Went in about 5 minutes before closing to grab some movie night snacks. The store was still well-stocked, and the staff were helpful despite it being late. Prices are reasonable, and I appreciate that they're open later on Sundays, which made it really convenient. Overall, a solid neighborhood grocery store for those last-minute runs.

This is specifically for the sushi they make fresh every Friday for $5 in the deli area. Yes, you read that correct...$5! Now don't think these are some outlandishly huge rolls they are reasonably sized and you can't beat the special of $5. The other rolls are still pretty affordable averaging $9-11 bucks. The chef that works there is so kind! She is always so helpful and make sure to ask for chopsticks and the sauce that you need. The only thing I wish you could do is purchase the sushi directly from the deli area. The lines at this Vons are always so long but for some $5 sushi on a Friday it's worth it.

5mins to closing and this guy won't let me in. Smh. A couple of top ramens for dinner. Ughh

There's this guy the security guard at Vons he's he runs it at night time and he's not letting me in and is 5 minutes till 10:00 it's not even closing time yet. I'm super hungry and all I wanted was a couple top ramens if it wasn't for this guy I'd probably be leaving Vons you could review but he had to go and f*** things up

I used to love coming to this Vons. It was convenient, calm, and reliable. Now? I absolutely hate it. It's 8 AM not late at night, not close to closing and there's ONE cashier with long ass lines already backed up. How does that even make sense? People are trying to get in and out before work, and we're standing around waiting like it's peak weekend hours. This isn't a one-time thing either. It's become a pattern, and it's frustrating as hell. Poor staffing, no urgency, and zero respect for customers' time. What's going on, Vons? Do better. I'm done.

Why is it always like this. Get some cashiers in here, we want to go home. I come here three times a week because I don't another choice. Close it like the rest of you can't staff it

Located in downtown Long Beach, Von's has been go-to place for groceries since moving close by. Two really nice things about this store: reserved parking on the roof level, with spots always available; correct scanned prices, even with a very complicated sale and discount system. We haven't been back for a while, and I was surprised at how much more non-perishable product is now locked away. As mentioned, it's because of loss prevention. Like most retail these days, it is understaffed so I would imagine trying get a hold of someone to unlock for you would be difficult. When we came on a Friday night, the aisles weren't too full but there was a long backup in checkout. They do have self-service here, but you can't bring alcohol through it, so we had to wait. Not enough registers were open and each lane had overflow going into the aisle. This location wasn't listed as one of the stores that will need to be sold if the Kroger-Albertson merger goes through, so most likely will remain a Vons (part of Albertson's).

Casey from the pharmacy is top tier. Best pharmacist ever! My family and I went here for flu and covid shots. Despite having 27 tattoos and being almost 30, I'm not good with vaccines. I get anxious, light headed and nauseous. Casey spoke calmly and reassured me, empathizing with my anxiety. He worked quickly and efficiently, communicating the entire time. When he gave me the injection, he was so gentle yet quick. I hardly felt it. I've never had such a good vaccine! I elect him for employee of the month every month!!! Thank you Casey!! Mr. Santiago who helped us at the counter was also quite sweet. Thank you for everything!! This Vons is in downtown Long Beach. They do their best to keep outside and inside clean, but people trash it. All things considered, this Vons isn't too bad. Staff is kind, selection is good, and Casey from the pharmacy is goat.

They have all your typical liquor store needs: alcohol, sodas, snacks, beach items, etc. But they also come packed with fruits and veggies and favorite premade lunch/dinner items. You'll find an extensive selection of coleslaw, sandwiches, desserts, pre-marinated meats and more. I recently grabbed a turkey sandwich on a hoagie roll and a slice of lemon bundt cake (my payment for doing a social activity.) I noticed several people ordering their large steamed artichokes, so I'll need to return to fully understand the hype! Their catering menu is pretty extensive - it legit includes 20+ meat options. The location is convenient and right on the corner, with decent seating and a good vibe from the music. I was also greeted as soon as I walked in, and the staff was quick to start taking my order and directed me to the burrito menu. I did have to take a moment to look over everything, but service overall was friendly and attentive. The coffee was actually pretty good, priced around $2.99-$3.99 with a few creamer options. As for the food, the burrito itself was okay--good, but nothing extraordinary or better than what you could make at home. It comes with meat, egg, cheese, salsa, and additional add-ons like potatoes and extra cheese are charged separately. My main concern was the condition of the space: it felt very cluttered, with items stacked everywhere and a noticeable lack of cleanliness that made it hard to overlook. While the atmosphere and convenience have their appeal, I would rate the experience a 3.2 out of 5 overall, mainly due to cleanliness concerns and the food not quite living up to the hype. Total $18 large coffee no refills and the burrito pretty pricey

