We came after dinner to pick up some dessert items. Signature ice cream was on sale for $4.99 for a 1.5 quart. We got traditional Vanilla and Chocolate Moose Tracks. The Vanilla was icey when we ate it later that night - like it had melted and refroze. But the Moose Tracks was fine. We also picked up a Just Desserts Dark Chocolate Raspberry Cake ($18.99). This was about 6" in diameter. The chocolate cake was rich and dense, the ganache was perfect. It didn't really need the raspberry in there or the mini chocolate chips on the sides. It was plenty rich enough. We've been searching for a moist chocolate cake so this checked some boxes. It was just super expensive. read more

I came to this Von because i had two hours to kill before my dentist appointment and they had a Starbucks inside. Plenty of inside comfortable seating as well as outlets for charging and maintaing power on my laptop. Friendly baristas, the fresh deli, salads, chicken and more is right within footsteps. Starbucks had displays of merchandise. I got y favorite Venti shaken expresso with oatmilk and à matcha foam and not only was it delicious but my barita made it look pretty. For my husband's 60th birthday and his Mom's 81st I bought a white cake with vanilla filling with a white chocolate icing and a white cake with fresh strawberries. Simply delicious. For my Mom's 80th and her best friend's 81st I bought a white cake with pineapple cream cheese icing and a white velvet cake. Every cake was fresh, moist, full of flavor. Of course Pavilions is on point with the cleanliness. Customer service is always awesome. You tell them what you have in mind and a lot of times they can do it. The bakery staff is always so friendly and helpful. Not only do the cakes taste delicious. They are beautifully decorated. This is one of the only stores where I can find Bolani. The store is super clean and they even have a nice selection of glass bottle classic sodas. I chose a sarsaparilla. We also picked up some ready made deli items. Everything was better than most of the deli items I've had from other grocery stores, so that was a plus. On the trip from east to west this is the 2nd chain that is actually part of Safeway. They are okay.

The store looks great, very clean and organized, upscale so I understand very they don't want homeless to be seen there., Overhead a manager on the service deli side near the entrance not to leave his things near a door next to where the sell drinks, across from the sushi because the fire department wants that area clear. What a load of crap, he doesn't want homeless shopping there and is making it hard on that homeless person. He buys things from the service deli and the meat department. I have seen numerous times a rack rite in front blocking that same door. Not good treating a customer like that even if he is homeless. read more

This is a very nice pavilion. The bakery area could need more assistance. There was one employee but she was very busy. I walked away from the warm cookie section, cause she was busy making boxes, and the eye contact and me saying I want a cookie was not enough to get service, lol. It is better that I didn't get cookies, I need to slim down for a photoshoot I am doing next month anyways, lol. It's not a very big store, but it has everything from great fresh fruit and vegetables to a really great bakery that just upgraded their basket, so the design on their cakes are amazing -she made an axolotl.!!! We frequent this store because of its proximity to an EV charging station. The produce and food selection is excellent, the employees are friendly and helpful, but man, for these prices, the restrooms are disgusting and an embarrassment to their reputation. They're almost as nasty and dirty as roadside gas station restrooms. Truck stops have cleaner facilities. read more

Rarely leave reviews for grocery stores let alone negative reviews but had a bad experience at this pavilions. Not with the employees necessarily but the product quality for the outlandish prices they are charging. A few days after my shopping trip, I realized many of the things I had bought were past their expiration date on the day that I bought them. Partially my fault for not being thorough. Okay, fine. So I try to eat the foods that have just passed their sell by dates. Already rotten, packaged products tasted stale or off. Paid $150 for one person and one week's worth of groceries. Paid $7.50 for microwave minute quaker oat packets alone.. I should've went back and returned everything. read more

I'm new to the neighborhood and have gone to this store for various needs. They put my two bags in my cart then left the other of my bagged items on the counter. Then when I called they said they had my items. I came to grab them and they had put my purchased items back in the shelves. The cashier was super rude! Well today I went back in to grab the items that I had left behind AND AGAIN they didn't bag all my items. When you go tot he store you expect that the checker and bagger are actually paying attention to what they are doing and maybe make sure all the items purchased are bagged. read more

