Aldi is my new favorite grocery store. Such amazing prices on fresh produce, breads, meats, organic food, and much more. This store is really well maintained and organized. I bought some good quality food at reasonable prices. Definitely didn't break the bank. This location is small, but had everything I needed. Only thing was lacking was customer service. Cashier didn't smile or even say hi, but she did to the people behind me afterwards. I wasn't too thrilled about that because it did ruined my experience. Overall, I do love Aldi! read more

The ONLY reason this Aldi location managed to earn a star from me is because of its overall decent prices and quality food options. Otherwise, I would have given it zero stars. The majority of the staff I have encountered--outside of one kind gentleman who is technically a third-party representative and not directly employed by the Aldi brand--have been truly unprofessional. Although there is no excuse for this behavior, it does not appear to stem from dissatisfaction with their jobs. In fact, many of the employees seem content. Rather, it is the attitude and manner in which certain clientele are treated that comes across as distasteful and disrespectful. On multiple occasions, I have witnessed and experienced childish tactics from employees. This has included making comments such as, "You better move out of the way," as customers are navigating the aisles. There have also been instances where employees appeared to aggressively toss or move boxes directly beside customers as they were attempting to pass by. While I understand that inventory stocking occurs throughout the day, there are professional standards and common courtesy practices that should be maintained during business hours. From time to time, there are also aggressive customers who behave as though they are entitled to bully others simply because they believe they can. Example: The cart return area has three lines for customers to choose from. On one of these occasions, I was placing my cart back and gathering my groceries when, out of nowhere, I saw another customer mad-dashing toward where I was standing. She then aggressively started yelling, name-calling, shouting, and scoffing in the most unladylike fashion. She gestured that she needed to return her cart; mind you, there were two or three other lanes that were open and available. Yet, she was insistent upon badgering me to drop everything I was doing during my grocery experience to appease her ill repute. Absolutely not. I am unsure whether she may have been attempting to scam me, as she was desperately trying to get me to leave my fully loaded shopping cart unattended, exposing my wallet and groceries. The security who had been on duty and watching the incident did nothing to prevent further harassment. Noting, a continuation of "selective" targeting and job performance. I've also noticed that some of the security will abandon their position to go stand in certain areas of the store and touch store product. I found this odd as I do not see how that is conducive to their "supposed" role of providing safety. Unfortunately, the negative attitudes displayed by some employees seem to mirror this same energy, creating an unnecessarily uncomfortable shopping environment. Nonetheless, I genuinely enjoy the Aldi brand and appreciate the products they offer. For that reason, I will likely continue shopping at this location. However, it would be in Aldi's best interest to address the conduct of some of the individuals representing the business. Improved professionalism, stronger customer service standards, and greater accountability would significantly enhance the overall shopping experience. read more

I can't believe this is the store everyone is raving about online. Honestly, it reminded me more of a Grocery Outlet than anything else. The produce didn't look very fresh, the food selection felt pretty limited, and I even found a moldy bag of beef jerky on the shelf. Considering that Aldi owns Trader Joe's, I was expecting much better quality and variety. Unfortunately, this visit was a big letdown. 0/10 -- I won't be returning. read more

I finally visited my local Aldi and it was great. It was clean, spacious, new, and well-stocked. There's an abundance of parking (for now) and there are EV chargers nearby. The produce and meats looked delicious and their snacks are highly-addictive, so exercise caution. They also have plenty of ingredients to create exceptional meals. read more

New shopping center and very organized store! I finally made it to an Aldi to see what it was all about. This one is in a new shopping center but in a an older and rougher part of Lon Beach. Suggest going during daylight hours. Nice large parking lot with ample spaces. Aldi has carts but requires a quarter to release one (chained together), similar to an airport! Fortunately I read about that in advance. This is to encourage customers to return their carts (and get your quarter back). The store is very organized and clean. Reminds me of an Amazon Fresh with all their produced prepackaged vs bulk. Mostly no name brands but their were some named brands, example Campbell's soup, however, only two to choose from (cream of mushroom and cream of chicken). Great price too, $1.32 per can vs Ralph's $2.29! I went there to pick up these cookies that are supposed to be very similar to Girl Scouts Thin Mints. I missed out this past season! I will say they are very, very similar. I also picked up Arm & Hammer laundry soap because I thought the price was great, only to compare it to the Costco size at home and price, not a deal! Checkout is mostly self check-out which is fine with me. Overall, prices seem good but selection is limited. read more

