I will say the store is nice and organized. I came in to get a small cake for a friend who completed 600 classes right across the street. I've done this before..just getting a small cake with a few digits written on it and it's never been an issue, even at other Ralphs (I actually used to work for the company years ago). I picked a cake and the bakery employee first told me she couldn't write on it because it was marked down. So I grabbed another cake that was a small pre-packaged one from the bakery, and she said she couldn't do it because it wasn't their packaging and they couldn't open it to write on it. I then asked if she could just write on one of the small cakes on display that wasn't packaged, and she told me it had to be a full cake. At that point, it honestly felt like she just didn't want to do it. She was already working on another cake, and it felt like I was disturbing her. Based on some of the other reviews for this location, it seems like being dismissive or rude to customers might be a common experience here. Whole Foods it is! read more

I go here all the time, but especially when I was with Club Studio. It's a big store with basically everything you would typically be looking for. The deli folks are usually nice, except the time a lady yelled at me for requesting a rotisserie chicken too early in the morning lol. A different time a guy made up for it though when he hand delivered my chicken to me when I was shopping elsewhere. Love that they have the self checkout lanes open. I haven't had to wait too long to check out. It's always a tad bit hectic in the parking lot and the store though, just to a lot of motion. This place has changed for the worst. Crowded cluttered POP displays. Only room for one cart per aisle. Detergent and other supplies in a lock room are paid separately now. Kicker, this morning one checker for 9 people in line. This didn't seem to matter to them even after I clued them in. First, this store has managed to price itself out of competition with Whole Foods (previously known as Whole Paycheck). I mean, your eggs are twice their price. And now, they lock up sundry items like laundry detergent and deodorant in a 'store within a store'. What on earth is this nonsense Kroger? I now get those goods online and shop at every other store in the area (like Trader Joe's and now that it is open, Sprouts!). I also can't not mention the nefarious and deceptive practice of having advertised sale prices that only apply when you use the app - not to be confused with your Ralph's membership number. 7/12/23 Quick pit stop...for the restroom turned into a a little bit of shopping! Dammit, got sucked right in when the lady offering wine tasting approached hubby while he was looking for Mondavi (cabernet) at the spirits section. She talked him up really well & he ended up with a bottle (thankfully not 6 to take advantage of the 30 % off promotion. I picked up a mini watermelon & some mangoes, I couldn't help myself. I love this grocery store! I don't really ever come here but this is my new regular place. Best experience ever! We went to the deli to get sandwich meat and Bill was awesome! Super friendly and great customer service we were curious about certain meat to get and he let us try it. Coming back for the Black Forest ham for sure because we got so much meat already. Then when we checked out, Desmond was awesome too. I feel like I should have been tipping them, they were great. The employees here are so friendly and honestly made my day. read more

They act like there are no customers in their shopping. Their tone is rude and it's annoying to the point where I don't want to go back to that store again. Located in the Marina Pacifica shopping center, Ralphs is a CA based grocery store, owned by the largest grocery chain, Kroger. We had some time to kill, so went looking to see what was on sale and what we could buy that could be kept in the car for hours. We ended up buying a 12 pack of Belgian White from Golden Road (on sale for $14.99 with digital coupon). The beer is very, very light (interesting Golden Road doesn't have a unique name for this)...Belgian White is so generic). The digital coupon ended up being a lot of trouble...couldn't get a decent cell reception inside the store, so had to walk closer to front to download the ralph app (I had the Kroger app but they have different sales than Ralphs). Signing on was easy, since it uses the same sign-on as Kroger (and Food4Less), and was able to 'clip' the digital coupon. But when I tried using it at the register using my phone number, it accepted the phone number but didn't give me the discount. The cashier directed me to scan a barcode on the app instead, which then worked. So even though it uses a single-on for all Kroger owned grocery stores, I don't think the phone number is a consistent identifier across all their stores. read more

This feels a little odd leaving a review for a grocery store, and I don't often shop here, but it's a huge store that has everything you need. My favorite amenity is that it's open super late at night, 1 AM. This is my go-to store at night! They have it all, whether it's the large deli, pharmacy, or bakery section. The produce section is also large on the right side of the store. Ralph's is generally my favorite store to go to for wine as well, and they have like 2-3 aisles of choices, which is insane! Recently, they added a new way to check out on the self-checkout aisle. You scan your item and place it on the conveyor belt, which goes to the bagging section. I don't know is a convenient thing or just a security add-on. The Marina Pacifica shopping center is huge and has plenty of parking as well. read more

