I wrote letters and sent receipts to the store, to Kroger corporation and to the credit card company that services these gift cards. I sent them all my documentation. None of them ever replied or offered to help recover my money. It leads me to believe there must be institutional acceptance of this type of theft among the companies involved. I ran into a customer service issue at this store but the DM, and corporate office was very quick to give it attention and resolve the issue. I feel like as a community, customer service can go both ways. This is why based on their care and concern in the handling of my issue, they've earned 5 stars! ZERO STARS! Ralphs can thank Stacy for this poor rating! I came to this Ralphs location because I didn't want to deal with the masking restrictions of LA county and getting yelled at in the grocery store, which seems to be the norm these days. Entered the store and began shopping. Everything was fine - no angry customers, no angry store employees, nobody yelling at me about COVID - everything was smooth sailing until I got to the self checkout. This is where Stacy completely destroyed my pleasant shopping experience. Stacy's name tag says she loves her dog......After the experience I had with Stacy, I feel bad for her dog! Good grief! Stacy was rude, condescending, and accused me of stealing a canned food item (not once, but twice!). Went to the self checkout and was "greeted" by Stacy. By "greeted," I mean she was directing foot traffic to the self checkout stations as if she were a grade school hall monitor - loud voice and violently pointing to which self checkout station you, the customer, were allowed to use. Barely pushed my cart up to the self checkout and Stacy immediately starts asking me about bags. "How many bags do you want?" I did not want bags as I was only getting a few things. Stacy seemed irritated when I told her no bags. Began scanning my items and notice that Stacy is pacing back and forth behind me. Continued to scan my items, when the machine stopped with a screen saying to place all scanned items in the bagging area. I had placed all my scanned items in the bagging area. I was waiting for the machine to catch up when Stacy came barging over pointing at my canned food items. She claimed that I didn't scan one of the cans and that's why the checkout monitor was lagging. She then proceeds to count every single item that I have placed in the bagging area and compares it to everything that shows up as scanned on the self checkout monitor! SERIOUSLY?!?! These were canned food items that cost less than $1.00. Waited for Stacy to get out of the way so I could continue scanning my items. Scanned another canned food item and the checkout machine jammed up again with the same screen telling me to put the scanned items in the bagging area. Here comes Stacy talking down to me as if I was a child - telling me I'm not scanning the items and I need to put all the items in the bagging area! She pushed her way to the self checkout monitor, pushing me out of the way. Looks at all the items scanned on the screen and proceeds to stand there counting all the items I've scanned as if I'm trying to steal something! She's pointing to some of my canned items and tells me I didn't scan them when I did!!! I have shopped at Ralphs and Kroger stores all over the southwest states and I have NEVER had an employee treat me like a criminal over a self checkout screen jamming up! Here I was, shopping with my mother and being treated so rudely. Between my mother and I, we hold 6 advanced degrees with multiple years of education - something Stacy failed to realize. I was not stupid, I was not a child, and yet she was talking down to me in such a condescending tone. Here I was carrying thousands of dollars worth of luxury handbags with a very expensive luxury vehicle sitting out in the parking lot and Stacy thinks I'm stealing a can of food that cost less than $1.00?!?!?!?! Is Stacy even aware that people can steal $900+ worth of merchandise in CA and won't even go to jail? I'd really like to see Stacy try to stop people stealing - now that would be a show to see. Good grief - My mother and I will never be returning to this Ralphs due to Stacy. And that survey at the end of your receipt........yep, they will be hearing about Stacy who claims she loves her dog, yet treats customers so horribly. read more

Employees are always friendly! This Ralph's location is my go-to for food and flowers. They have the BEST floral department, thanks to Mariana! Flowers are always fresh. I always pick out my flowers and have Mariana put them together, she's amazing, period. Friendly, and patient. Overall a disappointing experience with Ralph's Bakery in Seal Beach. (Long story short) I will not include names. Just want to inform the consumer, TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE! Right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. Everyone we spoke with gave different information, on the phone and in person. ~When placing the order I brought a SEALED bottle of sprinkles (of the specific color desired), which per telephone conversation was acceptable, now manager states it's NOT acceptable. ~Order of 36 cupcakes is placed. On the form I noticed, pick up date was left blank, instead it was written under "Date Order Placed" . That was amended before leaving the store. ~On pickup date, we arrived 35minutes after indicated pickup time, and we're told CUPCAKES ARE NOT READY.... The decorator apologized and asked to wait for him to finish... I asked, how are you going to make this right? He offered a refund...and that's why they got at least 1 star. read more