CHECKOUT LINES UNACCEPTABLE. Visited on 3/4 at about 9:30 AM to pick up a few items. Love Aldi as you can usually get in and out in a reasonable amount of time. However, ever since they removed the self checkout option, the connivence of Aldi has disappeared. Yesterday there were no less than 12 customers waiting to check out and only one clerk. Checkout can be fast but not when half of the shoppers had carts filled to the brim. As no call was made to bring up another cashier to assist, I ended abandoning my cart and walking out without my groceries. Ended up at Smart and Final with short lines and more selection. read more

Modern, brand new Aldi opening in Cambodia Town Long Beach, with all the things that we love about Aldi (low prices, decent selection, opportunity for treasure hunting) with modern customer friendly technology like self-checkout. This location had its grand opening on December 1, 2023, and I'm guessing it was packed. We stopped by the day after, and it was still quite busy but manageable. Some of the grand opening items were out of stock (e.g. $1.99 eggs and 2 dollar ground beef), but it had a good selection of other items that are often out of stock in the older stores. It is large inside with high ceilings and aisles that let two carts easily pass by each other. All the produce was fresh. They don't have a butcher in-house, so all meats were prepackaged (similar to how Super Target or Trader Joe's does it). And they still have the same procedures used to supposedly save money: self bagging so no need for baggers, needing a physical quarter to remove a shopping cart (encourages one to return it to the same place to get the quarter back). But they also accept credit cards now, and with the self checkout, you can be in/out pretty quickly. No longer have to go all the way to Bixby Knolls to shop at Aldi anymore, realizing that because this was grand opening week, the food won't be any fresher than it was that day. But it was a great start, and seemed to have gone off without a hitch. read more

I was so excited to learn that Long Beach was getting an Aldi, and when visiting the Aldi, it blew my expectations. There's plenty of parking, and there's tons of cars in the parking lot. In order to get a cart at Aldi, you need to insert a quarter. I had trouble getting a cart so the nice security guard helped me! The store itself is huge, it's clean, and it's organized. I could not see a single thing that was misplaced! The prices were surprisingly cheap. A dozen eggs are currently 99¢, and they are going like crazy! They carry tons of familiar brands and items, but they also carry brands and items that haven't been heard of. They also have all the items that will make an excellent charcuterie board! The employees can be found around the store, it's not hard to find an employee if you need help. The employees that work at the check-out sit on chairs which I absolutely love! I've always thought that cashiers need chairs so they can have the choice to sit or stand. You need to bring your own bag, but reusable and paper bags can be purchased. You pack your own groceries on the counter near the exit. I enjoyed going to Aldi more than I have when I go to Target or Food 4 Less! The prices are good, the food is interesting, the store is clean and organized, and there's plenty of security in case you feel unsafe! I will be coming back! :) read more

I had the most unpleasant and truly unbelievable experience at this Aldi location. This experience is VERY disappointing. I will never return to this hostel environment. I went through self-checkout, and there was no attendant. In my experience, the point of sale prompts you for you to pay for a reusable bag. But in this case, it did not prompt me. When I was done transacting, I saw the paper bags, so I grabbed one and bagged my groceries. The cashier named Jay tells me..."You're supposed to pay for your bags!" So I informed her that it didn't prompt me at the terminal. She said... you're supposed to scan the paper bag! I told her that there's no guidance for the customer. An obvious gap in process. She stared at me, so I said, "I guess I will pay the next time. She began shouting at me and said...EVERYONE KNOWS THEY NEED TO PAY FOR BAGS! I told her to calm down and relax, and she began shouting at me in front of other customers on the front end. This was all due to a 13 cent bag. She said...THEN DON'T COME BACK! I came back in to speak to the manager, Vanessa, but I also felt this was unproductive and pointless. It is very clear to me that Aldi has no core values and have no regard for their customers and community they serve. When I gave the manager the 13-cent bag back, she probably should have told me to keep it and apologize for Jay's unprofessionalism and uneducated reaction. It's unfortunate that they allow this type of behavior. The caliber and the quality of associates no longer exist. At least not at Aldis. Shame on you...smh. read more