Pavilions in Seal Beach is over the top pricey and I have found that they've lost a lot of their customer base as its pretty quiet in there most the time with a handful of customers. People are voting with their feet and going elsewhere in droves where they can stretch their food dollar instead of paying $300 at the check out. read more

The store I love...so clean and the checkers so quick and professional. The only issue I have is with the bakery. They are frequently out of bagels and they package them in single wrap. I'm not sure why, but they don't sell six at a time. And their cream pie (banana, coconut, chocolate) pies no longer taste good. They taste bland...so much so that I drive to a different Vons to get our favorite desert, even though I live close by. This is such a challenging time and I wish them the best. This store would be stellar if you updated your bakery. 5 stars for the store itself. 1 star for the bakery. read more

So many homeless people out front, I felt totally unsafe and the management did nothing to address the issue, or offer to walk me to my car. Their prices are more expensive than other stores. I will take my business to Ralph's in Marina Pacifica down the street, where they have cameras and actually provide good customer service and have security. Yesterday, I received a phone call from Paul at this Pavilions location. Paul expressed sympathy for my sisters passing. He also went on to express that the clerks attitude and lack of correct handling of the problem, were both unacceptable and unnecessary. Paul further explained that it was a definite teaching moment and that the clerk would be receiving needed customer service training. Paul then asked if he could send his concierge with a new arrangement. The assortment we received was lovely. He also sent along an additional orchid plant that was absolutely gorgeous. I feel that he went out of his way to make sure the situation was remedied. I truly appreciate his efforts to make sure that I was a happy customer. The original arrangement definitely looks worse for wear after just a few days. However, I expect the new one will last quite a bit longer. read more

I've lived in Seal for years. I think pavilions is the best it's ever been. I love coming to this location. Everyone is so friendly. My little one loves coming with me because the employees love talking and interacting with her. It's always clean. It's never too packed. I don't think I've ever waited in line for longer than 5 minutes regardless of the time of day. They always have what I'm looking for. I'm so proud that they were able to persevere through the pandemic and adapted to the harsh changes that needed to be made. I love grabbing a drink at the Starbucks located inside the store and taking my time walking through the isles grabbing my groceries. My whole family loves coming to this location. I wouldn't change a thing. Keep doing a great job and being there for your customers! read more

Pavilions is literally the cleanest and most organized grocery store that I've ever stepped foot in. The alcohol section is phenomenal, and they have like $5,000 + bottles of alcohol in there, I didn't even know that existed in life, really shocked and astounded me. The people there were very kind but because I'm not from the seal beach area, I found everyone a bit rich seeming, but that really is just because they are a lot more wealthy than I am just being able to live in that area. However, this visit, I checked out with a girl named Chyna, she was very rude and nasty to me and instead of greeting me she used a condescending tone telling me I needed to wait to be called next time to a register. There was no person helping, there were zero people in line, and Chyna was horribly rude. I know this is gonna sound petty, but the store no longer stocks my favorite beer--Mickeys Big Mouth in bottles. Spoke to a few stock people over the last few months as to why it wasn't on the shelf where the price tag was but finally told last week---no longer in the inventory and won't be at all in future. Hard to find item already now cannot be had in SB except by special order from Bay Liquor. But Pavilions has no problem stocking 5,000 different micro-super-duper-triple-craft-IPAs for $14 a six pack. End of an era and will reduce my shopping there to nil. I been coming here for 8 years and in the last 8 months they had made some changes to the store for the worse. They took the self check out lines out and now it takes 45 mins to go in for one thing only. I went last weekend around 9pm not many people in the store but once you check out it takes 45 mins. I had my wife time how long it took. This morning I went in at 6am it took 25 mins in line to get 3 things. THE BEST PART IS THEY HAVE A SIGN THAT SAYS "3 IS A CROWD" HANGING ABOVE THE LINES. I have talk to management several times and they are very condescending. They don't listen to what the customers have to say. Only way they will listen IF WE STAY AWAY!