I was there on a August 5, 2022 Friday night around 8:30 PM. There was only 1 cashier line open besides the self-check out. I was the fourth person in line and there were other people behind me. Denise a Ralph's employee asked a fellow co-worker if he would open a register. He did and she proceed to push her cart full of groceries to check out. She was unprofessional and no qualms about customers who had been waiting their turn. She had her co-worker checkout her cart which was filled to the brim with groceries, while everyone who had been waiting in line, still waited. She cut in line of everyone and used the fact that she was an employee to get preferred treatment. When I brought it up to the Sales Manager who talked to Denise with me present. I said to Denise you just went ahead of everyone else who had been waiting in line. She said well I was in the self-check out. What does that have to do with anything??? She was not apologetic and was arrogant. The manager said that she was off her shift, and said to Denise you should remove your name tag as it appears you are still working her and therefore representing the company. Again the point was missed, if she was off her shift she should have still went to the back of the line of everyone else who was waiting. I like shopping at this grocery store, and for most all except for this instance with Denise have been terrific employees treating customers fairly and with respect. read more

This Ralphs is my go to grocery store. It is spacious, clean, recently remodeled, and has a great staff. However, there has been a recent problem in the service deli, which I frequent. The staff has been severely cut back, and customers have to wait way too long to get helped. There are many times when there are five or more customers waiting, and only one person waiting on them. I do see other service deli employees, but they are doing prep work. This has been going on for several months, and occurs no matter what time of day, or day of the week, that I go. I complained to the store manager, who blamed it on "corporate." Yeah sure, if your customers are mad, why don't you fight for the right to have more employees there. read more

We walked in and the music was so loud and the only 3 workers plus manager were dancing and acting as if it was a party. I asked the manager if she could please turn the music down and she accused me of being racist... I then walked away and shopped. When I proceeded to the ck out. There was a long wait one checker and 2 other workers doing nothing. So I left and as I walked out they yelled at me The F word and don't come back.. I occasionally get groceries here for my Mom who lives at leisure world. During covid they have really not kept up safety protocols. Stores way too crowded. Many not wearing a mask or wearing it incorrectly( under their nose) with no employees correcting them or asking them to leave. Seen people coughing all over with their mark on too. I will not be shopping here again for her. I will drive miles out of my way to a safer store. The Albertsons by my house in orange seems to understand covid protocols and limits how many people are in the store, enforce mask wearing and even specific which doors are to be used as the entrances and which are exits. It's not that hard and with a large elderly population that shops at this Ralph's, I'd expect better. read more

I like going to Ralphs often because I usually find the products that I am looking for plus it's close to where I live. The cashiers are very friendly and happy to assist, but the people who help at the bakery section are not very helpful. For instance, I was looking for cinnamon rolls today (later I realized they were in a different packaging). So I went to ask someone who was already talking to a customer. I waited till the conversation was over so I was about to ask her my question when she told be that she was helping a customer and she left to go to the back. She left me hanging there. I was very disappointed. I think the people behind the counter would benefit from getting a training to learn how to deal with customers. At least basic etiquette would be nice. read more

There was no one sanitizing shopping carts at the entrance and the wipes that were provided near the cart area were dried out and of no use. Worst of all was the attendant at the self check out (Kathy) who made us feel that we, as the customers, are a huge inconvenience to her. After I checked her name tag, she then told another customer "this is why I record everything" with her voice purposely pitched loud enough so we would hear her. I'm not quite sure what she was trying too prove with that statement. This was not a good representation of a Ralphs shopping experience. Maybe next time will be better. As I'm going to pay in self checkout this old lady by the name of Kathy comes up to me and tells me 3 times in a row like I'm a 4 year old to make sure I don't wet HER self checkout with my flowers ! Keep in mind they are a small bouquet !! She told me 3 times in a row which got me annoyed .... Because first of all I heard you im not s***** like you and second of all she told me in the rudest way possible!! I told her okay I get it after the 3 rd time she told me !! She kept on staring at me the whole time I was doing my self checkout at This point she was just being a b**** wanting to cause a problem with me A CUSTOMER !! If you are into veggies and fruit they have a very nice selection of it, they have a nice selection of alcohol too. Their deli is a little lacking but maybe I caught it at the wrong time of day. I love Ralph's overall and it has been my preferred grocery store for many years. However this review is for the bakery, particularly the rude woman working in the bakery whose nametag indicated that she was the bakery manager (Rachel). She did eventually help me but just acted like she did not want to be there or help me and everything I asked for seemed to be an huge inconvenience and was greeted with an eye roll and a big dramatic sigh. I'm pretty disappointed at the recent changes they made to this Ralph's. There's now a fancy cheese bad and Starbucks (making that 3 Starbucks in one shopping plaza because there's one in Target - simply unnecessary). With these changes came smaller aisles (can barely get to carts through next to each other) and less options (many of my regularly purchased items are gone). I'm sure they made these changes for the majority of the people who live in the area who have $$$ but what about us regular folk who don't? So bummed. read more

