despite the establishment being only about 1/3 full, service was somewhat slow. Granted, we were waiting a while for a few members of our party to arrive, there was still long stretches of time where our table was not tended to. However, the food was well worth the wait. We ordered... Spinach and artichoke dip ($10 or 11, not pictured): served with pita chips and Parisian bread. This was absolutely decadent and a great introduction to the dining experience. Southern BBQ pork sandwich ($11, 13 with fries): as a southerner myself, I always have high expectations for my BBQ and this met the bar, but did not dazzle me. You get a good heaping of pulled pork on your sandwich, along with the delicious onion rings. I do think the pickles are a bit briny so I went without them on my sandwich. Raspberry lemon cheesecake (MP $8, not pictured): this is a rotating dessert on their menu, though I don't think this is necessarily a mainstay contender. It is a fine cake, but does not have that classic cheesecake flavor, and the lemon is very subdued in the raspberry. Chocolate layer cake ($6): quite delicious, but as a disclaimer, it is made with peanut butter frosting, which is not listed on the menu. Our server did ask if anyone had peanut allergies as we did share, but it is always a slippery slope unless such an ingredient is listed on the menu. This cake is also served with strawberry slices and a raspberry syrup, which I think is not needed for the cake itself. I could certainly come here again, and I would certainly love to try some of the other options!

    Haitian martini - so good!

We came after a volleyball game to hang out, have some dinner and drinks, and watch the Pacers game. TVs galore, 21+ bar, great food, and we had great service at the bar. I absolutely loved my Haitian martini. It was a rum based sweet tiki drink and I would have 10 of them if I could! I could see this being a more rowdy, loud bar during the school season, but we really enjoyed it when we went at the end of May.

We enjoyed here before a show at Clowes Memorial Hall; their fried pickles were very good and they had some cool sandwiches on their menu.

The customer service here is excellent. I asked for a chicken taco salad similar to what is served at the Mass Ave location. The item was not on the menu but the chef was willing to look up pictures and ask me how I would like it so he could make it. He was very nice and came to check in to see if everything turned out good. I appreciate the chef for attempting this dish even though this location doesn't have it on their menu or make it.

Fish and chips were good but greasy this time.

If you're visiting an event at Clowes Halls at Butler, then Chatham Tap is a great spot to dine beforehand or afterward. The sports bar menu has appetizers, soups, salads, and sandwiches with a full bar. The food is good, be sure to arrive early if dining, and servers are prepared for sporting events on flatscreens, games at Butler Bowl, or Hinkle Field House or events at Clowes Hall. The atmosphere is a sports bar so it can be very loud during a game. Dine at a large, 6/8 person booths, tall-top tables in bar area, dine at bar option with current enclosed patio seating. Regular height tables are available in another dining room. You can park in the Sunset Parking Garage directly behind Clowes Hall located in the 4700 block of Sunset Avenue between 46th and 49th Streets. Event parking is usually $10 (cash or card accepted). Easy to locate as traffic cones and employees will direct you into the garage. It is a very short walk (75 yds.) from the parking garage to the entrance of Clowes Hall. Metered Street parking is available in front of Chatham Tap and accepts coins or cards with a 2-HOUR LIMIT. Metered parking is enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Do not park at a broken meter as you will receive a ticket you'll be responsible for. So last night when I attended The Nutcracker, at Clowes, it was so convenient and affordable. I parked once, at the garage, had dinner at Chatham Tap, again feet from the garage, then walked approximately 75 yards to entrance of Clowes Hall. One of the main reasons I love coming to Butler for events and Chatham Tap to grab a meal.

With this being the only restaurant on Butler campus I had expected it to be decent, but unfortunately my dining experience was just... "ok" and not great. I liked the sports bar atmosphere but the place was so quiet and dead. The service was very slow. Few minutes to be greeted by the server, the food didn't take long but I didn't get things I asked our server for (drink refills and extra napkins). I eventually reminded her and got my refill but didn't get the napkin when I was eating and needed it the most, so I gave up. They have decent selection of food, but it's definitely on the pricey side considering it is on campus and targeted customer base is largely students (I would assume?) My burger was good, but nothing really stood out and I will probably not return. If you live in the area I think this could be a great place to gather with friends and watch games.

Don't visit thinking you're going to find a meal, because they don't have a lot of food beyond locally made hand pies and empanadas, a grazing board, and something called Snug Nuts. (Which brings to mind certain ... images.) I didn't get any food, just a Road & Coke, which is a whiskey with a Coke and lime, similar to a Cuba libre, although a Cuba uses rum. It was delicious, but a little light on the booze. It was only $5 and change, though, so it's kind of like what do you expect, really. It was a nice drink to sip slowly while I sat in the small, cozy bar. Speaking of bar aesthetics: Snug lives up to its name. It's tiny and dark but inviting. It feels like stepping into a hug. A hug that can also provide you with copious amounts of Irish whiskey, which sounds like the best kind of hug, to me.
