This is specifically for the sushi they make fresh every Friday for $5 in the deli area. Yes, you read that correct...$5! Now don't think these are some outlandishly huge rolls they are reasonably sized and you can't beat the special of $5. The other rolls are still pretty affordable averaging $9-11 bucks. The chef that works there is so kind! She is always so helpful and make sure to ask for chopsticks and the sauce that you need. The only thing I wish you could do is purchase the sushi directly from the deli area. The lines at this Vons are always so long but for some $5 sushi on a Friday it's worth it.

Why is it always like this. Get some cashiers in here, we want to go home. I come here three times a week because I don't another choice. Close it like the rest of you can't staff it

I used to love coming to this Vons. It was convenient, calm, and reliable. Now? I absolutely hate it. It's 8 AM not late at night, not close to closing and there's ONE cashier with long ass lines already backed up. How does that even make sense? People are trying to get in and out before work, and we're standing around waiting like it's peak weekend hours. This isn't a one-time thing either. It's become a pattern, and it's frustrating as hell. Poor staffing, no urgency, and zero respect for customers' time. What's going on, Vons? Do better. I'm done.

Located in downtown Long Beach, Von's has been go-to place for groceries since moving close by. Two really nice things about this store: reserved parking on the roof level, with spots always available; correct scanned prices, even with a very complicated sale and discount system. We haven't been back for a while, and I was surprised at how much more non-perishable product is now locked away. As mentioned, it's because of loss prevention. Like most retail these days, it is understaffed so I would imagine trying get a hold of someone to unlock for you would be difficult. When we came on a Friday night, the aisles weren't too full but there was a long backup in checkout. They do have self-service here, but you can't bring alcohol through it, so we had to wait. Not enough registers were open and each lane had overflow going into the aisle. This location wasn't listed as one of the stores that will need to be sold if the Kroger-Albertson merger goes through, so most likely will remain a Vons (part of Albertson's).

Casey from the pharmacy is top tier. Best pharmacist ever! My family and I went here for flu and covid shots. Despite having 27 tattoos and being almost 30, I'm not good with vaccines. I get anxious, light headed and nauseous. Casey spoke calmly and reassured me, empathizing with my anxiety. He worked quickly and efficiently, communicating the entire time. When he gave me the injection, he was so gentle yet quick. I hardly felt it. I've never had such a good vaccine! I elect him for employee of the month every month!!! Thank you Casey!! Mr. Santiago who helped us at the counter was also quite sweet. Thank you for everything!! This Vons is in downtown Long Beach. They do their best to keep outside and inside clean, but people trash it. All things considered, this Vons isn't too bad. Staff is kind, selection is good, and Casey from the pharmacy is goat.

This is my local Vons and I enjoy the fact that they've started adding more security and cleaned it up a little bit, but I wanted to send a big shout out to Bessie who was working at the bakery department. I have a need for some bread and she was very helpful and kind and very genuine. This Vons needs more people like Bessie. Thank you Bessie for being a good human and a hard worker.

I had already shopped at this store earlier in the morning and the day before with no issues, so I did not expect any problems. Everything was fine until it was time to check out. When I attempted to pay, my card was not working properly. As soon as I informed Coby that I was having trouble with my card, he became visibly annoyed and angry. Instead of offering help or trying to resolve the issue, he immediately took an aggressive and hostile tone. I calmly asked if there was another way to process the payment or if I could manually enter my card information, but he yelled at me and said he "can't do that" and that I needed to leave. Rather than assisting me or calling someone who could help, he put my groceries on the floor, refused to continue the transaction, and repeatedly told me to leave the store because my card was not working. He made it very clear that he did not want me there and had no interest in helping, even though customer service should be part of his job. When I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager, he dismissively told me that he was the supervisor, leaving me with no other option. His behavior was humiliating, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. Other employees have helped me in similar situations before without any issue, but instead of helping, Coby chose to yell at me and force me out of the store. This experience made me feel disrespected and unwelcome, and it seriously reflects poorly on the store. No customer should be treated this way simply because of a temporary payment issue. Also keep in mind I've been coming to this Ralph's for over 7 years NEVER had such an rude experience ever since tonight Coby needs to be retrained or informed basic polite customer service this is absolutely unacceptable.

They sell so many of them, that they're constantly putting out fresh batches. I've come in four times this year for it and it's been hot and fresh every time! The market is small and there is only side street parking FYI. The smell inside the store is something I will never get used to. Sorry, but it's horrendous throughout the entire store especially in the back. They could do better with ventilation and airing out the place. Douse the entire store in bleach and let it sit for a good 48 hours before a thorough scrub down. That's my advice as a returning customer. I go every 2-3 months because I live over an hour away and I make sure I stock up for at least a month each time. The owner, which is an elderly man who is always working the counter, is super nice and friendly. I just hope he does something about the strong smell in the store.