When I asked for it, the cashier said "really sweating that 55 cents huh?" and then explained that they don't give it out because of the penny thing. Last shopping trip about a week ago I encountered 2 young men in the produce section asking me who my service provider was in my home? What? They claimed to be with Spectrum yet they did not have a shirt, vest, badge or anything on saying they were with spectrum. They followed me from the flower section to the bananas. Crazy. I know this is the way large grocery chains are going, locking up several isles to prevent loss prevention. But, really laundry detergent and dryer sheets? After buying many item and placing them in my grocery cart, I went to the lockdown isle last. I selected my item and walked out of the plexiglass areas on my way to the check out stands. A booming voice behind me was telling me to turn around and pay at the end of the lockdown isle. I did not realize that I needed to do this especially since there was no employee visible in the lockdown area. She told me I could not pay for the item with the rest of my purchases six feet away at the checkout station. I would need to go back to the lockdown area and pay for the one item there. I gave her the item back and continued to the checkout station. There must be a better answer than making our stores more like stores in third world countries and treating customers like criminals. read more

I used to only shop here. But the staff (including the manager) is so rude- I'd rather combine Smart & Final and Gelsons. It's a big store but..... They use "digital coupons" -- you scan the QR code on the shelf-- but it never works. So you waste 5 minutes with that (I have their app and it launches that but no coupon). Then at the check out when you mention it you're basically told to not worry (or shut up?) and the discount will appear when you hit "pay"-- right there that's a stupid system-- the discount should show up w each item you scan. But you wait and hit pay and of course there's no discount for the digital coupon, So now you've wasted 5 minutes already and you have to ask the (not helpful with attitude) young guy working the self check out for help. Of course he's nowhere near although the register has a "help is coming" kind of message. 7 more minutes go by. Even though I caught him when I first came up to ask about the digital coupon he'd blown me off and disappeared. So now I ask him again and EVENTUALLY he hands me the dollar in cash. Really? My 12 minutes was worth more than the buck. I mention this to the manager who says.... absolutely nothing. I then say-- isn't a manager supposed to address issues? He said I seemed frustrated (good call Sherlock). I said- just kill the digital coupon if they aren't going to work. You piss off your customers who wouldn't know or care if you got rid of them. I recently called to inquire about a potential recall on a brand of shrimp sold at their store. The employee who answered the phone did not introduce himself and asked me to hold while he checked for information. Unfortunately, he seemed uninformed and had to escalate the call to the manager. When the manager took over, she also failed to provide her name and displayed a rude demeanor, interrupting me and making it difficult to communicate my concerns. After some persistence, I explained that I had purchased the shrimp from their store and that it was listed on the FDA website, which I had to clarify for her. It is concerning that someone in management would lack basic knowledge about the FDA, especially in a food-related business. I finally learned her name was T, and I believe she requires additional training in customer service and phone etiquette. Given this experience, I am reluctant to return to the store, preferring to dispose of the shrimp rather than deal with a manager who appears unqualified, unprofessional with a nasty attitude. I see why this store had only 3 stars been coming here for years and never had to deal with a manager with horrible customer service skills, the company needs to really reconsider who they hire I felt like she wanted to fight me through the phone! The Ralph's in Marina Pacifica used to be my go to grocery store. However, in the past few months everytime I've shopped here I've been treated rudely...especially by the deli counter employees. The store in general is poorly stocked and no one seems to know when the out of stock items will be in. I needed a rain check for an out of stock item one day and was told I would have to find a manager to get a rain check. The manager then proceeded to tell me he was too busy and walked away. Finally, after waiting almost 10 minutes I got a rain check...but was made to feel like it was a major inconvenience. I will be finding a new grocery store in 2025. read more

There seems to be no policy for opening another checkout station when long lines exist. They open it up and whoever can run the fastest and is closest gets to check out first-cashiers could care less. actually, I think they have no sense how shoppers feel about that. They create chaos and then shun you if you object. It's bad policy. Especially if you get in a line with somebody named Cathy. --not a people person. Larger than average ralphs grocery store. Huge mall parking lot near the busy intersection of pch and 2nd street. This pharmacy delivers for free to me. A little known fact. Sloppy work. They got my address wrong twice and put down the wrong insurance company. No excuse as they are on the same ralphs pharmacy network as the ralphs in El segundo. I just need to watch them like a hawk. I still prefer ralphs pharmacy to cvs or rite aid. I had major issues with those two drugstores. read more

Ralph's Produce Today, I returned yet again another vegetable tray I had purchased at our local Ralph's store on PCH. The expiration date was 28 June. The quality the vegetables, particularly the celery, was disgusting. We have noticed a steady deterioration of their produce over the past several months. I made it clear to the manager I saw that this was unacceptable and that they should look into the matter. Maybe it's their supplier pulling a fast one.