I had already shopped at this store earlier in the morning and the day before with no issues, so I did not expect any problems. Everything was fine until it was time to check out. When I attempted to pay, my card was not working properly. As soon as I informed Coby that I was having trouble with my card, he became visibly annoyed and angry. Instead of offering help or trying to resolve the issue, he immediately took an aggressive and hostile tone. I calmly asked if there was another way to process the payment or if I could manually enter my card information, but he yelled at me and said he "can't do that" and that I needed to leave. Rather than assisting me or calling someone who could help, he put my groceries on the floor, refused to continue the transaction, and repeatedly told me to leave the store because my card was not working. He made it very clear that he did not want me there and had no interest in helping, even though customer service should be part of his job. When I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager, he dismissively told me that he was the supervisor, leaving me with no other option. His behavior was humiliating, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. Other employees have helped me in similar situations before without any issue, but instead of helping, Coby chose to yell at me and force me out of the store. This experience made me feel disrespected and unwelcome, and it seriously reflects poorly on the store. No customer should be treated this way simply because of a temporary payment issue. Also keep in mind I've been coming to this Ralph's for over 7 years NEVER had such an rude experience ever since tonight Coby needs to be retrained or informed basic polite customer service this is absolutely unacceptable.

I come here looking for specific things like natural maple syrup and high quality flour. I tend to not get fruits and I tend to find more items here from small businesses than brand name spots, so I'll sporadically find things here to impulse buy. They also have lots of prepared self-service hot foods and a poke bar if you want a meal to go. My favorite thing here are their fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, priced at $3.75. They sell so many of them, that they're constantly putting out fresh batches. I've come in four times this year for it and it's been hot and fresh every time! I find that outstanding as I've been to stand alone bakeries with cookies that weren't as fresh as they are here. The cookie is massive and has high quality ingredients you can taste. I've had issues with the fresh cheese cut in-store, which unfortunately tasted off and had a strong ammonia-like flavor. I will be returning it tomorrow for a refund. This experience has put me off buying their fresh cheeses going forward. I'm also not particularly impressed with the pre-cooked deli selection. There are frequent things that make me hesitate to purchase, such as a recent fish dish that was heavily overdone with capers to the point it felt unbalanced. That said, I do still come in occasionally because they carry some hard-to-find items. I've found excellent coffee here, and I've enjoyed their crab cakes. Customer service has also been very mixed. I had a particularly unpleasant experience with a cashier who had a poor attitude when I was overcharged for an item that was marked differently on the shelf than what I was charged. I went back to show the original price tag, even retrieving the torn portion to demonstrate it matched. Despite this, I was treated as if I might be trying to manipulate the price over a difference of about two dollars. There was no apology, just a dismissive and rude demeanor. The correction was eventually made, but it was handled awkwardly, and I was handed multiple receipts while my original receipt for other purchases was not returned. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed, not because of the pricing issue itself, but because of how it was handled. Overall, I still stop in for a few specialty items, but my confidence in consistency and customer service has definitely been affected. The ambiance of the store is nice. The parking lot it can often be a nightmare.

When it comes to meat in general, I'm super careful and particular. Proper packaging and cleanliness also matters for me. Pricing is like everywhere else that sells the same or similar products. The market is small and there is only side street parking FYI. The smell inside the store is something I will never get used to. Sorry, but it's horrendous throughout the entire store especially in the back. They could do better with ventilation and airing out the place. The majority of the staff I have encountered--outside of one kind gentleman who is technically a third-party representative and not directly employed by the Aldi brand--have been truly unprofessional. Although there is no excuse for this behavior, it does not appear to stem from dissatisfaction with their jobs. In fact, many of the employees seem content. Rather, it is the attitude and manner in which certain clientele are treated that comes across as distasteful and disrespectful. On multiple occasions, I have witnessed and experienced childish tactics from employees. This has included making comments such as, "You better move out of the way," as customers are navigating the aisles. There have also been instances where employees appeared to aggressively toss or move boxes directly beside customers as they were attempting to pass by. While I understand that inventory stocking occurs throughout the day, there are professional standards and common courtesy practices that should be maintained during business hours. From time to time, there are also aggressive customers who behave as though they are entitled to bully others simply because they believe they can. Example: The cart return area has three lines for customers to choose from. On one of these occasions, I was placing my cart back and gathering my groceries when, out of nowhere, I saw another customer mad-dashing toward where I was standing. She then aggressively started yelling, name-calling, shouting, and scoffing in the most unladylike fashion. She gestured that she needed to return her cart; mind you, there were two or three other lanes that were open and available. Yet, she was insistent upon badgering me to drop everything I was doing during my grocery experience to appease her ill repute. Absolutely not. I am unsure whether she may have been attempting to scam me, as she was desperately trying to get me to leave my fully loaded shopping cart unattended, exposing my wallet and groceries. The security who had been on duty and watching the incident did nothing to prevent further harassment. Noting, a continuation of "selective" targeting and job performance. I've also noticed that some of the security will abandon their position to go stand in certain areas of the store and touch store product. I found this odd as I do not see how that is conducive to their "supposed" role of providing safety. Unfortunately, the negative attitudes displayed by some employees seem to mirror this same energy, creating an unnecessarily uncomfortable shopping environment. Nonetheless, I genuinely enjoy the Aldi brand and appreciate the products they offer. For that reason, I will likely continue shopping at this location. However, it would be in Aldi's best interest to address the conduct of some of the individuals representing the business. Improved professionalism, stronger customer service standards, and greater accountability would significantly enhance the overall shopping experience.
