Don't be surprised when coming here that the parking lot is diabolical on the weekends - good luck trying to find a spot ! I came here once on a weekend & I would not advise - even street parking is scarce. Your best bet is to come on a weekday & you'll most likely find a spot in the teeny lot on Gardenia. THe store only has 2 registers & it's a zoo on the weekends. If you have craving for Khmer food, come here... chances are they have it. Beef skewers, pickled veggies, nom kom, to name a few. If you're looking for fish sauce or oyster sauce that's specifically made in Cambodia, they have it which I haven't seen at any other Khmer market or asian market. For how little the store is, there's a lot jammed inside. I was happy to find kreung here as I am too lazy to make my own ! and another rare find, Monk Balm (think tiger balm), & other medicinal items. This Khmer market is super small compared to the others located in Cambodia Town. Only reason we usually go there is because it's close to our home. You can find authentic Cambodian prepared foods, meats, noodles, fresh cut up mangoes or pineapples, and so much more. I've been craving their beef sticks and these are the best in my opinion. Something about the marinated ingredients they put in makes my mouth salivating. I bought 6 beef sticks for $12 which comes with papaya salad. A bit pricey, but nice to indulge once in a while. This market is where I buy all my Asian ingredients like soy sauce, hoisin, garlic chili, oyster sauce, and fish sauce. Can't forget the pickled mangoes in a jar. Absolutely my favorite to snack on during a hot day. Sweet at the same time sour goodness! Wai Wai noodles is a staple in our kitchen, therefore that's always in our shopping cart. Parking can get tight when it's busy, but people come in and out so you'll eventually find a space. Service does need improvement, but never had an issue with the cashiers. This was my first time visiting Riverside Market, and unfortunately it was not a good experience. The cashier was on a personal call during the checkout process, which already felt unprofessional. Then she acted as if she had missed a charge and proceeded to ring me up twice, overcharging me by $15. I purchased 11 items, yet I was charged for 13. I genuinely wanted to support a Cambodian community business, but 'm feeling very disappointed. After checking other reviews, it seems I'm not the first person this has happened to. All my Cambodian food fixes. All their soups are delicious. If I lived closer, I'd probably have a different soup everyday for dinner. They have Somlaw Machew Yuon, Somlaw Machew Sike Kho, Kaw Sike Chrouk, Somlaw Ka-Kho, and my personal favorite, Somlaw Machew Ktieh. Availability varies though. The cold deli usually has assorted prahok, banh xeo, papaya salad. The hot bar usually has ansom Chrouk, ansom Jake, fried fish, fried meat skewers, and my mom's favorite are the Jake Chien and Talonge Chien. Ever since, the new owners, the customer service is prejudice and discrimates with age-ageism. They are biased. If you're older, they'll be friendly and offer well/good customer service. But if you're young and not carrying an expensive purse, the coupled owners will argue with you, tell you to bag your own stuff, they let you carry your own bag of rice to the car, they don't smile at you, they will wrongfully scan items that are not yours, and they give you attitude. They need to work on greeting and handling customer service towards anyone and stop discriminating on appearance and age. They are very rude and rush you too pay. Although this is a supermarket, this review is for their prepared foods. There are few places in SoCal that have prepared Cambodian food. They have so many traditional dishes at reasonable prices. I usually buy enough to last me a few days. I love their papaya salad and their soups. Their papaya salad has so much flavor and they give you a decent amount at a reasonable price. There are many soup options. I've tried the chicken curry and pork belly with egg. The small (8oz) was $8 and was enough to last me a couple of days. I want to go back and try the others. The supermarket itself is small, old, a little dirty, and kind of stinky. The few times that I've gone there, they have had low inventory of their prepared foods so it's a hit or miss. If you are a neat freak, this is not the place for you. This is a very tightly packed, small, dingy store inside. This Cambodian market is the only place besides a few certain farmers markets where I can get fresh bittermelon (in Filipino: ampalaya) leaves. Their selection of Asian pantry items is not as good as the many larger Chinese, Vietnamese, Filipino, and Korean supermarkets. It's a little run down and could use some TLC, but Riverside Market in the Cambodian neighborhood of Long Beach is a port in the storm when in need of Asian produce or the secret sauces that hold the key to delectable dishes. We resembled that remark, needing Chinese eggplant, scallions, hoisin sauce and chili oil to construct the scallion pancakes we planned for dinner. They had all that and more at good prices. Use to come here