Decided to try Aldi's and was sadly disappointed. 3.2 Stars, not surprised. I asked a women with glasses stocking the freezer isle if they matched the online prices with in-store prices and she didn't even speak to me. She just looked up at me and just nodded her head "No". Fortunately, there's a Smart and Final a block up the same avenue and they do price match. Won't be returning to Aldi's and making sure friends and family know they don't price match. Tried their curbside service again. This time I used the app and that went a lot smoother. However my only stipulation is the bags. Every other store that offers curbside also gives you the option of selecting no bags. I left it in the comments of my order that I did not want bags. When they brought my order (it was the same manager as last time) I asked him what is the best way to request no bags as I left it in the comment section. He said well you know we're timed for these orders. Ok....? I would also like to make a point that I also work at a grocery store that does online orders... not bagging an order makes it a faster process so I'm not really sure what he meant by that. if you were hiking in the Bavarian Alps and rolled down the mountains into Munich and your adventure was halted by a grocery store it might be Aldi. That's what the new AldI on Anaheim Street reminds me that it would look like. It has an unusual assortment of food/household goods etc. The aisles are full of surprisingly intriguing items and those unfamiliar items could lead to impulse buying. Especially if you walk in with $5.00 off coupons. Another sort of Grocery Outlet with its bargain hunting/gathering instincts rising up in the customer. A kind of Trader Joe's where you toss things into the cart like dice, wondering about the outcome. You may not find what you went to the grocery store for in the first place but that's ok if you're prepared for it. The staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The aisles were wide and comfortable. The prices were clearly posted. Security guards evident. The parking lot was large and easy to navigate. No complaints. read more

I had been to other Aldi's before, but was looking for a specific item (canned pumpkin) that was too expensive at Grocery Outlet and Ralph's. Score: I found regularly sized canned pumpkin for 1.15/ea! Store was very clean as my expectations were low due to the area of this location. I also found a few more items and the prices were great! I had 3 customers which i had to pay separate, and this retar* employee let another customer to pay in between my order, before I even put stuffs on the conveyor belt. Basically my stuffs are still in the cart, and she let ANOTHER CUSTOMER PUT HIS STUFF WHILE IM FIGURING OUT WHICH ORDER IS WHICH ONE. I complained then all the other employees sided with her. The brand new ALDI is OPEN! Very excited since this is 5 min away from my place. Store is big and clean since it is brand new. All the food and fun items you would expect are here. One interesting thing is there are A LOT of self checkout spots and only one live person cashier. The one up in Bixby does not have self checkout. I spoke to the one cashier on duty and she said she's in charge of her station and all the self checkouts. I asked how? Anyone who has shopped at self checkout knows there can be issues or mistakes made. So for now it's just her. Hopefully there will also be a self checkout cashier to assist in the future. Several shoppers were not familiar with their "use a quarter for a shopping cart" method. Which is surprising but I guess that means they are getting new shoppers, which is a good thing. I am worried about the area and how it may affect this store. I know self checkout is ripe with theft and how one person can keep an eye out for that while doing her own cashiering is concerning. I would suggest they get a security guard for the front door, not that they really prevent theft but more for the safety of the employees. Welcomed addition to Anaheim street. This store is absolutely horrible! The workers have no regard for the customers. A few of the employees left their work carts right in the middle of the aisles, making it impossible to shop. They saw me coming and turned their back to continue chatting vs doing their job. They wouldn't let me pass so I constantly had to go the long way around b/c they're so lazy. I proceeded to tell the manager and I asked if he would take my complaint and he told me to go on the website. I was perplexed that he didn't even care enough to 1) say something to the employees and 2) do something. When I get on the website, there's no way to complain. I'm sure he knew that and he intentionally gave me misleading instructions. The other thing is that they have weak bags with NO HANDLES! DO NOT SHOP HERE! read more

Everyone I know has the same first experience with Aldi. You go in to look for something specific and you're not impressed. A friend convinced me to give them another try and boy am I glad I did. You cannot beat their prices and quality on produce!!! Most of their produce comes from the USA so that explains why it's so fresh. I don't know of another grocery store that can compete with Aldi's produce! Period! You can't get everything here but what you can get is a very good quality and at a very low price. The chocolate is imported from Germany and Austria. It is amazing and cheap!! The stores are bare bones and you got to pay a quarter to use a cart. The service level is basically non-existent but you know what?? I don't even care!!! There's no service at Ralph's which charges five times as much. I'm so happy to have found Aldi!. I thought grocery outlet was my store but they've taken a back seat. Even Trader Joe's pales by comparison IMO. ALDI FOR THE WIN!!! read more

I've been shopping here in the late evenings for a few months now. It's always been a great in and out experience with the abundant self check outs. It's no longer worth going here if you are in a hurry as they have closed the self check outs after 7. Apparently that's the magic time that shop lifters start steeling so we all need to wait in a single check out lane for 20 minute to buy a handful of items. read more

The security guard presence at this Aldi is ridiculous. I went through the regular checkout, bagged my things, and then had to say excuse me to get past the security guard standing in front of the exit with sunglasses on.