The employees here seem pretty consistently unfriendly and miserable. I usually just think perhaps they are having a bad day or a bad life. It is a very busy store, and there are a few nice employees. However, on a recent trip to this store at checkout, the bagger didn't notice the 10 bags I had brought, probably because of the mountain of groceries on top of them, and started bagging my groceries in new bags. I didn't notice as I was still unloading my cart on the conveyer, but when the cashier noticed, she was quite curt with this young man. He may not have noticed because the bags were actually closer to the checker. The cashier then proceeded to take a couple of bags out of my cart and transferred items from the newer bag to one of my older bags. She then wadded the new bag up and tossed it aside. She noticed the other bag was one I had brought so put it back. She rather angrily asked the bagger how many new bags he had given me and even questioned the number he responded with as being too low. I suggested just trading out the same number of my older bags for recycling in exchange, but she didn't respond. I guess recycling a new bag is better than an older one? Even though I had just spent $345 and brought my own bags, she charged me 10 cents a bag (which probably cost the store less than a penny each to purchase wholesale). I could not believe this cashier made such a fuss! I felt really sorry for the young man bagging who actually had been one of the few friendly, respectful people I had encountered that day. Perhaps this is why I rarely see the same baggers twice and often have to bag my own groceries. I don't know what management is like here, but perhaps if the managers and employees were a little kinder and more understanding to one another, they could be kinder to the customers as well. I think I will be frequenting the Sprouts across the street more often. The employees there seem happier and treat their customers more respectfully. read more

I do not recommend you use this bakery for any special sheet cake needs, and do not use them if you want a "scanable image" ! They ruined our event cake, reduced the image size I gave them, it did not feed or use the colors in the image I gave them, and the cake ended up looking lopsided and something from a kids birthday party gone bad. On a good note, it was tasty, but where we wanted to show the cake as a centerpiece at our event, we could not bring it out until we were ready to cut it up it was so ugly. read more

Best. Ralphs. Ever. This store has it all. You can almost buy major appliances here if you look hard enough. The best part is that the lines are never excessively long. They keep enough staff on hand to accommodate customers. They even have self-checkout lines for those of us who aren't afraid to tackle technology (the residents of Leisure World should avoid this section - sorry). I always end up spending way too much money in this particular location because I can't confine myself to just groceries. I want to buy all the knick knacks and wham whams they offer for my kitchen and I'm not normally tempted by that stuff. The back section of the store near the dairy has lower aisles that are filled with specials that are shiny and bright and that you can't live without. It's an interesting layout that I haven't seen in other stores and compels me to investigate. The deli is fabulous as others have noted. This is the GO-TO Ralphs when I'm shopping for a lot of items because I know they'll carry them all. read more

This review has nothing to do with the food or any merchandise for that matter at this Ralph's location. Everything is well stocked and clean. This review is regarding some of the worst customer experience I've EVER experienced, maybe the worst. So I go in after I get off work around 10:30 pm to get a few things to make for dinner. Keep in mind this Ralph's closes around midnight. After I get my stuff I head over to pay. Only one of the numbers is lit indicating that was the only cash register that was still open. So I go to that one and I see 2 employees standing there talking and I stand there waiting for someone to acknowledge me. The man who was talking to his co worker was also cleaning the conveyor belt or whatever you call it that moves, so the cashier can ring you up and looks up at me and is like "are you serious?!?!" Like practically yells it at me. I couldn't even believe it. He didn't say just kidding or anything and just goes back to cleaning. I was so shocked I didn't even know what to say. But seriously? It wasn't even 11 yet and he was closing up like it was closing time. Unacceptable, even if it had been a later time. Then finally the woman he was talking to, I think she was the manager, takes me over to another cash register and doesn't even apologize for that mans behavior. She just excuses it by saying "oh, he is just cleaning up because it slow". Um ok? Because that makes his behavior acceptable? Whatever. Oh, and thanks for apologizing. Rude. So just an FYI don't come here if it's after 10pm because apparently that is when customer service goes out the window. And I hope that the managers at this Ralphs location see my review. It is unacceptable to yell at customers who are there an hour and half before closing!! Makes me mad just thinking about it. Here's a tip on training your employees: tell them that being friendly is crucial and learn what the proper closing time is. It's really not hard whatsoever. read more

Ralph's is good for prices, not so much for customer service. I always find what I'm looking for but there's no guarantee that it'll ring up correctly or that the staff will be helpful. I bought some Ruffles the other day that rang up a dollar more than expected. I came to this store to try to get my dollar back, considering I spend about a quarter of my salary with Kroger. The manager basically told me there was nothing he could do about it.... okay then. I think I'll go to a different Ralph's then. To top it off I was in here a few days later to buy ice for my injured coworker (I work in the plaza) and I was using a self scanner. I had a question about a price that rang up and the attendant was too busy talking to another associate to even realize I needed help. I had to basically visually make myself known to the OTHER associate in order to get assistance. That being said, it's a nice store, very clean and organized. Recently my husband bought a graduation cake he ordered at the bakery department and it was so beautiful! It was a white cake with raspberry and light whipped non-dairy icing to cover it all. I loved it and so did many guests. It was a great change from all those heavy cream ones you get at most bakeries nowadays. Only one guest said they didn't prefer the glaze used but that is because she prefers real raspberries--that's just one picky eater.