as a kid, it's one of the staple Cambodian markets in Long Beach. But as an adult, you realize what kind of establishment this is. It is definitely outdated and needs to be thoroughly cleaned. For a business that has been able to stay in business all these years. It's dirty, not updated, rude sometimes but they sell Twa Ko and variety of classic Cambodian premade foods. They do accept credit cards too. I don't come for a smile and service, I just want my goodies and get out. The parking lot is big, nothing has changed about this market ever since I was coming here as a little kid. After skimming through Riverside Market reviews I just had to write a review. After noticing lots of comments about Service. Really?!? Who the heck comes here for service? The owners kids are cool not super friendly but not rude so I'm a-o-k. This grocery store is the real deal, it's as Khmer as it can get dirt and all. I come to Cambodia Town at least once or twice a month and I must say I visit this place almost every time to stock up. I come here for the Khmer home cooking food and of course the fresh fruits and veggies especially the Thai chilies & Green mangos. The Salaws, Soups and Kaw are freshly cooked with all the ingredients and it's soooo good. You can get a small order for $5 or was it $6 bucks and a large size for $8 so it's way cheaper than the Cambodian Restaurants. The grilled beef sticks and chicken sticks are also super good as well. They sell like hot cakes for $1.50 per sticks so at times you may have to wait for some freshly grilled batch. Papaya & carrot salad are free99 with the sticks purchase. The spring rolls are also hella good for $3.50 you get 3 pieces and this amazing fish sauce that makes a light lunch for some or delicious snacks for others. Also most of their package cooked foods are very solid and authentic. I do also highly recommend the Cambodian beef sausage that available at the meat counter it's a lot like the Lao's sausage and Thai sausage but just a tad bit more sour but very good!!! The sour pickled bean sprouts and greens are also phenomenal pairs that with grilled fish (also sold here) and some steamed rice (also sold here hehe) and your tummy will be Happy. I can literally go on and on mainly about the Cooked hot and cold food sold here! So I'll stop but hey You don't have to be Cambodian to enjoy some of the good food sold here. My rating is about the prepared fresh packaged food they sell. It is really good. I love the Nuom kruok, spring rolls, beef stick, chicken skewers, etc. it is fresh and very delicious. They will make the spring rolls vegan if your ask (just request spring roll without the chicken and shrimp) The staff is always very friendly. A reviewer mentioned that the store is not clean. None of the Asian stores in Long Beach are clean. I still shop at them. And Riverside Market makes some of the best prepared foods. One reviewer commented that the staff are not friendly. It is what it is. They sell certain Cambodian stuff you need that you can't find anywhere else such as khmer sausage so you go there. Don't expect anything more. It's just sad to see store that benefits so much from the Khmer community in the area but lacks so much respect to the people they serve. Riverside market is a hidden gem in Cambodia town. I love coming here to check out the fresh food combos like papaya salad, larb, etc... During the spring and summer months they have huge dragon fruit, lychee and sometimes mangosteen. Very expensive for the mangosteen and is recommended to eat quickly. Taro is also found here and I can make some kulolo with it. Lemongrass, galangal, bittermelon, thai basil, pre-peeled garlic and veggies are very cheap here. Nice family owned shop. read more

I haven't lived with my mom for a really long time and I can't cook authentic Khmer food well still learning...But I am from the 626 but i drive to LBC just to get these packaged food that is homemade and so yummy even though its packaged. But they package it fresh daily so its still fresh. Also, they have big hot pots of homemade Cambodian soups....Love it!!! ALso, I call sometimes to make sure their premade Steak/Pahok is still in stock and they actually save it for me when I call in. They are awesome!!!! read more

So I live in LA and I would drive my mom to this grocery store just to buy some authentic Cambodian veggies and freshly made food. My mom would stock up on desserts like no other! Really love this market however with this whole Covid thing going on, beef sticks 3 for $7.50? It doesn't even come with a side of rice or a small papaya salad or anything! For $6 at another market down the street, you can get 4 beef sticks and a small side of papaya salad! I'll pass on getting these here from now on. And their spring rolls are a hit and miss because I think they have different people making em. Sometimes there will be hooked up rolls and I could only finish 2 (comes in a pack of 3). A few times I've purchased, they were skimpy and had 2 very small, extra thinly sliced shrimps (usually have 3 regular sized shrimps in each roll). Other than that, their soups are pretty good.
